I was thrilled with the Gerberhaus! The food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive. A thoroughly enjoyable visit – I'd love to come back!

We waited over 50 minutes for our food. After 45 minutes, I asked why it was taking so long. The answer was that the stove had broken down. However, other guests who arrived after us received their food. There was not even an apology. We definitely won't be back. My wife's dumplings were also too salty. We advise against it.

Absolute disaster! Embarrassing 🙈! Stay away! Entered on an early Saturday afternoon with a group of 14 to have family lunch. Location is nice and clean. What’s hitting you is the smell which is a little annoying. Not sure where it comes from. Myself ordered the Südtiroler Schnitzel with Sauce. Did not expect much but what I got was less than little. Meat tasted chewy, was cold and not even seasoned. Fried potatoes called Bratkartoffeln were a no go. Cold, awkward tast of the potatoes itself … had three bites before I returned it to the kitchen No service showed up after plates were served - just to mention on a side note. Even the French fries I had ordered extra as a side were poor. Cold, not even seasoned with salt… just no tast. Desaster hit the fan when I wanted to pay my ceck for me and my wife. I told the waitress that I was not happy with my dish to give her information. She pretty much did not care at all. What am I complaining about, I took your dish from the check. Ok yeah got it but don’t you care why I returned it to the kitchen..”NO!” Ok… she then started giving me a such a hard time arguing and debating plus refused to let me pay by leaving after I did ask her three time to please let me pay so I can leave since talking to her just did not make sense .. She came back with the manager and I told him to please let me pay because I want to leave because it’s embarrassing. She started arguing with him and told him how such a terrible person I am… I told the manager I would like to talk to him outside and did ask him to please tell Her to let me pay! Outside I told the manager what happened Dear manager : this person has no place in the restaurant business! Don’t worry about the poor food - things happen but her way on acting to it and treating me is just a strict “never ever!”

A truly charming inn with excellent service and outstanding local cuisine at reasonable prices. Highly recommended, away from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough to eat.

We were in Neustadt for the first time last night and cycled past the restaurant, which is located in the beautiful old house. However, all the outdoor seats were taken. On the way back, we were lucky and got a seat outside in the beautiful weather. The meal, "the Palatinate plate," was very good. I finally got to try the Palatinate Saumagen, and I really enjoyed it. We'd love to come back again.

Great Food ans Friends service

The building of the restaurant itself is a gemstone! It’s very cute and historical, it is worth a visit. The menu is German local cuisine, traditional, some with a bit of creative touch, yet special delicious. Everything that we ordered was very tasty! It was busy when we arrived. We had booked a table for 6 of us in advance, so no problem at all. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed everything here and had a wonderful dinner time! The staffs were very busy all the time, thanks to the team of the restaurant!

I was invited to this place by a friend in Neustadt. last week. The atmosphere and the food were enjoyable! The dishes were carefully decorated and prepared with a selected choice of aromas and eye-catchy garnishments. I had the Pfifferlingen Maultaschen (recommended vegetarian option in my opinion). However, what really blew me away was how amazing the Kaiserschmarrn tasted! In the end it was a great experience but definitely overpriced, hence the lower stars.

A 40-minute wait—when I politely asked for drinks, I received a rude response. We then voluntarily left the restaurant after about 45 minutes. Drinks still hadn't been served. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant.

I ordered small portion but they charged for full portion. This happened 3rd time in a row. Then the staff is arrogant and not ready to admit mistakes.. Food is good but not worth this non sense. There are so many other good places to eat in Neustadt so better to avoid this one. I was a regular visitor but now decided to stay away. I hope they get some sense to understand that this is not the way restaurant industry works.

After a long time we had reserved a table there again. Ambiance is still very nice. Very good selection of drinks and offerings on the menu. Bratwurst, saumagen and tarte flambée were very good, as was rump steak, unfortunately as the plate was ice cold it quickly went cold, the fried potatoes (+5.00€) were not crispy, rather bathed in oil. Quite inattentive in terms of service. (..or overwhelmed due to the two floors?) One waitress was very attentive and friendly, the other didn't even listen, which unfortunately meant that we only had one drink. Conclusion: Good, but with room for improvement!

As soon as we entered the restaurant we were rudely directed to the table. I was recommended Saumagen with asparagus and puree, when the food came the asparagus was missing. When I asked, the waitress became rude and said the asparagus was out. She came back later and claimed that the asparagus had been mixed into the sausage's stomach. I have never experienced such insolence in a restaurant. The waitress tried to teach us in a primitive way. If you can't/don't want to work in service, you should leave it alone.

