Ich esse mit meinem Sohn, bin aber sehr enttäuscht. Das Essen wird in Aluminiumbehältern serviert. Wir sind traurig, denn wir gehen in Restaurants und nicht in die Schule.

Eines der ältesten und beliebtesten indischen Restaurants in Coburg. Ganesha ist uns über die Jahre hinweg ein besonderer Ort geworden, und wir haben immer das köstliche indische Essen, die warme Atmosphäre und die freundliche Gastfreundschaft genossen. Ich habe hier auch die Geburtstagsfeiern meiner Kinder organisiert, und das Team hat die Anlässe sehr besonders und unvergesslich gemacht. Das Essen, der Service und die einladende Umgebung machten es zu einem tollen Ort für Familienfeiern. Es ist wunderbar, ein traditionelles indisches Restaurant in Coburg zu haben, das Gäste schon seit so vielen Jahren bewirtet. Ein großartiger Ort, um authentische indische Aromen mit Familie und Freunden zu genießen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Unfassbar lecker, es ist ein Festmahl!

Komme hier gerne hin, wenn ich wieder Lust auf Indisch habe. Sehr gute Qualität und geschmackvoll (bei mir: vegetarische Gerichte wie Kahari Paneer). Zu empfehlen ist in den Sommermonaten auch der sogenannte Biergarten.

Wir waren dort zum Mittagessen, und das wunderschöne Interieur und die warme Atmosphäre zogen uns sofort in ihren Bann. Wir wurden umgehend mit kostenlosem Papad und köstlichen Chutneys begrüßt. Als Hauptgericht bestellten wir Hühnchen-Curry und Tandoori-Hühnchen-Tikka. Zu unserer Überraschung wurde es sowohl mit Reis als auch mit Naan serviert, was eher selten und ein großes Plus ist! Das Tandoori-Hühnchen war superlecker, perfekt gewürzt und wurde mit einem frischen Beilagensalat und extra Soße serviert. Beide Currys waren absolut köstlich – man merkte, dass keine künstlichen Farbstoffe verwendet wurden, sondern nur purer, authentischer Geschmack. Die Bedienung war während unseres gesamten Essens sehr entspannt, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Als krönenden Abschluss unseres Mittagessens bekamen wir sogar noch ein kleines Glas Mango-Lassi aufs Haus. Insgesamt war es ein fantastisches Erlebnis und mit ca. 20 € pro Person ein tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn Sie in Coburg authentisches indisches Essen suchen!

Die großartige Organisation, die Sie gemacht haben, ist wirklich bewundernswert. Sowohl unsere indischen als auch deutschen Gäste haben das Essen und die Atmosphäre sehr geschätzt. Die harte Arbeit Ihres Teams, ihr freundliches Verhalten und die Aufmerksamkeit für jedes kleine Detail haben uns wirklich berührt. Sie haben diesen besonderen Tag noch schöner gemacht. Waren das erste mal dort. Essen wirklich top und eine absolute Geschmacksexplosion. Wie hier mit Gewürzen gespielt wird, ist echt der Hammer. Service sehr kalt und wortkarg. Sonst wirklich einen Besuch wert.

Das essen war sehr gut gewürzt. Der Kellner war so nett, er hat uns schnaps angeboten kostenlos. Wir haben abgelehnt. Er ist nochmal gekommen und hat uns Lasso angeboten, wir haben dann trotzdem schnaps genommen. Sehr nett und essen war gut!

Ich habe Essen bestellt; es kam warm an und wurde freundlich geliefert. Das Essen war extrem lecker, ich würde definitiv wieder hier bestellen. Man kann sogar den Schärfegrad nach persönlichem Geschmack wählen, was ideal für alle ist, die normalerweise Probleme mit der Schärfe indischer Gerichte haben, aber trotzdem nicht auf den Geschmack verzichten möchten.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Es gab eine Vorspeise und Naan aufs Haus. Alle Speisen waren super lecker und das Personal freundlich. Wir kommen wieder!

Es ist immer wieder sehr schön hier und die Mangolassi ist so gut, dass sie es für einen auch in 1 liter Flaschen zum Mitnehmen verpacken.

This was my first time trying Indian food, and I have to say the food was a delight; the taste was simply amazing. The spices in the sauces and the taste of the meat were simply delicious. I can only recommend it to everyone. The service and staff were excellent and very friendly.

I was visiting Coburg from Cologne yesterday, and we ended the evening comfortably at Ganesha. And what can I say? There are countless Indian restaurants in Cologne, but I haven't had such good and authentic Indian food in a long time as I did here in Coburg! The palak paneer was perfectly seasoned and a great portion. The garlic naan was beautifully garlicky, and the dips served with the papadum were delicious! And then there are the gigantic prices! €5.10 for an Aperol!? I don't think I've ever seen that before! Thank you for this wonderful experience and the fantastic service!

