Wir waren wie immer sehr zufrieden, auch die Portionsgröße ist mehr als ausreichend. Wir gehen schon sehr sehr lange ins Gasthaus Settele und waren noch nie enttäuscht, auch das Servicepersonal ist immer sehr aufmerksam. Danke für das tolle Mittagessen zu unserem Hochzeitstag.

Wie immer stimmig. Leider gab eine Unstimmigkeit mit der Platzreservierung bzw. dem erbetenen Tisch, die aber mit etwas Kompromissbereitschaft gemeinsam mit der Chefin des Hauses den Aufenthalt nicht beeinträchtigt haben☺️

The interior design is truly unique, and I've known the restaurant since around 2019, having been there on and off over the years. The portions have become really small/expensive, and the food isn't anything special anymore... I practically had to search for the mushrooms, the Spätzle were fluffy but somehow lacked any real flavor. The service was slow and inattentive; it was only half full, but the wait times were unacceptable. In my opinion, the trend here is slowly but surely going DOWN. What a shame! Addendum: Even the restaurant's response negates my observations and portrays it all as nonsense... I'm voting with my feet, simply not going there anymore, and am reducing my service rating from 2 stars to 1.

Yesterday, delicious duck with potato dumplings and red cabbage. Absolutely wonderful! First, a beef strudel soup, a) piping hot – essential for a soup, and b) the beef broth was beautifully natural, very clear, and not over-seasoned. A rarity these days, fantastic, thank you! One small drawback – the service was rushed, which is unnecessary. The soup was cleared away, and the next thing I knew, the duck was on the table. That was far too fast; I would have appreciated being asked when I would like the main course. All in all – very tasty food, good service, genuine hospitality. What more could you ask for?! Thank you very much!

Das Essen war an sich gut, nur die Ente war bisschen zäh. Den Service empfanden wir als aufdringlich. Ständig wurde man erinnert, dass man doch nur bis zu einer gewissen Uhrzeit nur den Tisch hat. Das störte irgendwie die Stimmung am Tisch, wodurch auf eine Nachspeise oder Wein verzichtet wurde. Man hatte das Gefühl von Massenabfertigung, Hauptsache schnell den Tisch freimachen für neue Gäste.

Von klein bis groß: der Besuch war ein voller Erfolg. Das Essen, einfach eine Top Qualität und Genuss pur. Der Service: perfekt auf den Tisch „abgestimmt“- da hat alles gepasst. Der Besuch im „Settele“ war ein voller Erfolg Herzlichen Dank für ein tolles Erlebnis.

A fantastic inn with a beautiful ambiance, catastrophic parking, and truly terrible food. What a disappointment with such good reviews! The veal schnitzel for €28.50 consisted of three small slices of veal (maximum 100g combined) thickly coated in greasy breadcrumbs. It was served with an indefinable, fried mass of mushy potatoes and onions. It's truly unfortunate that such a well-known, traditional Allgäu inn doesn't even know the basics of Alpine cuisine and serves such poor quality and quantity for such a high price. You really don't need to drive all the way to Haunstetten and spend a long time looking for a parking space, as the inn's parking spaces also belong to the tennis club and are almost always occupied.

Ein großes Dankeschön an alle, bis zum nächsten Mal!!

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was very peaceful, and the service was super friendly. One thing I found odd: we didn't find any drinks on the menu, only wine and one or two beers—so we didn't know the prices of the drinks we ordered. We ordered two main courses, two desserts, and two drinks, and paid €80. It was worth it. We'll probably be back. Thank you.

Awesome - service. Amazing - ambiance - really nice. Everything was good. Classic home-style cooking, with a creative selection of special treats. Regarding food intolerances, the chef even came to our table himself! The service was fantastic. We had a reservation for 8 people. The service was incredibly friendly – ​​children are welcome. We were very well looked after – the food was very good value for money, and the drinks were modern and delicious. The desserts were delicious; more selection would have been nice, but not too distracting. The hazelnut parfait was a feast for the eyes with the freshest fruit!

The inn meets all the expectations of those who value quality. The food tastes excellent. The menu is minimalist, which isn't a disadvantage in this case. The veal liver is highly recommended. The bread dumpling lasagna with chanterelle mushrooms is also imaginatively prepared and presented. The service is friendly and competent. In summary: A restaurant with a high standard.

