Very cozy/quaint guesthouse with an extremely nice and informative host. The food was delicious 😋 and prepared with love, including the vegetarian food (salmon with potato pancakes). Thank you and always a full house.

We are here in Masserberg for the weekend and were out and about looking for a restaurant. We found the restaurant Herrenhaus by chance. We were surprised that it was so empty. Two guests were leaving and two more were coming. We had schnitzel 1* with egg and once with salsify. We really liked the atmosphere, it radiates a lot of coziness. We enjoyed the food very much. I thought it was particularly cool that salsify was offered; I have never seen it like this anywhere before. The boss was friendly, the food came to the table quickly, fresh and hot. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

If you are in Masserberg you should definitely visit the Herrnhaus inn. If you like Thuringian dishes, you're in the right place. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The comfortably furnished inn is located slightly off the main road in beautiful and quiet surroundings. When the weather is nice, you can also enjoy cool drinks and good food on the cozy outdoor terrace. Note opening times. The price/performance ratio is great. The very friendly landlord is happy to provide information about current specialties that are not on the menu. If you have any questions about the surrounding area or sights, you are also in good hands with the innkeeper. Conclusion: highly recommended - we would be happy to come back.

We have been coming to Masserberg for a week for years. We always had dinner at the Herrnhaus inn. We were always very satisfied with the quality of the food. The menu is clear, which is also a clear indication of good, freshly cooked food. Additionally, daily specials are offered every day. The guest room was always in a very clean condition. We cannot understand the negative reviews and do not consider them credible.

Very, very tasty food in a cozy atmosphere with a beautiful view. The owners are service-oriented, open and warm. The prices are quite cheap. It's worth coming back here.

The mansion in Masserberg is definitely worth a visit. I absolutely cannot share the bad review posted a few days ago. We went there for dinner twice. The landlord is very personable, the food is really freshly prepared, very well seasoned and it fills you up well. So please don't let this overly critical review guide you and form your own opinion of the mansion!

Nice restaurant, quietly located. Owner is very nice and accommodating. Food was very good. There doesn't always have to be 50 dishes on the menu. It is important that it is freshly prepared and tastes good.

Das Essen ist sehr gut. Gut bürgerliche Küche. Immer extra Empfehlungen vom Chef. Sehr freundlich, man fühlt sich gut aufgenommen, sehr familiär.

Unfortunately, for me and other guests, the food was not as tasty as it was portrayed. The “Berner” schnitzel is a frozen schnitzel with pressed ham from the package and slices of cheese. Total cost of goods no more than €4, or a maximum of €5. To then charge €17 rounded up for this... I think it's excessive to just fry a schnitzel briefly! no other side dishes than over-salted potatoes. Sorry but the food didn't deserve a star. I can get a better frozen schnitzel with side dishes at every system catering gas station for €10. Plus a beer for €4.50... I think that's daring. At €3.50 I would have drunk two. so it stayed with one. The service would have been outstanding if cheap K-Classic ketchup and MAJO weren't served. There was also expired Worcester sauce on the table. It would be commendable that the innkeeper brought a meal 500m to the clinic by car as a delivery service. The ambience would be so cool if there weren't cigarette butt boxes lying everywhere on the "old" sideboards or the outdoor seat cushions stacked up in the empty dining room... that doesn't make a good impression and looks like cleaning up and getting thrown out. Maybe because of that and the increased prices for the “fast” ones No one else was in the restaurant for TK dishes on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Unfortunately the morning pint didn't work... even though Google says it's open 24 hours a day. This should and can be changed quickly as the owner.

Friendly host, atmosphere felt a bit thrown together but nice. The food was okay. I had schnitzel with fries. To be honest, I've eaten better somewhere else. But I went home full. So satisfied. My companions were very satisfied with the food.

Very nice and attentive host! The food, hearty and freshly cooked home cooking, was exactly what we were looking for. The potato salad was a dream and didn't come out of the bucket. The portion sizes were perfect. So we went there twice.

We went to a traditional pork knuckle meal with our friends. The host, friendly and funny as always, looked after us lovingly. The table was beautifully set and the room ambience was warm and welcoming and there was an eye-catcher everywhere. The pork knuckle was a delicacy and the sauerkraut was also very good. We stayed for many hours.

