Unfortunately the 4-5 stars are not understandable. I just wanted to have something for Sunday lunch. Firstly, you are ignored right from the start, no service at the door or to be found inside the restaurant. Or you are simply ignored. After about 5 minutes of waiting and looking/looking for a place (it was neither full nor were there any seats available), 2 other guests (with knowledge) went straight into the kitchen and asked for payment. "I'm still serving," came the sound from the kitchen. They were then allowed to pay. 😉 I continued to be ignored and had now placed myself inside. After the question about the card came, you can guess three times: 'I'll serve first.' There were a maximum of 6-8 people sitting in the restaurant, at least 4 of whom had already eaten. Then I finally got the menu, which I could get personally at the counter upon request and wanted to order a drink straight away. ...'I'll serve the other guests first.' After another 5 minutes no one came and I left after a good 15 minutes total time without any service. Sorry, that's not possible. Then secondly, to describe the Thuringian dumpling as Thuringian mud pampe, in the Swabian dialect, and to praise spaetzle as the highlight of kitchen culture.😄 Shoemaker, stick to your guns!! If you can't make Thuringian dumplings or know that the effort is probably five times as high as making cheap Swabian pastries, I feel sorry for you. Therefore, this conversation with other guests was also the second reason why I left the restaurant. And no, I don't have a personal problem with the operators because I don't even know them, but the first impression spoke volumes. Please let it be! I'll leave it alone and won't go there again.

Wow, such a great restaurant. The food was so good that we ate there twice this week, really great meat. Maultaschen are homemade. We'll definitely be back. Greetings from the Radolfzellers...

Was there for a weekend and it was really great. The rooms are cozy, clean and nicely decorated. Nothing is missing. The food was fantastic, it was really tasty. Good portions. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Do their best for the guests. I will 100% come back. Simply recommended 👌

A quaint and cozy little guesthouse with a nice restaurant. We spent one night followed by breakfast and a nice chat with the innkeeper. We felt well looked after and comfortable.

We spent 4 wonderful days in the guesthouse. Starting with the super nice owners, absolutely delicious food and lovingly furnished rooms, every wish is met here, even if it is a little out of the ordinary. A MUST for meat lovers! The ragout fin is simply world class. But the salad bowl is also recommended! For this quality of food the price is extremely fair!!!!

The most beautiful restaurant in the region… the service is really very professional and friendly… I was very lucky, especially because I had the opportunity to meet the family that owns the restaurant.

After a long time we decided to visit the "Black Eagle" with new operators. We hadn't made a reservation, Ms. König gave us a friendly welcome, we were given a place straight away, and our dog was also welcome. We enjoyed the food very much. You can tell that Mr. König knows his craft. We would also like to thank you for the friendly conversation about the past and future. We wish the König family all the best, lots of inspiration for the future and lots of strength for the daily challenges.

Great restaurant with super delicious food. Highly recommended. The restaurant and toilets are clean. However, it needs a refresh and the atmosphere is very old. Decoration and furnishings are a mix of old and new. I would be happy about a unified concept.

Overpriced, small portion truckstop schnitzel. Deep frozen. Better quality at a local imbis stand. I left feeling taken advantage of. # neveragain.

🌲🍄 On August 17th, 2023 we were warmly welcomed and treated to culinary delights (truffles). People are still cooking here!!! 🎈🎈🎈 (It smells wonderful as soon as you come in) Very attentive and accommodating. At breakfast....(there's still some room for improvement) I was secretly hoping for this terribly delicious Thuringian house slaughter sausage... Wir hatten im Rahmen des Woodstock Forever Festival's für 3 Tage gebucht. Alles war bestens. Familiengeführtes Haus, sehr nette Wirtsleute, die immer vor Ort waren und uns unsere Wünsche sogar außerhalb der regulären Öffnungszeiten erfüllt haben. Das angebotene Essen im Restaurant ist eine klare Empfehlung. Vielen Dank.

