Friendly owners at this inn. We were politely called back to say a table had become available. They were already full earlier in the day. A good German restaurant, very tasty, with a nice selection of meat and fish. Good wines and good beers. As you would expect from a German inn. Tip: the schnitzels are incredibly delicious. The price is very fair for what you get. We will definitely return to Gasthaus zur Tanne.

A fabulous local Gasthaus, they seated us without a booking on a busy Wednesday night. The staff were all lovely and efficient. The food was outstanding, and came with an extra soup, salad and sauces for each main course. They are also very family friendly.

For French people passing through the area, I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent value for money, top-notch staff, all with a smile, and who made the effort to speak English to serve us. Just perfect

I ate here with my family and we were very satisfied. The quality of the food was very good. The wait for the salad was well bridged by the "greeting from the kitchen." But even without this attention, the wait would have been reasonable. The wait was attentive and very friendly. The children's plate is quite small for children who are good eaters. This was definitely not our last time eating here. Update 10.08.2025: Today we visited the Gasthaus zur Tanne again and, as always, felt very comfortable. The service was as warm and attentive as ever. A delicious greeting from the kitchen – a tomato soup – shortened the time until the main course. The food was once again excellent. Anyone who values high-quality food is in good hands here.

Correct, delicious. We asked for a menu for three people but received four plates. Everyone had more than enough. A platter with fries, spatzle, croquettes, and rump steak. Turkey and schnitzel with vegetables. No stress about making a choice that way. An amuse-bouche with an aperitif.

Four of us went to the Gasthaus zur Tanne on Thursday for Schnitzel Day and were very satisfied overall! The portions were huge – ideal for those with a big appetite. The schnitzels came with a not-so-good brown sauce. However, the salad and choice of croquettes, spaetzle, or fries were excellent. Classic, hearty cuisine of the highest quality. The service was very friendly and attentive. The only small downside: the food unfortunately took a little longer to arrive (but it was also very busy). However, given the quality and freshness of the food, this was still acceptable. The value for money is excellent – ​​you get a lot of very good food for your money here. In conclusion: Despite the somewhat longer wait, it was an all-round successful evening. We would love to come back – especially for Schnitzel Day!

We’re on a road trip from Spain to Poland and just stopped in this lovely restaurant for dinner, the food was delicious, portions huge, and the price really affordable, charming, cosy atmosphere and greet service in overall. I almost never leave reviews, but had to leave this one, would definitely recommend this place. And they have nice, refreshing non alcoholic drinks and deserts as well :)

The food was delicious. Even the small portion was generous. The ambiance only gets four stars because a large group was sitting in the same room, and it was very loud, so we couldn't really talk. It only quieted down once everyone had something to eat.

The side salad is dressed with a very tasty dressing. The restaurant is always busy, so it is advisable to reserve well in advance. Schnitzel or sliced ​​roast beef with pepper sauce are recommended. The service is very friendly and attentive. All in all recommended. The ambience corresponds to the overall concept of “a good middle-class inn”. We'd love to come back.

Service was very friendly, there were four of us eating there. With my friends it was delicious, but in my opinion it was also very expensive. I ordered a vegetarian meal, bread dumplings with mushrooms. There were dumplings and sauce too, but you could look for the seasonal mushrooms and actually couldn't find them. Was very disappointing for this not very cheap price.

This restaurant could probably be classified using the German term "Gutbürgerliche Küche" (which translates to bourgeoise/civil cuisine). That may imply simple food which is most definitely not the case for this restaurant. I would instead call it traditional German cuisine. It is unfortunate but these kinds of restaurants are more and more difficult to find in this area. You can see that when driving around through the small towns seeing how many of them have closed or been turned into other restaurants (which can of course be excellent by any means). I truly enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The only difficulty I had was picking from the menu as there were so many different great choices. P.S. Thursdays are "Schnitzelabend" or "evening of Schnitzels" ... not to miss!
