Great restaurant. Delicious regional dishes. Friendly staff. A 10-minute walk from the Lehde parking lot. It's easy to get a seat in October. And the passing boats provide some entertainment, too. 😉

⸻ We had lunch at Kaupen 6 on Thursday – sensationally good Spreewald cuisine! Simply no comparison to the usual "typical Spreewald" restaurants. And I've tried many: Most are quite expensive, the food is okay, but feels very touristy. At Kaupen 6, it's completely different: excellent ingredients, fresh and prepared with great skill – truly delicious! No one in our group found anything to complain about 😅 – and that's saying something. The location is idyllic, just about a 10-minute walk from the entrance to Lehde. For our two older companions, who aren't so good on their feet, I was able to drive right up to the restaurant and then park the car in the parking lot – very convenient. Particularly worth mentioning: the best soft serve ice cream for miles around, made with milk from their own cows. And the staff and owners are also extremely friendly and welcoming, which makes the visit even more pleasant. All in all, a definite recommendation – we'll definitely be back! The food was amazing - fresh local ingredients, chosen with care and cooked perfectly! The drinks list is similarly interesting and high quality. The setting is gorgeous and peaceful - regardless of whether you kayak or walk there from Lübbenau. I was most impressed by the staff. They were attentive, professional, funny, and quick even though it was reasonably busy and they a few larger tables coming and going.

We were here on a Thursday in August around 3 p.m. – and let's get straight to the best part: the service was simply top-notch! Friendly, attentive, and with a smile, which made the afternoon even more enjoyable. The cakes, soup, and snacks were all excellent, fresh, and perfectly tasty. The wait time was also pleasantly short, so we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Highly recommended!

An idyllic place even when it rains.

The service was very good, the food exceptional and very tasty. We got a table outside in front of the entrance at short notice; there was so much to see that even the heavy rain was an experience without getting wet ourselves.

During a boat trip, we had a wonderful lunch break here with delicious food and great staff. The best place for me so far in the Spreewald – not as touristy as the usual. There's a playground and plenty of peace and quiet. Highly recommended.

Kaupen No. 6 is a high-quality restaurant. The food is regional and second to none. The location on the canal is unique, although barges sometimes dock right next to the restaurant, which can get a bit noisy. Otherwise, it's one of the best restaurants in all of Brandenburg!

We were looking for a vacation apartment for a short break and found everything we were looking for. A chic, modern apartment equipped with everything you need. Having breakfast and ending the day right by the water was simply fantastic. If you want to get active, you can do so with the hotel's free paddle boat (when using the apartment). The highlight is the attached restaurant Kaupen No. 6 with its fantastic food and an incredibly friendly team that always smiles even when you're at its most stressful. We tried a lot of things from the menu and were never disappointed. Simply delicious 😋. Since this restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists, you should definitely make a reservation. Recommended! Everything was perfect – we chose the restaurant after our family canoeing trip in the Spreewald and were very satisfied! Reservations are definitely essential for the weekend. Everything worked out perfectly; we accidentally arrived at the restaurant an hour before our reservation, but luckily the waiter was able to get us a table. We really enjoyed the menu and the additional daily specials. The food is simply fantastic, regional, creative, and of the highest quality and flavor. We had starters, main courses, and dessert. Everything tasted great, was beautifully presented, and served very friendly. The weather cooperated, and we were able to dine outside on the idyllic terrace right by the canal – so beautiful! From the free parking lot, it's just a few minutes' walk to the restaurant, which is located directly on a Spreewald canal. We would love to come back for dinner on our next Spreewald trip – a real treat!

The food is very good, but the place is quite crowded, so it can be difficult to find a table. They prefer payment by card.

Here, just the sight of the food served made my mouth water. The potatoes were fresh. This time I had beef dumplings, a fantastic taste experience. A member of the Zander family was definitely better than the one the day before at another establishment. Great food, super friendly, you're happy to pay the price. It was cheaper than at the other establishment.

For our 50th birthday, we stopped here with 15 people during a boat trip (with Hannemann), after making a reservation. The service was outstanding in terms of attentiveness, speed, and flexibility. The food was so delicious that one birthday guest commented that the chef actually deserved a raise. All I can add is that I have never in my life eaten such tender pike-perch as I did here.

The Kaupen is always highly recommended. After traveling regularly to the Spreewald for at least twenty years, we're always grateful when we eat at Kaupen 6. This typical Spreewald cuisine is fantastic; highly recommend the fish soup and Blinde Fische (Blind Fish), which are truly Spreewald fare.

The walk to the restaurant is absolutely beautiful – getting there is already part of the experience. It’s easy to reach from the main boat station, and you walk through a scenic field. I definitely recommend going on foot! As for the restaurant itself – it’s the best in the Spreewald, in my opinion. The food is excellent, and there’s even a playground in the courtyard, which is perfect for families. The quality of the food is top-notch. A special thanks to the staff and especially to Constantin, who provided us with outstanding service – very polite, attentive, and quick. We truly felt welcome. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

First time in Spreewald and Kaupen Nr. 6 was a recommendation of a friend. I was really excited about trying the local specials like the „Kräuterplins“ - some sort of a pancake but with asparagus, carrots and more vegetables/herbs. The food was very good, the service was friendly and attentive. Location is one of a kind in the heart of the Spreewald. 5/5, would recommend.

