Gasthaus Högner in Gauting

Very disappointing. We tried all day to reserve a table by phone – no one answered. When we went there directly that evening, we were left standing at the entrance for about 10 minutes without anyone attending to us. Finally, a waitress came and told us that everything was full and we needed to make a reservation. Unfortunately, after several failed attempts to call, that wasn't possible. We found this to be a very rude and frustrating experience, and we won't be coming back.

We're thrilled. It was our first time there, and it was fantastic. The service was amazing. The food was excellent. We'll be coming more often now.

A lovely farmhouse restaurant, cozy and authentically decorated, with super friendly and fast service and fair prices, especially for the excellent Augustiner beer. We've added this restaurant to our list of places we want to visit more often.

Service: friendly, polite, and fast. Food: large portions, very well-cooked meat (they even asked about the doneness), plentiful and good sauces, good salad dressing, and good side dishes. Prices are perfectly reasonable. Restaurant: clean, nicely decorated, and quaint.

A lovely beer garden for a break during our bike ride – the food was really very good. Unfortunately, to be honest, we didn't feel welcomed by the service: the atmosphere was rather irritable, and some things were made unnecessarily complicated – a shame, because what you're really looking for here is a straightforward, relaxed experience. If anything changes, we would definitely like to come back.

We spontaneously ate in the beer garden and were very impressed by the quick service and the delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere under the chestnut trees.

Unfortunately, my motorcycle broke down near Unterbrunn today – I ran out of fuel (the reserve didn't kick in :-()). Fortunately, I was able to reach the Gasthof Högner on foot. I received a very friendly welcome, and they immediately tried to help me, even though they were just preparing lunch. Mr. Kaindl even went to his father's house to get a few liters of fuel. But that wasn't enough; he even drove me to my motorcycle, all without asking for anything in return. I was very touched. In any case, the Gasthof Högner and its team are highly recommended for a culinary visit! When we go there as a family, I'll check how much fuel is left in the tank beforehand – I promise ;-)

Always a recommendation for very good food and friendly, quick and polite service.

I walked into the beer garden on a Friday evening without an appointment. I got a table after a three-minute wait. The food arrived in five minutes. It wasn't world-class, but it was absolutely fine. Very friendly and attentive staff, and the atmosphere was excellent.

The food in the beer garden was outstanding. A good menu. Traditional Bavarian cuisine. Friendly service. I'll definitely be back soon.

Super delicious food and super nice atmosphere...

Nice restaurant, nice staff. 2 minutes after ordering the food it was already served! Everything is way too fast... unfortunately it's also uncomfortable. The veal schnitzel was made in the deep fryer, so everything was extremely fatty. Personally, I felt sorry for the calf. It doesn't deserve this treatment. So we won't be coming anymore.

The annual pot roast dinner is always a treat.

An absolutely recommendable restaurant that lives the classic Bavarian tavern culture to perfection! The menu offers everything your heart desires - from hearty delicacies to classic dishes that are perfectly prepared. The food was simply excellent, fresh and full of flavor. I also really enjoyed the beer – an excellent selection. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. The prices are fair and absolutely justified for the quality on offer. Since the restaurant is often busy, you should definitely make a reservation. Anyone who appreciates the Bavarian tavern atmosphere has come to the right place - definitely worth a visit!

Very nice and cozy Bavarian inn. Very friendly and attentive service. The food was super tasty and can only be recommended. We had the venison goulash, the daily special, which was super tender and excellent! We also had the onion roast and the Wiener Schnitzel from the menu. Both were also very tasty! Everything was perfect and we will definitely come back.

We were invited to a celebration at the inn. There was an excellent roast pork with dumplings and coleslaw. For dessert, a sensational Kaiserschmarrn with berries and roasted almonds was served. A dream. The service team was super nice and quick. We also stayed at the inn and had a nice, spacious room with a seating area and large bathroom. The beds are very good and there is also a small refrigerator available. The farmer's bread for breakfast was delicious and there was fresh butcher's cold cuts. Thank you for your hospitality, we felt very comfortable.

