Wir gehen hier seit Jahren essen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist Perfekt. Die Bedienung ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Freundliches, aufmerksames junges Gastro Team. Tolles Ambiente, entspricht dem bäuerlichen, gut bürgerlichen Stil ganz wunderbar. Typische badische Küche. Ruhig gelegen im Ort.

Am Wochenende ohne Platz zu reservieren geht nicht dafür schmeckt hervorragend.

Junges, entgegenkommedes, schnelles und freundliche Personal. Tolles Ambiente. Preis Leistung sehr gut. Immer wieder.

Waren gerade dort zu 3. essen und waren alle pappsatt. Preis Leitung stimmt und das Personal ist super freundlich. Können es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. PS: es gibt dort das leckerste Hefe, was ich je getrunken habe😉👍

Wir waren letztes Jahr im Urlaub dort und das Essen war wirklich super. Dieses Jahr wollten wir wieder dort essen gehen. Leider war alles ausgebucht. Damit hatten wir fast gerechnet, konnten aber vorab nicht reservieren, da man inter 4 Personen nicht reservieren darf/kann. Das ist meiner Meinung nach eine etwas unglücklich geregelt. Da will man frühzeitig reservieren, darf aber nicht, da man nur zu dritt ist.

Wir waren uns einig: Hier gibt es den besten Flammkuchen weit und breit. Auch das Rindersteak sehr gut. Recht traditionelle Gastwirtschaft mit Hausmannskost, schönes Ambiente, freundlicher und schneller Service. Im Außenbereich bei gutem Wetter schöner Garten. Normaler Schankwein.

Ordentliche Portionen an schmackhaften Essen, die für kleinere Personen zu groß sind. Man kann sich die Reste dann aber Einpacken lassen (leider in Styropor-Behälter, das ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß! Kalt ist es ja sowieso schon, dann könnte man auch Pappe verwenden). Insgesamt aber ein riesiger Betrieb, vor allem an Sonn- und Feiertagen. Sehr fleischlastige Karte. Vegetarisch ist eher ein Fremdwort, die Karte bietet hier quasi nur Notlösungen und keine wirklich eigenständig vegetarischen Gerichten. Service war OK, wirkte etwas überfordert, dafür kam das Essen sehr schnell.

Wir waren schon öfter hier mit Kindern und es war jedesmal ausgezeichnet. Super Kinderfreundlich, was sich sowohl im Innenraum wiederspiegelt, als auch beim außenliegenden Spielplatz und natürlich mit der tollen Kinderspeisekarte. Der Service einfach toll, super lieb und immer aufmerksam. Auch sehr zu empfehlen für Geburtstage, welchen wir auch schon dort gefeiert haben. Immer wieder gerne

vor allem die Brägele (Bratkartoffeln) sind grandios. Die Salatsauce fand ich auch ziemlich lecker.

Ein Muss für jeden, hier sollte man auf jeden Fall mal gewesen sein. Ein super leckeres Essen, ein Service-Personal, wie man es fast nirgendwo findet, schnell, aufmerksam und sehr sympathisch. Essen sehr gut, große Portionen. Toiletten auch sauber, Parkplatz auch vorhanden. Auf jeden Fall reservieren, Kartenzahlung ist auch möglich. Ich sag nur: bis zum nächsten Mal 👍🏻⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wir sind nach einer Wanderung zufällig auf dieses Lokal gestoßen. Das Essen ist einfach, aber sehr gut, reichlich und preiswert. Der Service ist freundlich und das Ambiente sowohl drinnen als auch auf der Terrasse ist wunderschön. Außerdem gibt es einen tollen Spielplatz; es war herrlich, dort bei einem entspannten Aperitif den spielenden Kindern zuzusehen. Wir haben absolut nichts an diesem Lokal auszusetzen, außer dass wir eine wundervolle Zeit hatten. Es gibt dort auch einen Wickeltisch und Hochstühle.

Leckeres Essen, super nettes Personal und ein schönes Ambiente, dazu draußen noch einen großen Spielplatz für die Kids.

Das Gasthaus Zur Straußi bietet hervorragende regionale Küche, die mit viel Liebe und Authentizität zubereitet wird. Der Service ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam, was den Besuch zu einem rundum angenehmen Erlebnis macht. Ein wunderbarer Ort, um traditionelle regionale Küche zu genießen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Portionen perfekt. Beim großen gemischten Salat mit Champions oder Pute gibt es allerdings kein Brot dazu, was sehr mau ist. Die Bedienung ist nett aber räumt ab während andere am Tisch noch essen, no Go.

An absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food, especially the salads, was delicious, and despite the large number of guests, there weren't long waits. It was a shame that there were onions in everything. I had a steak with potato salad and asked for the onions on the steak. In this case, it would have been nice if they had pointed out that the potato salad also contains onions. A little more attention would have been great, especially for those with allergies. We would still come back. Reservations are required.

The service was very welcoming and friendly.........The price for a Pinot Gris spritzer was good.........I wasn't so impressed with the food; I had turkey schnitzel with fries. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was lukewarm.........the fries were okay.......the restaurant is quite loud.......