We made a spontaneous reservation, landed by the water – and were thrilled from the very first moment! The food? A poem. The drinks? Ice cold and just right. The service? As if they read our minds. We enjoyed the evening to the fullest – relaxed, welcoming, simply special. A true insider tip with a rare quality. If you haven't been here, you're missing out!

We visited the restaurant without prior reservation. It was challenging, but ultimately the hosts handled it with humor and pragmatism, and despite the restaurant being fully booked, we still managed to get a cozy spot. Overall, the service was very attentive and humorous. Hospitality is truly lived and breathed. The menu is well-stocked with local dishes. We had a hard time deciding. We ended up with a fish dish and Spreewald black pudding. Both were a revelation for discerning palates. Intense and diverse in flavor, and the dishes were lovingly presented. Hats off to the kitchen. For a sweet dessert, we had the traditional yeast pancake with butter, cinnamon, and sugar. This family recipe should be preserved; a definite reason to return. All in all, a wonderful evening and an absolute recommendation. Just be sure to make a reservation in advance...👍

Super inn, top food, very friendly service, unique location directly on the river

We visiter the restaurant here. What we did not like is a lot of smoking everywhere, no respect for visitors with children at all. The food was average, drinks also. But the view is fantastic, really. A bit overpriced.

The best restaurant in the entire Spreewald! The cucumber spritz as an aperitif is a delight, the fish soup is divine, and the main course, the braised beef cheek and pork chop, melt in your mouth! The pancakes round out the menu. The location right on the water is fantastic, and the chef is super friendly and accommodating! We'll definitely be back and can only recommend it to everyone!

Excellent Spreewald cuisine, simply good, simply fine. As expected, the delicious pickled cucumbers and lard on excellent bread were followed by fresh, regional fish and aromatic potatoes, along with a delicate cucumber salad. The blood sausage with a mild, slightly sweet mustard, mashed potatoes, and cabbage was also to die for. It's as if Grandma had cooked your favorite dish for a special occasion. Add some cucumber lemonade, and the Spreewald feeling is complete. This won't be the last time I'll be here.

For our family, this was the best food in Germany that we have had so far. Really interesting flavors, fresh products, home made surprises, great and friendly attitude from the staff, and of course a terrific spot on a crossroad of the river beds. A must try spot!

We visit the restaurant regularly and always try to show this great place to other friends. The location couldn't be better, the service is smooth and very attentive, and the food is among the best in the Spreewald. An absolute recommendation. I would recommend making a reservation.

Everyone is warmly welcomed. The holiday apartment is located in a renovated historic building right by the river. The restaurant is excellent. Prices are high, as is typical for the area. The cuisine is traditional but surprisingly creative. Recommended for vegetarians: beetroot with new potatoes.

Unfortunately, it's only open Thursday through Sunday. Of course, that was very disappointing on Tuesday. It's a shame. We've been here several times by boat because the food is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. This time we wanted to go by bike. Unfortunately, we found the door locked.

I had already booked 18 places for mid-May in January 2025. Everything inside was already reserved, so the only option was outside. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating. It was raining and quite chilly at coffee time. The table was lovingly prepared. All my guests were immediately given warm blankets. Even though we had familiarized ourselves with the menu in advance, it was difficult to choose. So many varieties of yeast pancakes, a specialty of the Spreewald region. Many different varieties were chosen. I thought, oh dear, will this work? And it did. It was a breeze, and everyone was thrilled. I've eaten yeast pancakes many times, but never as delicious. For those who didn't want pancakes, there was also ice cream and cake – so there was something for every taste, as well as a variety of coffee drinks and teas. We'd love to come back again – hopefully in better weather...

Culinary-wise, the Spreewald, at least in and around Lübbenau, is a nasty no-man's-land... If... well, if you don't go to Kaupen6. We had a reservation for six and, of course, sat right by the canal as the sun began to set. There were four different dishes for the six of us, so it was a bit of a cross-section of the menu. The standard: jacket potatoes with quark and linseed oil. You can't go wrong, but you can do a lot right. Here: everything was spot on. A good amount of linseed oil, the quark well-seasoned, garnished with dill and chives. The potatoes, in a decent number, were actually arranged in a small bowl as jacket potatoes and accompanied by a fresh salad. The child was delighted. Fried as if caught: Catfish fillet Simple but delicious with a choice of lemon and lime, boiled potatoes, and Spreewald cucumber salad in a small bowl. This came three times and was met with full approval just as often. Unusual: Red catfish fillet on a bed of vegetables with lemon and sprouts. I tried it: It was great. The fish lover who ordered it, however, couldn't stop raving about it. Not from around here: Redfish fillet, fruity and spicy with chili. Served with potatoes and feta. This dish easily rivaled my childhood memories. Grandma often had redfish in a green sauce with potatoes. Sweet and spicy with feta and fish... amazing. And what else? Dessert - pancakes. They were available in a poppy seed version, a gourmet version, a regular version with no frills, and a premium connoisseur version. We had them all, and everyone tried every single one: nothing but enchanted faces. We also had the opportunity to have a very curious conversation with the innkeeper, Junior (he won't agree with us on the name, but it is what it is :-)). It's great when someone loves their job so much that they don't just serve their guests, but also make it a little bit more personal. We had two weeks of vacation, but a visit to Kaupen6 would have been enough. We thank you very much and hope to be able to return here soon.