Great Indian cuisine, highly recommended

We had tandoori chicken and curry mango duck. Rice was served with it. We ordered a naan with it. A naan, an appetizer, and a mango schnapps were on the house. The food was truly delicious. Both dishes weren't as spicy as the menu suggests, and they weren't spicy either. Spicy, yes. Highly recommended – too bad we were passing through and can't come regularly. Just be careful, they speak Franconian Indian dialect 🤣

After a lovely day looking around Coburg, including a walk up to the castle where Prince Albert was born, were looked for somewhere to grab dinner before travelling back to Nuremburg. We came across Ganesha and given I frequently work in India and our friends had lived in India for many years, we thought we would give it a try. Firstly, we were offered indoor our outdoor seating. Indoors the decor was typical Indian, classy, bright with plenty of bling. We choose outside as it was a warm day. we were shown to a table in the courtyard and boy what a surprise. The walls were brightly painted with Indian characters, temples and animals, what a surprise and what a great atmosphere it created. We skipped starters, but had pickles and poppadom’s, and wow what a great selection of pickles and sauces. Our mains included a couple of Chicken Jalfrezis, a selection of vegetarian dishes as a main and another chicken curry. We have a fab selection of nan breads, which accompanied the dishes perfectly. All in all, a great find, lovely food and tentative staff. Value for money 10 out of 10.

Very tasty food, fair prices, and lots of samples on the house – papadums, naan, and instead of a schnapps at the end, we even got a small lassi. Overall, highly recommended.

My son had a breakdown with his scooter and couldn't drive away. He therefore asked to leave his scooter on a corner for a few days if necessary to organize repairs or collection. Unfortunately, the operator showed no understanding and refused to do so, even in a cheeky tone. We will therefore avoid this restaurant for the whole family in the future. There is now a better “Indian” in Coburg

An experience for all senses. Great ambience!! Suitable for seniors. Employees offered to carry the walker up the entrance steps. (Rollator) & dog friendly (we had called in advance and a table was prepared) The majority of our group were vegan, everything was very nicely cooked, presented and tasted delicious.

Well the Ganesha in Bamberg and Staffelstein now in Coburg. We were warmly welcomed. There was still enough space for us for lunch and we were given a suitable place for 2 with a stroller. Staff super helpful and friendly. The order was taken quickly and drinks and food were on the table quickly. Before the meal there was lentil bread with dips on the house and the food was plentiful and hot. The taste was very good, the fish mango and the tandoori mix platter were great and the breaded mushrooms also tasted delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is very nice, you feel comfortable and at ease. Nice, comfortable chairs and enough space. The selection on the menu is large and there should be something for everyone. At the end we were offered a mango schnapps, as an alternative we drank a delicious mango lassi. All in all a nice restaurant with good food and nice ambience. Price/performance is completely fine, we would be happy to come back. 👍

Good food and good service . Only Indian place in Coburg

We ordered for just under €100 and explicitly said that we needed cutlery. The cutlery was forgotten and after 20 minutes 4 spoons were delivered for 7 dishes ordered, the food was already cold. There were always 4 pieces of chicken in each curry, which doesn't really do justice to the price (16.90).

The Indian restaurant hasn't lost any of its flair after years, everything is as always, so the following is still true. Wonderful Indian restaurant with high prices. The ambience is simple but beautiful. The menu contains dishes of Indian cuisine. The dishes are freshly prepared and take a bit of time, so you should order some of the starters to pass the time. You should also take the Indian drinks that are offered, because they go well with the food. The food tastes delicious and there is subtle Indian music playing in the background. The staff is very nice, even if not everyone understands German properly.

We found a strange object in the food (unfortunately we only noticed it in the mouth 🤮) Visually similar to a tooth....brrr 😱 Chef wanted to speak to the cook, but there was no reaction from the owner. When asked, I was only told that the chef knew nothing. Everything up to the said dish was invoiced. No apology and lack of understanding from the owner about my outraged reaction. Absolutely unbearable.

I recently visited Ganisha Restaurant and I'm sorry to say it was a very disappointing experience. The food was anything but convincing. The dishes were bland and hardly had the typical taste that you would expect from Indian food. The spices didn't seem right and the texture of the food left something to be desired. The service was also subpar. The service was unfriendly and seemed uninterested. We had to wait a long time for our orders, and when the food finally came, it wasn't even really hot. When we tried to voice our concerns, we were met with an indifference that completely ruined our evening. Overall, our visit to Ganisha was a big disappointment and unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. W.F.

Very good food, what I didn't like so much is the communication, the waitress hardly speaks at all and when she does she understands her very badly. Entrepreneurs who become self-employed in Germany must speak the language of the country where they want to live and earn money. We had no idea what to expect, it was our first time eating Indian food, we were immediately lured into the trap, we were served a starter with three sauces and one was hot as hell and we weren't told anything about it, that's not possible. The ambience in the beer garden was great, inside it was too kitschy and colorful for me. We would eat it again because we liked it, except for the spiciness.

We went to this Indian restaurant on an evening, ordered at the same time as the next table. Our plates got mixed, the waiters did not care at which table they deliver foods. The taste was terrible, just fat, not spicy. This is not Indian food. The owners should not it is not only about juste quantity of bad food poorly delivered.

