A lovely, quaint inn with efficient service and good food. Parking is difficult, but that's not the Augustiner in Garching's fault.

Excellent service and top quality – absolutely convincing! My visit to the Augustiner in Garching in November 2025 was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. What immediately stood out was the large number of service staff. The entire team was extremely friendly and remarkably attentive. Several times during the meal, they checked to see if everything was alright and if we were enjoying our meal. In a restaurant of this size, this level of personal attention is by no means a given. The food was, as hoped, excellent. The portions were generous, and everything was very well and freshly prepared. The beer, of course, was of the usual high Augustiner quality. Prices are sometimes comparable to Munich, but given the quality of the food and the outstanding service, this is completely justified. A big thank you and much praise to the team – we will definitely be back soon!

There were four of us for dinner on Wednesday evening. We were lucky to get a table. The venison goulash and the wild boar sausages were excellent. The children had roast meat from the kids' menu, which was also very good. Very good value for money! The service was top-notch – very quick, attentive, and friendly. It made us feel welcome as guests. We'd love to come back, but next time we'll make a reservation!

I went there for the first time with friends and it was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent. We were served primarily by Mr. Karwan, who was friendly the entire time we were there and always attentive to fulfilling our orders promptly. Even a special request was taken care of immediately. It was simply a perfect evening and I will gladly recommend the restaurant. 👍👏🏆

Okay, it was the last weekend of Oktoberfest, but without a reservation, it would have been impossible to get a table. Our food was only lukewarm, and we were disappointed. The interior is typically Bavarian, with a nice, traditional atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, but also noticeably stressed. I always find that kind of thing unpleasant. Maybe it's more relaxed on other weekends. The crowd was mixed, i.e., tourists and locals.

It's always great to stop here; the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and relaxed. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends. The beer garden also has a charming feel, is clean, and well-maintained. We'll be back.

We were at the Augustiner in Garching last Saturday before the Bayern Munich game. The food and service were – as always – top-notch, and our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, a really unpleasant scene occurred while paying: A tall waiter with glasses completely lost it after our waitress at the cash register had only lightly nudged him to get to the cash register. He accused her of pushing him and became loud, disrespectful, and insulting in front of all the guests. He made personal and completely inappropriate comments – it was simply embarrassing and extremely unprofessional. It's a shame, because we actually always enjoy coming here. Hopefully, this will be taken seriously internally so something like this doesn't happen again.

Super delicious, super cute, and simply a great place to sit. Very family-friendly offer on Sunday: one free meal for children aged 0-6 per adult.

Very nice Bavarian restaurant with excellent food.

The cheese spaetzle was great. The roast pork was average. The Obatzter (traditional sausage) was good. Unfortunately, with the outside temperature at 13 degrees Celsius, the door was open the entire time we were there, making it very uncomfortable and cold.

We felt very comfortable at the Augustiner in Garching. The food arrived quickly, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall, the value for money was good. The roast pork with cabbage was particularly delicious—a real highlight. Only the coleslaw seemed a bit expensive compared to the beer prices. Nevertheless, we were completely satisfied and would gladly return after enjoying a visit to the Erding Thermal Spa.

Actually, everything here was very good. We ate here for work. Beer prices were fair. Service was very friendly. We felt very comfortable. The reason I'm deducting a star is because I had spare ribs. They were very, very tasty, BUT the portion was too small for me. In total, I had 9 bones (3x3 ribs), while my colleague only had 7. The bedside portions were again very generous. All in all, a very high-level complaint. But I was so looking forward to the spare ribs, and the portion size has stuck with me forever. 4x3 would have been fine... 5x3 would have been a dream. :)

Just 5 minutes from the highway, it has a lovely Bavarian beer garden in the summer and plenty of indoor seating in the winter. Super friendly service, prices in line with those in the Munich area. But very tasty. Great kids' menu.

We've been there twice already, to get ready for FC Bayern Munich's home game. Reservations are recommended on match days, as otherwise, there can be long wait times, especially for groups. Since there were only two of us, it was relatively quick. On warm days, the outdoor seating is recommended. There are also standing tables. The food is delicious, and the staff doesn't seem overwhelmed or stressed, despite the packed place. 👍🏻👌

Highly recommended. Great service. It's been a long time since we've seen a waiter point glasses at guests so the logo is visible. He checked with us repeatedly before, and the drinks were served super quickly, despite the restaurant being packed. The food was well above beer garden standards and absolutely reasonable in price. It's quite okay, but the prices are too high for what you get. It's more of a tourist trap for guests of the research center. The parking situation is really bad, as the on-site parking lot is far too small for the restaurant's capacity, and it's quite difficult to find a parking space outside.

The food is expensive—Wienerschnitzel 29.90, Leberkäse with egg 14.90—but the service was very friendly, and the beer is excellent.

Clean, I say. We made a reservation for the family via OpenTable in advance, and were then warmly welcomed in the beer garden and able to enjoy excellent service throughout our stay. The location is fantastic, and the food was also excellent! 👌 We'll definitely be back soon.

A good restaurant with good beer... Good, down-to-earth food at reasonable prices... Every day there's a lunchtime recommendation at great prices... I had beef broth, pork cordon bleu with cucumber salad (really well-cooked), and an espresso for €16.50. You really can't complain... Fast service is the norm here... Parking is a bit difficult at lunchtime...

I was in Garching for dinner for work, but the price was completely overpriced and not worth twice as much. A medallion pan where the meat was dry and overcooked. Mushrooms that were actually chanterelles 😂😂 and the sauce, unfortunately, had no flavor. The waiter was very friendly and competent 👍

With my friends family had dinner there. Luckily we went there earlier otherwise it would be very full without any empty table for Monday evening even. We were very happy with the food. Very Bayern ;) Prost 🍻
