We went to Kesselhaus for lunch today for the first time. The industrial-style ambiance is okay. Although the restaurant wasn't full, the server was late. A second server arrived 15 minutes later, taking off her jacket and helping her colleague. We ordered the schnitzel with fries. Perhaps we should have ordered something else. The schnitzel was overcooked. The breading was tasteless and had an oily, greasy aftertaste. There were crates of empty bottles and other items lying around next to the counter, which didn't exactly improve the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. A real shame...

Is this how you treat your customers? We were really looking forward to our Christmas party as a small group (10 people). The venue was quite nice, the space was good, and the noise level was reasonably low. The initially friendly staff took our drink order fairly quickly, and the drinks were served promptly. As for the food, we were informed a little later that it would probably take a while because other guests and larger groups were also having Christmas parties. We were understanding and politely asked for a rough estimate of how long we might have to wait for our food. This conversation didn't really go well, perhaps due to language or comprehension difficulties. Even after another server joined the conversation, they were still hesitant about taking our food order, which led us to consider going to the nearby Christmas market and coming back later, or even looking for a different restaurant altogether. They simply refused to give us any kind of guarantee about the wait time. ... Just a short time later, one of the servers came around the corner with the surprising news that she would now take our order. Equally surprising to us was how quickly the food was served, and most of us considered it a success. They certainly made sure our customers were satisfied. After the tables were cleared, some of us were browsing the menu for dessert when suddenly the head chef (presumably also the owner) came around the corner and, in a decidedly inappropriate tone, suggested we were welcome to choose another restaurant, as his kitchen had delivered 180 meals that day and we weren't the only customers. In response to this remark, we tried to politely explain that we had simply asked the servers how long we had had to wait for our food. Unfortunately, the "nice gentleman" wasn't willing to listen to our explanation, but he had taken the time to express his displeasure despite the 180 meals. Respect. All of this was reason enough for us to leave immediately and pay, which also meant we were rather stingy with the tip (Dear servers, please thank your boss for this!). Finally, let me reiterate that this review is not due to the location, the food, the service staff, or the communication difficulties we encountered, but solely to the questionable behavior of a head chef who is now perhaps meticulously scrutinizing his receipts. He likely didn't overhear the rather friendly conversation we had with the staff beforehand. The restaurant can certainly live with the fact that we won't be returning, but a business owner has to expect such reviews when, especially as the boss, they lack a certain level of competence, friendliness, respect, or tact in dealing with their customers.

We were a group of 10 people and had made a reservation. Our drinks arrived quickly, but then the server told us she couldn't take our food order for at least another 30 minutes because there was a larger group waiting. We would have been happy to wait 45 to 60 minutes. When we asked, she couldn't give us a more precise timeframe, so we said we might go somewhere else. (It could theoretically have taken two hours.) When the waitress returned, she was finally able to take our order, and the food arrived quite quickly. The food itself was good, so we were quite satisfied. But then came the unpleasant end, because the chef/owner of the restaurant came to our table and was very unfriendly, practically taking his frustration out on us. He said he was in the kitchen from morning till night and that we should go somewhere else if we didn't like the wait. As a customer, I can't accept that, hence only 2 stars. Had he refrained from doing that, I would have left as a satisfied guest and probably given 5 stars. Too bad.

We had lunch there today. The beer was very good, as was the service, but the food didn't match. I had beef on rösti; the rösti was okay, but the meat was extremely stringy and tough. The price/performance ratio wasn't right (€27).

We've been there a few times and were very satisfied with the food and service. My only complaint is the parking. We were the first guests and all the spaces in the boiler house were taken, and we had to pay to park across the street. The owner should take action, even though it says everywhere that parking is for guests only.

The Kesselhaus has a great atmosphere and is beautifully decorated. However, the quality of the food is about on par with a "canteen" meal. The roast beef with onions was small, and the schnitzel and fries could have come from a hospital cafeteria. We found the service staff's tone bordering on unfriendly. As a man, you have to change your baby in the women's restroom. I'm by no means woke, but I draw the line there, too. In summary: the service and food are satisfactory. Based on the service provided, I wouldn't recommend the Kesselhaus to anyone.

Typical convenience food, as expected, although the beer was so-so. But the decor was quite nice.

