Fast and nice service. Locally classic Bavarian. Food is okay, but unfortunately almost everything is frozen or ready-made. That's probably why it's so cheap

Very good price-performance ratio, huge portion, enough for us to eat twice, taste is fine, service is nice and friendly, ideal if you are very hungry after hiking or skiing.

With great expectations... ... we came here and were sobered up. Based on our experiences, we called in advance and wanted to reserve a table. During the phone call we were told to just come. That sounded like there were enough free spots. But when we arrived there were over ten people in the queue. We actually wanted to leave again, but we were afraid that we wouldn't be able to get a seat at another restaurant. Therefore we had to accept the time. While we were waiting we saw that there were Asian employees, so unfortunately we decided on the advertised Asian cuisine. We chose two different dishes with crispy duck. In summary we have to say that the duck itself was average, the rice was good - but the vegetables only had an Asian touch, otherwise normal shredded vegetables. Unfortunately, it was also totally over salted. And the sauce for one dish was so distasteful that we couldn't eat it. The service gets points of respect from us – we had an older lady as the waitress. We could clearly see the exertions of the day in her face and she was visibly exhausted and continued to work bravely. Respect for this achievement! When it comes to the “regional” dishes, we can only say that there seems to be a lot of emphasis on quantity and that visually large portions were served.

Beim Telefonat wurde uns gesagt, wir sollen einfach kommen. Das klang nach genügend freien Plätzen. Aber als wir ankamen, waren wir mit über zehn Leuten in der Warteschlange. Da wollten wir eigentlich wieder los, aber wir hatten die Befürchtung, in einem andere Lokal auch keinen Platz zu bekommen. Daher mußten wir die Zeit in Kauf nehmen. Während der Wartezeit haben wir gesehen, dass es asiatische Mitarbeiter gibt, daher haben wir uns dann leider für die beworbene asiatischen Küche entschieden. Wir haben zwei verschiedene Gerichte mit knuspriger Ente gewählt. Zusammenfassend müssen wir sagen, dass die Ente selbst Durchschnitt war, der Reis war gut – aber das Gemüse war nur asiatisch angehaucht, ansonsten ein normales gehobeltes Gemüse. Leider war das auch noch total versalzen. Und die Soße zu dem einen Gericht war auch so neben unserem Geschmack, dass wir diese nicht essen konnten. Der Service bekommt von uns Achtungspunkte – wir hatten eine ältere Dame als Bedienung. Ihr haben wir deutlich die Strapazen des Tages angesehen und sie war sichtbar erschöpft und hat tapfer weitergearbeitet. Respekt vor dieser Leistung! Bei den „regionalen“ Gerichten können wir nur sagen, dass hier anscheinend sehr auf Menge gesetzt wird und optisch große Portionen aufgetragen wurden.

This is my favorite host. The food here is of excellent quality, a huge selection, very large portions and the prices are surprisingly low.

We went to the inn twice during our stay in Aschau and the food was very good. The portions are generous and you need a lot of space in your stomach, but you can easily take any leftover food with you. There can be long waiting times between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The team is very hard-working and friendly, despite the full house. A lot of guests were there with dogs, which unfortunately led to loud barking.

Disappointing - rude, disinterested waiter and poor food

We've been to the Baumbacher Wirtshaus several times - the food, as always, was delicious and sumptuous! Unfortunately, despite the size of the inn, there is a lack of staff, as is the case almost everywhere. This then results in long waiting times from taking the order to serving it to paying. I felt sorry for the staff, some of whom were very young. In summary: absolutely great food but too hectic and loud for a cozy evening.

Super good value for money. We discovered the restaurant by chance after a hike and were very impressed. We went in at 5:05 p.m. shortly after it opened and there were about 5 people there. We were amazed that, in addition to good home-style food, there was also a rich Chinese selection. The portions are really generous, the meat and vegetables are fresh, if something was frozen you wouldn't notice it. We had Asian, beef in curry sauce for under 15 euros and crispy duck and chicken with vegetables and various meats for about 20. The offer of the day, 2 really large Wienerschnitzel with plenty of fries, was available for under 12 euros, vegetarian options are also available Cheese spaetzle for 9.80 looked good. The Chinese waiter was attentive and friendly. Full recommendation. For everything together we paid 45 euros with a tip.

I always enjoy coming to Baumbach to eat. What should be highlighted is the excellent cuisine, from home-style Bavarian to Asian (in the winter months) with a great price-performance ratio (it's best to take a food container with you or you're really hungry 😉). There is something for every taste here. The innkeepers and the service staff are all very friendly and hard-working. You can tell that they really make an effort to make you feel comfortable as a guest. Even at our big family gatherings, like this Christmas, everyone was happy with the choice of restaurant. Therefore 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 . There are disabled parking spaces in front of the entrance, so our relatives with disabilities didn't have to spend a long time looking for a parking space. The toilets are barrier-free and clean. Table reservations on weekends or public holidays definitely make sense.

Today we have found an economy where price performance absolutely matches. The inn is already getting an absolute wow from us. When come in there and just feel comfortable you will be warmly welcomed. The menu was delivered immediately and after a minute the drinks were at the table. The menu has a huge selection, you can't really get through it and you're asked what you would like, so we had to decide very, very quickly. The food took less than 10 minutes and was delivered super quickly and, above all, very, very hot. Look at the pictures of the food, it's incredible but all I can say is super super super delicious. The kitchen definitely gets 10* for the food. If you want to eat well and a lot, but above all with quality, go to this inn. I can only recommend it and the entire crew at this inn please keep it up.