It was delicious, I can't understand some people's enthusiasm, we were satisfied. The service was great, very nice and accommodating!

We (2 people) went to the Herrnhaus for dinner yesterday. When we entered the guest room we were warmly welcomed by the landlord and the other guests. The atmosphere was very inviting and the decoration was made with love. Our wishes were meticulously addressed with a level of friendliness that was second to none. When the food was served the positive impression continued. The food was served hot, which is important to us, and the taste was a delight that flattered the palate. Schönes Ambiente, kleine regionale Speisekarte mit leckerem landestypischem Essen zu moderaten Preisen mit sympathischer Bedienung. Ich war mehr als positiv überrascht und würde jederzeit dort wieder Essen gehen.

Leckeres Essen und ausgezeichneter Service. Wir waren mit drei kleinen Kindern da, die super freundlich bedient wurden und mit tollen Kniffelspielen bei Laune gehalten wurden (auch wir Erwachsenen). Es gibt auch eine Spielecke mit Spielküche und Werkbank. Das Essen hat wirklich allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Circa 400m von der Rehaklinik in Masserberg,direkt im Ort,sehr schöne Gaststube mit liebevoller Dekoration,mega netter und aufmerksamer Service,gutes Speisenangebot( mit frisch gesammelten Pilzen direkt aus dem Thüringer Wald!) unglaublich lecker,saubere Toiletten,schöner Ausblick- kann ich bestens empfehlen,sollte man unbedingt besuchen da Preis- Leistung hervorragend sind.

Super Gaststätte, sehr zu empfehlen. Leckeres Essen. Sehr nette Bedienung. Jeder Wunsch der Machbar ist, wird erfüllt. Super tolles Thüringener Essen.

Das Essen war ok. Die Speisekarte lässt leider nicht viel Auswahl und Getränke Cola/Fanta/Sprite kommen aus der 1,5L PET Flasche von irgend einem Discounter.

Ist zwar alles etwas älter aber es ist gemütlich und das Essen ist sehr sehr gut.

Wir waren zum Ostersonntag hier:Rehbraten, Osterlamm oder Zander mit warmen Kartoffelsalat. Sehr lecker, hausgemachte Klösse (wo findet man die noch?). Sehr gute Bedienung! Probiert es selbst!

Echt gemütliches Thüringer Restaurant, mit einem regionalen Speisenangebot und freundlicher Bedienung. Fußballfreunde haben die Möglichkeit, dank des Sky-Angebots gemeinsam ihrem Hobby nachzugehen. Bei wichtigen Spielen gibt es gern auch mal Sonderöffnungszeiten.

Sehr gute Küche. Die Thüringer Klöße mit Rehgulasch waren saulecker. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Wurden direkt nett bedient, mit Empfehlung eines nicht auf der Karte aufgeführten Tagesgerichts. Am essen selbst gibt es nichts auszusetzen, gut bürgerliche Küche.

Tolles Essen bei gutem Preis. Ein sehr freundlicher Wirt. Auch unser kleiner Wirbelwind konnte ihm die Ruhe nicht nehmen. Das Restaurant ist geschmackvoll und nicht kitschig eingerichtet. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Wir kehrten hier auf Kaffe und Kuchen ein. Sehr zu empfehlen, frisch gebackener Kuchen, nette Bedienung.

Hier vandaag kop koffie en gebak wezen eten na 18km lopen. Leuke, gezellige sfeer binnen. Terras buiten is niet heel groot, maar wel gezellig. Het pruimengebak was heerlijk met een flinke toef slagroom. Cappuccino idem. Het is rustig zitten op het terras op een door de weekse dag.

Trotz Anmeldung waren sehr wenig Speisen zur Verfügung. Man hätte bei der Telefonischen Reservierung darauf hinweisen können. Unfreundlich und mürrige Bedienung. Haben dann unsere Essenbestellung Rückgängig gemacht und sind dann gegangen.

Sehr leckeres Essen und ein toller Wirt. Wir haben uns gut aufgehobenen gefühlt. Leider war die Sülze immer aus 🍴 SCHADE. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die Kartoffelpuffer mit Lachs.

Echte hausgemachte thüringer Küche ohne zeitgeistlichen Schnickschnack in gemütlichem, aber nicht kitschigem Ambiente. Vernünftige Preise für sehr gute Qualität (regionale Produkte).
