Recommend; No. The food is good, but way too expensive!!! We were there at 9:20 p.m. and were quickly pressured into ordering as the kitchen would close at 10 p.m.... We also had to break off the conversation after dinner because the waiter wanted to get off work.

Yes Large portions/quick service

Very nice restaurant with a nice staff. It was very crowded there, which meant you had to wait longer and a drink was brought to you incorrectly. Nevertheless, it tasted very good and the portions were so large that you were very full. However, some of my chicken was a bit dry. Otherwise I would still recommend it.

Tip top delicious food, you can sit inside and outside

I recently dined here and I must say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the service was subpar. To make matters worse, there was a significant issue with the pricing. The server gave us the impression that the prices on the menu were all-inclusive, but when the bill arrived, we were shocked to find numerous additional charges that were never mentioned. When we tried to clarify, the server became defensive and refused to acknowledge the miscommunication, further souring the experience. As for the food itself, it was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the exorbitant prices we were charged. I left feeling frustrated, overcharged, and underwhelmed. I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that offer better service, transparency, and value for your money.

The food was very tasty and the portion was large, you were full! Only the service was very bad, unfortunately drinks were often forgotten! It can happen sometimes, but not all evening

Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The so-called gypsy schnitzel was tasteless and inedible. It was astonishing how quickly the food arrived at the table. Upon closer inspection, the schnitzel seemed old and reheated. The sauce with canned mushrooms and old brown corn had little to do with gypsy schnitzel. Visually, it looked more like vomit. Even the waiter had a hard time sugarcoating this dish. Furthermore, a side salad (if you can call this bag salad that) was served without being asked for and charged €4 without us being informed beforehand. I don't even want to start talking about my pulled pork burger. The waiter's tip was spot-on: "If you want a decent burger, you should go to a proper burger joint."

Unfortunately we were really disappointed today and the criticism we had heard beforehand was justified. I've never had anything to complain about here before - apart from a slightly grumpy and unfriendly waitress. Given the price structure these days, offering mashed potatoes out of a bag and only ready-made sauces is cheeky. My fried smoked pork was far dry. The accompanying chicken was also fried to death. I probably won't use it more than as a beer garden in the future... Too bad

Really good food in decent portions. If you're hungry in Kerpen, you should go here. If necessary, reserve in advance.

Yes, but it can be very loud and cramped at times. Better in summer because of the garden restaurant. Side salad a bit sour and food from the lunch menu with e.g. 1 small dumpling a bit poor. It's cheap, but for 1€ more you should be able to get 2 dumplings and it would still be cheap food.

Great restaurant with a good selection of dishes and friendly service. We had the inn plate with pork fillet medallions, chicken breast and a rump steak and the Texas spareribs. The pork fillet was buttery tender, the rump steak was also fantastic and slightly pink in the core. The fries and potato wedges were also good. As a starter we had the bread basket with 3 dips and the Bruschetta Tonna which was also fantastic. We are thrilled and would love to come back 😊👌🏼

Spontaneously saw it on Google Maps and tried it out with the three of us. The food was really delicious and also a great choice for vegetarians. The prices are really okay. We had pork schnitzel, steak and veggie schnitzel and were all satisfied. The portions are decent. The service was quick, but we had problems communicating because our German wasn't the best (e.g. I was told the drinks weren't available, even though it was on the menu, and told me alternatives that weren't there according to the menu, just so I could end up with that from the menu) and therefore not particularly talkative or attentive. It was very limited. All in all, we were satisfied and would be happy to come back.

The food was fantastic! At first I was impressed by the very large selection. The dishes on the daily menu were numerous. I had a huge portion of Rhenish mussels, my friends had salmon with fresh, crunchy vegetables. The sauces were very good and everything was generous and nicely presented. The service was on point, funny and friendly, almost like in a brewery. I would give more than 5 stars. I would have paid more for that.

I had a hamburger that lived up to its name. Really great. My wife had a schnitzel with fresh mushrooms. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT.

We went for dinner with the family on Christmas Day (reserved). The selection of food and drinks was good and the staff were polite and very engaging. Drinks were provided quickly. The meal took a little longer because it was very full. We were shown to our reserved seat in the hotel dining room. A lot of effort was made to conjure up some Christmas spirit there too. Unfortunately we were a little lacking in comfort and music. Otherwise everything was very satisfactory and the food was very tasty.

If you like something a little more hearty and down-to-earth, this is the place for you. Very well attended inn with hotel. In summer also with a beer garden. Delicious food, portions are generous, the service is attentive - we like to stop by the inn every now and then when we are nearby.

The staff are not friendly at all, and last time I was there I noticed that they treat the guests badly, even the trainees in the restaurant.

After we finally received our pre-ordered drinks at the same time as our food, everything was ok. When we wanted to pay we had to wait about 45 minutes until a waiter came to us (upon request) to prepare the bill for us.

