Köstlich! Endlich ein griechisches Restaurant mit echten Mezedes. Beim Betreten mag es klein wirken, aber es verfügt über einen wunderschönen, großen, teilweise überdachten Innenhof.

Das Personal war nicht besonders freundlich und lächelnd, bis auf einen jungen Mann. Der Preis ist für die gebotene Qualität zu hoch, und außerdem werden keine Bankkarten akzeptiert.

Wie ein kleiner Ausflug nach Griechenland. Viele Leckereien bestellen ala Tischbuffet und alle können genüsslich gemeisam schlemmen und probieren. Wir waren heute zu zweit... Garantiert nicht unser letzter Besuch. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Griechisches Bier und Frappe... Zusätzliche Erinnerung an Griechenland. Τέλος πάντων, τα λέμε σύντομα. ❤️🇬🇷❤️

Wir waren zu viert dort, saßen im Wintergarten und haben außerordentlich gut gegessen! Zwanglose und nette Atmosphäre. Gerne wieder!

Es fühlt sich an, wie ein ein Trip nach Griechenland 🙂 Der Hof erinnert an eine griechische Taverne. Leckere Zutaten für landestypische schmackhafte Gerichte 🙂 meine Empfehlung 👍

Hier kann man wirklich on Urlaubsstimmung kommen. An der Speisekarte hat mir besonders gefallen, das man alles individuell wählen kann. Die typische griechische Gastfreundschaft lies etwas zu wünschen übrig.

Das Essen ist in Ordnung, aber auch nichts Besonderes, und die Portionen sind für den Preis eher klein. Man kann nur bar bezahlen. Das Personal war allerdings sehr freundlich.

Unser erster Besuch auf Empfehlung von Freunden. Endlich ein Lokal in dem traditionelle, griechische Küche angeboten wird. Auch das Ambiente erinnert an Griechenland. Geschmacklich war es einfach spitze. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und nicht nur einmal.

Lange nicht mehr so gut griechisch außerhalb Griechenlands gegessen. 🇬🇷🇬🇷 Haben fast nur Vorspeisen gehabt, da die Auswahl riesig ist. Gute traditionelle Küche.

Uns schmeckt es dort immer sehr gut. Uns gefällt es, dass man sich aus vielen kalten und warmen Speisen etwas zusammenstellen kann. Die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich.

Super Souvlaki, hinten raus ein netter Wintergarten. Der Service ist schnell und freundlich. Preise sehr fair, gute Auswahl. Fühlt sich an als würde man in einer echten Taverne in Griechenland sitzen.

Von Außen eher unscheinbar wenn man es nicht ansteuert. Das Essen war im gesamten recht lecker und die Karte hatte eine tolle, große Auswahl. Kein klassicher Gyros-Grieche. Die Portionen & Preise waren fair denke ich. Der Service hätte etwas offener sein können und wenn man teilweise noch etwas bestellen wollte, musste man den Service teils suchen.

Das Essen ist lecker, aber nichts besonderes. Es ist extrem laut, wenn es voll ist und die Klamotten riechen extrem nach Essen. Service ist nett, vergisst aber Getränke und ein Gericht. Kann man hingehen, muss es aber nicht.

muss leider meine ursprüngliche Bewertung revidieren. Das Restaurant hat sich leider extrem verschlechtert - schade. Ich komme leider nicht mehr. Ich hoffe, dass sich was ändert und zukünftig wieder mehr auf Qualität geachtet wird. Edit: schön, wie ihr versucht die Rezension zu entfernen… gut, dass ich einen Beweis von meinem Besuch hab. Kümmert euch lieber um besseres Essen im Restaurant, dann bekommt ihr auch so gute Bewertungen und nicht durch miese Tricks!

Sehr leckeres griechisches Essen mit nettem Service

Wir haben 15 Gerichte bestellt und alles schmecken super. Sehr geeignet zu teilen. Leider nur Zahlung mit Bargeld möglich.

Super authentisch, super lecker.

I was here for the first time today, October 10, 2025, and I was thrilled. You definitely need to pre-order, as the air in the front wing can get stuffy. I had the farmer's salad, lemonato (lamb pan-fried with lemon sauce and garlic potatoes). The salad dressing itself was outstanding, consisting not only of oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, but also, I suspect, quality salt with spices (like Cafe de Paris with curry, turmeric, and other spices, or Baharat). The garlic potatoes were also excellent, simmered in oil and seasoned with garlic and fine salt. The lamb was incredibly tender in a wonderful sauce and served with a sprig of rosemary, all served in an earthenware dish. So, if you're tired of Greek fast-food restaurants, head to Gabriel's – only in the evenings after 5:00 PM, make sure you book, and soon on Sundays too. No card payments, and two parking garages nearby.

