We come to the Frankfurt area every year for a weekend and deliberately book our accommodation so that we can easily reach the restaurant and eat there every evening. The food, the people, the service – everything is fantastic! Bohemian food just like Grandma used to make.

Czech dishes in a rustic setting. A bit like stepping back in time to the 70s. Unfortunately, we hadn't made a reservation, but the owner went out of her way to find us a table. The food is hearty and straightforward. Everything we ate was delicious. However, I was a little disappointed that a pancake cost €8. That's completely overpriced.

Truly authentic food. Incredibly delicious. The ambiance is perfect, although a bit dated. Recommendation: Szeged Goulash! In summer, there are also outdoor tables.

We were there and the restaurant owner was very friendly. The service from the waitress was very bad. We ordered three main courses and were given food on the table that we didn't order. What we did order we got in pieces. The other things were missing. Then we were brought a starter where the dumplings were missing. We were served very badly. Even though we didn't have enough food on the table, we still enjoyed the rest. The soups were okay, the salads and the croquettes. I hope the bad service doesn't happen again on our next visit.

The good old corner pub, like it used to be

The ambiance is very rustic and, of course, not as hip as many of the other shops on Berger Straße. However, the food is top-notch in terms of both taste and quantity. The value for money is excellent here. The Czech dishes are highly recommended. I've been coming here every now and then for years and have never had a reason to complain.

Despite all the tradition and love for the rustic and old, it ultimately feels too little like a restaurant and too much like a pub. The guys are very friendly and attentive, and the kitchen cooks simply but properly. You get what you order, no frills, no unnecessary add-ons, just honest, proper food with generous portions. Those who focus on the food and portions will be happy; those who want a cozy, contemporary atmosphere should avoid this place.

A cozy, traditional old restaurant with a smoking room. A true piece of Bornheim. The food is decent, but prices have gone up slightly recently, but that's to be expected.

A friend who was already familiar with Gambrinus accompanied me there. The Czech specials were excellent. We had Bohemian dumplings, of course. One with sauerbraten and the other with boiled beef and horseradish sauce. Both were excellent, and the price was completely reasonable. A definite recommendation!

You can eat better here than in Prague. Home-style cooking. Super delicious. Tripe soup, Segedin goulash, Bohemian dumplings are a dream.

We were only there for a quick bite, but the hand cheese and sausage sandwich were rustically presented and delicious. The staff was super attentive and friendly. It's nice that there are still such quaint restaurants in Frankfurt, and this one is especially special. I would come back anytime.

I don't know - I was there recently and have very mixed impressions. The service is very good, fast and friendly. The prices for drinks are rather cheap. I found the food to be ok at best - the schnitzel was rather tough, the salad, including the bowl, was cold from the fridge. The furnishings are completely from the 70s or 80s and look appropriately worn. However, everything is clean, including the toilet.

A quaint, rustic but cozy restaurant in Bornheim. The menu is large, everyone should find something here. The food was really good. Generous portions and the taste/quality was okay too. The draft beer (Kozel) was also enjoyable. The service was also very nice and attentive. The prices are also fair for the year 2025 and a restaurant in the middle of Frankfurt. There is also a bowling alley downstairs. The toilets also seemed clean and reasonable. The only drawback is that unfortunately card payment is NOT possible. So withdraw cash beforehand.

No safe space for BIPOC or queer people. One of the customers used the N-word to talk down to a minority. He attacked the Greens a lot and otherwise just behaved like a squealing porker and neither the bar employee nor the owner commented on it or sent them to the next room. Instead, the bar owner was busy rushing me as a customer that they wouldn't be open late and that I should therefore choose my dish quickly. When my friend told him that it was too loud and that we were taking our food with us, he gave us a half-hearted apology and a poorly packaged meal that ran out after a few seconds. The food itself would have been edible, but after the very bad service experience and the poor packaging of my food, my hunger was long gone and my mood was spoiled by the unbearable atmosphere and the lack of assertiveness of the employees. Thanks but never again.

The food is super delicious, Bohemian cuisine, varied, cooked down to earth, you feel good and are definitely full 😄. The dark beer is a suitable accompaniment to the meal and everything is rounded off by the warm, friendly service, we will be back 😄

Big disappointment. It was my first time there and I ordered boiled beef. For a whopping €17.50 I got three thin slices of beef about 1 cm thick and about 6-7 cm in diameter on a large oblong plate full of horseradish sauce, plus 3 slices of Bohemian dumplings and salad. The taste was good, but not so great that it justified the high price or the small portion. When I mentioned this while paying, the generally overwhelmed and unfriendly waiter said that he couldn't do anything now, that I should have said something straight away and that he would have thought there was more sauce under the sauce (so he must have noticed it himself).
