Delicious food, great beer garden, good value for money

Simply perfect. The schnitzel was more delicious than a cutlet (it was a bit dry), but still delicious.

Beautiful beer garden despite its location in an industrial park. Cleverly separated by hedges, it's easy to find space without the beer garden feeling fragmented. The menu offers a few surprises alongside the usual hearty dishes. The food was delicious, and the service is reminiscent of the waiter in a Cologne brewery.

Today we were in the beer garden for the first time in a while, which brings us to the first problem: the flow of drinks is pretty abysmal. We barely managed to get two rounds of food while eating, but despite the empty glasses, nothing happened. Perhaps they didn't want to sell drinks. I know it differently. We had schnitzel. The schnitzels used to be bigger than the plates, but now the plates are bigger, and only a good handful of fries completes the "experience." These days, they're only living off the "glory" of days gone by. From now on, though, without us!

German style restaurant. The schnitzel was good. The Kaiserschmarnn was not that great tbh. And most likely not freshly made. Service was swift and efficient

Three years ago, I gave a good review. But now I'm very disappointed! The chevre I ordered was burnt on the surface, the salad was served unappetizingly, and the second meal, broad beans with sausage and mashed potatoes, was only warm. It was all forgettable.

Good-quality, down-to-earth cuisine. Friendly and fast service. The menu offers a wide variety, with something for everyone. The kitchen and service seem to work very well together.

We went there today on a recommendation. We can only recommend it. Very friendly service. The owner and chef even came to our table. The selection is huge, and there's also a daily special. The price/performance ratio was excellent. The food arrived quickly. Plenty of it and it was very tasty. We would love to come back. Highly recommended.

I've always been very satisfied, but not today. The knuckle of pork was inedible and I didn't like it at all. My wife was first delivered the wrong meal, and then they brought fries instead of croquettes. What a shame! I'll still give it 4 stars because it's always been very good otherwise.

I didn't like the food at all. My food was cold when I reserved it, and I also found it a bit dreary and not particularly comfortable outside. Unfortunately, a very disappointing handling of a justified complaint I was actually looking forward to going to the "Schweizer in Kerpen," but was unfortunately very disappointed. When I placed my order, I clearly stated that I was allergic to a certain ingredient. Nevertheless, it was served on my plate, which isn't a bad thing that can happen!! When I politely complained, the chef's reaction was completely inappropriate: He became very loud, agitated, and practically attacked me – instead of dealing with the mistake in a sympathetic or at least objective manner. I found this completely incomprehensible, especially since it involved a serious health issue. This kind of behavior is completely out of place in the restaurant industry, where guests are supposed to feel comfortable and safe. I sincerely hope that the restaurant addresses this issue and treats its guests more professionally and respectfully in the future.

We've been here three times now; a great stop on the way to vacation. The food is delicious; we had schnitzel and calamari, both highly recommended. The service was also very friendly. I accidentally left my shoes in the parking lot, and after nine days, the friendly waitress gave them back to me. Truly sensational. We'll definitely be back.

The meat was excellent—succulent, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The fries, on the other hand, were rather disappointing: lacking in flavor, as if they'd been kept warm. The service was friendly and prompt. One small negative: a strawberry lay unattended on the floor the entire time. Overall, good, but with room for improvement.

We had lunch at the Gasthaus Schweitzer yesterday. The food was delicious and plentiful. The children only managed to eat half of their meals. We had the leftovers packed up as doggy bags. A doggy bag costs €1.50 per package. This is stated on the menu and was fine with us, before the leftovers all ended up in the trash. The rude awakening came in the evening when the children wanted to eat their leftovers. One of them was missing a schnitzel (the original dish was 2 schnitzels and fries), there were only fries in the bowl, and the other one didn't have fries, just the leftover schnitzel. I don't know where the server was thinking, but over €20 per dish, an additional €1.50 per doggy bag, and then we ended up throwing an entire meal in the trash. That's annoying.

The waitress who served us was extremely friendly, even though she didn't speak much English—she did her best to understand all our requests and restrictions. The food was very well seasoned, everything perfectly cooked, just as it should be.

