Gasthof Krone Fischen in Fischen i.Allgäu

Yesterday, the service and food were very good. Today, after a 90-minute wait, I canceled my meal and left. At the next table, guests learned after a 60-minute wait that their ordered food was no longer available, and they were thrilled. Even if there could be longer waits, you should inform guests and not pretend everything is fine. When I canceled, there was still discussion with the manager/chef; there was no understanding or apology for the fact that I had already waited 1.5 hours. He works so hard, and the restaurant industry is in such a bad way, but he showed zero understanding for the fact that 100 guests were furious. Sorry, but this is unacceptable.

The food was very tasty; we can especially recommend the roast pork with homemade dumplings.

The food here is always wonderful and the prices are reasonable. The service staff is attentive and very friendly.

Anyone looking for a real inn should definitely head to the Krone! After a warm welcome, you can choose to sit in the cozy dining room with its tiled stove or in the large and impressive hall. In addition to classic Allgäu dishes, there's a changing weekly menu with a limited selection from Fischingen hunting grounds and neighboring farms: fresh, regional, and delicious! Perfectly tapped beer and a fantastic selection of regional schnapps are also available. During our one-week vacation, we visited the Krone three times and were always impressed. I particularly like how we, and especially our dog, were looked after during a thunderstorm: Magda naturally moved us from the terrace to the large hall, where our dog could relax and we could continue enjoying our meal. Absolutely fantastic, and thank you again, dear Magda! We'll definitely be back on our next vacation in the Allgäu!

We're simply thrilled. The service was incredibly friendly; even our request to sit under the awning in the rain was met with a smile. The entire team—unfortunately, we don't know all their names, but Magda in particular—was simply welcoming. We visited twice during our five-day stay and were equally impressed with the food. Even if you wait an extra five minutes because "the place is full," it's definitely worth it. The roast pork and the burgers were simply divine. If we ever come back to the region, stopping by is a MUST. OH... a wonderful end to every meal is the warm chocolate cake, which is sure to delight any waistline. 🥰🥰🥰

We went there for dinner with our dog, and it was simply fantastic. Friendly service and good food. Since many guests had dogs with them, they were seated well-spaced so no one felt inconvenienced. Highly recommended, and we'd love to come back.

For many years, the Krone in Fischen has been a regular stop for us, one we look forward to every year. As soon as you enter, you sense the special atmosphere: warm, authentic, and with great attention to detail. Ralf Haubold's entire team is incredibly attentive and friendly, even when the house is full – you immediately feel welcome and appreciated. We are particularly impressed by the quality of the food: fresh, regional, creatively prepared, and always of a consistently high standard. Everything is just right here – from the selection and preparation to the presentation. What makes the Krone so unique is the combination of genuine hospitality, outstanding cuisine, and a harmonious overall experience. For us, it's always a taste of home and relaxation at the same time. We always love coming here several times on every vacation and are already looking forward to many more visits! If only we could award more stars, they would absolutely be deserved!

The best restaurant in Fischen! The chef himself is in the kitchen and cooks with incredible love and passion – you can taste it in every dish. Even if it takes a little longer at full capacity with two dining rooms, the main hall, and the terrace, the wait is well worth it because the result is simply culinary excellence. The staff is superbly on the ball, attentive, and friendly. Our favorite waitress, Magdalena, in particular, makes every visit special – for many years, she has always kept a table free for us "under the Aloysius" during our vacations. The rooms are also very beautiful and inviting. For us, the Krone is an integral part of every stay in Fischen – highly recommended!

I was in Fischen with a friend and had two dinners at Gasthof Krone. 1: braised ox, dumplings, and salad. And peppered schnitzel with rösti (fried potatoes). 2: salad with fried char fillet and homemade bread. And I had the braised roast for the second time. This roast is so tender you don't need teeth to chew it. 😋😋😋😋😋 The service was veeeery friendly and attentive. What does it matter if you have to wait, considering the quality of the food?

The Gasthof zur Krone in Fischen im Allgäu is simply a gem! The food is a feast for anyone who loves Bavarian cuisine: fresh, perfectly prepared, and served with that unmistakable Allgäu charm. Everything is just right here – we'll definitely be back!

An excellent restaurant with home-style cooking of a quality that's rare these days. We ate there every evening and were particularly impressed by the venison dishes and the roast ox. The soups and sauces are also exceptionally delicious; you can get by without Maggi, Knorr, and the like. Insider tip for dessert: the creme brulee (the best of all, in our opinion).

We had reserved a table for two. After being seated, we waited about 20 minutes for the server to arrive and take our order (it felt like 28°C in the dining room). Another 10 minutes later, the drinks arrived. In the meantime, other guests arrived and were treated promptly and courteously. Their food was served very quickly, and we were still waiting. After about an hour and 15 minutes, our ordered food finally arrived. The service is very friendly, but could be a bit more prompt once the drinks were empty. The price is justified for the good food.

I was at the Gasthof Krone again today. I've been coming to the Krone for years and am always impressed by the food and the staff. Simply world-class service and value for money.

Incredibly delicious restaurant with good food and a great selection! We came here spontaneously in the evening and reserved a table. It wasn't that busy, and we had free seating on the terrace. The selection of food and drinks was very good. The daily specials also offer some delicious delicacies. We ultimately opted for a pancake soup for starters, an original Wiener schnitzel, and the char salad. It was incredibly delicious and beautifully prepared. We didn't lack for anything, and we can wholeheartedly recommend the Gasthof Krone!