Highly recommended – no ifs, ands, or buts! Food and drinks with a twist, away from the usual hustle and bustle. Tip: You can find pancakes on every corner in the Spreewald, but the ones served here are the best ever! Top-notch service, with a cheerful chef.

A bit difficult to find, but once you're there, it's quite cozy in the rustic restaurant or in the beer garden right on the water. We only ate here, didn't stay overnight. Reservations are recommended.

An excellent restaurant in a fantastic location. My colleagues and I were traveling from Riesa to Berlin and decided to stop here for dinner. What a great choice! We knew nothing about the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve, but even as we approached the last kilometer, it was clear that this was not just another good restaurant, but something special. Upon our arrival, our expectations were not disappointed. The setting was beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the staff was incredibly kind. The only downside was arriving at 8:00 p.m. and discovering the kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m., with the restaurant closing at 9:00 p.m. The beer was also perfect. I recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant is relatively small.

A very concise but well-chosen menu with delicious seasonal specialties and fresh fish from the Spreewald region. A rustic ambiance and very attentive service. Parking is available approximately 700 meters away.

We can't comment on the rooms, but we were there for lunch. It was excellent, and the service was super friendly, attentive, and funny. We had a wonderful break there, and we'll be happy to stop by again if we're ever in the area!

We didn't sleep there, we just ate there. The restaurant inside is very cute and quaint. It is also very romantic and nice outside by the small rivers. The food was very tasty. Cucumber salad a bit “expensive” for its size. The wines were really good - the Scheurebe was extremely sparkling and delicious! The service: very friendly and has a sense of humor, like everywhere else in the Spreewald - everyone is very quick-witted 😉😃🙏 Restaurant: highly recommended

Yesterday we had dinner at Kaupen Nr 6 with 12 friends. The selection of seasonal and regional dishes is great. Everything tasted great and was very nicely prepared. Although the restaurant is only accessible via the waterway or a short walk from the parking lot, I highly recommend it. It is very romantically located and the interior is a great mix of modern and traditional. The service is also an A+. I'd love to come back

We like to come here in summer and enjoy this great, quiet place right on the Spree. Great device & authentic food.

First of all, I can't rate the rooms, they were only for eating. ^^ We didn't know the restaurant until today, but we would definitely recommend it to everyone. The service is absolutely top! This applies to all employees - attentive, friendly, not stressed even though they are busy. Always a smile on your face. The man of the house does his homework when it comes to customer service and cooperation with the employees. With the young guests, you are on a great wavelength with casual sayings. The menu is small, but everyone will find something. Be it fish, meat or vegetarian dishes. The dishes are visually presented very attractively. But not overly fancy. The dishes are seasonal. The children's menu is well presented - nice, imaginative names, but behind them there are typical children's dishes. Our group had dishes across the menu. My chicken with foccia was super tasty. The herbal plins is a visual and taste highlight. We will definitely come back!

We were there on a short trip. The operation was ok, but the toilet facilities left a lot to be desired. Regardless of the fact that it is an older model, they weren't really cleaned and you actually had the impression that it was just about making money instead of providing the service that comes with it. We would refrain from another visit.

Discovered by chance during the boat trip and recommended. Visited unexpectedly, very pleasantly surprised. The location, directly on the Spreewald, does not need to be mentioned. 😉 Now the restaurant is one of the best German restaurants I have visited so far. The fish soup and fish fillet with creamy sauce were really tasty, and the cucumber salad with dill and sweet and sour cream was simply delicious and refreshing. We would definitely come again to try other menus.

I thought potatoes with quark and linseed oil would be relatively comparable everywhere. But that was sensational! And then in the relaxed garden atmosphere by the river. Nice for a relaxing afternoon 🙌🏼☀️

Inside, guests can expect a no less beautiful dining room with an old tiled stove. The Plins for dessert are probably the best in the Spreewald. For us the best restaurant in the Spreewald.

We got a place in this beautiful place without a reservation and were served very nicely, including entertaining conversations. The food is really amazing; Rarely have we eaten so well - at fair prices! You definitely have to go here to enjoy excellent cuisine and life.

Although many tables were reserved and it was very full, a table was made available for us and we were served very friendly. Even short waiting times were communicated openly and warmly. The lentils were delicious. We would love to come back and try more of the menu. Update: a year after our first visit, we remembered to make a reservation here on our trip to the Spreewald and had a great time. We sat at the front by the water and ate great food. I also thought it was great to be able to try vegan/vegetarian dishes that aren't available everywhere.
