Very nice inn. Kudos to the couple who run it! They have two small children, and they're open all day. But the staff is obviously reliable. The food is deliciously prepared, and the portions are generous.

A rustic ambiance, as expected. Great service. At first, there weren't any free tables, but they did everything they could to make it happen. Then they greeted us from the kitchen, saying the food would take a while because they had so many large tables. (But it didn't take long!) Then they asked if they could take our photo. The food was really good, too: original Wiener Schnitzel, turkey schnitzel in creamy mushroom sauce, cheese spaetzle, and a turkey schnitzel Viennese style. Everything was perfect!

We went there for dinner with a large group after a funeral. There was supposed to be soup for starters. For the main course, mashed potatoes with meatballs and gravy. We brought our own dessert. The soup was really OK, and it was quite edible, but the main course was terrible. Mashed potatoes from a packet, and the meatballs were ready-made, microwaved stuff with a strange consistency. Yeah, that was really bad for a restaurant. There were two young female servers who tried hard, but when we asked during clearing up whether we enjoyed our meal, and unfortunately, most people had to say no, they ignored us. Did they get it delivered, did the young ladies make it themselves, or did they just open the packet and turn on the microwave? We don't know. How could a restaurant mess up such a simple meal like that? Horrible! We were beyond disappointed and went home hungry. Not only was it a sad occasion because of the funeral, it was also a sad meal with zero points. What a shame!

The food tastes good, the trees mean you can always sit in the shade, and there's something for the kids to play with, so we had a wonderful time here.

The food was okay, but nothing more. Some of the salad was already moldy. The service was inattentive; we waited almost 30 minutes for the menu.

The spaghetti ice cream was from Edeka, just thrown on a plate... the steak was so-so and no one asked if everything was/was okay!!!

Ate and drank deliciously, there were eight of us there and we had a good time. Modern hut ambience. The Kaiserschmarrn in particular was very fluffy and caramelly. The currywurst and schnitzel also looked good. The fries I was allowed to steal were hot and nice and crispy. Friendly service, the food came quickly.

We are happy that locations are still open on Monday. We spontaneously looked for something - close to our hotel - and that's how we came to Alt Süsterfeld. Even at the time of Christmas celebrations - we were greeted very friendly - and were treated to delicious food and drinks. Anyone who enjoys good, rustic food - paired with a touch of modernity - will feel at home. Can only be recommended - value for money is there.

Awesome here! The food is top! We were here for our department's Christmas party, it was tolerated and celebrated that I play the trumpet and I was even treated to an ice cream. I'll order one right away.

Went to this restaurant for coffee this afternoon for a funeral drink. I really liked the location. The boss and cook made a very natural and nice impression on me. I wish the restaurant all the best. If I ever happen to be in the area, the Original Wiener Schnitzel would be my first choice.

Today old Süsterfeld. The ambience has an Austrian touch. The menu is not that big, which is good because I think and taste that everything is fresh. As a starter I had soup with pancakes. It was 😋 and well seasoned. For the main course there was schnitzel Viennese style, which was great. Unfortunately the schnitzel had no waves in the breading. As a greeting from the kitchen there was aioli, which has nothing to do with Austria. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarrn to take away. Unfortunately there were raisins in it because I ordered it without them. Otherwise I was satisfied. The prices are humane. The service was nice and friendly. Oh well, salad was available to pick up yourself at the buffet. The dressings were delicious. Please reserve.

It's delicious, well-made food. Unfortunately there are understaffed for the number of tables accepted, and there is only one person in the kitchen, which is simply not enough on a Sunday with at least 20 reserved tables.

We were in Kassel for 2 days. We discovered the inn by chance. Simply homely, almost romantic. Very tasty food, really nice staff. We are more than satisfied! Also in a nice, quiet location. 5 stars are definitely not enough!

The first impression from the outside shows the need for renovation. The guest rooms themselves are cozy and tidy. The food was really good. The good salad buffet was also appealing. You'll be happy to go there again. The many guests on Sunday evening also speak for this.

Good home cooking with large portions at good prices. The quality is okay, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary. The Kaiserschmarrn was above average. The atmosphere is rustic, an attempt was made to create a Bavarian-Austrian style with little effort. I felt a little reminded of restaurants from the 1980s (even with a self-service salad bar). The service was very friendly and attentive.

I've been here several times, mostly in larger or smaller groups. When the weather is good, we like to sit outside. But what I noticed is that every time the salad buffet is almost empty. Some things are usually not available. It should be checked and refilled more often. Otherwise everything tasted great.

