Service rather slow, food alright though.

Auf der Homepage steht zwar dass es nur 8er Tische gibt und man etwas zusammen rücken muß, wenn ich aber für 10 Personen einen Platz buche und dieser bestätigt wird, dann aber alle an einen 6er Tisch "gepfercht" werden sollen und dann nicht nach einer Lösung gesucht sondern patzig darauf verwiesen wird, dass es im Internet steht dass es eng wird, dafür haben wir kein Verständnis und so eine Kneipe kann ich wahrlich nicht weiter empfehlen!!

Really nice restaurant in downtown Tübingen, where you mainly meet a lot of young people. The (mostly Swabian) food there is very tasty and the idea of ​​Swabian tapas such as Maultaschen or Kässpätzle is really good. You can get your fill relatively cheaply here and you don't have to dig deep into your pockets for small extras. Vegetarians will also find what they are looking for here, for example with Schupfnudeln and sauerkraut or the large selection of salads. The dishes themselves are really tasty, but otherwise they are pretty “basic”, so there are few really unusual creations. But this doesn't really break a single point out of the crown. The way you can order here is relatively interesting. In addition to the classic controls, you can order directly to the kitchen using a QR code. Really good place, but it doesn't necessarily blow you away, hence 4/5.

In the heart of the dynamic city of Tübingen, this very friendly restaurant is located at the bend of a street. Very helpful, you will feel at ease, if this is not the case it is because you are showing bad faith! The interior decoration is very friendly and rustic, a pleasure. The cuisine is excellent, offering regional specialties. For a tourist like me eager to explore the different flavors of the region, the dishes are far from substantial, which allows you to taste other specialties without breaking the bank, your palate will thank you all the more! With that, my 2nd dish has arrived, enjoy your meal!

Yesterday I had an appointment with my mother to have tapas there, as we are in Tübingen quite often and wanted to try something new, so I read a few reviews and so we met at Bären. We ordered the turkey pan for €9.80, cheese spaetzle for €7.40 and the dumplings with mushrooms for €7.80. The price-performance ratio can be rated as insufficient for the quality offered, 5 mini pieces of completely dead fried turkey that you almost couldn't chew, but the cheese spaetzle were lukewarm and overcooked and in an indefinable, unseasoned cream cheese sauce. Anyone who thinks that the dumplings with mushrooms were better has lost their last hope here, the mushrooms come from a can and you actually have to look for these four sparsely divided pieces of canned mushrooms in a white, indefinable sauce. Dear people, that was really nothing, as a guest I normally speak up if something doesn't taste good, but I didn't do that yesterday because this food is deliberately sold to customers here and it wasn't an oversight if the chef made a bad one day might have had.

Delicious food and great performance

Swabian tapas, cool concept. But in this place two words are enough to communicate. THANK YOU when the drink or food is brought, YES when you are asked if you would like to pay by card. There is no more interaction when everything goes smoothly. It's not my thing to do everything via the app, I prefer communicating with people than with computers. But I'm old school. Otherwise the concept with the Swabian tapas is actually very original. But for individuals it would be nice if the portions were a little smaller. I've already had more than enough of two tapas. Of course, several people can swap, so you can snack on additional courses. The food was good, but as far as I can tell as a non-Swabian, not the absolute top cuisine. But cool restaurant. One waitress sent me to a colleague to pay, who then referred me to a colleague. Maybe it could be even easier. But at least more than just two words. And if you want to give a drink, you also need a number word. Oh, I still have one point. Spaetzle with lentils with and without strings are the same price? Is the meat that cheap or did I not read correctly?

Great restaurant in a great location for an idyllic stay! I think it's good that you can order yourself. What I would improve is that you can also call a waiter using your cell phone. The food tastes very tasty, I think the principle of small portions is great! There should be something for everyone. I don't think it's all that cheap. I ate 4 portions alone. Generally fifth but 3 will be sufficient! In terms of price, I still think it's reasonable because the quality and everything else is really great. Service is quick and very friendly. Gladly again!

Always great. 5/5 in all areas Only suggestion for improvement. The digital map urgently needs to be revised. For example, you cannot order white wine spritzers and other drinks digitally.

