Nice ambience. Unfortunately, there is a lot of appearance and little reality. Overall it's disappointing because you expect more than you get. Basically, I know such results from one or another southern, patron-run restaurant. Cold drinks served warm, salad was pretty good, pizza (spinach and salmon) unfortunately not at all (except the dough) and the tagliatelle with fresh chanterelles and - for whatever reason (probably to justify the price) - scampi; Tagliatelle "Monte e Mare" were okay, but just okay. Our empty glasses went unnoticed. A pity. Lots of potential. Not very tasteful result

The cozy Italian restaurant in the Bergheimer Straße attracted my attention by its outer decor and charming interior. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. The bread accompanying our antipasti variation and grilled large shrimp (the shrimp were outstanding) wasn't fresh. We were served butter having been unable to find real olive oil to replace the vegetable oil served at the table. Although exceptionally friendly, only the male wait staff were properly dressed; the woman's fingernails were even upsetting. The Pizza we ordered came only after reminding the staff that we were ready for the next course; but the quality of the ingredients thereon (especially the apparently frozen shrimp reflecting "de mare") weren't of a quality matching the price. I found them pricing my gin and tonic separately, Bombay 12 euro, tonic 4.75, was particularly shameful.

Mit 16 Personen zum Abendessen gewesen und sehr zufrieden. Personal mega aufmerksam, schnell noch Antipasti Tellerchen mit allem was das Herz begehrt gezaubert. Alle Essen sind gelobt worden und wir haben quer durch die Karte bestellt. Die schlechten Bewertungen sind nicht nachvollziehbar. Preis und Leistung absolut top. Gerne wieder

An all-round successful evening.

We went to this Italian restaurant 3 days ago for lunch. The restaurant decoration is very nice. We have ordered a pizza Napoletana and a Saltimbocca alla Romana. After a while, the restaurant owner came to check again our order. Because the waiter couldn’t understand what we have ordered (it’s strange, because it’s written on the menu). Finally the food came, they all looked nice, but unfortunately the taste was not authentic Italian.

Appetizers: Carpacho from game fish: It was salmon, a type of fish. Mozzarella di Bufala: There were thickly sliced, tasteless beefsteak tomatoes, no cherry tomatoes and 2 leaves of basil. Main courses: Grilled salmon with Boiled potatoes and asparagus The salmon was not grilled but fried or fried. The boiled potatoes came out of the jar. They were already completely white. There was also a ready-made hollandaise sauce. Sea bass fillet with Mediterranean vegetables and rosemary potatoes: These were small fillets, obviously frozen. Whether it was sea bass is questionable. Plus frozen vegetables and a potato. The criticism of the food was not accepted, the opposite was asserted.

Great Italian food, great atmosphere and excellent service

The food was excellent and so was the wine. The atmosphere inside is very inviting, but outside (on the terrace) it feels very strange. I recommend visiting.

Mediocre food at best. I had the Dorada that was supposedly grilled, but seemed more like fried (probably made on a grill pan with olive oil) with vegetables from which the carrots were semi-cooked and the potatoes had too much rosmary taste. My husband had penne arrabiata, which were made with tomato sauce from the jar (or this is how it looked and tasted like). It's eatable, but I would not go there the second time. Maybe other dishes are better.

One of the best restaurants in Heidelberg

When we asked by phone to reserve a table for two people, we were told, no problem, there is plenty of space. When we arrived an hour later there was still a lot available, but there was only a “cat table” for us, in the back corner near the kitchen exit. We said that wasn't an option for us and only received an arrogant shrug of the shoulders. Have gone. You can probably do that with tourists. And they don't seem to need it there. 👎🏻

Ambience very nice, food okay, nothing special: you don't have a wow effect and you just imagine something different when it comes to a real Italian restaurant. Nevertheless, it was tasty and filling. The friendliness of the staff was okay. Prices good.

What a pity. Such delicious food, in a nice atmosphere, but the service was simply catastrophic.

The pizza was extremely tasty, was served very quickly and I was able to put the pizza together myself apart from the menu. We were served very friendly, the atmosphere was nice and quiet on a Saturday evening.

Food was very tasty, great atmosphere with the high rooms, large windows and very aesthetic photos, service was good, nothing to complain about.