If you just want a quick bite to eat, it might be okay. But we won't go back. We were there on a Sunday shortly before 5 p.m. Practically every table had "reserved" signs (without a time indication or anything like that). Although at least half were empty, we were shown to an unattractive table despite asking. The food was good, but poorly presented and the portion size (roast beef for just under €28) was quite small. Drinks were okay (although non-alcoholic beers are more expensive than alcoholic ones).

The food and service were very good. We were a large group in the adjoining room, but the ambiance was unfortunately very sober and incredibly loud. It's a shame, as it somewhat dampened the good impression.

I always enjoy eating chicken wings at Kesselhaus. The two dips (yogurt and tomato) were a delight. But suddenly I'm only getting yogurt dip! When I asked WHY, I was told it was returned so often, that's why it was removed from the menu. I think that's absolutely unacceptable! The price has stayed the same, but the service is LESS! The chicken wings with just yogurt dip are completely missing a delicious element. That little bit of tomato dip isn't really that expensive to annoy customers. I've ALWAYS eaten both dips, including my family. I won't order chicken wings anymore because the enjoyment has really been lost with the boring yogurt dip. The chef should go back to offering the ingredients as they have for years. I was "offered" ketchup instead. But this unhealthy alternative is out of the question for me!

Visited the Kesselhaus for the first time today. The staff was very friendly. We had the daily special, which was delicious. Unfortunately, the restrooms are upstairs—not so easy for people with disabilities, as there are so many stairs.

Super nice staff, food was on the table in a short time. The portions are large and very tasty. My absolute plus point is the animal-friendly behavior. We were traveling with two dogs who were both warmly welcomed, a drink bowl was provided and even a treat was given. You don't often see such animal-friendly behavior. The ambience is quite something, the restaurant in the brewery and the one in an old industrial building from 1895. There is good and tasty Swabian cuisine here, as well as very good home-brewed beer. The service ladies were always attentive, quick and very friendly.

I was at the boiler house with customers for dinner. Both the food and the beer (hefeweissbier and promotional beer) tasted very good. The service was very courteous and attentive. On my next stay in Schorndorf, I will definitely make a trip to the Kesselhaus again and can recommend it with a clear conscience.

The food is great!!! Unfortunately I was only there at lunchtime and only had the intermediate menu to choose from, which the people didn't have to offer. But understandable.

There were 7 people there, schnitzel, dry, thin, no taste, spaetzle from the bag, you had to look for sauce on the plate. My friend's turkey curry sauce was ok, 6 small pieces of meat, no one was fed up with it, rice warmed up in the microwave. Service was in a bad mood and annoyed. So me won't go there anymore.

Cozy restaurant and well attended. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food and didn't get it at the same time. The first ones had already finished eating when the rest got their food. But otherwise everything was okay.

The drinks came within minutes and the food after about 15-20 (it was very busy that evening) The food was as requested - medium rare In both dishes. Small criticism: The fried potatoes are a bit very thick, some like it that way and some don't. Personally, I like them a little thinner and crispier. Still tasty. The onions were also tasty, maybe a little bland for my taste. But I think you can easily spice that up if you were to ask :) All in all, a very nice evening with very tasty food. I will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu piece by piece 👍🏽

Good home cooking. We were there for lunch and it was well attended. You should definitely make a reservation. My decision fell on the brewhouse pan. It tasted very good and the portion was more than enough. The gourmet rösti is highly recommended in terms of taste, but the portion size is not appropriate for the price. You get two potato rosties. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated, but the noise level when fully occupied is quite high due to the open design. There are enough parking spaces in the area and directly on site. Card payment is possible.

I ordered a Bierbrauerschnitzel with salad for 13€90! There were 2 schnitzels flattened and a mountain of green salad and a dollop of carrot salad from the bucket and radish salad! I thought that there would at least be tomatoes and cucumbers and peppers since it's summer! I won't be coming back anytime soon if you're hungry!

It did not taste great but I am not one to complain and ate it. I have not been the same since. Got diarrhea and have a constant feeling of nausea plus a massive headache. I found that the quality in this restaurant is not consistent. Sometimes the food is really nice and sometimes the same dishes are subpar. I am really not happy now.
