The food in the restaurant is delicious. Highly recommended.

The rooms in the main building have seen better days. The bathroom, in particular, could use some renovation. The church tower around the corner, where the bells ring from 6 a.m. onwards, takes some getting used to. Combined with the current construction work, it wasn't exactly quiet and relaxing, but at least I was able to check out a day early without any problems. Okay for the price.

The following review only covers the hotel and not the restaurant: This was our fourth time staying at the hotel. The hotel is located very close to the train station, allowing for quick travel to Freiburg. Public transport is also free with the Konus guest card. Free parking is usually available directly in front of the hotel. However, if the hotel's restaurant is busy, parking can be tight. The rooms themselves are spacious and nice, and at least the rooms not facing the street are relatively quiet. Breakfast offers a large and varied selection of different dishes. Unfortunately, during our last visit, we noticed a few changes compared to previous years: - At the end of the hotel's corridors, there are balconies that are used as smoking balconies, which leads to doors slamming at all hours as smokers indulge their habit. This is especially annoying at 6 a.m. In this case, a general smoking ban should be imposed on the hotel premises. - Unfortunately, there was no Nutella or chocolate spread at breakfast. - The cleanliness of the rooms has unfortunately declined. Some black or yellowed spots were found, especially in the bathroom. Regarding the price, I can only say that despite the multiple price increases in recent years, there is unfortunately no significant added value. However, it is still within the range of what I would personally pay for a hotel like this. All in all, this is a fundamentally very good, family-run hotel.

Delicious food, good service, steak a bit tough.

A very nice house, a great, large, superbly laid out terrace where you can eat comfortably, the menu is varied with something for everyone, there is a daily recommendation, salads are very well prepared, the meat is of very good quality, when the sun is shining there are enough umbrellas to provide shade, and above all the well-coordinated team is very good, a perfect evening!

Beautiful modern hotel room in a cute little village near Freiburg. Good wine selection. The restaurant offers a selection of regional, delicious dishes. Absolutely delicious 😋 🤤 😋

Short way to the train station and short way to training. In the evening we ate very tasty mouse pockets as the dish of the day at a fair price. If it wasn't so far away, we would come to eat more often! Rooms are very clean and modern. Bed was excellent and slept very well. Breakfast was also delicious, quiet and cozy! I'd love to come back.

If you are nearby Freiburg or intentionally in Waldkirch and you’re also looking for a hotel or place to stay, Gasthaus Löwen should be your choice! The whole hotel is welcoming and friendly so are the people working there. They have a fitness and wellness are as well and on top of that access to public transportation is included to the price. The restaurant has also a great vibe but make sure to reserve a table before going, as this vibe is not a secret amongst the locals. Rooms are excellently clean and comfortable. My favourite part of my stay was the breakfast. Not just the variety of the goods you can have but the quality is quite high as well!! I usually stay a lot in hotels but this breakfast earns a golden medal from me! If you have special requests they are going to help. Thank You everything and I wish You well!

Ich war immer gerne zum Löwen, wenn ich beim KKSV Buchholz als Kampfrichter für Wettkämpfe für den SBSV (Südbadischer Sportschützenverband e.V.) im Einsatz war und auch noch bin. Leider bekommt man jetzt kein Zimmer mehr für eine Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag, es müssen mindestens 2 Nächte sein. Sehr Schade, die Küche ist hervorragend, Zimmer in Ordnung. Aber leider sind Tagesgäste (1 Übernachtung) wohl nicht mehr erwünscht.

Wir waren zum 2. Mal in den letzten sechs Wochen im "Löwen". Das letzte Mal war es gut, nicht überragend, aber gut bürgerlich. Dieses Mal war es leider nicht so toll. Schon das Zuteilen eines Tisches verlief sehr holprig, man hatte von Anfang an irgendwie das Gefühl, dass der Tisch bereits für später reserviert war. Sehr schnell kam das Essen bzw. der Salat. Leider wurde dann ein Gericht gereicht, eines aber wohl irrtümlicherweise an einen anderen Tisch geliefert. "Wird schnell nachgeliefert". Gute fünf Minuten später wurde das fehlende Essen erneut wieder zunächst einem anderen Gast geliefert bis es dann doch noch ankam. Gut, das wäre ja alles noch hinnehmbar gewesen. Durch die "schnelle" Zubereitung wurde aber wohl die Würze des Fleischs vergessen. Dafür waren die Beilagen überdurchschnittlich gesalzen und als Soße wurde eine undefinierbare Pilzsoße gereicht. Man konnte satt werden, aber mehr auch nicht... Das Kürbis-Risotto für rund 22 EUR war meiner Ansicht preislich viel zu teuer und ein Geschmackserlebnis war es leider auch nicht. Die Antwort auf die übliche Nachfrage nach dem Essen: War alles recht? wurde von der Bedienung leider nicht abgewartet. Ansonsten war der Service am Tisch aber sehr nett und aufmerksam. Damit gibt es noch ein befriedigend. Wir werden allerdings künftig in anderen Lokalen zum Essen gehen.

Wir haen einen sehr schönen Abend im Biergarten verbracht. Das Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Essen war sehr gut. Die Portionen sind sehr üppig, nichts für den kleinen Hunger

Also,was manche hier schreiben ist schon sehr verwunderlich. Wir waren jetzt schon sehr oft hier Essen,noch nie entäuscht worden, und gestern mit 10 Pers. als Familienfeier dort gewesen und alle,wirklich alle waren rundum total begeistert.Egal ob Jägerschnitzel,Fisch,Schweinefilet,Cordon Bleu oder die perfekte Lammhüfte und das alles an einem Tisch zusammen gebracht,sehr gut.Gruß an die Küche. Toll auch das alles behindertengerecht ist,auch für ältere Gäste. Weiter so,wir kommen wieder

Albergo molto confortevole, camere ampie (la nostra era al terzo piano del vecchio stabile), anche il bagno comodo ma cieco, parcheggio comodo sia davanti che dietro, colazioni più che abbondanti!!! Volendo si può richiedere il biglietto gratuito del treno per raggiungere le città vicine. Niente male il ristorante alla sera, non hanno però dolci ed il conto non è possibile inserirlo in quello della camera ma pagato a parte, accettano carte varie.