We celebrated my birthday there and were immediately attacked when my friend brought a small cake for me. Pasta dishes were good. Pizzas were more of a ready-made pizza style and taste. After the main course we were immediately urged to eat dessert. Then we said we would like to wait. 10 minutes later (9 a.m.) the waitress came back and said we should eat the cake soon because the kitchen closes at 10 a.m. and the plates have to be washed. When paying, you were pressured to pay in cash instead of with EC. Overall the restaurant was very nice but the service was very unfriendly and the food was nothing special. We're not coming anymore.

This was net to our hotel so was an easy pick. The ambiance and decor are very nice. The food was excellent. The maitre de was very put off that we did not have a reservation despite the hotel being half empty on a Wednesday night. I would say the waitress was a bit eccentric. we enjoyed our meal and would recommend, just don't expect a high level of hospitality.

Food was good but overpriced. They won't get a Michelin star but that is probably also not their aim. Service was fine until the bill arrived. They had automatically added 15 euro for tip/trinkgeld without asking. I would have tipped generously anyhow but felt robbed when 15 euro is added without any prior consent. When asked for an explanation, nobody was able to explain, Moreover, they even seemed offended and we were given the impression that we were unreasonable. As a consequence, unfortunately, we left the place with a bad taste in our mouth. There are definitely better restaurants to visit in Heidelberg.

The internet presence and the reviews of this restaurant gave us great expectations. Our dinner was even more disappointing. In our opinion, the waiters, the quality of the food and the resulting price-performance ratio are poor. The waiter was extremely unfriendly and in a bad mood.

Restaurant is not recommended! 1. Service was non-existent, the staff was inattentive, preferred to play on their cell phones the whole time, no one helped with the cloakroom, to name just one example 2. Price-performance ratio is not right. Except for the ambience, visiting this restaurant was a total failure *Visit January 11, 2024 in the evening*. To our understanding, these were not real Italians who love their restaurant with all their heart and soul.

Beautiful restaurant, service (except for the lady) extremely unfriendly. Tagliolini made from parmesan OK but relatively tasteless €25. Pizza really below average and has more in common with a rest stop pizza. After we didn't finish, we told the already extremely rude waiter that we didn't like the pizza, whereupon he said he had been working here for 7 years and the pizza was very good. Aha.. ok, good, the bill please. No conciliatory word, an espresso on the house or whatever. We can actually be glad that he didn't throw us out. It's a shame about this really extremely beautiful location, but if the employees are unmotivated (drinks were forgotten and they didn't ask if you wanted something else to drink) even a nice restaurant doesn't help. We were looking forward to a lovely evening…But definitely not a recommendation!

Das Beste hier ist die tolle Location. Wirklich schönes Restaurant mit nettem Ambiente. Leider habe ich mich davon täuschen lassen und die Reviews vorher nicht überprüft. Denn das Essen entspricht ganz und gar nicht dem Ambiente. Zuerst wurde das falsche Essen serviert. Um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken, wurde kostenlos ein Salat gereicht, was ich hier als positiv vermerke. Das Lamm war OK. Leider war der Teller kalt und verschmiert. Das Gemüse, na ja. Ein enttäuschendes Erlebnis und ich kann daher Gallo Nero definitiv nicht weiterempfehlen. Zudem sind die Preise für das Gebotene dann schon sehr hoch!

Wir waren mit einer grösseren Gruppe zum Dinner. Das Essen war ok, das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis leider nicht. Ein Essen wurde vergessen, auf Nachfrage brachte man dann leider das falsche Essen. Irgendwann später, als alle anderen fertig waren mit ihrem Essen, wurde dann kommentarlos das fehlende Essen gebracht. Keine Entschuldigung o.ä. Getränkebestellungen mussten mehrfach wiederholt werden. Alles in allem eine Enttäuschung. 3 Sterne für's Essen gibt es jetzt nur weil die Vorspeisen in Ordnung waren.

Food was good. I had Linguini Scampi and it had a very interesting sauce which I found quite tasty. Capriccio was also very good. Ate here because we were staying at NH and this was very convenient but we were happy with the choice. Cost was on par with everything else in this area.

Das italienische Restaurant ist direkter Nachbar vom NH-Hotel; das Essen war lecker; ich habe die Speisenauswahl geändert, es war kein Problem. Am späten Nachmittag/frühen Abend ist es sehr gut besucht.

