Gasthaus zum Froschkönig in Lübbenau/Spreewald

Wir sind spontan während unserer Paddeltour am Froschkönig angehalten und waren rundum begeistert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, die Getränke und das Essen kamen schnell, und das Schnitzel war super lecker. Besonders schön fand ich, dass sich der Name „Froschkönig“ im gesamten Konzept widerspiegelt. Man merkt, dass hier mit viel Liebe zum Detail gearbeitet wird. Hervorheben möchte ich den Umgang mit einem kurzen Stromausfall während unseres Besuchs. Die Bedienung hat die Situation mit einer positiven Art gemeistert.

Waren heute mit dem Paddelboot vor Ort. Nach sehr kurzer Wartezeit einen Tisch zur Rush hour um 13 Uhr draußen bei bestem Wetter bekommen. Service war super und das Essen kam flott und wahr absolut Top. Wir kommen wieder

Da ist für jeden was dabei, Essen war sehr lecker. Von Services bis zum Ambiente alles super, kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hat unserer großen Gruppe schnell einen Platz gefunden. Die Bestellungen kamen schnell, die Größen waren passend und es hat allen geschmeckt! Es ist definitiv preiswert. Das Ambiente ist schön und ruhig. Ich fand es innen etwas dunkel.

Sehr freundliche Wirtsleute, die sich Zeit für große und vor allem kleine Gäste nehmen. Die kleine aber feine Speisekarte bietet solide regionele Spiesen. Empfohlen sei für die Unentschlossenen die Spreewaldvariation Froschkönig.

In Verbindung mit einer SpreewaldTour quer durch die Lausitz, ein absolutes "Muss". Die Verkostung ist ein Highlight. Mein Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert..(!)👌

Kleines feines Ausflugsziel mit Biergarten. Parkplätze und Abstellmöglichkeit für Fahrräder sowie Anlegeplatz für Paddelboote vorhanden. Für Unentschlossene gibt es den Froschkönigteller, Quark, Grützwurst, Schmorgurken, Matjes, Kartoffeln.

Lecker Essen, traumhaftes Haus direkt an der Spree, bei schönem Wetter einfach draußen sein Bier oder Kaffee genießen.

Sehr schön die Majo kamm aber nicht mit dem essen so wie der Gurkensalat!

Unfreundlich und völlig überfordert.

Wir haben Fisch gegessen. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

Das Essen ist durchschnittlich und die Preise dafür schon sehr hoch angesetzt. Etwas abenteuerlich finde ich dann, wenn man heutzutage keine Kartenzahlung anbietet. Auf der Paddeltour zurück nach Lübbenau finden sich gute Alternativen.

Wir haben hier mit unseren Booten zum Mittag angehalten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Karte ist überschaubar aber es ist für jeden was dabei. Die Speisen waren alle lecker und das Preis Leistung Verhältnis passt auch.

Wir waren am 25.09.25 mit 4 Pers. zum Mittag Gäste. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, super Essen und tolles Ambiente. Haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Das Essen war in Ordnung, nichts besonderes aber wirklich ok. Es war sehr voll, insofern volles Verständnis für längere Wartezeiten. Schade aber wenn man vom Service einfach ignoriert wird. Wir waren mit Kind und hatten um einen extra Teller und Besteck gebeten. Nach einem entsetzten Gesichtsausdruck der Kellnerin und einem unfreundlichen „aha ok“ kam - gar nix. Habe mir dann wie eine unbezahlte Servicekraft diese Dinge besorgen können. Wir wollten noch Mayo zu den Pommes, aber kommt ja keiner. Service wirklich ausbaufähig. Wenn zu viel los ist, sollte eine weitere Person eingestellt werden.

Absolut unfreundlich. 11 Personen wollten essen und trinken und durften nicht mal die Tische zusammen stellen. Es gibt doch noch Gaststätten die zu viel verdienen. Leider muß ein Stern vergeben werden. Selbst der ist schon zu viel.

Beautifully located directly on the Spree River in Leipe, with a spacious mooring – ideal if you arrive by boat. The setting is idyllic and almost romantic. The food was honest, down-to-earth, and regional – simple, but very tasty. This is exactly what you'd expect from good home cooking. The fair price/performance ratio matches this. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed, and you immediately feel at home. A great place to relax and enjoy the Spreewald.

