Unfortunately I can't give 5 stars 🌟 for the food this time because we ordered pumpkin soup but unfortunately it was porridge and not soup, not to say mush and completely over-seasoned.....inedible.

We ate shank and mussels Spanish style. Both dishes were excellent and the portions were very large.

Can highly recommend the Gasthaus Schweitzer. Whether it's a celebration or an event, the Gasthaus Schweitzer is very reliable. The food is simply a pleasure.

We wanted to eat here again after a long time, maybe the kitchen has improved?? We came in and were assigned a seat, but we weren't served. The next people came in and were served immediately, I can't understand it, I'm glad we didn't order anything because food was returned! We then got up and left, will never go there again! It doesn't work at all, it's a complete disaster!

Good home cooking at very fair prices and large portions.

As always, everything was great...we are regular guests.

There is a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, the service is in a good mood and always has a little joke ready. The service was very courteous, the food was on the table quickly and the portions were plentiful. For a small additional charge you can have the leftovers packed up to take away. I can really recommend the restaurant and recommend making a reservation, otherwise you will have to wait in line.

Good value for money, large portions

On Saturday evening everything was a bit “confused” and very “busy”. Despite a reservation, we waited about 20 minutes for a table. It can happen, but it's still a bit annoying. Food was good and the service was friendly. Later we were asked if we could move again so that tables could be pushed together. It wasn't a problem for us and we got a schnapps on the house.

We have been to Haus Schweizer several times and have always been satisfied, but today we were unfortunately very disappointed. It started with the waiter just showing us the table instead of taking us there. Then the floor at the table was totally dirty because a family with children had been sitting there before. At that moment I wished that someone would have picked up a rag and cleaned it up. The food today was very carelessly prepared and without any effort. We had ordered a baked potato with quark, which was absolutely inedible. Unfortunately it tasted really old, we told the cellar about it and instead of asking if we would like something else instead, we were given the same potato that was just as inedible. In the end we had to pay for them too. It's a shame, we were actually always thrilled!

Good menu with a large selection of daily specials. The waiters are in a good mood and quick. We had lunch there on Saturday. The inn was well filled. In the evening I would recommend a reservation. The food was very tasty and plentiful. We really enjoyed the Belgian-style mussels and the neck steak with fries and salad.

Very good cuisine, excellent food

We were passing through for something to eat here, the very nice waiter assigned us a table straight away, unfortunately we weren't allowed to sit outside. In the aftermath, however, it was understandable because he was the only waitress and he was respected for that, very busy and still attentive and quick. There was a lot of food and it was tasty, only the mashed potatoes didn't taste that good. But we would come back.

We were there on Friday evening. Very loud, unfortunately the food was cold. Service rather slow.

More than four years ago I visited Gasthaus Schweitzer, and despite having a reservation, we had to wait an unexpectedly long time for a table. After a period of more than four years, I received an email complete with a legal threat claiming that I was not a customer at all. This action, including the threat of a lawyer, strikes me as disproportionate and questionable, especially given the length of time since my visit. Unfortunately, after four years I no longer had any receipts, which meant my review was deleted. Given the audacity with which the company attempted to legally intimidate me and hold me accountable for a long-ago review, I feel compelled to write a new review and revise it from three stars to one star. Overall, this experience and the inn's outrageous response to a critical review after so long raises serious doubts about their business practices and motives. It seems as if the focus is more on suppressing unpleasant opinions.

Great beer garden - tasty schnitzels that are more than just big - super friendly service - we come often and enjoy it

Wow. Absolut super preis leistung. Super freundliches personal und schneller service. Ich hatte eintopf mit wursteinlage und dann den spiessbraten mit bratkartoffeln. Alles ein träumchen und reichlich !!! Das ganze inklusive selters nur 15€ Abdolut auf dem Boden geblieben bzw wäre das locker 5€ mehr wert. Aber in zeiten, in denen man in ganz Deutschland schon für ein labriges Burger Menue schon 15 bis 23€ zahlt ist das hier absolut fair. Dazu ein super urigea Ambiente mit traditionellem,großem Biergarten vor der Tür. Richtig eiladent und gemütlich. Toll!!! Ich würde die doppelte punktzahl geben. Top

I love it! Gasthaus Schweitzer has been my go-to restaurant for years when I'm really in the mood. The food is always delicious, there is a huge selection, the service is quick - the beer garden is great in summer. Especially recommended in summer are the chanterelle dishes and the Gasthaus Teller for men! Keep it up - I'm always happy to be your guest.

