Haven't eaten such delicious Greek food for a long time

Great Greek restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. They offer a variety of appetizers, meat, and fish dishes; I really enjoyed the gyro, which was crispy but still juicy due to its thickness. The interior is very nice, but a bit noisy when fully booked.

Great atmosphere, great service. The best beer garden, great, great family business. Safe, they cook everything themselves, eat everything prepared, and a large selection of fish.

No! I ordered a gyro - it arrived unexpectedly after about 5-6 minutes with a small portion of fries and an even smaller portion of tzatziki: lukewarm, barely seasoned, consisting of pork and poultry(!), and with a thick black crust - the worst gyro I've ever been served. We didn't finish the already modest portion and paid €28(!!!) including a drink. The otherwise obligatory welcome drink at Greek restaurants wasn't served - nor was there a question about whether it was tasty. A colleague from Greece who was eating there that same evening with his family was served enthusiastically, also paid only €30 per person, and raved about the sumptuous food and the personal service. So, is it only a good place for Greeks? Never again for me.

Medieval, rustic ambiance. Ordered a gyro. The food came very quickly. The meat was barely seasoned and lukewarm. The portion was sufficient. The gyro consisted of turkey and chicken. The texture was rubbery at times. Overall, a very poor gyro overall. There won't be a repeat. The price is too high for the value offered. A shame...

We usually go to this restaurant quite often. Yesterday, however, we were disappointed. The waitress practically ignored us, and we waited forever for food and drinks. The price increase on the menu was immediately noticeable. Zorbas has always been more expensive than other local competitors, but now we're already entering the "luxury" price range. When the food arrived, we were surprised that no side salad was served. When we asked, we received the following answer: This has to be ordered separately; it's no longer included with the new menu. Conclusion: You now get a mediocre meal for a higher price without salad. A mixed grill for €24.50, an additional tzatziki for €6.90!!! and, if you wish, a side salad for a good €6-7. You can imagine what a family will end up with. The drink prices are also quite high. A 0.4-liter Diet Coke costs €5.50, while a 0.5-liter sweet cider costs only €5.00. It's incomprehensible why alcohol is served at a lower price than soft drinks. We'll check out the competitors first. It's a shame...

One last attempt. The reviews from the last four months speak for themselves. The gyros were very dry. The service was unfriendly. The ambiance is undoubtedly nice – but unfortunately, it's no longer enough.

Unfortunately, it's not a place for everyone. The service was mediocre. When I asked for a vegan dish, the only response was "nothing available." My request to ask the chef if he could do anything was followed up, but the waitress returned after 30 seconds. So, no thought was given to the matter. The answer was again "nothing available"... I ended up eating fries like I'd eat at a fast food restaurant. So, this restaurant is definitely not recommended if you expect good service and a bit of individuality; McDonald's or Burger King offer the same level of service.

We've eaten at the Krone several times, but unfortunately, today was the second time we were completely disappointed. The food isn't as good as it used to be, and the value for money isn't right at all. Drinks are completely overpriced at €5.50 / €5.90 for a 0.4 liter. We won't be visiting this restaurant again.

Today we were in Bad Nauheim at Zorbas (Zur Krone). We were greeted very warmly by the junior chef, and later by the senior chef, and were given a very nice table in the restaurant without a reservation. We had a fantastic meal, and the entire staff created a great atmosphere! The entire meal, from starters to dessert, was simply fantastic! Just go there and enjoy.

It's okay. The food is good, but too small and way too expensive. Drinks at €5.50 is outrageous. The restrooms are extremely small, you can barely get in. The staff is friendly.