I was there a few days ago and can't recommend this restaurant at all. After a long wait, the food came cold, The food doesn't taste good at all. The employees there treat customers inappropriately and disrespectfully👎👎. If you have problems at home, don't bring them to work.

We were invited as part of a team lunch. We were sat in the tented area but with heaters on it was plenty warm enough, despite being December. The atmosphere was good, and we were able to chat. The food was good. My husband had the sausage with fried potatoes and coleslaw, and the sausage was good. I had a beef with pasta, which was well cooked with depth of flavour. Two of our party were vegetarian, one had the jackfruit curry while the other had cheesy pasta, both reported it was good, but very filling. The team told us that the biergarten is very good in summer, so we need to come back to give that a try.

Wir waren heute Mittag im Gasthaus essen. Leider war das Essen auf Imbiss Niveau. Meine Frau hatte ein Hawai Schnitzel welches zwar recht gross war allerdings war es nicht gewürzt und die Bernaise kam aus der Packung. Mein Cordon Bleu war ein ebenfalls ungewürztes Stück Fleisch aus der Fritteuse welches zudem zäh und trocken war. Der Salat war zudem labbrig und Geschmack los. Die 2 Sterne gibt es nur wegen der netten und aufmerksamen Bedienung. Bezahlt haben wir für 2 Fritteusen Schnitzel und je einem Getränk 47,50€. Wir gehen dort jedenfalls nicht mehr Essen

Very cheap food, fast service, quality unfortunately only mediocre.

I have been a guest for over 20 years. I have always been very satisfied and am still satisfied today. I'm mostly there at lunchtime and even though it's always full, the service is always excellent and friendly. The food is always plentiful. Some things are so busy that it's difficult to work after your lunch break. Gladly again and again.

I was eating there with the family and unfortunately it was a 0 number. My knuckle and my son's were not done. The meat was partly dry, raw in places and sometimes very hard. The spareribs were burnt, very dry and very hard. We gave the food away after one bite because unfortunately it didn't taste good. Shortly afterwards the boss came to us and said that the food was very tasty and that he couldn't imagine it. At the end we asked for the bill and all the dishes were there, which surprised us because we didn't eat any of the portions. I think it shouldn't be like that.

We wanted to eat here again after a long time, maybe the kitchen has improved?? We came in and were assigned a seat, but we weren't served. The next people came in and were served immediately, I can't understand it, I'm glad we didn't order anything because food was returned! We then got up and left, will never go there again! It doesn't work at all, it's a complete disaster!

As always, everything was great...we are regular guests.

There is a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, the service is in a good mood and always has a little joke ready. The service was very courteous, the food was on the table quickly and the portions were plentiful. For a small additional charge you can have the leftovers packed up to take away. I can really recommend the restaurant and recommend making a reservation, otherwise you will have to wait in line.

Good value for money, large portions

On Saturday evening everything was a bit “confused” and very “busy”. Despite a reservation, we waited about 20 minutes for a table. It can happen, but it's still a bit annoying. Food was good and the service was friendly. Later we were asked if we could move again so that tables could be pushed together. It wasn't a problem for us and we got a schnapps on the house.

We have been to Haus Schweizer several times and have always been satisfied, but today we were unfortunately very disappointed. It started with the waiter just showing us the table instead of taking us there. Then the floor at the table was totally dirty because a family with children had been sitting there before. At that moment I wished that someone would have picked up a rag and cleaned it up. The food today was very carelessly prepared and without any effort. We had ordered a baked potato with quark, which was absolutely inedible. Unfortunately it tasted really old, we told the cellar about it and instead of asking if we would like something else instead, we were given the same potato that was just as inedible. In the end we had to pay for them too. It's a shame, we were actually always thrilled!

Good menu with a large selection of daily specials. The waiters are in a good mood and quick. We had lunch there on Saturday. The inn was well filled. In the evening I would recommend a reservation. The food was very tasty and plentiful. We really enjoyed the Belgian-style mussels and the neck steak with fries and salad.

We were passing through for something to eat here, the very nice waiter assigned us a table straight away, unfortunately we weren't allowed to sit outside. In the aftermath, however, it was understandable because he was the only waitress and he was respected for that, very busy and still attentive and quick. There was a lot of food and it was tasty, only the mashed potatoes didn't taste that good. But we would come back.

More than four years ago I visited Gasthaus Schweitzer, and despite having a reservation, we had to wait an unexpectedly long time for a table. After a period of more than four years, I received an email complete with a legal threat claiming that I was not a customer at all. This action, including the threat of a lawyer, strikes me as disproportionate and questionable, especially given the length of time since my visit. Unfortunately, after four years I no longer had any receipts, which meant my review was deleted. Given the audacity with which the company attempted to legally intimidate me and hold me accountable for a long-ago review, I feel compelled to write a new review and revise it from three stars to one star. Overall, this experience and the inn's outrageous response to a critical review after so long raises serious doubts about their business practices and motives. It seems as if the focus is more on suppressing unpleasant opinions.