I can't understand all the good reviews at all. Was there for the first time on August 2nd and after 30 minutes no one came to take my order. Well, McDonald's won.

It's nice to sit in the beer garden, the waiters are in a good mood, friendly and attentive. Food is also good and there is a lot to choose from. Portions are decent.

If the staff is still so friendly, quick and attentive when the outside temperature is 34 degrees, then there must be something very special going on here. If in doubt, the working atmosphere. The fact that the menu also offers a wide selection at reasonable prices rounds off the positive picture.

There is a beautiful beer garden inconspicuously in the commercial area. The food is good and the portions are very good. Vegetarian alternatives are also there.

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the previous speakers. We (4 people) had the rump steak medium, the Gasthaus plate, a baked potato and a Mc Schweitzer Beyond. As a pre-snack, bread with three types of dip. We waited almost an hour for the food, the beer garden was well attended. To eat: Three kinds of dip became two kinds Baked potato was cold MC Schweitzer Beyond was cold The rump steak medium was completely overcooked and more! as through. The glassy ones also swam!! Fried onions in oil, that had nothing to do with “roasted”. Each of the three pieces of meat on the inn's plate was of poor quality. The pork fillet was not a fillet but streaky and gristly and was inedible, the rump steak was also very gristly and stringy, the chicken was completely overcooked and rock hard. Overall, you could get the impression that some of the food had once been fresh and had been warmed up again for us. That would also explain why all of the meat was overcooked. A waitress was told this, but smiled politely away. However, it has to be said that a waitress cannot do anything about it. For us, that was it for now with the Gasthaus Schweitzer, the food is still heavy on the stomach...

Wir waren am 04.08.24 dort mit 6 Personen und einem Kind. Nach ca. 1/2 Stunde kam ein Mitarbeiter und nahm die Getränkebestellung auf. Danach die Vorspeisen und die Hauptgerichte. Vorspeisen kamen unvollständig nach ca. 45 Minuten. Erst nach Aufforderung kam der Rest. Beim Brot mit 3 verschiedenen Dips waren nur 2 verschiedene Dips. Dies wurde erst bei Nachfrage bestätigt, da 2 Dips ziemlich identisch schmeckten. Dies hätte man schon beim Servieren bzw.der Bestellung mitteilen können. Nach erneutem Nachfragen nach ca. 1,5 Stunden, wo der Hauptgang bleibt, wurde dann plötzlich, da man uns offensichtlich vergessen hatte, der Hauptgang serviert. Ratatouille lieblos und geschmacklos, Salat mit Rumpsteak - Rumpsteak nur lauwarm, bei den anderen Gerichten ebenfalls Fleisch nur lauwarm und qualitativ nicht der Rede wert. Der Service ebenfalls. Stets gehetzt. Auf Nachtisch haben wir verzichtet, da wir nicht gewollt waren, noch länger zu warten. Getränke sind preislich zu hoch angesiedelt. 1 l stilles Wasser 7,50 € und 0,5 l Getränke über 5 € - das habe ich einen Tag vorher in einem anderen Restaurant günstiger u. qualitativ besser gehabt. Wir waren in der Vergangenheit schon ein paarmal dort gewesen, diesmal war sicherlich vorerst das letzte Mal. Selten so schlecht gegessen.