Eine schöne und leckere kleine übersichtliche Karte plus Saison Karte. Wurden sehr nett und freundlich empfangen , das Essen war superlecker !!!. Hier twee keer gegeten tijdens onze vakantie. Super aardig en vriendelijk personeel. Een leuk gesprek gehad met de eigenaar. Heerlijk eten, prima restaurant, normale prijze en goede service!

Wir waren zum Wandern da und sind eine Nacht geblieben. In der Gegend sind Zimmer, zumal für eine Kleine Gruppe, sehr knapp. Dafür war das Zimmer echt ok. Einfach aber gemütlich und sauber. Das Abendessen konnte sich, im Vergleich zu den anderen Häusern (Tourismus liegt den Leuten in der Gegend echt nicht im Blut) sehen lassen. Wir waren zufrieden. Lediglich beim Frühstück gibt es Aufbackbrötchen. Das geht gar nicht!

wir waren vom 27.12.22-02.01.23 zu Gast im schwarzen Adler und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, vom sehr leckerem Frühsück bis zu den überaus freundlichen Gastgebern. Das Highlight war das Sylvesterbuffett, was keine Wünsche offen liess, da kann man dem Gasthof zu diesem Koch nur gratulieren.

Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Es ist nur schade das es keine Thüringer Küche mehr gibt. Das würde authentischer wirken.

Im Rahmen eines Familienjubiläums waren wir vom 23.12.22-26.12.22 Gäste im Schwarzen Adler. Wir wurden offen und herzlich von Familie König empfangen. So viel Aufmerksamkeit und gastronomischer Sachverstand ist leider in den letzten Jahren sehr, sehr selten geworden. Dazu trägt auch das Können und das Arrangement vom „Chef de Cuisine" Michel bei. Selbst außergewöhnliche Sonderwünsche zum Heiligen Abend wurden selbstlos von Familie König erfüllt !!! Das Niveau der Speisen & Getränke hätten wir in diesem für heutige Verhältnisse mittleren Preissegment niemals erwartet. Wer rechnet schon mit Perigord Trüffeln in Fehrenbach im Thüringer Wald?? ABSOLUT TOP !! Wir kommen nicht nur einmal wieder. Vielen vielen Dank.

Um es vorwegzunehmen: absolute Empfehlung! Die Inhaber haben das Hotel erst letztes Jahr übernommen. Aber schon Einiges bewegt. Das Highlight ist die Küche. Nicht sehr umfangreiche, aber erlesene Speisekarte. Das ermöglicht dem eigenen Anspruch gerecht zu werden - frisch zubereitete Speisen auf den Tisch zu bringen. Bedingt natürlich auch eine gewisse Wartezeit, aber dafür wird man mit einem vorzüglichen Essen "entschädigt". Oder besser - belohnt. Vielen Dank auch hier nochmal an Michel! Er sollte noch lange in der Küche den Löffel schwingen. Die Zimmer sind ok ausgestattet, sauber. Gut, das Bad macht nicht viel her. Aber da wird sich nach Aussagen der Inhaber noch Einiges ändern. Danke an Ellen und Michael König für die interessanten Gespräche. Wir wünschen viel Erfolg bei der Umsetzung Eurer Pläne und kommen gern wieder.

Sehr nette Bedienung, essen war super lecker und der Preis hat auch gestimmt. Hunde dürfen auch mit rein. Alles in allem einfach top und nur weiter zu empfehlen! 😁

ist ok, für einen Zwischenstopp, der höchste Preis für ein Rumpsteak ca. 40 €, wir haben dann Schnitzel für ca. 15 €, bestellt. aber ja, man kann einkehren, Wirt ist freundlich.

Wir mussten leider lange auf das Essen warten. Die Erklärung, dass man am Nachbartisch Chateaubriant bestellt habe, machte uns auch nicht satter. Das typische Thüringer Rostbrätl war nicht auf der Karte. Alles ziemlich teuer.