After a long paddle, we docked. The Froschkönig is in a great location. We got a table almost immediately (two adults and two children). The staff was super friendly, and the food was okay. Our order arrived quickly. Many thanks to the very friendly staff.

This is absolutely unacceptable. Completely stressed and unfriendly service, no concept for table allocation, with incredibly long waits and dirty tablecloths that aren't changed. Prices are completely exorbitant just because everyone stops there...

For paddlers and boaters, you can also get there by bike or car.

The atmosphere at the Froschkönig is truly lovely. Since we heard it's a very popular restaurant in the Spreewald, we decided to have lunch there. There were four of us and we hadn't reserved a table. Of course, we were prepared to wait, as all the seats were taken when we arrived. Once we got a table, everything went pretty quickly: menu, drinks, food, and bill. After about 30 minutes, we were ready to leave. Our table was reassigned the moment we got up. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible for us to dine here in peace and enjoy the truly lovely atmosphere.

Definitely worth a visit. Recommended. Very good value for money.

So there the frog has his curls! Man, that was delicious and the beer was good too. I had a fries and the cucumber salad, it's simply amazing.

We love these Spreewald yeast pancakes! We go to Froschkönig at least once a year just for that. The Grützwurst is also delicious. The location on the Spree is simply fantastic, easily accessible by bike or canoe.

Docking with a canoe is a great option. The classic lunch was delicious and plentiful. The service was very attentive and always friendly despite the high volume of guests. I'd be happy to go back 😁

We are very disappointed with our experience here. First, we had to wait a very long time for a table. Then, there is no alternative payment method besides cash, which I think is outdated. At our small table, we were constantly being asked by others if someone could sit down or if a chair could be taken away. It was annoying. Later, the server, annoyed, slammed the chair back onto the table that had previously been taken away by guests, without comment or apology. The food itself was simple but good. The atmosphere was tense, loud, and the servers seemed very stressed.

Super delicious again, just like 2 years ago. And absolutely the best value for money in the heart of the Spreewald... Thanks, see you soon.

Four of us had lunch there on June 26th and 28th. The selection was overwhelming. There was something delicious to suit every palate, and it's important to mention that everything is prepared fresh and with love. The girls there are in charge of their "shop" at all times of the day and always strive to satisfy all guests. They even fulfill special requests. This restaurant is highly recommended. We would gladly return.

Arrived and left straight away... the fact that it is full on the bridge day is completely understandable and ok, but the innkeeper talking stupidly at you is not acceptable at all. It's a shame that you even have to give one star...

Super delicious food, this time for coffee. Very popular restaurant where service and ambience are also right. We would never be disappointed... I ride my bike a lot and stop there every now and then.

Cozy restaurant right on the water, we were only here on a short paddling stop. The service was a bit unfriendly because we initially only ordered drinks and didn't want to eat anything. It's a shame, unfortunately the points are deducted.

The meal “potatoes with quark” was average, I have to say. The quantity itself was appropriate, but the quark was hardly seasoned, tasted like nothing and there could have been a few more gherkins for the Spreewald. Unfortunately, payment is only possible in cash, which you don't know beforehand and so you'll get a surprise when you get there if you don't have that much cash in your pocket. When asked, there was no clear answer, but rather a few platitudes were given, saying that you had to pay 10% of the sum, etc...but this could also be added to the price. Otherwise it's a nice place, I have to say👍

Nice inn on the water, very busy, best to be there before 12 p.m. However, the prices are pretty wow for the small plate of pasta almost 8 euros oh well. A friend ate the fish platter, which was absolutely fine for the price and very tasty.

Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to eat at the Froschkönig - unfortunately it was completely full - but the innkeeper said goodbye to us (desperate) parents because our son was so hungry and there was nowhere to get anything to eat (since it was so overcrowded everywhere). As a consolation, an ice cream was given on the hand - what a lovely gesture!!! We hope it works out that we can come back and try the delicious looking and smelling food. Thank you again for this kind gesture - it is not a given in these times!!

A very cozy restaurant right on the water. After a short wait we were brought to a table, the food was ready quickly and delicious. The portions are also very sufficient. The waitresses were also friendly despite the stress. We'd love to come back.

