Gasthof Holländische Mühle in Schkeuditz

I went to the Dutch Mill in Dölzig for dinner with my family today. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. The dining rooms are wonderfully rustic and lovingly decorated, and there is ample parking. The food was outstanding, and we were served bread and lard as a small appetizer beforehand. We each had venison leg and braised pork loin and were completely satisfied. We'd love to come back! Update: We were very well looked after again on December 6, 2025. The kettle goulash, Saxon sauerbraten, and pork tenderloin roulade were all delicious. A small appetizer (lard with cracklings and fresh bread) is always included. The service was very friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Just a few kilometers from the A9 motorway. I had a cozy room in the converted attic. Lots of wood, a good-sized pub, and a delicious breakfast. Very attentive staff. Mid-range prices. Definitely worth a visit.

We were guests in this cozy restaurant. There's also an outdoor seating area. The menu isn't overly extensive and offers something for every taste. I HIGHLY recommend the pheasant breast with almond crust. The beer garden atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was very friendly. The food was disappointing. The sausage meat for €9.90 was mostly filled with mushrooms. I could search for the meat. The spinach pancakes were over €15.95. A ready-made pinsa from the supermarket was topped with frozen spinach and guaranteed to be cheese. The appetizer, bruschetta with fresh chanterelles, was tasty, but also a ridiculously high price of over €13. (3 small pieces). At the Italian restaurant in downtown Leipzig, €9.80. The schnitzel also seemed to have been frozen.

While passing through, we stopped for a late lunch in the beautiful beer garden and enjoyed delicious asparagus and schnitzel. Excellent and friendly service. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, but for the high price, it wasn't huge portions, but we were still full. Quality over quantity is paramount here. There's a sandbox and small animals to keep the kids entertained. A definite recommendation!

We came here for dinner with five adults and one child. Everyone found something they liked. All different dishes. Everyone thought it was delicious. Even the peas on my daughter's plate were eaten whole, despite her usual aversion to vegetables. And her schnitzel was a hit. She spent the rest of the time with the rabbits. So it was a cozy evening with delicious food.

Very nice restaurant near Dölzig

We were there with a group of 43 people and had a room to ourselves where we had a great party with delicious food and plenty of drinks. The service left nothing to be desired, and there were never any unusual waits at the catering counter. We had chosen and pre-ordered the food from the buffet, of course. We felt at home.

This was our second time eating there. I've also DJed there. Very friendly. Very good food. Good value for money.

We were there for the buffet on Easter Sunday. The tables were beautifully arranged and the staff was, as always, very friendly. Unfortunately, dishes were advertised that weren't even available, such as poultry, soup bars, and home-baked cakes. It's a shame, but the food and the selection were still very good. Edit: See attached photo, that was what was meant by advertised, not the notes laid out on the tables on site :)

No matter whether it was a starter, main course or dessert – everything was of the highest quality and cooked with fresh ingredients. A real pleasure! The staff? Simply great! Friendly, attentive and always discreetly in the background – exactly how you want it. Here you really feel valued as a guest. The rooms also deserve high praise: modern yet comfortably furnished, sparkling clean and designed with great attention to detail. We immediately felt at home Unfortunately we were disappointed with the breakfast. The selection was limited and the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. We expected more for the price. Too bad!

The food was of decent quality, the selection was limited, but there was something for everyone. The portions, however, don't do justice to the prices. Starter soups consist of a ladleful with a slice of baguette on the side – very disappointing for €6.50. Main courses taste good – but the average person won't feel full for the hefty prices. Yes, everything has gotten more expensive...but I'm full when I go. The ambiance is dated. Another visit is unlikely. Unfortunately, the value for money wasn't right.