We were there on August 4th, 2024 with 6 people and a child. After about 1/2 hour an employee came and took the drink order. Then the starters and main courses. Starters arrived incomplete after about 45 minutes. The rest only came after we asked. The bread with 3 different dips only had 2 different dips. This was only confirmed when asked, as 2 dips tasted pretty much identical. This could have been communicated when serving or ordering. After asking again about 1.5 hours where the main course was, the main course was suddenly served because we had obviously been forgotten. Ratatouille was loveless and tasteless, salad with rump steak - rump steak only lukewarm, the other dishes also had meat only lukewarm and the quality was not worth mentioning. The service too. Always rushed. We skipped dessert because we didn't want to wait any longer. Drinks are priced too high. 1 liter of still water for €7.50 and 0.5 liters of drinks for over €5 - I had that cheaper and of better quality in another restaurant the day before. We had been there a few times in the past, but this was certainly the last time for now. Seldom eaten so badly.

Cozy restaurant located on the edge of the Sindorf commercial area. Free parking spaces available. Large selection of food. There is also an extensive daily menu that has something for every taste. Large portions and very tasty. Whatever you can't manage is neatly packed up to take with you. Extremely friendly and attentive staff, which makes your stay pleasant. Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

We have eaten here several times, including today. Service was always very nice, but unfortunately the food was totally lacking. Baked potatoes not cooked through, schnitzel as if it had been in the deep fryer several times and the salad dressing just wasn't tasty either. A pity

Good home-style food with a top price/performance ratio. The beer garden, typical like most beer gardens (unfortunately)! More comfortable seating would mean that I would not only be able to stop by with my best friend, but also visit the beer garden with my wife.

Das Essen war zum wiederholten Male recht schlecht. Ich musste mehrmals nachwürzen, die Bruschetta war so trocken, dass es nicht einfach war diese mit dem Messer zu schneiden und der Höhepunkt war verfaultes Obst auf dem Teller serviert zu bekommen. Noch ne Kleinigkeit am Rande… a) trinke ich mein Weizenbier gerne aus einem Weizenglas und nicht aus einem Hartplastikbecher und b) ihr solltet darauf achten, dass eure Hartplastikbecher nicht unmittelbar nach dem Ausräumen eurer Spülmaschine wieder an den Gast gelangen, Bier schmeckt kalt doch etwas besser

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The service wasn't friendly and we didn't feel welcome. We didn't like the cheeseburger at all. The meat was dry and tough, the cheese was barely melted and the smell was not pleasant. We also found hair in the food, which was very unappetizing. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will not be returning.

Lange war ich nicht mehr in diesem hotel Restaurant. Durch Bekannte habe ich negative input bekommen was ich gar nicht glauben konnte. Aber leider ist es wahr. Ich habe mich so auf die schweinehaxe gefreut. So etwas wiederliches habe ich schon lange nicht mehr auf dem Teller gehabt. Die Kruste daneben der gar Punkt daneben. Das Fleisch muss bei einer Haxe vom Knochen fallen. Sorry der Biergarten ist schön die Haxe scheiß.

We chose this restaurant as a stopover during our trip from Italy to home because we didn't want fast food from the well-known chains. In hindsight, we should have. We set a record for arriving and leaving: we were back in the car within half an hour. But with a good feeling? Not at all. The hospitality was nowhere to be found, the food was tasteless (even the Coke Zero and Fanta were bad), and the staff was unfriendly. We're used to wait and ask if a table is available, but the way we were spoken to was weird and inpolite. Our instinct was to leave immediately, but unfortunately, we didn't. In short: this is a restaurant we would definitely NOT recommend to visit. Not even for a quick meal.

Nice beer garden, but prices quite high! Quality? Not always good! We ate last last CHANTERELLES with schnitzel, 23.90 euros, the chanterelles were mushy, as if they had been warmed up, the sauce wasn't particularly good. No other side dish. So not too good.

The food was very tasty. Friendly conditions. Nice beer garden, we like it very much 👍👍 That was four years ago. Today we had dinner there again, I had schnitzel with sauce and fries. No more comparing like four years ago. The schnitzel was pounded wide so that it looked big, the breading on a lot of the schnitzel and the fries weren't any better. Service unfriendly. I took the rest of my food with me. I had to pay €1.50 for the packaging (doggy bag). I have never paid anywhere else. That was the first and last time we ate there.

Almost been there in the summer. The waitress was wearing sweatpants. And goodbye.