Wir waren dort zum Essen als wir Heidelberg besucht haben. Wir waren 6 Personen. Ein Teil dieser Gruppe sind Italiener und waren selbst 42 Jahre in der Gastronomie mit einem Italienischen Lokal selbstständig. Das Ambiente ist ansprechend und die Tische schön gedeckt mit Stoffservietten. Die Speisekarte sieht auf den ersten Blick vielversprechend aus. Wenn ein Vorspeisen Teller für 18.00 Euro auf der Karte steht erwartet man doch schon etwas mehr als 2 Scheiben Zucchini, 2 Scheiben Auberginen, etwas Meeresfrüchtesalat, 3 kleine Scheiben Vitello Tonnato mit 3 Kapern und 3 kleine Scheiben Carpaccio und das für diesen Preis. Wo war Käse, Salami, Oliven u.s.w. Die Minestrone ( Gemüsesuppe) bestand aus gefrorenen Suppengemüse das man im Supermarkt fertig kaufen kann. Die kostete 7 Euro. Das restliche Essen (hauptsächlich Pasta) war gut aber den auch dort überteuerten Preis nicht wert. Wie gesagt wir waren 6 Personen und wollten Paarweise bezahlen. Uns wurde dann die Rechnung auf den Tisch gelegt mit der mehr als unhöflichen Aussage. Sie hätten jetzt keine Zeit und zu viel Arbeit um getrennte Rechnungen zu machen. Wir sollten einfach zusammen legen - so wie es aussah war er der Chef. Das Lokal besteht aus ca. 50-60 Plätzen. Es waren 3 Leute im Service tätig und die meisten Gäste hatten bereits gegessen und sie haben keine Zeit 6 Personen Paarweise abzurechnen. Bei uns allen entstand der Eindruck das nicht der Gast hier König ist sondern der "Chef" sich als König sieht. Wir können nur abraten dort sein Geld auszugeben.

Sehr gutes Essen freundlicher Service

Gemütliches Ambiente, gutes Essen, Service ist okay. Wir sind abends in Heidelberg angekommen und wollen nahe am Hotel noch schnell zu Abendessen. Der Service war schnell und Getränke kamen prompt. Allerdings wurden leere Gläser ignoriert und auch sonst wurde man in Ruhe gelassen. Als Vorspeise gab es Vitello tonnato, das Fleisch war rosa, die Thunfischcreme angenehm und die Kapern geschmackvoll. Die linguine aglio olio peperocini mit Scampi (Shrimps) waren auch lecker und es waren ausreichend Shrimps im Gericht. Beim abräumen wird auch nicht gefragt ob man noch etwas möchte, schade eigentlich. Die Preise sind wie von anderen erwähnt gehoben. Außerdem stimmen die Preise auf der Homepage nicht mehr, sind mittlerweile höher.

Super leckeres Essen und top Personal. War ein richtig schöner Abend mit insgesamt 14 Perosnen. Danke

Ambiente und sehr Service sind sehr schön bzw. Gut. Allerdings waren die Gerichte geschmacklich zum Teil etwas fad. Das Ambiente verspricht leider mehr als das Ergebnis auf dem Teller. Empfehlung: das Filet, erst war ich etwas verwundert dass man mich nicht gefragt hat wie ich das Fleisch gerne hätte. Aber es war wirklich auf dem Punkt und sehr zaht. Um ehrlich zu sein war das Essen für uns eine 3/5 aber aufgrund des Fleischs wäre es doch unfair gewesen

Das Essen klingt auf der Karte sehr gut und weckt Erwartungen aber tatsächlich ist qualitativ noch viel Luft nach oben . Der Service ist fast nicht vorhanden .Nicht ein mal sind wir mit 6 Personen gefragt worden ob wir noch etwas trinken möchten , selbst als einer von uns nachfragen musste ob er ein Bier bekommt wurde der Rest nicht gefragt ob es noch etwas sein darf. Bei dem Preisniveau hatte ich wohl fälschlicherweise einen guten Service erwartet bei zeitweise 4 Kellnern tatsächlich kein Zeit - sondern ein Motivationsproblem. Wenn dann noch nicht einmal das Essen überzeugt muss ich sagen - sorry zum ersten und zum letzten Mal.