After a hike, we spontaneously stopped at Baumbach. Despite the size of the restaurant, it has a cozy, stylish Bavarian atmosphere. Very well attended. Very good food (mushroom with large bread dumplings was delicious) and also good value for money. Outstandingly nice service. Recommended!

What can I say? A really nice beer garden! The waiter was really good and very friendly! The portions were very generous, many guests (as I noticed didn't finish the portions) and the price-performance ratio is still very good here. I can only recommend it! I would love to come back!

Unfortunately there is only pork schnitzel, not even Jägerschnitzel. The card expressly warns against your own wishes with an additional charge. The cream sauce had hardly any taste and the pepper cream sauce only tasted like pepper. Too bad, wouldn't come back.

We were just at the inn for lunch. Wow wow wow Simply thrilled, the staff was very friendly, nice and quick. The food was delicious, a lot (one portion is enough for normal eaters, for two). The price is great for the quality and quantity. When we come back, we'll come back.

Hungry after visiting the castle, we found the inn not far from the parking lot. Totally friendly welcome, taking a dog wasn't a problem. Fast service and very tasty food. We had schnitzel and turkey steak in a horseradish mustard crust. Large portions from the lunch menu. There is a large selection here and all dishes are 12.90. Great, would love to come back.

Simply recommended. It was a test attempt and I always enjoy it as a day trip when I'm nearby. Price-performance outstanding. The plate for two in the picture is easily enough for two. Nice, quick, good. Can't be done better

We have been coming here for years and have always been satisfied. Parking at the house and nearby. Shady beer garden with a small playground for the youngest. Good value for money. Quite generous portions. In our experience, the turkey dishes are particularly recommended. Friendly team. Child friendly. The Corona requirements are adhered to. Hygiene is also good. (Clean sanitary facilities) The only drawback would be that there is only cash payment!😉👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👋🏽

Everything is just right there. We had lunch in several restaurants in Aschau. Nowhere was it so good. I ate roast pork and my husband had pork schnitzel Viennese style. Both were a poem. 3 large lager together 36€. Today, on the last day, we are going again eat there

We went here for dinner today... It was really good... We ordered the gourmet platter for two people and a large salad bowl from the very attentive, friendly waiter. It tasted extremely good. Super good price/performance ratio… We will definitely come back.

Mass processing. Food tasteless, service nice. Great atmosphere for a real Bavarian inn. However, based on the reviews, we expected more and were disappointed. First I got the wrong dish even though the numbers were read out. My partner was almost finished when my real food arrived. The service apologized several times and yes, it can happen. But unfortunately, despite the great ambience, you felt like you were being mass processed. It was also questionable how the two meals could be on our table within about 8 minutes. Unfortunately, both were very tasteless (grill plate with fries & sesame turkey with spaetzle in cream sauce) - the meat was mass-produced, the sauce and meat were relatively tasteless, as if nothing had been seasoned. Too bad.

We were there for dinner yesterday. The portions are very large, the food was very tasty. Price performance is more than just top. The waiter was super friendly. The ambience is great, as it should be for a Bavarian inn. We'd love to come back.

Food was good, the outdoor area needs some love and the service was a bit careless/lackluster. My wife and I looked at each other in shock at the answers. You ask for a recommendation from the house and the answer is very brief: "Just read it, you'll find something." Funny kind.

Were sent away very unfriendly. Arrived at 2:05 p.m. and just wanted a drink. Food and drinks were served everywhere. After we walked past the counter and 3 other service staff and sat down, someone finally came to us and said that it was closed at 2 p.m. and that we should leave. The schnitzel was just being put on the table at the next table.

The better alternative if you don't want to stop at the alpine pastures on the Kampenwand. It's only a 5-10 minute walk from the Kampenwand car park if you're already standing there.

We are here on holiday and I have to say: in addition to the excellent (!!!) food, with large portions, everyone in the beer garden team is extremely friendly, with the right sense of humor, you just want to eat here every day on holiday :) We feel very comfortable here and can recommend it to everyone🥰 even with children!

Yesterday we visited the Wirtshaus zum Baumbach. An absolute disaster!!! It started with the fact that the table and benches were full of resin and my pants are now completely ruined - when I asked for a cushion, it was thrown at me carelessly by the absolutely unfriendly service!!! Now let's get to the food. We had 2x Zander fillet Müllerin style - potatoes were glassy and inedible, vegetables from the package and were rock hard - when we asked, the waitress replied very snippily "it's just al dente" - so it would have been nice to be al dente... As an alternative we wanted a salad - we got a ready-made salad from a jar. We would never come here again, nothing like that has ever happened to us!!!

Unfortunately, service was completely overwhelmed.

We went to the beer garden in 2021 and ate schnitzel. This year we are vacationing in Austria and have booked an overnight stay nearby just to enjoy the schnitzel and the beer garden again. I also remember an Asian waiter as being nice. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. 🙂 Addendum August 2023: Everything in the same top quality! Top!!
