A very nice restaurant with fine cuisine and a stunning view of Lake Tegernsee. Of course, both come at a price, but it's still reasonable.

Yes, definitely for a family celebration

The food is tasty, but the selection is really very small. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.) The waitresses are friendly. Except for Mr. Phillip S. His unfriendly manner almost put us off (even though we drove 70-80km). He assigns seats based on our outfits. If you're dressed smartly, you'll get a nice spot in the sun. If you come in casual clothes, you'll have to sit in the back corner and won't be noticed. What a shame!

We had a fantastic evening with truly excellent food at Freihaus Brenner. It's not cheap, but the price is right for what you get. We were all extremely satisfied with all the courses, so much so with the Kaiserschmarren that we had to have another. Among the already exceptionally attentive and friendly service staff, I have to single out Gerd for special mention. You can clearly see that he enjoys his job, which is very rare in this industry these days. In addition, he has incredible expertise. Even though he's a restaurateur himself, we were able to learn a thing or two from him, for example, about "corky wine" (our wine at Freihaus wasn't corked 😉) Thank you for this evening!!

When I talk to my friends about German food culture, we always joke about it because there are few highlights except for a few "old three things". But I was impressed by the appetizers served today. Not only are they delicious, but the presentation is exquisite and pleasing to the eye. I wrote a few words during the break between meals, and I am full of expectations for the main course that follows😍 The restaurant is located halfway up the mountain. When dining on the terrace, you can look around and see the mountains and lakes. It feels worth driving 60 kilometers to dine here🤟

We had dinner at Freihaus Brenner today and were completely thrilled. The ambiance is, as always, beautiful – with a stunning view over Lake Tegernsee and a pleasant, tranquil atmosphere. We would particularly like to highlight our service: Phillip was attentive, friendly, and competent – ​​exactly what you want as a guest. The food was a hit: The black pudding hash brown was superbly seasoned, hearty, and refined at the same time. The venison medallions were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, and the young bull steak cooked on the hot stone was a real highlight – top-quality meat and beautifully served to perfection. An all-round successful visit – we would love to come back again.

We arrived spontaneously without a reservation and, despite the busy restaurant, received a very friendly welcome. We were first seated at the bar and ordered a drink, and then we were quickly assigned a nice table. The service was extremely friendly and competent, and the food and wine were excellent. Great location with a beautiful view of the lake. The atmosphere is just as we'd imagined in a place like this. Very friendly staff. Even the manager not only greets regulars, but also came to our table to ask if everything was to our liking. The food could have been served with one or two more potatoes. The taste was very good, though.

A wonderful location on Lake Tegernsee. It's about a 10-minute walk from Bad Wiessee to the restaurant, but you'll be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views of Lake Tegernsee. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and the food was just what we wanted! Highly recommended; we'll be back. Absolutely fantastic.

Great view of the lake, excellent service. The food is overpriced for the quality and taste offered. For example, a Maybock fillet for €48 would have been very reasonable if everything had been perfect. Here, it was averagely good. The price here seems to be primarily determined by the location and service.

Highly recommended, great location, great atmosphere. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to linger (because I was on duty). I'm sure there will be a mountain bike trip to the Freihaus soon... with a stop for a bite to eat.

Good food at a reasonable price and a beautiful view. Unfortunately, even after calling ahead, there was no vegan main course (asparagus without sauce isn't a dish).

The Freihaus Brenner is a special place on Lake Tegernsee and we heartily recommend it. We got married here and were wonderfully accompanied by Katharina and Max Jäger on our way to the wedding reception. The location (an Alpine pasture) is unique, the service was outstanding, as was the food and the little details, like handwritten place cards, were thought of. Even outside of large celebrations, the Freihaus is always worth a trip, a meal, a coffee, and the view of Lake Tegernsee.

Because: Nothing works here without a reservation - and that's exactly the highlight. No crowds, no hustle and bustle, just a cultivated atmosphere, sophisticated guests and a team that lives and breathes genuine service – without any artificial smiles. The cuisine is upscale, yes. But you don't just pay for the food here, but also for the overall package: panorama, peace, quality. And that makes it fair again. However, if you are speculating that the weather will be bad, you should wait - because inside it is rather dark and not very spectacular. The restaurant lives from the outside, from the view, from the atmosphere. And it’s true – almost suspiciously good.

The service was perfect! The gentleman who served our group of 12 was super friendly, competent and very attentive. The food was very good! The location is great, a great terrace with a view over Lake Tegernsee.

A real highlight! I had the Tataki of Ora salmon with mango, glass noodles, soy and sesame - wonderfully fresh, perfectly balanced and finely balanced in terms of taste. Then the fillet of white halibut with green vegetables, teriyaki sauce, sesame and basmati rice - the fish was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were crunchy, the sauce was a poem. The service was attentive and warm, and the wine recommendations were particularly convincing - competent but pleasantly unobtrusive. Overall, a well-rounded experience in a truly charming inn. The way out of the village on foot? Every step is worth it. I would definitely like to come back. Many thanks to the team!

Freihaus Brenner, fine by the lake, This is where Munich's chic meets. SUVs are standing side by side, the atmosphere above, just the service. The waiter looks like it's a chore a smile? No, that doesn't exist here. But the main thing is champagne, the main thing is the look – You feel really wow at the burner!

I actually wanted to go to the Brenner on Maximilian Str in Munich. I was wondering why the path was so long Always worth a trip when the weather is nice. You can also hike up on foot. The view is beautiful.

Wonderful, we had a delicious meal, down-to-earth, without any fancy airs (rather rare on Tegernsee) and the best roast pork ever. We spontaneously reserved a table for the next day.