Very, very disappointed - wouldn't even give it a ⭐️!!! We were there on Sunday July 28th. We were on a canoe trip in the Spreewald and wanted to stop here for dinner. ...we arrived there at 3:30 p.m. and even though it was open until 4 p.m. we were greeted very unfriendly and didn't even say a proper hello. When we asked if we could get something to eat, we were laughed at and said - yes, Wednesday half past 12!!! 🤐 That's not hospitality, the operators have definitely missed their job! When we asked if they could at least offer a little something to eat, they just left us standing there grinning! Half an hour before closing, turning away guests??? RUDE The inn was highly recommended to us by the boat rental company, but unfortunately it was a complete failure - we have never experienced anything like it!!! Not recommended, in our opinion!!! Ps: It's best to avoid the Frog Prince right away, because if you continue rowing along the canal to the right "towards the main Spree" there are still two options for stopping off, they know the word: hospitality!

Spent 3 nights here, owner very friendly, booked without breakfast, so I can't give any stars for the food. The room was very clean, the shower was modern, the rest was kept plain and simple, but we still really liked it. I am a smoker, have accepted the smoking ban at the facility and am outside the premises. We'll definitely come back again when we're on vacation in the Spreewald.

As a group of 8 with a good turnover, we were rudely shouted at because we allowed ourselves to fill a drinking bottle at the tap for the onward journey. There are still restaurants in the Spreewald that apparently prefer not to have guests.

Actually a nice place if you're not a paddler or cyclist, or don't speak German, or come at the wrong time (2:30 is really bad). We had ordered pike and zander fillet, apparently one of the fish was out. Only one was brought to us and sold as a small portion ("I thought they didn't eat that much"), but instead of 21.50 we were still charged 18.90 (half of the fish = 2.60 discount for half a portion).

A very nice place to stay. The food is always delicious, fresh and plentiful. For us it is always a must when visiting the Spreewald.

Very nice hidden inn. Typical Spreewald delicacies. Very friendly service. We can only recommend it. There was a delicious lollipop for the children at the end.

After our paddling tour, we ate a very tasty braised cucumber dish and drank a tasty Babben beer. Due to the high number of guests, we initially had to be patient to get a table and the further service was accordingly tight, but friendly. However, with such a rush, this is understandable and completely acceptable. We would come back next time.

Cute place and nice dishes choices. I took the Variation Froschkönig and I got to keep the little frog figurine that came with it 🐸❤️ The food was really interesting with 4 different food in the plate to go with potatoes. However the staff was a bit tense, not rude but not that welcoming either.

The black pudding was so good that I didn't have time to take a photo of the full plate :D I recommend it! Sehr lecker Grützwurst!

The Frog Prince is uniquely located, nice ambience and very friendly owners. The food was unique, the Spreewald buffet was also super good. You can also take a boat trip from Froschkönig, an experience. It's not overcrowded here, like other piers.

We read great reviews in advance and therefore hiked to Leipe. Unfortunately we were faced with closed doors as Monday and Tuesday are closed days. It would be nice if corresponding opening times could be found online.

After a bike ride we stopped at the Frog Prince for lunch. After a very friendly welcome, we took a seat in the idyllic garden. Our order was taken quickly and our drinks and food were on the table just as quickly. The food was fantastic and very tasty. Home-made food the way I want it, freshly prepared and wonderfully seasoned. The portions are plentiful and the prices are very fair. The service staff is very friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable and welcome here and would love to come back. Thank you for the wonderful meal on our tour ☺️

Tasty and affordable. You can grab something to eat during a break in your trip, whether by kayak or bike.

Food wasn't our taste. The children didn't like the pasta with tomato sauce. One of the waitresses was very friendly, the other one ignored us. Many guests by the boaters. You had to wait in line. Other tables were cordoned off, but probably would have been good.

We paddled from Raddusch to Leipe. Arrived hungry and thirsty and everything was packed. The service was great and had a place for us. The food is incredibly good. The next kayak tour will definitely pass there.

Nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the staff was very unfriendly. We were there with 5 children and wanted to order ice cream sundaes. First we were ignored for more than ten minutes, then we were rudely turned away. It's a shame, but that has nothing to do with customer service.

After several rather sobering attempts in other restaurants, a real highlight. Super nice service, delicious food that fills you up and a really nicely furnished and well-kept restaurant. The food is regionally typical and appealing. We had fried herring with fried potatoes and the Spreewald plate Froschkönig with a great selection, braised cucumber, quark with linseed oil and onions, grits sausage and matjes. Perfect! Plus a bog pear, absolute recommendation.