The ambiance and food were fantastic (especially the Sauerbraten and Spätzle were divine!). Above all, we'd like to highlight the child-friendliness. From the children's menu and cutlery to the clever high chairs that attach to the chairs, the cute play area, and the free scoop of ice cream for dessert, everything was perfectly tailored to our little guests. We didn't find a changing area (but we didn't ask and found another way; there probably would have been one). It's a huge plus that it works so well that even the littlest ones can enjoy eating out. Thank you so much for this, and keep up the good work!

Visited the beer garden at lunchtime. We weren't given a drinks menu and had to guess what drinks were available, but the tables next to us were different. We were "served" by two female waitresses who took turns. Other guests were asked which degree of doneness was acceptable... we weren't! We ordered rump steak and roast beef with onions. My change to the roast beef with onions: instead of cheese spaetzle, please have regular spaetzle. As a result, no fried onions were served, but the staff asked if I wanted some, as they "are only served with cheese spaetzle" (they were served again after a few minutes because I already wanted them!). The very young, female waitress was very nice, I must say. The food was very good, but not perfect! The spaetzle were overcooked. The herb butter with the rump steak was good, but not the best. A steak knife was offered during the meal... The side salad was great! BUT: Very small portions (I'm usually a "light eater"). Far too little sauce! The price for the food was too high. AND: In this restaurant, they seem to pick their guests and treat them accordingly, which I find rather unpleasant. There were hardly any guests when we visited. We didn't pay any less than the others... On our first visit to this restaurant, I thought: It must be because of the high number of customers, the hectic pace, etc. But on our second visit, we realized: No! Conclusion: Some of the waiters and managers are rude, making it clear that you're not a welcome guest. I find this unacceptable, and I will communicate this accordingly.

The food is still excellent, and the menu is truly fantastic. However, the shrinking portions, especially the onion roast beef, and the rising prices are causing us to stop visiting the restaurant. We always enjoyed the place; the food is excellent, and the beer garden is especially great, but unfortunately, the price and portion are no longer in proportion!

We can confirm the light and shade. We were out cycling yesterday and stopped at short notice. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were only assigned a table shaded by an umbrella, even though there were plenty of seats available and we had specifically asked if we could sit under a tree. Apparently, everyone had reserved a table... the next people who arrived without a reservation got a table like that 😉. The portions are small, but the food is very good. Non-alcoholic beer is more expensive than regular beer.

Wenn man sich etwas unterscheidet von den scheinbar "herkömmlichen" Gästen, wird man entsprechend herablassend behandelt, so war unser Eindruck. An den Nebentischen wurde eine Getränkekarte serviert...uns nicht, wir durfen raten was es an Getränken gibt! Obwohl wir Rumpsteak und Zwiebelrostbraten bestellt haben wurden wir nicht nach einem Gargrad gefragt, die Nebentische schon... ein Steakmesser wurde von einer jüngeren Bedienung angeboten, nachdem das Essen längst serviert wurde (die jüngere Servicekraft war freundlich). Zum Zwiebelrostbraten wollte ich normale Spätzle, keine Käsespätzle! Röstzwiebeln wurden erst nicht serviert, da diese in DIESEM Restaurant eigentlich nur in Verbindung mit Käsespätzle serviert werden, hieß es... Spätzle waren zu weich, kleine Portionen, zu wenig Soße, aber die Preise sind unangemessen hoch. Waren zum 2. und letzten Mal in diesem Restaurant. Beim 1. Mal war es ähnlich, aber wir dachten damals, bei so viel Betrieb kann etwas schief gehen. Obwohl wir von einer älteren Dame entsprechend gemustert und kühl verabschiedet wurden, die Chefin? Dieses Mal waren ganze 3 andere Tische voller Gäste.... aber es war schlimmer als beim 1. Mal. Nie wieder! Gastfreundlichkeit null Punkte!!!!

Alles bestens: Reservierung, den besten Tisch erhalten, freundlicher, aufmerksamer Kellner, leckeres, perfekt zubereitetes Essen... Wir kommen gerne wieder!