The two of us had lunch in the beer garden on Sunday. The service was a bit slack, no request for further drinks during the meal. The food was mixed, fried potatoes and fries were good, salad was a bit simple (I don't think iceberg lettuce with a few carrots etc. is appropriate in a restaurant like this). I found a small dark hair in my salad. The meat of the main course was warmed up (dried out) and only a sparrow or a mouse could have been satisfied with the amount of tzatziki, which is a shame! There was very little tzatziki with the gyro plate and other meat dish we ordered. We found the drinks (2x juice spritzer) for €5.90 each overpriced! No “greetings from the house” at the beginning or “something a little alcoholic” at the end as is usual in other Greek or Italian restaurants. Nor did the waiter, who seemed somewhat bored, ask when clearing the plates after the main course whether it could be a dessert or a drink or a café, espresso or something similar. There was a sign outside the restaurant offering asparagus with the meal, but there was no mention of it in the menu or an insert about additional seasonal or regional dishes. Tablecloth not clean, it's a shame, you should be able to do more with such a beautifully laid out restaurant with a great beer garden. We won't be coming back, even if we live locally.

Food was okay. Prices are a bit high for the size of the portions. Service was sometimes intrusive and unpleasant.

The waiter forgot to pass our order on to the kitchen. After being informed, we received no feedback as to when our ordered food could be ready. When we pointed out that we would then like to pay and give the restaurant a negative rating, the boss yelled at us because of the bad rating he had announced. Indescribably bad way of dealing with your own failures.

The two of us had lunch and the food was delicious 😋. The prices are slightly higher but definitely reasonable. But what disappointed me a bit 😞 was that you weren't offered ouzo at the end. I know this from most Greek restaurants. But whatever.

After we fell terribly into it years ago and left the restaurant without anything to eat (the review can still be found under the 1 stars), my mother still invited me back to Christmas dinner at the Zorbas Zur Krone inn. Well, maybe something has changed, so we were there yesterday with 12 people. Drinks came quickly and it took about an hour for the starters. When the main courses came, I unfortunately had to answer the waiter's friendly question as to whether everyone had what they wanted with no. The reason quickly became clear: my food was simply forgotten. In order not to spoil the mood, I stayed seated and after everyone else had eaten, I finally got the goose I ordered. The dish (goose breast and leg with dumplings and red cabbage) was on a special menu and advertised on a board outside the restaurant. My mother immediately asked where the sauce was, because it was really homeopathically spread on the plate and hardly visible. When I took the completely limp skin off the piece of goose breast and tried the meat, only one question came to mind: how do you get goose breast so tough, dry and hard? It didn't matter that the red cabbage was cold because we left after more than 2 hours and I ate a bratwurst at the Christmas market. For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that my mother later received a bottle of red wine and a voucher for a meal as an apology. I don't know whoever wants to redeem this voucher, I'm not 100% sure.

Wir waren über Wochenende auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt. Haben beide Souvlaki gegessen. Vom Grill wären sie noch besser gewesen. Beilagen Salat war gut, der Service aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Stühle bzw. Sessel sind sehr gemütlich. Die Toiletten sind modern und sehr sauber. Alles in allem ein sehr angenehmer Restaurantbesuch.

Always a highlight! The food is delicious and can only be recommended. The staff very accommodating and friendly. The chef himself welcomes his guests personally and has a chat or two. Highly recommended - highly recommended as a Greek in the area!

The food was OK. Okay means everyone has eaten. Nobody left the restaurant and said "Wow, I want to go back there.". This is partly due to the unfriendliness of the gentleman who hosted us. I wanted to celebrate my 40th birthday with the people who are close to my heart. I fulfilled this, but when you ask for plates for a cake you brought yourself, which is clearly more than appropriate on a 40th birthday, even in a "foreign" restaurant, you should, can and MAY, even MUST, expect friendliness. That was exactly not the case. A long face and the plates were only handed out reluctantly. Only after the host offered to get a piece of cake himself did something that could be called a smile appear. Furthermore, a “Cola” made from syrup and slightly carbonated water for €5.50 is completely unacceptable. I can neither recommend this nor will I be a guest here again. It's a shame, because you certainly won't expand your customer base that way.

If you like Greek cuisine, you will love it here! The portions are more than sufficient and super tasty! You can also feel the Greek flair here and you can relax very well. If I'm back in Bad Nauheim I'll definitely go there again! Many thanks to the nice staff!

