The herb schnitzel was dry and the herbs were black, not seasoned, the sauce had no flavor at all, the vegetables were okay, the hash browns were okay, the meat was dry and lacking in flavor. We did get an espresso to make up for it, though, and the service was nice. So, we only ate these two dishes and not all of them, but we'd give our meal a maximum of 3 stars. But it annoys us; you spend so much money these days, you want something tasty. But that wasn't the case.

Great inn, beautiful beer garden, very relaxed atmosphere. Today, on a public holiday, we were able to enjoy a delicious meal there without a reservation. Everything was fresh and lovingly prepared, including traditional, upscale, and vegetarian dishes and desserts. The prices are truly reasonable for the quality of the food! The service was so attentive and warm, unbelievable! We were asked several times if we needed any more sauce/tablecloths/any other requests, and everything was brought to our table super quickly. A very nice beer garden. It was quite busy, but we could choose whether we wanted to sit at the large table with others or prefer our own table. We then sat down with the friendly couple. The menu offers a sufficient selection, including vegetarian options. We were all very satisfied with the dishes we chose. The side salad was good, and the dressing was also delicious. The service was friendly. The girls were working hard, so one or two new guests had to wait a bit, but this is perfectly acceptable given the amount of work they do.

A friendly welcome and excellent food On a Thursday evening around 6:45 pm, four of us arrived without a reservation. We received a friendly welcome. The beer garden was already quite full, but after some discussion, we were able to get a spot in a corner—exactly what we wanted. We were immediately given the menu and some drinks. The menu isn't extensive, but offers plenty of choice. There's no children's menu, so we ordered an extra plate and a full meal to share for the two children. The food was served quickly. The taste was fine, not exceptional, but the price-quality ratio is certainly good. All in all, a pleasant, welcoming place for a casual evening. Debit card payments are accepted from €10.

The welcome needs to be improved. You're asked to wait until you're assigned a table in the beer garden. But three employees are chatting and ignoring newcomers. The schnitzel variations were okay.

Once, because our regular beer garden was really full and I was really hungry, I spontaneously ended up here, and I haven't been back!! The salad with goat cheese was a normal side salad, the bacon-wrapped cheese was okay, but the dressing was just vinegar and honey on top, tasted awful, and it came with two small slices of baguette that weren't even fresh. And all that for 15 euros!! Sorry, but I don't want to go out for that kind of food!! Unfortunately, that's how it is for a lot of people these days: mediocre food for a lot of money, so you think three times about whether to go. And the cordon bleu with fries and side salad was the same as mine, by the way, only I had cucumbers and peppers in it. The waitress was friendly, the atmosphere outside is quite nice.

We ate there... the food was OK, the service was excellent and very friendly! I didn't like the ambiance, as we were basically sitting at the extra table in the aisle... I know that staff is currently in short supply, but having the restaurant so packed that you can see your neighbor's hair and bricklayer's cleavage right in front of you kind of spoiled my stay... a shame, really, as it actually seems cozy.

We went to the beer garden today for dinner based on a recommendation. It's a really nice, cozy beer garden where you can relax. It was busy today because it was a holiday, but the service was very friendly and attentive! The food was absolutely fantastic, so I highly recommend it!!! TOP!

Since all the tables in the beer garden were reserved from 5 p.m. on a Wednesday, it must be good. The beer garden is a nice place to sit. The service was very friendly. They gave us another seat. The salad was very good and fresh. The salad dressing was good. The cordon bleu was good. The fries were a bit dry. I would have preferred fried potatoes. But everything was good.

Super restaurant with very good cuisine and service

Good food, perfect service, a lovely restaurant. We were passing through and had dinner here. The waiter was very friendly and always available. The food (roast pork and herb schnitzel) was excellent and freshly prepared. And a delicious light beer on tap—what more could you want? If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back. Authentic and good Bavarian cuisine: I’d recommend the Reegulasch and Germknödel. The interior offers a charming reflection of traditional Bavarian style. You can either sit indoors or outdoors. It is strategically located on the way to Austria.

We stopped overnight in town on the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path. We got a very nice table at short notice. Very good service, friendly staff, and the food was absolutely delicious! We'd love to go back!

The food was unseasoned and not of the best quality, but it was okay. The service was good; we weren't neglected even though it was busier. The ambiance isn't typical Bavarian, but more like a grandma's kitchen.

For one night everything was fine

As every year, it was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, and we received very attentive service! If you can handle simple but clean rooms with comfortable beds, the Pfeiffenthaler is the perfect place for you. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We were able to get three seats on a Thursday without a reservation. Because we were seated at a large table, we were asked if it would be okay for other guests to join us. I personally found that very thoughtful. The star deducted for the ambiance rating is more due to a personal need for bright rooms. It's a typical Bavarian restaurant with lots of wood. The prices are certainly reasonable by local standards.

As always, the food was very good, a big compliment to the kitchen 👍 I really have to criticize the service, unfortunately 😞 No smile - no questions whether you have something to drink let alone if six people their dessert have eaten and asks whether the last one too Soon, came the unfriendly answer, that everything comes along little by little an annoyed grin. (and it was forgotten) When it came to tipping, there was no thank you and not even a goodbye, just a nice evening. I know decency and politeness differently. P's I also worked on Mother's Day, but I was still friendly 😉

A rustic beer garden with a nice ambience. The food is really awesome. Quantities are completely sufficient and requests (reorders) are addressed immediately. I ate the horseradish mustard schnitzel with fried potatoes and ordered extra Kreen (horseradish) with it. HAMMER. Really brilliant. Price-performance and service are top. All hell broke loose, but the girls always stayed calm. I would love to come back. THANKS