The ups and downs of visiting an ambitious restaurant The first impression of the restaurant was promising: a stylish ambiance, a pleasant atmosphere, and a culinary concept that clearly focuses on quality and refinement. The food was consistently delicious, lovingly prepared, and well-balanced in flavor. However, one shouldn't expect portions like those at a Greek or classic Balkan restaurant—they practice restraint here, which isn't for everyone. The vegetarian selection was unfortunately quite limited. Besides a cold gazpacho as an appetizer, there were only two main courses to choose from: cheese spaetzle with mountain cheese—quite heavy and very carbohydrate-heavy—and a small chanterelle lasagna, which, while finely seasoned, was manageable in terms of quantity and variety. A more balanced selection, such as light vegetable dishes or vegetarian alternatives with fish or pulses, would have been desirable. The smoke from outside detracted from the otherwise positive dining experience. Cigarette smoke drifted through the open sliding door several times, which was not only unpleasant but also significantly diminished the appetite for the high-quality food. The restaurant urgently needs to find a solution for the benefit of all guests – fresh air is a basic right that should also apply while dining. The staff was friendly but somewhat inattentive. While we received the menu quickly, we had to ask for the drinks menu. The lighting of the table candles also took a noticeably long time – a minor detail, but one that contributes to the overall quality of service. The restaurant has potential and offers a wealth of delicious food. However, some organizational weaknesses and external distractions mar the experience. With a little more attention to service and a clear concept for ventilation and smoking regulations, this could become a truly excellent place for gourmets.

One word: Brilliant! We visited for the first time as part of the Fine Dine Box and are convinced: The best home-style food in and around Augsburg. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and super delicious, regional food! We'll be back.

Wir waren heute zum wiederholten Male mit unseren Freunden beim Settele. Eigentlich waren wir bis heute mit Service,Leistung und Preis sehr zufrieden. Aber heute war es nicht so. Wir wurden von der Bedienung im Außenbereich nach einer höflichen Nachfrage bezüglich eines anderen Platzes (hatten reserviert, es waren fast alle anderen Tische leer und nur unserer in der Sonne) weder dann noch beachtet bzw. bedient. Erst nach Nachfrage bei einem Kollegen kam sie wieder auf uns zu . Als wir dann gezahlt haben und am Gehen waren kam die Chefin zu uns und meinte was denn los sei. Wir haben ihr den Vorfall geschildert, leider war keine Einsicht bzw. Kritikannahme seitens der Gastgeberin zu erkennen . Stattdessen wurde mit den Augen gerollt und uns unterstellt, dass wir eine schlechte Bewertung geschrieben haben („es wurde ihr so von jemanden erzählt“). Dies war bisher wirklich nicht der Fall, sondern wir haben das Lokal durchwegs nur empfohlen. Schade wir haben uns eigentlich immer wohlgefühlt, sind gern mit Freunden gekommen haben das Lokal gern weiter gegeben, trotz höheren Preisen, aber das war einfach nur enttäuschend. Wie werden uns auf alle Fälle nach einem anderen Lokal umsehen.

We went there for dinner with friends today. We had reserved a table, and when we arrived, all the tables were in the shade and the outside area was almost empty, except for the one we had been assigned, which was in the sun. We also had a baby with us. After we politely asked if we could be seated elsewhere, we were told no, as everything was reserved. However, many of the tables remained empty until we left, and another man and his partner were also allowed to move. We were also deliberately not served again, so we had to actively request another option to order something. At the end, the manager even came up to us and asked us why we weren't satisfied. However, there was absolutely no acceptance; instead, we were actually accused of "writing a bad review; someone had told her so." This had not actually been the case up to that point, as we had always recommended the restaurant despite the higher price category. Unfortunately, the behavior of the waitress and the manager today was so negative that we will definitely look for another restaurant and will not be dining here again. It's a shame, because we had a reservation for next week.

Two of us were guests yesterday and were very pleasantly surprised! Our waiter (Mr. Berthold) was the icing on the cake of an overall very pleasant evening! The modern ambiance with lots of wood, extravagant lighting, and stylish fresh flowers invites you to linger and feel at home. The food was excellent in terms of taste, size, freshness, and appearance. And our waiter definitely deserves more than five stars! He invested his time without being intrusive. He was flexible and humorous, offering culinary recommendations as well as tips for visiting with children and choosing a table. Simply perfect for the job! Thank you for the wonderful evening and the delicious food! We'd love to come back! 😊