Were there on Saturday, ordered food once souvlaki and once a kind of grill plate souvlaki came, the second meal was a schnitzel I took it and wanted to eat it with my husband, everything was carelessly prepared and totally overpriced. So once and never again. Normally they wouldn't have deserved any trouble.

The food was okay, but unfortunately I had to wait an hour for my food. As an apology, my wife and I were offered an Ouzo and a Bailey, which we gladly accepted. The only mistake was that the drinks didn't come. When we saw that the bartender always got his ice for the drinks from the basin where the bottles were cooled, we were horrified. Zorbas is actually a nice restaurant, but these mistakes aren't possible. The organization reaches its limits when there is a lot of activity. A pity

Das Essen war okay, ich musste allerdings leider eine Stunde auf mein Essen warten. Als Entschuldigung wurden meiner Frau und mir ein Ouzo und ein Bailey angeboten was wir gerne annahmen. Der Fehler war nur, die Drinks kamen leider nicht. Als wir dann sahen, dass der Barkeeper sein Eis für die Drinks immer aus dem Becken holte wo auch die Flaschen gekühlt wurden, waren wir entsetzt. Eigentlich ist das Zorbas ein schönes Lokal aber diese Fehler gehen gar nicht. Die Organisation kommt bei viel Betrieb an Ihre Grenzen. Schade

Very nice service. I really like eating gyros, even as gyros in metaxa sauce. However, this is not recommended under any circumstances. The three of us ordered the dish independently of each other. It turned out that this smell was obviously the leftover meat ramp. Lumps of fat, some bones and lots of cartilage. Didn't think this restaurant could afford to lose customers this way.

Definitely the first and last time there. Waiting almost an hour for two simple lunch dishes is completely absurd. What annoys me the most is the fact that when I came in I asked if you could have lunch... To say after about 30 minutes that it will take a few more minutes because everything is made fresh is also a bit ridiculous, since in a restaurant I assume that it is always made fresh. The announced few minutes were more like another 20 minutes…. Ultimately, these were two simple dishes. Bifteki and gyros. Nobody even asked if you liked it. Behavior like this always makes me a little suspicious.

Hm yes, location is good, beer garden, sitting outside, possible here, service somewhere between inattentive and disinterested as soon as you sit down, Eat ... Our two dishes were good in terms of quantity, but unfortunately quite tasteless and comparatively expensive.

Went for lunch today, Musaka was unfortunately sold out, I took Bifteki, it was the best thing I've ever eaten!

Traditional restaurant in Bad Nauheim. Greek cuisine for a long time. Super tasty and the service is always attentive and friendly. The outside area is huge, nice atmosphere and you should definitely make a reservation for the weekend. Parking is a bit difficult in front of it, but it is within walking distance from Parkstrasse.

Friendly greeting from the waiters at the entrance to the beer garden, next door is the inn, attentive waiter who brought us the drinks and food. Zucchini and eggplant with garlic tasted delicious. Was there on 4/8/24. The toilet can be reached via 2-3 steps down, was clean, smelled good. We'd love to come back. Parking lots available

My wife and I went there for dinner on February 24, 2024. I had suflaki (17.50€!), my wife had gyros (17.90€!!!). The meat on my skewers was completely cooked and dry - the gyro was still half raw. For 2 people with drinks almost €60 is just not reasonable. However, we have been there several times in the last few years and have always been satisfied... Prices and performance simply don't match anymore - it's a shame.

In general, the food is very tasty and plentiful, but the prices are already very high. E.g. Gyros with Metaxa sauce costs €19.90 and pork fillet in a mushroom cream sauce costs €21.90. I understand the high additional costs, but the surcharge is too much. We won't be coming back, even though we've been there many times...

The food was very tasty. However, the service was not what you would expect. The two waiters often stood around and talked to each other. I wish they would have asked every now and then if everything was okay, if we wanted something or something. Even when you raised your arm, they continued to traipse together and didn't notice that we wanted to. That was too bad. Ambience was okay, but could have had more flair.