I was always a big fan of the bear, but the quality of the food has declined significantly. Prices have become incredibly expensive. 5 pieces of dry turkey pieces €9.80!!! Tap water costs just €4.90 for 0.5 liters and is not offered free of charge, even though you can eat there in a small group for more than €100. I could live with the prices if at least the quality of the food/meat was appropriate. The waitresses were very nice and accommodating. For the prices you can drink and eat much better elsewhere in Tübingen.

Great concept of tapas style German food. Food was delicious and not that smaller plates. Good options for vegetarians. Not a fan of ordering on and through qr code, but at least that was pretty painless but could have done with some photos of the dishes. Good way to try lots of types of German food in one sitting with friends or loved ones.

Amazing food! We loved the small plates that we shared, it made for a fantastic dining experience. Every plate was delicious, especially the eggplant and cheese balls, sauerkraut and the watermelon and feta salad, we really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend!!

In summer, crowds of people outside the door. The student staff drags and hustles so that the order doesn't take too long. And that works. Tapas-based dishes, so rather small portions. We recommend zucchini meatballs. We also tried the dumplings with mushroom sauce, but they were too soggy for us. The mushrooms used are canned. This could be changed with little effort. It could be 50 cents more expensive. Will have to come back for the other dishes.

I liked that they had different options at not so high prices (around 8 to 10 euros for each small plate), so you can try different options. The rosé wine arrived naturally, but they knew how to give us ice immediately. The Apfelstrudel with Vanilla cream is the best I have tried in recent times. It seems to be a fairly busy place between 6 and 8 p.m.

Puh, was soll man da sagen?! Studentischer Flair, genauso war das Essen. Warum hier jemand „ausgezeichnet“ bewertet ist uns schleierhaft. beim anschließenden Bummel durch Tübingen haben wir ein Dutzend ansprechende Lokale mit besseren Speisen gesehen. Und die Preise sind übrigens auch nicht Studenten like. Gerne nie wieder.

I can only give 4 stars. One point is deducted for the ambience. If you sit outside it is very narrow and the chairs are totally uncomfortable. But the food is good and the service is very nice.

Unfortunately the food was really disappointing.

This place was a total disaster. They have a "baby" portions and you should take lots of side dishes. But even if you do so you will remain so hungry. The other points it's so disgusting toilets, so horribly dirty. How could it pass any hygiene regulations?

The food was not so great and extremely small portions. I took the goulash and it had only 3 pieces of meat in it!

A relatively good place to go for a relaxed drink with family or friends, the food is also very good and even relatively well known. However, you have to keep in mind that it is relatively expensive, but for your money you get a great ambience, very good service and an overall good experience. However, if you are looking for a party location or want to do a pub crawl through Tübingen, which many students do, it is not recommended. But as I said, a great atmosphere, friendly and very competent service as well as good food, just a bit expensive. My tip is especially the Swabian tapas.

What was great for us was that you can order digitally. It also went super fast.

Just returned from this beautiful spot. Unfortunately I have to travel early tomorrow, otherwise I would have been here for many more hours. Compliments to the staff, I just felt comfortable and seen. Hopefully see you next time

We had the croque madame, the avocado toast with eggs with the quinoa avocadao salad, the toast, and the potato with eggs. i saw a strand of hair on the dish right when it was served and a bug in the salad.

I think the concept is great: smaller portions to share - Swabian tapas, so to speak. The prices are also acceptable and the waiting time is short. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't entirely convincing. Some portions were at most lukewarm and didn't taste great either.

I love the concept of German tapas and wish more restaurants offered this! It’s a perfect way of trying various German dishes in smaller portions! We had the schupfnudeln with sauerkraut, maultaschen, schnitzel, green salad, potatoes, käsespätzle and mushrooms. It was a perfect amount for 4 people. I will definitely come again!

All the waitresses are incredibly nice, the food is a dream, the portions are great value for money. Just a little tight to sit on.

The food was absolutely bad. “Wurstteller” had 4 salamis and that was it. The bread tasted like it was 5 days old. Soft drinks were simply brought in a glass, neither a can nor a bottle. It was also overpriced for what we got. 12€ for 4 salamis? Käsespetzle was okay but it's not difficult to cook pasta either. However, the portion was very small. There was also a food item on the cheese wedges that I didn't recognize (see photo). So in summary, they shouldn't go here.