We were warmly welcomed at the entrance by the very friendly waiter. The restaurant is very cozy, tidy, and clean. The service was first-class from starter to finish. Our dishes, from the starter salad to the venison goulash with croquettes, the roast beef with onions and spaetzle and red cabbage, and the roast venison with dumplings and red cabbage, were all perfectly tasty, and our plates were completely devoured. The portions are generous and the prices are excellent. The quality of the meat and side dishes is excellent. The dessert and, of course, the drinks were also excellent. Everything tasted exceptionally good, with very reasonable prices and decent portions. The menu is varied even without salmon, prawns, and curry. Unfortunately, vegetables are missing. The salads are plentiful and good. Dessert is highly recommended.

We were at the inn for dinner on November 1st, 2024. Had the pepper loin and the salad with the fried char. Both dishes were prepared with fresh ingredients. I also have to mention the homemade baguette that was served with the salad. A dream. The evening was rounded off with a chocolate cake with a liquid center... 😋 Very friendly service.

Reservation was not honored. We were asked to wait until the table was free. After 25 minutes we asked what it looked like. The waitress informed us that the table had been given to someone else. It's very loud there and you can hardly have a conversation

We were there for dinner with the wish car on Friday October 4th, 2024 and felt very comfortable. Very nice welcome, absolutely delicious food and great, attentive and very friendly service. There was also live music that evening which really matched the ambience. I can absolutely recommend the inn. 5/5 stars. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Update: One year later: We are still enthusiastic about the best food in Fischen: Kässpatzen, spinach dumplings and onion roast roast, all super tasty, they cook with regional products. The waitresses are very courteous and quick to fulfill your wishes. We look forward to next year. Be sure to reserve a table, it's really easy to do online.

NOT RECOMMENDED! It's hard to put into words what a bitter disappointment this establishment is - an absolute disaster! The overwhelmed waiters create such a chaotic atmosphere that one wonders whether there is even a minimum level of organization here. The unbearably long waiting times and the separate serving of food added to the already frustrating experience so much that even one star would be far too generous for this miserable service. While the food itself was good, that doesn't make up for the rest of the experience. I can say with certainty that we will never visit this place again.

Not recommended at peak times! First there was chaos when allocating a table, despite booking in advance, then after more than 40 minutes we still couldn't receive any drinks let alone place an order. The waitress had lost track of things and was partly at a loss. Thanks for nothing!

The three of us were here as a family on a Sunday. You can reserve your table and time online. This is really optimal and highly recommended. It is very busy (we were there during the summer holidays) and without making a reservation you may not be able to get a seat. What's worth emphasizing is how friendly and attentive the staff is, especially towards children :-) The food and drinks were top! We would love to come back and thank you for everything :-)

Crusty roast and Wienerschnitzel, highly recommended.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the rooms as we only ate there but the food is phenomenally large portions, great starters, very nice waiters and a wonderful ambience. It is dog friendly and very short waiting time. All in one a very good restaurant/accommodation where you can eat there all week long.

For us the tastiest food in the region! We tried out many restaurants during our 14-day vacation and everything was perfect here. The food is super delicious. The homemade salad dressing is amazing, as are the pan-fried schnitzel and the fried potatoes. Also super nice, friendly and attentive service. No question, we will definitely be back.

Five of us went here for dinner several times. Our baby and our 2 dogs also felt very comfortable. Service was very friendly and the food was always delicious. Every time the meat was butter tender. The restaurant is definitely a recommendation.

In addition, all employees are friendly and willing to give advice. Due to high demand, reservations are particularly useful for outdoor areas. We'd love to come back!

If you can get Kaiserschmarren here, it must also be offered during peak times. We left again, not even a star from me 😢 such a mess. Thank God there are also other restaurants, like Kreuzwirt, yay

We came here spontaneously once in the evening and with a reservation the other time - both times it was great, the food tasted great and the service was very friendly and attentive! It is located right next to the train station and is simply inviting, highly recommended.

We have eaten at the Krone several times and also taken it home to go. Always great! Very tasty dishes. The game dishes and also the steaks are particularly recommended. These are fried personally by the boss and each level of doneness is served as desired. The girls in service are on their toes and it's always nice.

No statements can be made about the hotel and the rooms, as we were only at the Gasthof Krone for dinner. The dining room was very well filled and the 3 waitresses (including the counter) were busy and yet attentive and friendly. Lucy deserves special mention here.

You sit very nicely. The pan schnitzel was very good. The spaetzle as a side dish could have used a little more flavor. The dishes on the other tables all looked very good. Overall recommended.

We ate in the restaurant today and had the Kronepfanne. "Pork medallion with spaetzle" 3 small, tough pieces of meat in an indefinable, fatty sauce with spaetzle (without any taste). When we came home shortly afterwards, we had the "fast Otto". Any further comment is therefore unnecessary!!!!

The daily menu here had deer schnitzel, which my wife ordered! The deer schnitzel was very tender and particularly tasty, we had never eaten such a deer schnitzel before! I had the pepper schnitzel with saddle of beef and pork fillet, it was also very good, but some pieces of saddle of beef were not fried as pink as the more tender pieces, the pork fillet was very good and also tender! The service was nice and helpful! The restaurant was full and we can only recommend it!

I ate a fantastically good venison schnitzel here today, it was so tender and so tasty. To date I have not found a deer schnitzel on a menu. Kudos to the chef.

We ate here 5 times out of our 12 days of vacation, and it was good 👍 The first time we came without a reservation, but the very nice service staff made it possible for us to stay and sat us at the regulars' table - great. On the other days we made reservations via cell phone, which I found very practical. Always had great seats, all three waitresses were super nice and attentive, thank you again for that.