Last Saturday, we were in the courtyard with eight people in glorious weather. Everyone was able to customize their own dishes, and it was a culinary experience for everyone! Since we're from southern Germany, it's always worth a visit!

Unassuming from the outside, you'll find yourself in a Greek tavern with a cozy, rustic courtyard. You'll feel like you're in Greece. The food is a diverse selection of tapas, something for every taste, all freshly made, beautifully served, and simply delicious! Tip: the toasted bread is super fresh. The staff is very hospitable, you feel at home here. We'll be back!

The atmosphere was good. Some of the staff were attentive, some lackluster. The lamb with lemon sauce was lamb without a hint of lemon. Afelia was almost unseasoned and definitely devoid of coriander seeds. The "sauces" for both dishes consisted mainly of oil and water. The meat had a decent consistency. The ouzo meze was very small and came without ouzo. We only received it after asking for it almost 10 minutes later. In summary: I've never had such bad Greek food. The best was the retsina.

Went there with three people based on good reviews. The atmosphere was okay, but the food wasn't good. Everything was lukewarm, you have to order side dishes separately, and the portions are unfortunately small. The price-performance ratio isn't right at all. Coleslaw only comes with celery, which is a no-go. Two of the three servers were extremely annoyed and not particularly friendly. They didn't even offer an ouzo on the house, no way... there are better Greek restaurants in Aachen.

We enjoy eating here every now and then. There's a wide selection of dishes. It's not your typical gyro place, but rather a menu with many small "tapas" that can be combined perfectly. There are plenty of vegetarian options. Of course, there are also meat and fish dishes. You won't find any gyros here—but there are plenty of typical Greek specialties. In the back of the restaurant, the roof slides open when the weather's nice, so you can eat outside.

I went there with four friends for an important celebration and we left very unsatisfied. The food was ok, but the portions were tiny. The price for octopus was 15.50 which in Greece/Cyprus amounts to a proper portion as well as other things you’d expect - a potato on the side, some bread, some salad etc. But at least it should be a meal, right? What I was brought were 2 little tentacles that would not be enough for a child - and for 15.50! All the portions were like that. We (4 people) paid around 100 euros and we still felt hungry after leaving. Very un-Greek and un-Mediterranean. Also, the chicken which one of us ordered was undercooked at one side. We mentioned this to the waitress. She didn’t ask us ‘where’ it was undercooked or say sorry. The chicken was simply taken away, seemingly microwaved, and returned back. No new portion, no apologies. Last but not least - the concept of ‘meze’ does not apply here. Instead of getting an actual meze, we got a large plate with sauces and some vegetables. I wasn’t sure if we were ‘scammed’ or if there was a genuine misunderstanding. Finally, there were no lemons, and even the bread we were given cost extra (we were asked if we wanted some) and instead of proper pita we got a weird version of Garlic bread. In summary - the food was ok, but there was almost none of it, and for an extreme price. Greek hospitality was absent, as were basic restaurant servicing norms. We came in happy and genuinely left sad.

We were there for the second time yesterday and were very satisfied. The food was delicious, plentiful, and the prices were reasonable. You get a real Greek holiday feeling when you're there. We'll be back 😎

I browsed the website and wanted to download the menu because the restaurant had been recommended to me. But they're just kidding me, because the download link always leads to the homepage, and you don't get a menu – simply dubious.

For us, the best Greek restaurant outside of Greece!!! There's nothing more to say! Everything is great!!!!! We love you!

Nice restaurant – highly recommended: You can order several dishes as a group and then share them. This way you can try a lot of things, and we enjoyed everything.

Unfortunately, it's Greece that hurts: small portions, salty in taste and price, grocery bill second to none, payment in black cash, the definition of a rip-off. Not recommended for foreigners, forbidden for Greeks!

The food was very tasty, only the eggplant paste was quite sweet.. otherwise great, but a lot of ready-made products and we found it a bit expensive for the portion size… and then no card payment, that says a lot

My new favorite restaurant in Aachen. Super friendly, great atmosphere, great food.

We were told, it is a 'secret tip' but I am disappointed. Service very friendly. They are not able to make a Frappe with vanilla ice cream. The food, mediocre, but then again we are used to a lot after 46x Rhodos. Chairs, unbeguem, decor insensitive. So for the "Spiessere inter uns" you can go there gladly. For me it is no longer necessary.