We got married here 20 years ago and things were booming back then. The potato dressing was great and the Swiss sausage salad was popular with men. Today the menu is much more slimmed down and I've had better salads, but my grilled salmon was delicious and fluffy. The cozy spot in the beer garden is still unbeatable and the service is quick. The food came quite quickly. My colleague's schnitzel was huge. You can park next door at the shopping center for 3 hours. The dog at the next table was well supplied with fresh water and sausage.

Im großen angrenzenden Außengelände sitzt man schön. Es gibt genügend Schatten. Das Angebot der Mittagskarte ist umfassend und abwechslungsreich bei sehr zivien Preisen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich.

The food was great as always, but the music was way too loud. I still want to be able to have a conversation! Then the waiter wasn't exactly attentive and in the end he miscalculated by €11. Unfortunately we only saw this at home. All in all, yesterday wasn't all that great.

We stopped here for lunch on the way there and back on our trip to the Netherlands because we followed the good reviews and the location close to the A61 was also a plus point. We were able to take a seat in the beautiful beer garden. The service was quick, the food was great and, above all, plentiful. Everything was perfect and we can fully confirm the good reviews.

My recommendation. With THE BEST BRAUHAUS far and wide. Spacious beer garden. Big portion. Grilled ribs, giant pork knuckle, heaven and aed, great salads, the best German home cooking, brewery specialties - mostly better than in the well-known Cologne breweries. What's missing? A sandpit, slide, swing, seesaw, etc. for children. Therefore minus 1 *.

We had our wedding buffet organized by the Gasthaus Schweitzer. Everything was great. From the first contact, to the food, to the service. Thank you very much for that. All guests, as well as us as hosts, were completely satisfied.

Nach Jahren mal wieder hier gegessen. Entgegen der früheren Erfahrungen war es schon etwas enttäuschend. Das Hähnchencurry hat geschmeckt, war jedoch etwas lieblos auf den Teller geklatscht. Die Gerichte meiner beiden Begleiter waren auch okay, an den Bratkartoffeln ziemlich viel Fett und die Kartoffeln auf dem anderen Teller hatten ein Messer nur aus der Ferne gesehen. Ein Stück war eine komplette Kartoffel. Der Service freundlich aber wir wurden erst gefragt, ob wir noch etwas zu trinken wollen (zwei Gläser waren bereits leer) als wir fast mit dem Essen fertig waren. Bei den Preisen kann man, denke ich, etwas mehr erwarten.

Das Essen war bei weitem nicht so gut, wie es früher war. Das Fleisch sehr trocken, die Portionen kleiner. Ein einfaches Curry für über 17€ lieblos auf den Teller geklatscht. Woanders deutlich günstiger und frischer.

I had heaven and earth, the black pudding was fried to death and bone dry, and mashed potatoes and apple compote were carelessly thrown in. The waiter was ok, the atmosphere was actually nice. My colleague had asparagus and three potatoes for just under 18 euros and wasn't impressed either. I'm not going there anymore.

Went there for dinner today, the salad wasn't fresh at all and was rather mushy. My partner's food was already cold. But in my opinion, what is not possible at all is that the waiters stand at the entrance smoking and continue to work without washing their hands and touching the plates with the food. Absolutely unhygienic. We were there for the last time!

We ordered a buffet for our wedding. The food was great and was very well received by all guests. The only negative point is the communication. Very big minus point - the photo mirror. The thing itself is nice, delivery also worked. But the service afterwards is more than poor! We have not received the pictures or the USB stick that was supposed to be sent. We contacted us by phone several times over a week and were always put off because we had forgotten or didn't have time. In addition, one lady became very moody, which was more than inappropriate! You have a job to backup the images and upload them to the cloud. 15 minutes. And harasses the customer when he asks when the pictures can be expected. This is a no-go when working with customers! Extremely unprofessional.

Very tasty and great service. Unfortunately, when it's full, the food suffers a bit. I love the schnitzel, but it's just way too dry than what you're used to. I still enjoy coming there from Cologne again and again. A small suggestion: perhaps you can offer the children something to paint to shorten the waiting time.