We went on a Saturday, and the inside was completely packed, and the tables outside were dirty and neglected. We couldn't sit there. There was no one to greet us.

This was our first time here and we were thrilled. The service was incredibly busy, but we weren't forgotten; everything ran smoothly and was perfectly organized. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. We had tarte flambée, which had a nice crispy crust and base and tasted amazing. We'll be back on our next vacation :)

We are here twice during our stay in Buchholz whilst visiting from the UK. We loved it. Great atmosphere and it had a very traditional feel. The food was very tasty and good value. You will not be hungry afterwards! Waiting staff were very helpful and friendly and the service was efficient despite it being busy. Our family would love to visit again if in the area.

The salad was really good But that was it Unfortunately...

Everything was great!... I couldn't find anything negative here!... Service, food, friendliness, speed, quality of the products...! Another highlight: a playground for the kids right next door.

Really large portions, the side salad was great, the schnitzels were unfortunately barely cooked, but the schnitzels were cooked a bit too long, too hard, and the breading wasn't souffléd, which is a shame. The service was very prompt, friendly, and pleasant.

We go to Straußi often, and the food was always great. Now, the quality has declined, the portions have gotten smaller, and the packaging for food costs a fortune. The food used to be great. All of this takes away from Straußi's former charm. But at least the Ganter beer is finally gone, and they're serving Waldhaus beer 👍🏼

We spontaneously stopped by today. We had a great meal, and the staff were excellent, attentive, and quick! If our vacation weren't over now, we would definitely come back! 😊

This was our first visit to this wine tavern and we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. The portions were generous. Smaller portions were also available. Despite the busyness, we were served promptly. This certainly won't be our last visit!

Perfectly delicious and affordable

We called on Thursday to reserve a table at 8 p.m. We were told that they only take reservations until 6:15 p.m., but that it would be no problem to get a table for two people. When we arrived at 7:50 p.m. on Friday, there were seats available, but everywhere was marked "blocked." When we asked the waitress, she said: "We have two parties inside, and the terrace is busy too, and that they hadn't expected it (mind you, it's a Friday evening, and the weather is nice)." She then wanted to ask inside about us. After no one else noticed us, we left hungry.

Very nice ostrich, good food, and very generous portions. The service is friendly. We sat outside in the shady garden, which was very pleasant in the heat.

Friday evening, after returning from vacation, we decided very spontaneously to order this Straussi. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m., but we were able to place our order at 8:50 p.m. without any problems. The waiters were plentiful, very friendly, and quick. The food tasted great, and the portions were fair for the price. The schnitzel came with a mixed salad. The drinks were served just three minutes after ordering. The restaurant is especially recommended for families with children, as there is a really large playground directly across the street. On summer days, it's very warm on the terrace under the glass roof. There is also outdoor seating.

The schnitzel and fries were simply nothing (it tasted like it came from a deep fryer, but I was assured it wasn't; it was so good that I sent half back. That's saying something to me...). What did score points was the salad for €3.50, the very attentive service, and the ambiance. But I won't be coming back for the main course. What a shame...

Great food at reasonable prices

The tarte flambée, salad, and ostrich platter were great. But the breaded schnitzel was disappointing. It was tough and looked like it was fried in old fat. It could definitely be better.

While the sunny terrace is a definite plus, the experience leaves something to be desired. The glacial pace of the service was a real drawback; managing only two drinks in three hours suggests significant delays in taking and fulfilling orders. And while there's comfort in familiar German dishes, the lack of innovation in the kitchen means the food, while adequate, won't exactly excite your palate. So, if you're looking for a leisurely drink in the sun and aren't in a hurry, this spot could work. Just don't expect a culinary adventure or lightning-fast service.

Came to these ostriches today to eat outside in the garden restaurant. A friend of ours is lactose intolerant and it wasn't possible to prepare a salad to eat with vinegar and oil! Otherwise the food is pretty good with good portions and reasonable pricing.

Tried a total of 3 times in 3 years and totally failed 3 times.... NEVER MORE STRAUẞI in Buchholz. I wouldn't even put these run-of-the-mill meals on a dog. Staff was and is very snippy and not service-oriented. My well-intentioned experience report.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the inn: the playground and playroom for the children, the top service for the adults, the fantastic home-style food (huge portions) and the ambience that exudes so much coziness and invites you to wander. And even though all the tables were occupied, the acoustics were still quite pleasant.

This inn is definitely worth recommending! A rustic dining room with several areas and a quaint beer garden invite you to linger. The nimble, polite, and motivated staff quickly fulfill guests' requests and are clearly interested in their well-being. I was surprised that there was no soup on the menu, but it wouldn't be necessary given the portion sizes. I also really like the fact that you can combine many dishes to your own taste, and some are labeled separately if you want to order just a smaller portion. I was completely impressed with the taste. My side salad was delicious; each portion was individually seasoned, and everything was fresh and lovingly prepared. When I'm out and about, I like to try the regional specialties. So I opted for the Black Forest Schäufele with Brädle (a kind of pork shoulder), which was a very good choice. Truly delicious, a good portion size, and here, too, you could see that it was lovingly prepared. I think the price-performance ratio is very fair, and combined with the rustic interior, I'll definitely be back. Thank you!