Wir waren am 1. Weihnachtstag im Zorbas essen. Leider war das Essen im allgemeinen sehr dürftig gewürzt. Ein Teller kam leider kalt am Tisch an. Ein Rumpsteak wurde medium bestellt um kam leider fast durch an. Auch Teile der Beilagen waren nicht wie gewünscht. Es war nicht schlecht aber auch nicht so besonders gut. Gegen den Service und das Ambiente kann man nichts sagen.

The internal decor was a tad overbright. The building is itself stunning and fascinating but maybe this hasn't been painted in the most complimentary way. The staff were helpful and the food was good.

Besonders gut im Sommer wenn man den Biergarten nutzen kann

Wir haben uns auf eine Mittagsgans sehr gefreut, leider waren sehr ettäuscht. Die Gänsebrust war ausgetrocknet, ohne Geschmack, die Haut nicht knusprig, leider nichts Frisches - nur aufgetaut und aufgewärmt. Klöße und Rotkraut waren in Ordnung. Von uns geäusserte Unzufriedenheit wurde lauwarm angenommen. Wir waren schon mal in dieserm Sommer mit dem Essen hier unzufrieden. Früher eine sehr gute Gaststätte unter dem neuen Pachter leider nicht mehr Besuch Wert.

Seit Jahren bin ich ein Gast dort. Es ist immer Platz und wenn es aufgrund der hohen Nachfrage und der Auslastung des Lokals keinen gibt, wir Platz geschaffen. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet und für mich der beste Grieche den es gibt. Es ist unglaublich lecker, das Personal ist mehr als freundlich - und nicht gespielt, da es einfach nette Menschen sind. Ich kann es jedem nur raten dort zu essen.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal, alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr hochwertige Möbel und sehr einladend für einen gemütlichen Abend.

Ich war am Freitag den 20.10.23 mit einem langjährigen Freund dort essen. Das Essen war sehr gut, dagegen ist nichts zu sagen. Allerdings ließ der Service zu wünschen übrig. Plötzlich legte man uns die Rechnung hin, mit der Bitte, doch schon zu bezahlen. Der Kellner hatte es sehr eilig damit, denn eigentlich wollten wir getrennt bezahlen. Mein Freund bezahlte dann alles komplett und ich habe ihm meinen Anteil dann wieder gegeben. Wir wurden auch nicht mehr gefragt ob wir noch etwas trinken wollten. Dann wurde schon mal "rein versehentlich" das Licht kurz aus und angemacht um uns daran zu erinnern, das wir jetzt doch bitte zu gehen haben. So kann man Gäste auch raus kehren. Wir beide jedenfalls waren ziemlich sauer und werden uns nächstes Mal ein anderes Lokal aussuchen.

Es ist ein sehr schönes, altes , uriges Lokal. Wenn ich in Bad Nauheim würde ich zu jeder die Krone aufsuchen.

Sehr aufmerksame Mitarbeiter. Der eigene Wein Mostra nur zu empfehlen. Vom Essen ganz zu schweigen, nur zu empfehlen.

Update 2023: Leider muss ich meine Bewertung aktualisieren. Ich war nach 2-3 Jahren wieder mal in der Krone. Der Geschmack hat nachgelassen. Auch die Portionen sind für den Preis definitiv zu klein. Schade! 3/5 ——- Wir haben im Außenbereich gesessen. Sehr schön! Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen (Bifteki & Dionysos-Teller) war sehr gut! Preis-Leistung stimmt auch! 5 Sterne!

If you read my views, you know that I am a big food and I take my reviews seriously. Ok, the place is very cozy and the staff are extremely friendly. We visited this place during the Elvis festival so there was a lot going on. I ordered the lamb pieces with steak and potatoes. Ok, I thought I was getting a sharma tasting dish, but the steak was a lean hamburger, and the lamb was good but little taste. The others who ordered the lamb gave their portions to me, as they said it was a bit fatty. Didn't notice it was fatty but again very little taste. Good note, wife ordered the musaka and she thought it was wonderful. Two dishes and two beers came out to 54 euros. A bit spendy for Germany but this was Elvis week but when I eat international, I expect my socks to be blown off.