Well, that was nothing! We were on our way back to Munich today and shortly before 8 p.m. we thought we'd have something to eat in the beer garden. The small mini garden was well occupied. However, we sat there for many minutes and nothing happened. Two young ladies decided that it was more important to clear the empty tables and re-set them. People kept looking over at us, but there was no menu, no drink order. We went again and will definitely not go there again. At 9 p.m. we had already had a wonderful meal in Planegg.

We often eat and order from Gasthaus Högner. The food was always very good, the staff was always very friendly. Great!

I can only highly recommend the Gasthaus Högner team. From the food to the drinks and also the service, everything is top. Everyone is super friendly and customers' wishes are taken into account. It is a real, well-run family business.

The location is in a small picturesque and purely authentic German village. I recommend with pleasure!

Great economy, I can only recommend everything is great

Even though I haven't used the hotel yet, I use the beer garden more often. Cozy, Bavarian with a manageable menu that doesn't lack any of the tavern culture. The roast pork is wonderfully crispy and the dumplings are exactly as they should be. Traditional Bavarian cuisine as you would expect from a good inn - at very fair prices!

Unfortunately, sometimes there is not enough parking space for the many guests, but if you look, you will find. Good home-style Bavarian cuisine, friendly staff, cozy inn, nice beer garden. I have never been disappointed with the food. Very popular, also + especially with locals. Reservations recommended!

We really enjoy eating here, it's always very good and nice to look at. The portions are also sufficient for hungry people. It's best in summer when you can use the beer garden.

One of the few good Bavarian inns in the area. Really perfect, home-made food, not a long wait, very friendly staff in traditional costume and fair price. Looking forward to next time. Ps: the roast beef is unbeatable!

Als kurzfristig Angereiste konnten wir keinen Platz vorbestellen. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr bemüht und haben uns unser Abendessen doch noch ermöglicht, trotz ausgebuchtem Restaurant. Der ofenfrische Schweinebraten war dann auch top und hat super geschmeckt. Wenn wir mal wieder in der Nähe sind, kehren wir gerne dort wieder ein. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Echte bayerische Gastwirtschaft, noch völlig in Familienhand. Schweinsbraten sehr gut! Perfektes Rammerl... Und das Wiener Schnitzel ebenso!

Aus meiner Sichr das beste Gasthaus im Raum Starnberg. Gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung, schnelle Küche im schönen bayerischen Ambiente. Dazu Augustiner Bier und ein schöner Biergarten. Man spürt beim Wirt und seinem Personal, dass sie die Gastronomie gerne betreiben.

Sehr nettes Wirtshaus in Unterbrunn. Wir sind zu Fuß von der Sbahn-Station Gauting hinspaziert, da konnten wir uns umso mehr auf ein kühles Augustiner-Helles freuen. Wir saßen draussen im schönen Biergarten unter Kastanienbäumen, aber die Stube innen sieht sehr gemütlich und urig aus. Bergsteigerschnitzel und Ochsentatar waren traumhaft, die Preise sind wirklich mehr als moderat (Bergsteigerschnitzel 14,90€/ Tatar 15,90€/ Helles 3,90€). Die Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen im Familienbetrieb sind sehr freundlich und flott. Wir kommen gern wieder :)

Leckere Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung, aufmerksam und schnell. Die Karte hat für jeden etwas, die Preise sind wirklich gut. Portionen gut, geschmacklich top. Eigentlich 1 Stern Abzug, weil meine Reservierungsmail übersehen wurde, aber es wurde sehr offen und professionell erledigt. Dann sehe ich gerne darüber hinweg, denn das ist heute keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend...und der Kaiserschmarrn war der Hammer :-) Btw: Man sollte def. den Tisch reservieren! Das Lokal ist gut besucht!

Vatertag. Der Jun. hat den Opa eingeladen. Urige Bauernstube. Zwiebel Rostbraten und Haxen Weltklasse. Beide Mädels Bedienung sehr freundlich. Wir kommen wieder mal.... Bier zum halben Preis, muss man aber wissen. Die urigen Vaeter alle gefeiert..... Wohlfühlkarakter... Danke....