Wir haben mehr als kurzfristig an Ostersonntag noch einen Tisch von einer bereits am Telefon freundlichen Bedienung bekommen. Freundlicher Empfang in einem gemütlich bayrischen Gasthaus. Superfreundliche Bedienung trotz Stress und Essen war von der Kalbsleber über Zander und Schnitzel einfach klasse und preislich super. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Oh well What can I say? The ambience and the great hunger made us stop here. Unfortunately it wasn't great now, so it didn't taste really bad, the food came very quickly and the sauce from the packet, it looked like it was a finished product and had just been warmed up. The old Bavarian schnitzel with altbier sauce had no sauce at all, just a lot of oil on the fried potatoes. The fact that the job advertisement for “cook” was hanging inside could be an explanation. Long story short We were all full, but we weren't thrilled and nobody felt the need to have their leftovers packed up. So there is clearly room for improvement.

Nice service and top eaters, also vegetarian

We ate there as a large group and the staff were all very nice and polite. The food was very tasty and you got large portions for your money. Everyone was happy, even the vegetarians among us didn't have to limit themselves to salad or soups. It wasn't a problem to get into the restaurant with a dog, the decor is rustic Bavarian.

Had the Viennese roast beef and a side salad, the portions were large and you really felt like you were getting something for your money, the desired level of doneness was perfect, the fried potatoes were also really tasty, as was the sauce for the roast (clearly homemade - although a little more of it on the plate wouldn't have hurt)... the fried onions were also homemade, but almost a little dark so that you could taste a subtle bitter taste in the finish (hence 4* instead of 5*)... they were still within the limits, but a bit on the edge, but all in all very tasty and didn't detract from the whole dish overall... We'll be back :)

Spent a wonderful evening with the choir here. Everyone was very happy with the food and the service and the topics of conversation were colorful, loud and diverse. I think everything has been addressed. Wednesday is a good day to go out to eat.

All the dishes were excellent but we particularly enjoyed the old Bavarian schnitzel. You can also enjoy the whole thing in a cozy atmosphere. There are parking spaces in front of the door. Cozy inn, the service is relaxed and quick. The food was down-to-earth and top quality, especially the Röstitaler was impressive because it was definitely homemade.

A homely place for hungry people! I enjoyed my evening here accompanied by my daughter. She had a vegetarian option, Celeri Schnitzel and sweet potato chips, both were tasty and well seasoned. I had the 'Old Bavarian Schnitzel' topped with grated horseradish and served with pan roasted potatoes and a dark beer sauce. It was a large portion with lots of flavour and I ate all of it! Afterwards, we shared a Crème Brûlée served with fresh fruit chunks. It was creamy and delicious with a crunchy top that had been correctly caramelised. A great place to warm up in on a cold winter evening. Good value tasty food. Service was quick, pleasant and unpretentious. Recommended.

Good Bavarian inn! Food tastes good and seems very fresh. Mainly classic Bavarian cuisine. But also suitable for vegetarians. The celery schnitzel with sweet potato fries was apparently worth recommending! The service is friendly and everything happens relatively quickly. Unfortunately, at a late hour the service at our table wasn't seen very often. The atmosphere is rustic, classic Bavarian!👍

We have eaten here many times, but the last few times we were no longer satisfied with the food. Unfortunately, my onion roast was not satisfactory. The fried potatoes were a mush covered in sauce. I am no longer alone in our circle of friends with this assessment. Maybe you should think about another chef...

Upper Bavarian model restaurant. No fancy stuff, just down-to-earth, regional cuisine. Very tasty and very plentiful.

During our short vacation in the mountains we spontaneously looked for a place to stop. The Gasthaus Pfeiffenthaler is always very busy, so it's always worth calling. So we called quickly while we were on the road and asked for a place. It seemed difficult but the nice innkeeper made it possible and reserved a place for us. Unfortunately we sat in the middle of the large dining room for dinner. It was quite loud and you couldn't have a good conversation. The drinks and food came quickly. The service was very nice. The meat on the grill plate was very dry in my opinion. The portion, however, was very large. You can definitely take a detour here to eat.

Unfortunately the food was very salty. Service no longer had any motivation after 8:30 p.m.

We have eaten here many times but unfortunately it gets worse from time to time. We had venison goulash which was rather tasteless and the bread dumpling was as hard as concrete. I'm sorry, that means better. Positive, super fast service, great facility. but unfortunately you can't taste it. We won't eat here anymore for now

It was also possible to stop by without a reservation. We were able to sit on the upper floor. The atmosphere is very historical and rustic. But you have to like it. We felt very comfortable and the food also tasted very tasty. Gladly again ...

There were around 20 of us who all ate there. All the food that was brought to us, no matter what everyone ordered, was beautifully presented. The portions were very large, everyone gets full. The taste is very good, you can test your way through the number of different dishes chosen. The furnishings of this restaurant are made with great attention to detail. It's not a musty old restaurant, but really fine wood was used in the interior design of these rooms. The sanitary rooms are clean. If this restaurant were near me, I would dine there more often from now on. What you need to know is that this restaurant is not open every day on days when no one expects to find themselves in front of a closed door. So first check when this restaurant is open or closed. Unfortunately I didn't get around to taking photos.

Very good food and very friendly!

We were passing through at the nearby campsite and came across the inn by chance. The “Stairian Cordon Bleu” with pumpkin seed breading and filled with Obazda was the tastiest thing I have ever eaten in a Bavarian tavern. The service was extremely friendly and we felt very comfortable. Would love to come back.

We've been here twice for lunch now and absolutely love it! The staff is always extremely friendly and the food is really first class. Overall, an absolute recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food in a cozy environment. We'd love to come back!