While passing through, we followed the good star rating and were not disappointed—in fact, our expectations were exceeded. Despite the busyness, we were able to get a seat inside. Outside, there's a lovely beer garden. It felt like several plates were being served per minute, and the staff were very friendly and cheerful despite the busyness. The menu offers a variety of daily specials, from traditional fare to Mediterranean and international selections, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. However, the value for money isn't adequate; the portions are simply too high quality and much too large for that :-) The price is therefore unbeatable. We felt completely at home. Many thanks to the Schweitzer Gasthaus team—we'll be happy to stop by again—a definite recommendation :-)

Unfortunately I can't give 5 stars 🌟 for the food this time because we ordered pumpkin soup but unfortunately it was mush and not soup, not to say mush, and completely over-seasoned.....inedible.

There's a reason the Schweitzer has been around for decades. The extensive menu has something for everyone. There's also always a seasonal menu. It's probably most famous for its freshly prepared schnitzels. The bruschetta and spare ribs are also highly recommended. For dessert, try the apple fritters/Kaiserschmarrn. With lean meat, it can sometimes be overcooked and a bit dry. The staff is always friendly and attentive. In summer, the beer garden is a great place to hang out and offers plenty of space even without a reservation. Reservations are recommended during the colder months. It's rather unusual to charge for a doggy bag.

First-class Jägerschnitzel – perfectly prepared fries and truly delicious. My friend had the lamb shank, also perfect. And a good beer, just what you'd expect. The staff was friendly, attentive, and cheerful. All in all, a successful visit – that's what a beer garden should be! We'd gladly go back.

Recommend; No. The food is good, but way too expensive!!! We were there at 9:20 p.m. and were quickly pressured into ordering as the kitchen would close at 10 p.m.... We also had to break off the conversation after dinner because the waiter wanted to get off work.

Very nice restaurant with a nice staff. It was very crowded there, which meant you had to wait longer and a drink was brought to you incorrectly. Nevertheless, it tasted very good and the portions were so large that you were very full. However, some of my chicken was a bit dry. Otherwise I would still recommend it.

I recently dined here and I must say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the service was subpar. To make matters worse, there was a significant issue with the pricing. The server gave us the impression that the prices on the menu were all-inclusive, but when the bill arrived, we were shocked to find numerous additional charges that were never mentioned. When we tried to clarify, the server became defensive and refused to acknowledge the miscommunication, further souring the experience. As for the food itself, it was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the exorbitant prices we were charged. I left feeling frustrated, overcharged, and underwhelmed. I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that offer better service, transparency, and value for your money.

Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The so-called gypsy schnitzel was tasteless and inedible. It was astonishing how quickly the food arrived at the table. Upon closer inspection, the schnitzel seemed old and reheated. The sauce with canned mushrooms and old brown corn had little to do with gypsy schnitzel. Visually, it looked more like vomit. Even the waiter had a hard time sugarcoating this dish. Furthermore, a side salad (if you can call this bag salad that) was served without being asked for and charged €4 without us being informed beforehand. I don't even want to start talking about my pulled pork burger. The waiter's tip was spot-on: "If you want a decent burger, you should go to a proper burger joint."

Unfortunately we were really disappointed today and the criticism we had heard beforehand was justified. I've never had anything to complain about here before - apart from a slightly grumpy and unfriendly waitress. Given the price structure these days, offering mashed potatoes out of a bag and only ready-made sauces is cheeky. My fried smoked pork was far dry. The accompanying chicken was also fried to death. I probably won't use it more than as a beer garden in the future... Too bad

Yes, but it can be very loud and cramped at times. Better in summer because of the garden restaurant. Side salad a bit sour and food from the lunch menu with e.g. 1 small dumpling a bit poor. It's cheap, but for 1€ more you should be able to get 2 dumplings and it would still be cheap food.

Great restaurant with a good selection of dishes and friendly service. We had the inn plate with pork fillet medallions, chicken breast and a rump steak and the Texas spareribs. The pork fillet was buttery tender, the rump steak was also fantastic and slightly pink in the core. The fries and potato wedges were also good. As a starter we had the bread basket with 3 dips and the Bruschetta Tonna which was also fantastic. We are thrilled and would love to come back 😊👌🏼

Spontaneously saw it on Google Maps and tried it out with the three of us. The food was really delicious and also a great choice for vegetarians. The prices are really okay. We had pork schnitzel, steak and veggie schnitzel and were all satisfied. The portions are decent. The service was quick, but we had problems communicating because our German wasn't the best (e.g. I was told the drinks weren't available, even though it was on the menu, and told me alternatives that weren't there according to the menu, just so I could end up with that from the menu) and therefore not particularly talkative or attentive. It was very limited. All in all, we were satisfied and would be happy to come back.