After a hike in the beautiful Palatinate, stop at a restaurant and enjoy food with Palatinate wine - that was the idea. There are no suitable words for the service provided, here service staff - however, even if there is a shortage of staff, attention should be paid to friendliness, attentiveness and articulation. Guests should be welcome and served promptly! The food for four people (four different dishes) was all very average, although at a higher price. The ambience matches the impression of the beautiful Palatinate.

We wanted to try out the kitchen in this beautiful building on the occasion of my birthday on Thursday. Since an online reservation was not possible, I contacted the Gerberhaus by email on Tuesday and asked them to confirm the reservation for 2 people on Thursday at 5 p.m. When I hadn't heard anything on Wednesday, I called the landline number and again recorded my request. When I hadn't heard anything by 12 p.m. on Thursday, I sent an email to say that the whole thing was sorted out for me and we went somewhere else for lunch at lunchtime. Late in the afternoon on Thursday I was called back and told in a rude tone that my email had only been sent to the boss herself and not to the staff in the restaurant. When I commented that this wasn't good management, I was addressed as "good woman" and the employee cheekily told me that she had to have two days off.

Yes, a restaurant in a historic house with appropriate furnishings. The staff was quickly attentive and could have been a bit more polite.

We were given a very friendly welcome on the ground floor and sent to a free table on the 1st floor. We stayed there for a brave 15 minutes without receiving any further attention until we gave up along with another couple. Too bad 😔

Quaint Palatinate restaurant. Extra requests (or rather extra sausages) are taken into account. Delicious food and not over salted or over seasoned.

I had the dumplings for my main course and was very surprised when my rusty knights arrived for dessert. They were the dumplings from before, with cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla sauce. It was fun, to say the least.

We had already made a reservation for our Christmas party on December 20, 2024, at 7 p.m. This summer. Seven of us were seated at two tables of different heights, which was a bit awkward. Drinks were taken and brought quickly, and then our dinner orders came straight away. The food arrived very promptly and everyone enjoyed it. Kudos to the kitchen for that. The portion of fries for five euros was a bit small, but oh well. The plates were cleared quickly after the meal, but we weren't asked if we wanted anything else. After about 10 minutes, our manager personally went downstairs to the waiter because we wanted to order dessert. He came back and told us that there were no more nightstands available because the kitchen closes at 8:30. We were, of course, very annoyed afterward because we weren't informed that the kitchen was closing so early, nor were we asked during clearing if anyone else wanted a nightstand because the kitchen was closing soon. We weren't even asked if anyone wanted a coffee or schnapps. We were only able to order a second drink because we called the waiter again. She came on her own initiative to tell us at 10 p.m. that she was closing and would like to collect her money. In 25 years of going to Christmas parties with my employer, I've never experienced anything like this. Unfortunately, this isn't good service, and we won't recommend the restaurant.

Review “Gerberhaus” in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse On Saturday November 30th, 2024 we had a reservation in Gerberhaus. That worked well and we were assigned a table on the 1st floor. It was also a nice evening there, but unfortunately with a few drawbacks. 1. Ambiance: Very nice, well-kept half-timbered house with contemporary furnishings and also very clean. Guests are given a look into the open kitchen, which is clean. This also applies to the toilets. The places are also beautifully designed, although space is limited. 2. Atmosphere: Audience of all generations, it's not too loud there, you can have a good conversation there. There is a feel-good factor, the light is pleasant and warm. 3. Food: The menu is very clear and consists of several typical dishes, as well as typical German dishes. They are served beautifully presented and are fresh and hot. As a “non-gourmet” person, I enjoyed it very much. The portions are generous and well balanced. 4. Price performance ratio: The prices are completely reasonable, this applies to the main course, as well as starters and desserts, as well as drinks. The 1:4 ratio goes here. 5. Service and Owner: Here it comes to the point mentioned above where I have to make compromises: We had to wait a relatively long time to take our order, but drinks and food came quickly. Our waitress seemed a bit stressed and wasn't as friendly as one would have expected. Shortly before closing it was no longer possible to get dessert. The owners themselves seemed extremely arrogant and a bit snotty. In a conversation about my origins from Karlsruhe, they talked about it in a very condescending manner, which took away my good mood for a moment. That shouldn't be the case with me as a guest. True to the motto: “You are just guests and we are something better.” There is no need to secure the guest as a regular customer. We spontaneously wanted to eat there because we really liked the atmosphere. After a quick look into the very nice dining room, we could see that there were still two seats available at almost all tables. There were no reservations except for one table. I asked the waitress if we could sit down without a reservation. She categorically rejected this because, in her opinion, there were no free places. There was a table next to us with friendly-looking people who I spontaneously asked if we could use two of the four free seats there. The table company welcomed this very much. However, the waitress did not agree with this at all and told me that she did not approve of my arbitrary behavior in any way. Ultimately we left the dining room again, even though we would have liked to have dinner company there. Dear service - a chair is brought out of the kitchen in our winery in Rhoihesse so that there is room for new guests. We live getting to know each other and socializing. This may be a bit strange for you, but it can lead to great acquaintances or even friendships.