Good Indian food, Palak Paneer was a poem

The food is probably the best Indian I have ever eaten, but the service totally ruins it, the waiters (men) are rude, with an expression on their faces as if they were working for punishment (and not just once, because I've been to this restaurant 7 times and it's the same every time), and the cleanliness of the premises leaves much to be desired, dust on the windowsills, all tables wiped with a dry cloth. But I honestly recommend the food, congratulations to the chef

Tasty and plentiful. Only the rice supply is a little slow. There are three types of dips with a thin crispy flatbread. It remains unclear whether the bowls are refilled fresh every time or whether they move from table to table where everyone spoons and licks them.

The restaurant is very open and has a relatively large number of seats. I found it a bit strange that we were assigned a seat for two people, which was uncomfortable for my taste. Another time, as a couple, you were seated right next to another couple, even though 50% of the tables were still free. The request for another seat was not rejected, but was commented on. The lunch for 7-8 EUR without a drink came on a platter with small compartments for salad, dessert, rice and sauce. The food was okay, although the taste was a bit expected. Unfortunately, the naan bread was completely tasteless and the sweet mango lassi tasted too salty. Card payments are possible, but you cannot tip with a card. Although we were convinced on the first visit, we were disappointed by the food on the second visit.

Authentic Indian food, highly recommended

Order was placed via the website. After receiving a message telling you to call, you were confirmed that the driver was on the way. After 30 minutes the company was contacted again by phone and apparently they had not received an order. Conclusion, not a good experience.

The lunch menu is okay and tastes good, but I think it's a bit too little for a man

Unfortunately our order was forgotten and only arrived after over an hour. We were surprised that everyone who came after us already had their food in front of us. Then a gentleman came who wasn't quite as friendly, he wore glasses and he also cashed in at the end. After almost exactly an hour he asked us what we had ordered, and then the food came after 10 minutes. However, not a word was said about the fact that our order had been forgotten, let alone an apology, which I found quite weak. Unfortunately, we only had less than an hour to eat because they closed at 10 p.m., so dessert was no longer possible. However, not everything was bad, the food was very tasty, chicken was very juicy and the lady who served us at the beginning was very nice, she also explained to us the dips and what they are all called exactly.

Friendly reception, very nice and fast service. Large selection, including vegan and vegetarian dishes. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right, very tasty (and spicy), be careful: "medium hot" can mean very hot here, but this will be pointed out. Attentive staff who often check that everything is going well. Highly recommended if you want something other than roast, pizza or gyros. Go there, try it out and be pleasantly surprised.

Order for pickup more often and the food is really very good. But now the portions have been significantly reduced with new, smaller packaging... of course at the same price...

Danger! The review is from summer 2022, but was not published at the time for reasons that are unclear. Unfortunately, after my visit today, I have to revise my review - from "outstanding" to "what the hell is that?" The two of us arrived at 9:35 p.m. A friendly lady told us there was a beer garden but it closed at 10 p.m. But we wanted to eat in a relaxed manner so we decided to eat inside. We were served quickly and drinks and food came relatively quickly. However, the waiter came at 10:05 p.m. and told us that the restaurant actually closes at 10 p.m. but that we don't have to stress about it now... Huh?! The lady didn't say anything about it and Google also said "open until 11 p.m.". Therefore, I wanted to check the information on their own website. Unfortunately that didn't work because ganesha-coburg.de leads to a casino website... We finished around 10:15 p.m. and wanted to have the rest packed up to take away. I asked to pay by card and was asked to go to the counter. Since there is a portable and cordless card reader (as is common in restaurants), this "inconvenient" procedure is more than puzzling to me. Why can't you pay conveniently at the table?! Anyway, we sat at the front next to the exit and waited for the packed food. After a few minutes I asked about it and the waiter who had served us just before no longer recognized us and asked if we had ordered to be picked up. After some back and forth we managed to make it clear to him what we wanted from him. We then got our food and left the restaurant with a big question mark over our heads... Oh yes, still for dinner. The food was quite good. However, the three sauces for the starters seem to be served several times, which is extremely questionable in this day and age with Corona (as much sauce as there is, it will definitely not be thrown away after every customer, if that is the case, ashes over my head). The vindaloo was very mild and could have been significantly spicier. The naan is top notch. An Indian with good to very good food, but with significant deductions in the B grade. A pity.

The entire visit was really nice, we'll be back. I would particularly like to emphasize that instead of the usual digestive schnapps, there is also an alcohol-free alternative so that children or people who don't want to drink alcohol don't go away empty-handed. The food is ready quickly and the portions are large.

Wer zwischendurch Indisch essen will, für den ist das Ganesha in Coburg eine gute Adresse. Auswahl, Menge und Geschmack sind für meine Ansprüche auf gutem Niveau. Anhand der großen und breiten Gerichtsauawahl ist der Einsatz von Convinienceprodukten sehr wahrscheinlich. Die Räumlichkeiten sind mit indischer Deko geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Betischung und Bestuhlung ist auf möglichst viel Gäste ausgelegt. Das und die Conviniencprodukte schmälern die Beurteilung nur gering. Alles in allem, gerne jederzeit wieder. Denn das Personal und der Service sind überdurchschnittlich gut.
