Our motorcycle club (7 people, 7 mopeds) arrived for the 4th time in September 23rd. What happened to us there now was a complete outrage. This hotel and restaurant has become an imposition. Delete from 5 stars...8. Not recommended!!!!!!!!!

Once a delicious restaurant, now an absolute NO-GO place... I'm excited to see when the shop closes, it can't be long... Such a shame for the town of Schönhagen!

We booked a room for 105 euros, it was a room for three, with breakfast. We arrived and the manager said that the booking was a mistake and the room costs 165 and forced us to pay extra. I wouldn't do this, but we already had 105 euros paid. When we arrived, he simply walked past us, we stopped him and he then gave us the keys. The man is absolutely unfriendly and angry. He said the extra charge for the room was 30 and for breakfast 35, and you couldn’t go without breakfast. We arrived quite late and had punctured the tire before and had no strength to argue. I sent a description of the situation to booking several times, but there has been no response for a couple of days. This man is a disgrace to the entire individual business of Germany. We have been to several hundred hotels, but we have never encountered such an attitude. Oh, and the beer garden wasn’t open, only for the manager’s friends. Hotel owner - take action, this is not how business is done anywhere in the world.

Absolutely not up to date, no WiFi in the room, no TV, bed sheets were used and the rooms look like they are from the 80s... Free cancellation stated, upon cancellation the full price was charged!!! Innkeeper very unfriendly!!! Advise everyone not to stay overnight...

What should you evaluate? Okay, unfortunately you have to give one point. It should be because of me because there were fresh towels for three nights and the bed was made twice. That's it already. What was promised but didn't exist: restaurant, beer garden (both closed), sauna, WiFi or TV in the room. By the way, both have not only been used for a few days as the rest of the reviews show. Instead, a moldy shower with a shower curtain and an average breakfast without rolls but with warmed bread. The margarine was also 5 weeks old, as I found out on the second day. The room (single room no. 11) in the style of the 70s with renovation work and a rusted radiator. Hot water comes out of the cold water tap and vice versa. It's actually amazing what the hotel is allowed to advertise but simply can't show. Such an approach is also called malicious deception I tried to cancel the booking with the owner on the day of arrival. However, he only wanted to agree if he got paid for 1.5 nights after 1 night. That's audacious and I assume that this treatment of guests and the faking of false facts will lead to a quick end. I wouldn't stay there again for free.

Well, what else can you say? Most of it has already been summarized well and pretty much to the point in the previous comments. My father and I enjoyed being guests here for 12 years. Christmas and Easter were a must for us in Harburg and we were always happy to make the journey from Göttingen. We also “enjoyed” the new circumstances at Easter and are still completely stunned and sad that it should end like this. Really a shame. We try to ignore this experience and keep the Harburg in good memory and look back fondly on the culinary highlights and the warm atmosphere. All the best to all former employees.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is now unsuitable for traditional village cuisine. With the game goulash, only 5 or 6 pieces of meat ended up on the plate and even the side dishes served didn't fill you up. About 25 euros is a little too much for that. The burger is also overpriced at around €14.90 (previously €8.50). For the price I expect more than a frozen patty and ready-made buns from the supermarket (still taste good). Before the sale of the Harburg, the prices were reasonable, the enormous increase cannot be justified with the current inflation. I was satisfied with the service and the cuisine on my last visit in December. However, I don't want to know how the current radical change in personnel will work. The current development is a real shame. After all, people always enjoyed going to Harburg. The website also needs an update. The review is from November 2022. Now, May 2023, it seems to be a complete disaster.