Authentic Greek cuisine, with a great atmosphere and very nice service

We were there for the first time and were a bit skeptical beforehand as to whether the restaurant was also suitable for vegetarians, as Greek restaurants are usually very meat-heavy. Gabriel's Tavern really has a lot of different vegetarian dishes. I can particularly recommend the stuffed mushrooms and the rice-filled grape leaves in tomato ouzo sauce. We'd love to come back.

The food was super delicious, but the service was 0/10. We wanted to reserve a table for 24 people, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible for that many people on a Friday—only during the week. It's incomprehensible, and there's no explanation given. They obviously don't want to make any money. What a shame!

Have always been very satisfied so far. Today, however, we arrived on site after a personal reservation, were shown to the table by the employee who had accepted the reservation, only to be asked 15 minutes later by two employees to free the table because our reservation was supposedly two hours earlier. We called each other while we were making the reservation to arrange the time. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. We then stood on the street with six people on Saturday evening. We then got the last table that had just become available in the fortified blacksmith. We had a great time there. Service and food top. We won't be seen again in Gabriel's tavern. And I won't recommend it anywhere else.

The food was ok, but very salty. Some of the prices are not justified. The staff was ok. Some were nice and others were rather unfriendly. No card payment is possible here, which I find inappropriate given the prices. Wouldn't necessarily go there again.

Five of us ate at Gabriel's Tavern this evening and all 5 of us loved every dish. My girlfriend often flies to Greece on vacation and thinks that the food here is absolutely authentic.

Four of us ate there yesterday. It was delicious. However, not overwhelming. 2 points less because only cash payment is possible. No noticeable notice on the homepage or when making a reservation by telephone. Cashless should be introduced as soon as possible. It's 2025.

Wow! I have never had such a delicious tapas meal in Aachen before. Fair prices, lots of vegetarian options and a cheap Retsina (Greek white wine) that's really fun. I'll be coming more often from now on!

Main courses are typically Greek, although all side dishes must be ordered separately. My food was ok. We sat at the back of the room, which was well occupied. The acoustics are very loud, making it difficult to hear even your immediate neighbors. I found the wicker chairs uncomfortable, especially if you stay a little longer. The staff was nice. However, we had to wait 45 minutes for the food. Unfortunately you can only pay in cash, which is out of the ordinary these days.

Mezedes like in Greece, everything delicious. But anything with lemon tastes extremely good! Also very good Retsina on offer (Kechribari)

Incredibly good food, I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't discover the place earlier.

An insider tip for a long time, it is now very well attended. The food is very tasty, the selection of dishes is huge and so far none of the things we have ordered have disappointed us. We like to come here regularly and enjoy time on the terrace or winter garden. The service is always very good and attentive. Since you order several individual things here, you can easily share the food and get to know so many different things. The desserts are also very tasty and round off the meal well.

If I could, I would even give 0 stars for the service!!! Impossible service, very unfriendly right from the start. When we asked for a nightcap at the end, the waitress replied: FOR WHAT??? Hello???? Is it actually still possible? Food was ok, but not outstanding either. And the prices aren't exactly cheap either. We were really looking forward to this evening because it was our second visit and the first time was really nice, but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed… Would really not recommend this restaurant. Maybe the staff should be properly trained on how to treat guests respectfully.

The food is good but nothing special. Exactly what you would expect...It was actually the most expensive Greek place we visited and at the same time the only one where ouzos always ended up on the bill. Somehow it doesn't really fit together. In other Greeks you eat the same thing cheaper and there is also a small bottle of ouzo. We won't go here anymore.

Great principle of serving the food in tapas form. For me, who always has trouble deciding between 2-3 dishes, this is just great. The atmosphere there is great, the service is friendly and attentive. But the food is the star. You won't find gyros here, which speaks for authentic cuisine. We will come here more often. Absolutely clear recommendation!

Nice restaurant with very typical Greek food, as is mainly known from the islands. The quantities were also original and not adapted to the overflowing wishes in Germany. Terrific

We came here spontaneously and really liked it, especially because there aren't the usual grilled plates with fries, but rather various meze, as well as small meat and fish dishes that you can put together yourself. We were given good advice and treated courteously. We would love to come back when we are in Aachen.

Great terrace in back that really looks and feels like you're in Greece! It can also be covered with a retractable roof in case of inclement weather. Souvlaki brochette is really tasty and tender, the Greek salad was not great.