The ambience is quite OK. But the cold food and service were not okay for these prices. The quantity also left a lot to be desired. The drinks, on the other hand, were good and cheap.

We did have a small complaint about a meal, but it was handled completely professionally. There was a dessert as an apology and the food in question was not charged for at all. The taste was very good, but that was the case. Cordon Bleu was not completely cooked through. We would love to come back!

Quaint, really nice restaurant. Despite a misunderstanding during the reservation, we were allowed to stay. That was great. The food and service were great - absolutely recommended. Price-performance ratio is also very good. We will definitely come back next time we are here!

Friendly service staff, great food and drink, rustic and cozy atmosphere.

When making the reservation I specifically asked whether there was still wild boar. When we came there was none left. Disappointed, I ordered chestnut saumagen with cabbage. Here the chestnuts were crossed out. Instead of serving it with fried potatoes, there was no side dish for the same price. The service was also very unfriendly. It's a shame about the cozy atmosphere.

If you want to eat delicious, typical and unusual German dishes in Neustadt, you're in great hands here. I was very impressed with the dishes from the daily menu. Well prepared and every bite was a pleasure. The service and the ambience round off the evening perfectly, especially the two warm ladies who take good care of you and take time for their guests. Simply first class!

We were greeted very unfriendly at the door, the waitress came from behind and bumped into me as we came in without apologizing 👎 then she turned around and assessed me from top to bottom as a woman with mobility problems with a walker and in a rude tone snapped “Have you made a reservation?” No, we didn't because we arrived that day as holiday guests in the Palatinate and didn't know that because we had made a reservation But just the way the service was unfriendly and rude would have made us leave even if they had had space If you stare at guests because they have walking difficulties and work in the catering and service sectors, it's no wonder why German restaurants are gradually going bankrupt 😡 We then got a table at the nearby Konfetti restaurant without a reservation, were warmly welcomed there and even had another meal there during our holiday week 👍😍 The Gerberhaus will definitely not see us again and is not a recommendation!!!!

I received a very unfriendly welcome and was given a table with a dismissive gesture. And then for the rest of my stay there (I sat very close to the counter) I listened to both waitresses gossiping about the guests. One waitress was at least friendly to me, the other was snotty and passive aggressive in her demeanor. I wonder why you work in service if you apparently hate people. I find it very unprofessional and I didn't eat anything there because I lost my hunger with the kind of behavior I was treated with. Similar reviews of the service have also been written here on Google Reviews. As a boss, I would rethink my choice of employees... I will not stop there again and I will also advise those around me not to do so.

We were warmly welcomed with a charming charm from the waitress. The beer and the wine spritzer are recommended. At the beginning there was a friendly greeting from the kitchen. The taste of the dishes was convincing and the price-performance ratio was appropriate. The children's meals were sufficient and the response was quick when a schnitzel was requested. We would certainly have had a wine spritzer and a beer more if someone had asked. We will come again on our next visit.

The Gerberhaus is definitely recommended. The food is tasty and the portions are a good size. The staff does a good job. The only thing that surprised me was the prices. The Gerberschnitzel comes without any salad garnish for around 20 euros. With a small side salad about 25 euros. In a Germany-wide comparison, this is a little higher than usual for a breaded schnitzel with fried potatoes, but the evening/dishes/service were great, so it was well spent and happily spent.

Here's another restaurant with full points! It's not good to be hungry on the wine route, so we had to quickly find something to eat. Several people told us about the tanner's house, where you could eat well. What can I say?. They were right! We ate very well here and were served very friendly, even without a reservation. We have a clear recommendation!
