Ginko Restaurant in Kassel

The two of us ate here tonight. We both need gluten-free food, and I also need lactose-free food. The menu is usually very limited...but here they have a full selection, which we absolutely loved. And all at fair prices. And the service is also excellent, with super friendly staff. Getting the baked banana without desiccated coconut was no problem, even though they usually bake it in the batter. THANK YOU We're just passing through, but if we ever come back to Kassel, we'd love to come back.

It's simply too expensive. 2 nigiris cost €5.50 or €6. A 0.2L soft drink costs €3.20.

One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Their service team is horrible, disrespectful, and disgusting. They don’t even listen to orders and were extremely rude to us. They also don’t explain or clarify the menu. When I asked for details, the waiter told me to leave the table just because I was asking. How rude is that! I asked to speak with the manager, but the waiter refused my request. I am a tourist, and this place is definitely not suitable for tourists.

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to try everything. But the nigiri was exceptionally good, perfectly tempered, and beautifully presented!

We tried Ginko on recommendation during our stay in Kassel. The Japanese restaurant has a beautiful, understated look. The sushi was excellent, and we also enjoyed the soups for starters. Unfortunately, the main course was less than impressive, as the beef was very tough. During the meal, there was no staff nearby to address this directly. We were only able to provide feedback at the end, but it was warmly received – we were offered a free drink as an apology. The noise level in the restaurant was quite loud, which somewhat disrupted our experience, although this isn't directly the restaurant's fault. **Conclusion:** Overall, the food was good, and the restaurant was definitely worth a visit. However, the service could be a bit more attentive. We will definitely give Ginko another chance.

Wow, what can I say? Gingo in Kassel is simply a dream! You don't feel like you're in a restaurant here, but rather like you're with good friends who are treating you to the most delicious dishes. The service is always friendly, attentive, and with a warmth you rarely find. But the absolute highlight is, of course, the food. It's fantastic, authentic, and simply breathtaking! We've tried half the menu during our visits and are thrilled with every single dish. Every single one tastes as if it were served directly in Vietnam. Whether it's the pho, the summer rolls, or the irresistible curries – everything is perfectly seasoned and prepared with love. There's no other way to say it: Once you've been to Gingo, you'll come back again and again and again. It's our absolute favorite place in Kassel and definitely worth five stars!

Overall, a good evening with good food. My companion had the large vegan menu, and I had the "Imperial" sushi ensemble. It also had the baked/fried avocado as a starter. Everything was aesthetically presented, the portion size for sushi was quite substantial, in my opinion, and the fish and other ingredients were fresh. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and you can sit outside even in the summer. The food selection is very large, and you'll always find something to suit your taste, whether it's meat, fish, vegetarian, or vegan. Everything is gluten-free, too. The service was also very attentive.

I must express my disappointment with the positive reviews, as eating the food caused severe stomach cramps and diarrhea, which severely impacted my evening. I would also like to criticize the preparation of dish 41G, particularly the inappropriate addition of salad in a hot sauce.

I cried with joy because, both in person and through a delivery service, I felt like a completely normal person despite having celiac disease. It was delicious, too. Please never stop offering all your food gluten-free. I'd gladly drive many, many kilometers for this again. Thank you!!!

Moop, we accepted a reservation and confirmed a two-hour appointment via email. We arrived 15 minutes late and were told the place would be closing in 35 minutes... I'm so sorry.

The welcome was friendly, and we were shown directly to our table. The menu offers an extensive selection. Communication with the staff was occasionally difficult. But in the end, everything was fine. The food arrived at our tables very appetizingly. Everything tasted very good. We were very satisfied. The prices are just about reasonable.

The ambience is very pleasant and beautiful. The service was very nice and friendly. But first the food - the food was simply fantastic. From starter to dessert, it's beautifully presented and a real treat - you'll have to see for yourself! The prices were absolutely right and I can highly recommend this establishment.

Food that simply makes you happy. The food is really first class and there is a wonderfully good selection of meat and fish dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes. We ate the tofu and it was really a treat. The tofu was crunchy on the outside and super tender on the inside. The peanut sauce was also really great and really impressed me. The way the food was presented was particularly beautiful and made the experience even better. The service was also perfect. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. The ambience on site was also great. It is a nice restaurant and also offers different seating options, e.g. outside or upstairs.

The three of us visited the Ginko restaurant today. Due to my histamine intolerance, I am very selective when choosing restaurants and only choose places that can cater to individual needs. Ginko impressed me in this regard: it was my first time eating there, and my every special request was taken into account with great care. I haven't eaten out so well in a long time. Both indoor and outdoor seating is comfortable and not too crowded. The menu is completely gluten-free, and there are extensive vegan and vegetarian options. I don't necessarily "need" either of these, but I find the food simply delicious. Curries, soups, sushi... the selection is huge. Everything is beautifully presented, and the service is friendly. It's easy to make reservations online (which I personally always find helpful), and they even offer delivery. I almost always eat sushi there—it's not exactly cheap, but I think it's worth it.

