Gasthaus Pension Sommer in Waldsassen

Very clean and newly furnished rooms. The restaurant is okay—nothing special, but solid. The owner is very friendly. Unfortunately, there's no elevator.

Due to my father's hospital stay, I had to stay in this part of Upper Palatinate at very short notice. I was very happy to have found a tasteful place to stay with excellent value for money in the Gasthof Sommer! I received a very warm welcome and felt very comfortable for two nights. The extensive use of wood creates a cozy atmosphere, everything is new and very clean. The breakfast buffet was truly varied, and the food in the adjoining inn was also delicious. Thank you so much for everything! I also highly recommend your establishment!

First things first: It couldn't be better! If, after a long day, you decide to stay in the region on the spur of the moment and search for a hotel on Google and see 4.8 stars, you're initially pleased, but at the same time skeptical – you've already experienced a lot. When you enter Pension Sommer, you know you've come to the right place! Everything seems quite newly modernized, the rooms are great and high-quality, as is the bathroom, spotlessly clean, very nice! The bed is great, not a sagging mattress but a really good one. The food in the restaurant also leaves nothing to be desired, is delicious and very reasonably priced for our standards (just like the overnight stay WITH a great breakfast buffet). The Wi-Fi in the hotel is also TOP-NOTCH: 50 Mbps download, 40 Mbps upload – what more could you want!? This guesthouse is an ABSOLUTE recommendation; it couldn't be better.

Pension Sommer and its adjoining guesthouse are 100% recommended. The owners and staff are very friendly. The food is excellent. The rooms in the guesthouse are newly renovated and very well maintained. The value for money is excellent. We were absolutely thrilled and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

A totally positive surprise! Booked an overnight stay at short notice and even had dinner there in the evening. First, the room: booked a double room for single occupancy. Price including breakfast: EUR 66.00. The impression upon opening the door was simply wow. Renovated room. Super clean. Homey. Modern bathroom. Hairdryer, etc., everything was there. One minor drawback: carpet. The night there was very quiet. We didn't hear much from our neighbors. The bed had a great, firm mattress. Everything was absolutely perfect. The breakfast buffet was also a pleasant surprise, with, for example, fresh pineapple. Then came dinner. A rustic menu, as anyone can see on the website, plus a seasonal daily special. More than reasonable value for money. Friendly service. The food was delicious. If you think we were just passing by by chance...

Quiet suburban location, a three-minute drive from Waldsassen town center; a very nice and well-kept guesthouse with modern dining rooms, everything delicious and really very affordable! We'd love to come back here again.

Anyone who knows this restaurant will go there often. Good food at a pleasant price is worth coming there again. A family business in the fifth or sixth generation. Very suitable for family celebrations. From hearsay, the rooms are very nice and the breakfast is great. There is also a winter garden and an outdoor area. The “service girls” are very attentive and friendly. All in all great!

Anyone who comes here will feel like they have arrived at home, everyone is friendly, nice and accommodating, the entire innkeeper's family and the staff are TOP. I've traveled a lot and experienced a lot, but I can say that these are the front runners. Come and experience it for yourself.

Beautiful inn in the small village of Kondrau near Waldsassen. Very friendly hosts, great breakfast, including fresh fruit. Very good cuisine in the evening. Ideal for cyclists.

Nice guesthouse on a side street. It is quiet. Parking spaces in front of the house. Very clean. Rich breakfast offering. Drinks machine in the house. Sleeping with the window open is possible. However, there is a cowshed nearby. Friendly staff.

Arrive and feel good. And not just once! You will receive a very friendly welcome in this quiet house. In the beer garden or in the restaurant you will receive comprehensive and friendly service. The food (the boss cooks here) is delicious, absolutely sufficient and still reasonably priced. The breakfast is out of this world. A four star hotel can learn a thing or two here. Lots of colorful, chopped fruit: pineapple, melon, oranges, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi and so on. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers of any color. Bread, several types of rolls, eggs, coffee, tea... You don't want to stop anymore. Everything your heart desires is there. About the rooms: whether single or double, there is enough space. Everything is modern and renovated. Have been guests several times in recent years; both for dinner, for a celebration and in the very well-kept guesthouse. A warm welcome every time, you immediately feel at home. Service is attentive, the food is appealing and tasty, and the breakfast for guesthouse guests leaves nothing to be desired. Rooms up to date and clean. Ideal location for us, quiet. Enjoyable as a family: in addition to our own playground, there is a great, newly designed playground nearby.

Very nice modern rooms in a quiet location. Cozy restaurant with a large selection of very good quality German cuisine. Good and rich breakfast buffet. E-charging station available. Staff and owner very friendly. I really liked it, I'll definitely come back.

We come from Switzerland and had a family occasion. The guest house and the rooms are very tastefully decorated. What impressed me was the breakfast. Very extensive and everything your heart desires. A few steps and you are in a cozy restaurant where you can eat well. There are many excursion destinations from there. The staff and owners were very nice and attentive. We will definitely be visiting there again in the summer. I can only recommend the guesthouse 👍