The Bären in Tübingen, a Swabian tapas bar, impressed us with a successful evening. Since there were eight of us, we definitely had to reserve a table, which turned out to be a wise decision because the bar was well attended. The modern ordering process is particularly noteworthy: we could easily do our after-work via a QR code -Order drinks and tapas. The service was prompt and efficient - the orders came to our table quickly. The food itself was excellent. The Swabian tapas offered an interesting and tasty change from the typical tapas we usually know. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the loving preparation. The atmosphere in the Bären was calm and relaxed. Despite the full house, it never felt rushed or crowded. The interior is cozy and invites you to linger, which made the evening particularly pleasant. All in all, we can highly recommend the Bären in Tübingen - whether for a relaxed after-work evening or a social get-together with friends.

Everything very good, bad service when removing dirty dishes

Unfortunately super tight, tables are put together and are generally very close together. Food is, well, nothing special. Drinks are super expensive. Unfortunately, significantly worse than the bear in Stuttgart. Generally not recommended.

We come from Osnabrück and went to the bear on the recommendation of the campsite. A very good recommendation. From the service to the food, we received excellent service and will definitely come again.

Very nice atmosphere, great rustic house. Swabian tapas are a great idea and really tasty, the cheese spaetzle was good, but cold melted onions don't go well with it. The goulash is very tasty and the zucchini with sheep's cheese is highly recommended. Price/performance is okay

Great idea to spoil your guests with Swabian tapas. It's really fun to eat your way through very different foods in a group. Dishes are delicious, including the cocktails! The guest room was very cramped, loud and stuffy.

Food was great, service was also okay. Outside, the seating options are very narrow, as you can see in the picture. Unfortunately, the tables are far too small for “tapas” and the chairs are uncomfortable - there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to seating comfort. It's still worth a visit!

We had booked a table in advance, unfortunately they reserved a table for us directly under a music box. With 7 people, a change was not possible, but entertaining wasn't that good. The Swabian Tappas are a great idea but not so well implemented. The meat and zucchini balls and the cheese spaetzle were cold. The beetroot salad couldn't absorb the flavor of the sauce because the chunks were far too thick. Which then tasted like nothing. The staff was very friendly.

It's been a while since I've eaten so poorly. The dishes tasted like frozen food from the day before. Even the cappuccino was sour. The service is nice and desperate. The prices are relatively low but the food is not worth it.

The food really tasted very good. There is a nice selection of typical Swabian dishes. The order was taken quickly and the food was served quickly. We recommend the beef goulash, the Maultaschen and the apple strudel! Unfortunately, the homemade lemonades “Bear Lemonade” and “Little Flirt” are not recommended because they consist of 90% ice cubes.

Great atmosphere, crowded. Good selection of German/Swabian style small plates, friendly service. We went here a few times during our stay, loved it every time. I'm not a cocktail drinker, but watching the barman prepare them with obvious love was fun whilst I drank my beer.

We had a very nice lunch here as a family. The small portions of Swabian dishes offer a great opportunity to share. For the four of us (with children aged nine and twelve), seven portions were just right. Our highlight were the Maultaschen. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Gladly again!

Wir entschlossen uns spontan zu einem Abendessen im Bären und bekamen auch unkompliziert noch einen Platz zugewiesen. Das Gasthaus eignet sich für Freunde der rustikalen schwäbischen Küche. Das Essen war gut. Einen Minuspunkt gibt es für die teilweise doch sehr beengte räumliche Situation, so dass man doch ziemlich nahe "aufeinander" sitzt.

Haben hier einen Geburtstag gefeiert. Sehr tolles Ambiente, die Leute dort sind super freundlich. Hier gibt es sowas wie schwäbische Tappas. ☺ 😍 War super zum durchprobieren mit mehreren Leuten.

Great little tavern a bit hidden on a side street away from the Altstadt. Theme is a German "tapas-style" menu with a unique twist on some common regional dishes. An extensive beer list from Fischer's Brauhaus a few towns away in Mössingen. Delicious traditional styles vom fass and some more unique and seasonal beers available in flasche. Quite busy on a Saturday afternoon with a mix of locals and tourists ranging all age groups. Staff are young, friendly, and helpful. A cozy interior with some outdoor seating and it was so busy that some brave folks were sitting outside enjoying a drink on a grey December day.

