Gasthof Klosterkrug Falkenhagen in Lügde

On a beautiful sunny day, we rode past here on our motorcycles in the summer of 2023. We had to stop because it looked simply inviting from the outside. No sooner said than done. The food was simply delicious. Freshly prepared and with lots of vegetables. The salads were fresh and deliciously dressed. The schnitzels were crispy and simply delicious. The side dishes, such as fried potatoes and fries, were tasty and crunchy. The beef broth to start with was fresh and very well-seasoned. For dessert, we had Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes) with homemade apple compote, chocolate cream, and homemade cheesecake. Simply wonderful. The ambiance is initially off-putting. But considering how quaint it is, a place like this simply can't die out. I would like to thank the two lovely ladies for the good food and the delicious cold beer.

We were there with a group of about 20 people for an asparagus dinner. We had pre-ordered, but it took a long time for everyone to get their plates. My portion was okay, although the asparagus had brown spots and the cooked ham was a round, molded ham. Many of us sent the asparagus back because it was overcooked and watery, and apparently, it tasted good. Some were also dissatisfied with the schnitzel, which they said was unseasoned. Accordingly, almost everyone felt the price was unreasonably high.

Known for its cooking show on a major TV channel, the food here is excellent. Everything is kept very simple, but that doesn't detract from the overall impression. The food is delicious, and the beer is well chilled.