We visited Alt Susterfeld after touring the Hercules Monument and Wilhelmshohe. What a wonderful restaurant! We tried the Cordon bleu, schnitzel, spatzle and bratwurst and all the dishes were delicious. The restaurant has an Austrian ambiance, and the service was fantastic. They also had a wonderful salad bar. Would definitely recommend if your visiting Kassel.

We went to this restaurant for the first time. The service was very friendly and the food was very good. The prices for the main courses were ok for me, but I found the dessert too expensive. Just under €13 for a pancake with a scoop of ice cream. Well, you just don't order it a second time. The only thing that really bothered me was that the tablecloth was full of bread crumbs which we removed ourselves and that's something you should avoid, especially since it wasn't open for an hour yet. All in all, we liked it here and we'll definitely come back.

Celebrated grandma's 80 GB here. Had a separate room. The service was very good, the drinks came very quickly. The food was good and everyone enjoyed it. The beer garden is great, great atmosphere. Would come again.

So I just wanted to eat a little something and decided on the Kaiserschmarrn. I haven't had such good Kaiserschmarrn in a long time. My friends who ate something different were also extremely satisfied 👍🏽

We were there for dinner for the first time yesterday and can only say very big praise and thank you. The atmosphere in the inn is cozy, the beer garden is large and invites you to linger. The quality of the food was excellent. I had an asparagus cream soup and a schnitzel "Alt-Süsterfeld. Both were excellent. The taste, the temperature, everything was really right in my opinion. My wife's cheese spaetzle were of the same quality. They were very good. Of course, you shouldn't forget the very good and friendly service. Simply class. I didn't even know that I could eat so well in the immediate vicinity. If you have something to complain about about the salad buffet, you should consider that this is a salad for the side dishes and not a salad buffet. For me it was perfectly fine. We would definitely like to come back and next time with a dog as this is not a problem at all.

We recommend the schnitzel from Haus Alt Süsterfeld. There's a lot on the plate.

If you like Austrian/German cuisine, this is the place for you! It was our first time here and we were given a very, very warm welcome… The food tasted great and extras were taken into consideration. Philipp and Antonia in service were very nice hosts and big praise goes to Natalie and Matze in the kitchen. Rarely have I had such delicious schnitzel! Thank you very much for the nice evening we had with you… we will definitely be back!

We love spending time in this beer garden! The atmosphere is really welcoming and relaxing, perfect for a cozy evening with friends or family. The drinks are excellent and the food selection is varied and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, which makes the visit even more pleasant. I can only warmly recommend this beer garden!

Everything was great, I had fish (I think it was zander fillet) with potatoes and salad from the buffet. What I didn't like, but I think it was my own mistake because I didn't read carefully enough, was that there were diced ham on the fish. If I had seen this before, I would have ordered without it. But like I said, I probably didn't read it correctly. I don't necessarily count it as a side dish with fish. But otherwise the food was very good. The other three people also enjoyed it very much. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The decor is a bit dated, but that's a matter of taste and certainly won't stop me from eating there again in the near future.

Hier kann man gemütlich sitzen, quatschen, essen und trinken. Das Essen ist gut und auch der Service in Ordnung.

Sehr nette Leute, guter Service und Preise OK. Leider war das Essen bei den meisten von uns maximal mittelmäßig, mehrere Steaks waren kalt, die Portionsgrößen teilweise selbst für die Kinder zu klein. Für das leckere Helle Bier kommen wir gerne wieder, nicht aber zum Essen.

Trotz keiner so guten Erfahrung meiner Bekannten, hat sie mir dennoch dieses Restaurant empfohlen. Ihrer Meinung nach kann es immer mal einen schlechten Tag geben und nicht alles läuft rund. So war es bei ihr. Für mich war das Essen so na jaaa. Es schmeckte, wie ein Schweineschnitzel eben schmeckt. Die Salatbar war etwas abgemagert und für das Auge nicht mehr ganz ansehnlich, aber das, was man noch davon nehmen konnte, machte einen frischen Eindruck und war geschmacklich gut. Die Bedienung war super nett und die Leute aus der Küche ebenfalls. Das Ambiente muss man mögen, andernfalls erinnert es an eine alte Jägerstube. Ist Geschmackssache. Im Großen und Ganzen kann man es mal ausprobieren, aber meine 1.Wahl ist es nicht.