An absolute top location – perfect for events! Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting a company event at Freihaus Brenner on Tegernsee, and it was a complete success in every respect! The food was simply fantastic – first class quality, creatively presented and full of flavour. The service was fabulous, always attentive and professional, yet warm. The absolute highlight is the breathtaking view over Lake Tegernsee - a backdrop that makes every event special. There was also an incredible band - John Munich & Friends, who provided musical accompaniment to the evening. If you are looking for a perfect place for special occasions, you have come to the right place. We'll definitely be back!

Value for money for the food is catastrophic. Food average for a Bavarian restaurant, prices very high. Extremely inflexible when it comes to intolerances. Offering a (wheat) semolina pudding as a gluten-free dessert if you have celiac disease is bordering on bodily harm.

Only the view is 5 stars. Everything else is the service (far too loud and intrusive) and the food were a complete disaster. The starter was completely over salted, with way too much oil so you couldn't taste any of the cold fish. Unfortunately, my girlfriend even had to throw up at night after our meal there. The duck was okay, a little dry but nothing special. Definitely the last time we visited the store!!! after the owner's statement, who simply opened the window without asking if it was okay, and we asked him to close it again because our baby was sleeping right in front of it. He won't die from it!!! was his answer All of us at the table were speechless as to how such a thing could even be said. If he reads this now, they should be really ashamed.

The trip to the Freihaus was definitely worth it because everything is just right here. The ambience, the great people who do a great job there and of course the culinary delights with great attention to detail. Located high up a little away from Bad-Wiessee, the restaurant has a great view over Lake Tegernsee. When you stop here you feel like you're in good hands from the first minute to the last and you don't want to leave at all. Anyone who is at Tegernsee should visit this beautiful restaurant and let yourself be pampered. Many thanks to the entire Freihaus staff and we would be happy to come back. Die Lage und das Ambiente sind sehr schön, aber beim Service und der Küche fehlt schon vieles . Gelangweilte, unaufmerksame Kellner die lauwarmes Essen servieren. Der zum Hauptgang bestellte Wein wurde vergessen und konnte erst nach mehrfachen Versuchen geordert werden. Die weit überzogenen Preis sind der Qualität des Essens bei weitem nicht gerecht geworden. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hier eklatant schlecht.

A fantastic service, the Schöpf, the boss very polite and friendly as well as the service staff. The food was very nice and well prepared, tasted great! The lamb's lettuce (the starter) was a dream! The Black Forest cherry in a glass and the crème brûlée as dessert. Also just great. I taste like more 😃🥰 But anyone who knows crustaceans might be a little disappointed 😃 It is a very nice, located restaurant with a fantastic view of Lake Tegernsee. Beautiful in winter and summer. Had a meal for two as part of the crustacean weeks. We were warmly greeted at the entrance, stripped of our clothes and taken to our reserved table. The waiter was very friendly and the food was to die for!! We would be happy to come back. The nice chat with the innkeepers rounded off the evening.

Kommen weit über 10 Jahre hinauf in das Freihaus, mal im Sommer, stets zu den Krustentierwochen. Ambiente, Lage, Personal stets lobenswert. Heuer waren die Trüffelnudeln ohne Geschmack, die asiatische Suppe ebenso. Die Krustentierplatte auch schon mal besser zubereitet, die Langusten zu Tode gegrillt. Schade, denn der Preis steigt zwar einigermaßen angemessen, die Quantität und Qualität halten nicht Schritt. Schade.

Beer garden with a view is a dream. Very competent, fast and unobtrusive service. Prices are high and portions could be a little larger, but you know that beforehand when you go to Freihaus Brenner.

One of our absolute favorite restaurants. Very nice location with panoramic views of the lake and mountains. Varied menu, especially the crustaceans in November are recommended. Very friendly owners who always look after the well-being of their guests. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

The location with a view of Lake Tegernsee is fantastic. Unfortunately the service on 9/5/24 was not: Despite a table reservation, an absolutely unfriendly reception from a blonde, middle-aged lady. Placement on the terrace Drizzling rain - without bringing a parasol. Only after repeated requests was the table set. Roast pork was "off", and that on a Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Bavaria... a "bravo" for logistics. Table reservation in a very nice room on September 8th, 2024. Ordered open red wine is delivered to the neighboring table; After 10 minutes the service notices the mistake and puts the glasses on our table...a hygienic no go. This time roast pork was available; the quality of the potato dumplings However, they are on the level of Pfanni dumplings, if they aren't exactly those... Chef or owner only makes honors at selected tables, some guests are apparently a little more equal, demand with the gentleman regarding dumplings remains inconclusive. The absolute bright spot on both dates was a middle-aged waiter called Günter, who always tried to use charm and wit to defuse bankruptcies. Therefore: One star for the view and the room and a shining star for Günter...

I have been able to spend a day at Freihaus Brenner several times as a wedding photographer. Always great service, the location is of course unique, a variety of options. Warm cooperation, great team, always close to the guests.

Mixed Feelings: Dinner was terrific. The roast pork was by far the best I've ever eaten. There was something for everyone in terms of price. The Kaiserschmarren was also damn good. Everyone was very happy and the service was perfect! The next day we (10 people!) wanted to stop for a cake after our hike and were rudely brushed off by the waiter. That was really a slap in the face. We then canceled our reservation for Friday.

We were there for dinner, at a private celebration with our peanut and hazelnut allergy sufferer, who would also have a life-threatening reaction. After consultation with the kitchen, it really worked out and we were able to have a relaxed meal. For us, it was the first time that a kitchen made this possible and that consultation with the chef was possible. We even found a dessert that worked. Thank you very much for this, our son was very happy! The service was also informed, everything went really well!
