Unfortunately the 4-5 stars are not understandable. I just wanted to have something for Sunday lunch. Firstly, you are ignored right from the start, no service at the door or to be found inside the restaurant. Or you are simply ignored. After about 5 minutes of waiting and looking/looking for a place (it was neither full nor were there any seats available), 2 other guests (with knowledge) went straight into the kitchen and asked for payment. "I'm still serving," came the sound from the kitchen. They were then allowed to pay. 😉 I continued to be ignored and had now placed myself inside. After the question about the card came, you can guess three times: 'I'll serve first.' There were a maximum of 6-8 people sitting in the restaurant, at least 4 of whom had already eaten. Then I finally got the menu, which I could get personally at the counter upon request and wanted to order a drink straight away. ...'I'll serve the other guests first.' After another 5 minutes no one came and I left after a good 15 minutes total time without any service. Sorry, that's not possible. Then secondly, to describe the Thuringian dumpling as Thuringian mud pampe, in the Swabian dialect, and to praise spaetzle as the highlight of kitchen culture.😄 Shoemaker, stick to your guns!! If you can't make Thuringian dumplings or know that the effort is probably five times as high as making cheap Swabian pastries, I feel sorry for you. Therefore, this conversation with other guests was also the second reason why I left the restaurant. And no, I don't have a personal problem with the operators because I don't even know them, but the first impression spoke volumes. Please let it be! I'll leave it alone and won't go there again.

Auf der Suche nach Thüringer Spezialitäten sind wir auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam geworden. Es war eine sehr kurzfristige Reservierung möglich, dass hat den Ausschlag für unseren Besuch gegeben. Die unaufdringliche Art der Bedienung hat uns sehr gefallen. Die Kombination aus Thüringer und fränkischer Küche war mal etwas ganz besonderes. Der Küchenchef ist Franke und kocht ganz ohne Zusatzstoffe, die man deswegen in der Karte auch vergeblich sucht.

We were guests last weekend with a larger group. The first thing I noticed at the back of the hut was a large, off-leash dog lying in the middle of the room. On the way to the toilet you had to walk past the dog. The owners made no move to take him aside. We had small children with us. Later he got up, went from table to table and sniffed people, who were clearly not happy about it. I think it's ok to allow dogs to be brought along. But if the owners themselves behave in such an ignorant manner, the waitress should ask them to keep the dog on a leash in the area where the dog is being handled, ideally under the table. We ordered simple food. It came quite quickly and tasted okay. We heard a man at the counter asking if he could have a beer outside since the dining room was full. He was denied this in a very unfriendly manner. Likewise, his request to put up a sign outside saying “self-service” went unheeded. We were also criticized after we paid. We should call next time. At the same time she told us that it was otherwise completely empty. A note back: Good service also means being flexible and acting professionally.