We recently visited Settele for the first time. Initially, we were a bit annoyed because, as soon as we arrived at our table, we noticed the unpleasant bass from a stereo system. You could barely hear a melody, but the rhythm was very unpleasant. It almost tempted us to get up and eat somewhere else. But when we asked the waiter to turn the music down, he did so immediately and turned the system off completely. After that, nothing stood in the way of a relaxed meal. We ordered veal liver and a pasta dish with asparagus and kohlrabi. Both were excellent, cooked to perfection, and well-seasoned. The two desserts (cold espresso with ice and iced tiramisu) were also wonderful. The service wasn't the fastest, but it was very friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern and rather dark. We found it very pleasant that the tables aren't too close together, and you don't get the impression that every square inch is being used to maximize sales. The background music is annoying (as in most restaurants), but it was turned off here at our request. It wasn't very busy that evening (a weekday, just before 7 p.m.), and the other guests didn't seem to care. I've never met anyone who complained about no music playing in a restaurant. The opposite is certainly true, though. Many people find the din annoying, and older people in particular have difficulty communicating with their counterparts or concentrating on the menu. Unfortunately, most guests don't dare to ask for quiet. If you want to be exposed to background music, you can always go to a club or a music bar. However, in my opinion, an upscale dining experience contradicts this. Overall, our first visit to Gasthaus Settele was very enjoyable. Next time, we'll try the terrace, hopefully when the weather is nice! It would be desirable for every restaurant to offer a non-sound area and to also provide information about it on their website. I'm sure that would appeal to many people. And who knows? Perhaps the demand for quiet seats will be so great that the area will be expanded to include the entire restaurant...

We've been sitting in front of empty plates and empty drinks for half an hour. After we said we would have something to drink, no one came by for half an hour. It's a shame, because the food was very tasty but the rest is an insult to the guest.

Ein sehr schönes Ambiente in einem traditionellen Gasthaus. Die freundliche Bedienung hat uns den Platz gezeigt und gleich die Speisekarte gereicht. Nach der Speisekarte wurden gleich die Getränke abgefragt, welche zeitnahe gebracht wurden. Es gab auch noch eine persönliche Empfehlung zum Essen. Das Essen, was wir bestellt haben, war geschmacklich und von der Portion sehr gut. Auch die Nachspeise das Eis mit heißen Himbeeren war sehr lecker. Alles in allem stimmig und geschmacklich auf einem top Niveau.

We went to the spice tasting seminar today. It was incredibly refreshing, educational and great. Led by the boss Stefan Settele himself. We really liked the ambience in the blue salon. We got to know lots of great new spices and, among other things, created our own spice dust for the starter (soup). The other courses with different spice combinations were also super tasty. Individual requests regarding allergies/diets were also taken into account! Thanks for the great experience. We can only recommend it! :-) Many greetings Claudia & Patrick

We had a wonderful birthday party today at the Settele Inn. We were able to spend the time in the very beautiful dark blue hall. The food was excellent from starters to dessert. The service was great, not intrusive but still attentive! A fairly inconspicuous building from the outside, a very stylish restaurant from the inside! All in all, highly recommended. Only the parking situation is a bit difficult.

Das Essen war hervorragend und das Fleisch wie bestellt auf den Punkt zubereitet. Lediglich der Tisch stand etwas ungünstig und es hat jedes Mal gezogen, wenn jemand zur Tür reingekommen ist. Das war aber nur ein klitzekleiner Makel, der durch das Essen beiweitem wettgemacht wurde.

So so so delicious! A culinary delight. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. Fish platter and salad with mushrooms, served with delicious, crusty bread. We'll be back soon ☺️ Addendum 2025: I am now vegan and since there was no vegan dish on the menu, a super delicious meal was conjured up especially for us. Once again I realized that it really is top class here. All of our friends were very satisfied.

Die Karte ist überschaubar, aber das Essen und die Qualität des Essens ist sehr gut. Die Preise für das Essen schon gehoben, aber für die Qualität des Essens angemessen.

Ich bin immer sehr zufrieden. Besonders ist der Zwiebelrostbraten zu empfehlen. Unser Kellner war absolute Spitze. Sehr schön ist das Frau Settele Sen. immer persönlich anwesend ist.

Hello. I have never eaten such an expensive pork chop with fried potatoes. The price of 26 euros is too much, plus a small beer was 30 euros. It may have been tasty, but not worth the money. A big minus for the prices.