Hier muss man gewesen sein wenn man in Tübingen lebt oder die Stadt besucht. Einfach schnuckelig und tolles Essen! Die Cocktails kann ich auch empfehlen. Reservieren ist hier immer sinnvoll..

We had a great time, everything was very tasty. Service was 5/5! If you want to try the national German cuisine, you should definitely come here :) Portions are not so big, for 2 people you have to order 4-5 different dishes but the prices are really good! We will definitely come here again!

Tolles Ambiente (Keller), jedoch schwache Qualität (zB Putenschnitzel schmeckt nach TK). Nettes Personal. Machen Schwäbische Tapas also kleine Portionen, dafür mehrere zur Auswahl.

Hier werden Erinnerungen an die Studienzeit wach. Zwar nicht in Tübingen studiert, aber dennoch kamen hier doch viele Uni Gedanken von früher auf. Die Cocktail Karte "Betrunkene Unterstadt"(?) las sich sehr witzig, der "Anwalt" schmeckte und das Essen (Schwäbische Tapas) war gut. Für eine Person reichen 2-3 Schalen, aber je mehr man dort ist, desto vielfältiger lassen sich die Speisen probieren, frei nach dem Motto Sharing is Caring. Der junge Service war stets freundlich und aufmerksam, hier war gemischtes Publikum unterwegs: Studierende, Dozenten, Alumnis und jeder, dem eine gemütliche Atmosphäre gefällt. Kleine Anmerkung am Rande: der Rote Bete Apfel Salat war eine doch zu große Portion ;)

Nice place I found wandering around in Tubingen. I really liked the concept of “german tapas”. Beer was great, needless to say. All the waiters were smiley and kind kids from the area who were particularly supportive with me since I do not speak good enough German to carry out a conversation. The place was cozy and food was ok. Prices absolutely fair. Will come back for sure!

Hier steppt der Bär. Es war gut was los und wir mittendrin. Die Speisen sind nach Tapas konzipiert, kleine Häppchen von denen man mehrere genießen kann. So konnten wir uns ein wenig durch die Speisekarte probieren. Es war super lecker. Einzige Anmerkung, die Hochstühle waren auf Dauer unbequem. Sonst gern wieder. Vielen Dank.

Gemütliches Restaurant/Bar für gute schwäbische Tapas

Es wurde schon alles ausführlich beschrieben. Waren zum vierten mal in Tübingen und 3x dort superlecker essen.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, auch das Ambiente finde ich rustikal und gefällt, einzug die Fässer an dem Platz den wir hatten, waren ein bisschen störend. Negativ war allerdings ganz klar das Essen, Putenschnitzel war fertigteil aus dem Großmarkt, geht gar nicht, sowie das Putenfleisch in Oregano welches einfach nur trocken und tot war, die Pilze die wir bestellt hatten waren frisch, allerdings wurde leider der knoblauch vergessen. Am Essen sollte nochmal gearbeitet werden da die Preise nicht die günstigsten sind, ansonsten würde es Passen.

Werde auf jeden Fall noch öfters hin. Das Essen ist wirklich super lecker und unsere weibliche Servicekraft (groß, schlank, blond) war absolut bezaubernd, immer am lächeln, hilfsbereit bei der Essensauswahl & immer nachgefragt ob wir noch was möchten, einfach super. Schade, dass die Tischreservierung nur auf Englisch möglich ist, so können Fehler passieren & aus dem Grund hat uns die männliche Servicekraft etwas unfreundlich an den Tisch gebracht. Man muss sich auf eng, kuschelig & sehr laut einstellen, ansonsten ein schnuckeliges Ambiente.

Tolle schwäbische Tapas. Es gibt nichts zu meckern, der Stern Abzug für wirklich sehr begrenzten Platz. Da wo wir saßen hätte eine Schwangere Frau oder etwa eine etwas kräftigere gebaute Person ( was absolut nicht abwertend gemeint ist) keine Chance gehabt sich hinzusetzen. Auch kleinen Abzug für den stolzen Preis bei 4 Personen. Wir hatten zusammengefasst nicht mehr als 10 versch. Tapas. Ambiente ist trotzdem einzigartig, Essen sehr gut und Service ebenfalls.
