Gasthaus zum kühlen Grund in Balingen

I was here during my lunch break and ordered a Coke and a steak baguette. After more than 20 to 30 minutes, the customer next to me – who arrived well after me – already received his food. The waitress then asked me if I had ordered anything at all. To my surprise, I replied: "Yes – but I don't need anything else. My break is almost over. I'll pay for the Coke and leave." I was then able to pay and leave immediately. It's a shame that something like this happened. June 17, 2025 / 12:20 p.m.

We went to the Schützenhaus Frommern on May 1st with a group of 18 people. The food was average, but the service was terrible. Towards the end of our visit, the top half of the table ordered another drink, which the rest of us hadn't noticed. Naturally, the others wanted to order something too. The reaction of the not-so-friendly waiter was unbelievable. He snapped at us, saying he'd been there five minutes ago and now there's nothing left - it was tantamount to being thrown out. We've never been treated like that in a restaurant before. Most of us certainly won't be coming back.

We went there for free, the restaurant is permanently closed, unfortunately it's not on the homepage.

The food in the Bizerba canteen is very tasty, of good quality and I can only recommend it.