This is our family's favorite restaurant. When we want to eat sushi, we immediately think of ginko. We've tried sushi at many other restaurants, but the fish at Ginko is, in our opinion, the freshest and tastiest. In addition to sushi, the restaurant also offers warm dishes, which are also very delicious. What is particularly noteworthy is that it is a 100% gluten-free and lactose-free restaurant & sushi bar - ideal for anyone with special dietary requirements. As a Japanese, I must say it is not authentic Japanese food. The service was not good, the male waiter does not know how to serve the customers and rolled his eyes several times to the customer based on his mood.

I recently visited a sushi bar and was overall very satisfied. The atmosphere was simply great – cozy and stylishly furnished. We had a wonderful time with the family and enjoyed being together. The only small negative was that we had to wait about an hour for our order, but that wasn't a big problem as the environment was so pleasant. Overall we were very satisfied and will probably come back!

This was my second time there. Ate sushi once outside on the terrace with a warm Japanese dish and once inside. The food was perfect both times and the service was very friendly. Inside and only has the volume of a (FaceTime) phone call? very disturbed. Unpleasantly loud noises of talking and screaming could be heard there. This is very uncomfortable for sensitive people. Nonetheless, we will come back.

THE BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT I've ever been to in Germany (and I have been to many). I LOVED the fact they only have gluten free and lactose free options, it makes me feel very safe. The quality of the food is amazing, the variety also (not only the sushi, but also the soups and the Currys). The aesthetics of the dishes: wow!!! It was so beautiful I felt bad eating it (but I'm glad I did!). The attention was super friendly (they even let us take a baby of one of their beautiful plants!!). The environment is welcoming, very nice and smooth decoration, lots of wooden and green. Recommended. Km definitely going back soon next time I'm in Kassel.

You'll find something for everyone on the menu, from vegan to Omni and everything completely gluten-free (suitable for celiac disease). The service was nice and the food can be reactive quickly. It was a pleasure. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the noise level when it was more crowded. Loud conversations have led to louder music.

Manchmal bin ich allein unterwegs, manchmal in einer Gruppe. Das bedeutet, dass wir einen guten Umsatz für das Restaurant generieren. Seit dem Wechsel des Serviceteams ist ein erheblicher Qualitätsverlust im Servicebereich zu verzeichnen, der die bisherige Atmosphäre beeinträchtigt hat. Dies gipfelt darin, dass man, sobald man sieht, dass der Kunde fertig ist (in meinem Fall war der Cappuccino noch halb voll), zum Gehen aufgefordert wird – nach knapp 50 Minuten (10.08.204). Soweit ich weiß, gibt es keinen Vermerk, dass es eine maximale Dauer gibt, die ein Kunde in der Lokalität verweilen darf. Beim Bezahlen habe ich nach dem Verantwortlichen gefragt: Dieser hat sich jedoch entschuldigt, muss aber auch das inkompetente Handeln seines Personals verantworten. Zusammenfassung: Bevor Argumente aus zwei verschiedenen Perspektiven einer Situation herangezogen werden: In der beschriebenen Situation ist kein Vorfall aufgetreten, es gab keine Auseinandersetzung oder ähnliches. Glücklicherweise gibt es andere Lokale mit einer ähnlichen Auswahl an Speisen, auf die man ausweichen kann. Dies werde ich meinerseits tun. Dies ist der einfachste Weg. Als Kunde kann man einiges tolerieren, muss es aber nicht immer tun. Gerne wünsche ich dem Ginkgo auch weiterhin viel Erfolg. Es wäre sehr bedauerlich, wenn das neue Serviceteam dem Erfolg des Gesamtkonzepts im Wege stehen würde.

Since the service team changed, there has been a significant loss of quality in the service area, which has affected the previous atmosphere. This culminates in the fact that as soon as you see that the customer is finished (in my case the cappuccino was still half full), you are asked to leave - after almost 50 minutes (10.08.204). As far as I know, there is no mention of a maximum length of time a customer can stay at the location. When paying, I asked who was responsible: He apologized, but he also has to take responsibility for the incompetent actions of his staff. Summary: Before arguments are used from two different perspectives of a situation: In the situation described, no incident occurred, there was no argument or anything similar. Luckily, there are other places with a similar selection of food that you can try. I will do this for my part. This is the easiest way. As a customer you can tolerate some things, but you don't always have to. I would like to wish Ginkgo continued success. It would be very unfortunate if the new service team stood in the way of the success of the overall concept.