I had a business appointment near the Dutch Mill and decided to stay overnight with breakfast and dinner in this house. A very good choice! I was completely satisfied with everything. And the breakfast was also very rich and lovingly prepared with a large selection of dishes. Because I was so satisfied, I immediately booked another overnight stay for my future business trips. We were a large group, had ordered ala kart, 3 people were canceled at short notice due to illness, were insulted by an employee, the same employee immediately complained again when ordering food, wanted a children's meal, it doesn't exist, I can because of a stomach operation only eat small amounts. When I ordered this I got another unfriendly answer because I wanted the ingredients to be exchanged. The chef made it possible, although it was a normal portion, he was able to take the rest with him. For some of my companions, the food was cold, but something new was brought straight away. Our visit to the Gasthof Holländische Mühle in Schkeuditz was an entirely positive experience. We chose the roast goose and the venison shoulder, and both dishes were excellent. The roast goose was juicy, the skin was nice and crispy, and the side dishes – including red cabbage and dumplings – harmonized perfectly. The venison shoulder was tender and flavorful, with a rich sauce that beautifully enhanced the game flavor. The quality of the ingredients was obviously high, which added to the enjoyment of the food. The service in the inn was also exemplary. The staff was not only friendly, but also very attentive and willing to respond to individual requests. This created a pleasant atmosphere in which guests felt like they were in good hands. Another plus point is the parking situation: there are plenty of parking spaces directly in front of the inn and along the side street, which makes the journey very convenient. Overall, the Gasthof Holländische Mühle offers a wonderful combination of delicious regional cuisine and warm service in a cozy atmosphere - a visit is absolutely recommended!

Unfortunately I have to give a bad review here. Yesterday, November 9th, 2024, we took part in the Christmas party at the Leipzig and surrounding area regulars' table. If you're charging 40 euros for a buffet, you shouldn't just expect canteen food there. Unfortunately, that was all just TK products very sad. Furthermore, according to the boss, old rolls were used for the alleged decoration. There is still so much that didn't fit. But I don't think anyone there is interested in that. First and last time.

I have to write down my displeasure here, I was a guest in your house yesterday and was very disappointed. The booking was catastrophic, as I was told, the rooms were supposed to be ready at 4 p.m., but we didn't get in until 5 p.m They were left and stood in front of the door. A buffet was booked at 7 p.m. for 34 people per person for 40 euros. You have expectations! I've rarely been so disappointed, you found that 5 minute ritual again - open the bag, add hot water and it's out in 5 minutes. Nothing against frozen food in kitchens, but there is the possibility of conjuring up something from this if you like. The vegetables didn't even see the salt shaker. Peas, vegetables, croquettes etc. all served carelessly, crispy schnitzel probably frozen too. Serving at least one sauce was also too much, but the unseasoned seasoned meat served on the schnitzels (lemon slices are also welcome - if available). The "pork steaks" with tomatoes also died a second time in the kitchen. The dessert options were either Sometimes frozen or carelessly prepared, I don't think anyone has tried them before. Loveless leaf salad, the crotons seem to be finished and ancient The ancient, rock-hard rolls that were used to serve the sausage platter had no logic whatsoever, they could have at least been wrapped in aluminum foil, then they wouldn't have ended up on the plate for consumption. When asked about a liqueur, they said there wasn't any. When we asked for a Jack Daniels Cola, we were told we didn't ask vigorously and were given 2 glasses (they had certainly sold 3 bottles that evening). The canteen buffet was only half worth it, and charging 25 euros plus fries for a small child is very cheeky. When I look at the pictures of the reviews, the main focus is on heating up frozen food and I think that's the case even though everything in the Ek is more expensive. What I have to charge in my own business is not justified in terms of price. That's my personal opinion, when I'm catered to I want quality for my money, otherwise I could prepare something like that at home, Although I wouldn't use these ingredients in my private life either. With a little love in the kitchen and if you want, you can conjure up a lot without much effort and then enjoy positive reactions if you seek out the proximity of the guest and don't avoid them. So closing time.

I went to dinner with my husband on Saturday, we didn't have a reservation and we still got a seat quickly. The service was friendly. Our food came surprisingly quickly, even though the restaurant was quite full. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed with the quality of the food, my pheasant breast was very dry and the Röstis obviously wasn't made by myself and was totally soft. My husband's schnitzel wasn't convincing either, it was dry and solid. For us the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all.

I celebrated my 50th birthday here with my family yesterday evening, September 14th, 2024 (it was on September 12th). The food was super tasty and very filling, the service staff were very attentive and courteous, as well as very quick in implementing our wishes Wishes. A special evening for me and my guests that we will remember for a long time and that we would very much like to come back to. It's a shame that the weather put a damper on our plans, we would have liked to have used the service in the beer garden. All in all, it was a very successful evening that left nothing to be desired; we even had freshly made caramel sauce for our ice cream in the kitchen. Delicious food and courteous service. We sat in the beer garden. There is a play area for children and numerous animals to look at. It was a successful 70th birthday for my mother-in-law. It was my first visit and won't be the last.

Due to certain circumstances, I went out to dinner with my wife on Wednesday evenings two weeks later. Both times there are no complaints to express. Drinks, food, service and ambience are just right. Here people like to give the available 5 stars. Many thanks to the team.
