I ordered fries and they were absolutely delicious! Crispy, well-seasoned, and plenty of mayonnaise/ketchup—a true miracle in this day and age...🤩

Great team, no matter what time of day. We were there two years ago and were immediately recognized. The food and drinks were all excellent. We'll be coming back again and again. And we'll eat at Mutter's next door.

The Freibeuter on the Landungsbrücken is a real insider tip: a young, cool team, a super relaxed atmosphere, and arguably the best chicken wings in the area. The fries are perfectly crispy – just the way they should be. Perfect for a quick, delicious port stop with a view of the water.

Biggest disappointment. Fish from a giant plastic tub from the supermarket, a leaf of lettuce and a slice of onion on a dusty roll... only tastes good when it's clean.

The fries were the best I've had in a long time, if not the best. Full marks for that alone. The rest of the food was good, but nothing exceptional. Very friendly service. After the meal, I went back to the guys and asked them if they wanted some feedback. They were very friendly and listened to everything. The chicken wings were still too cold on the bone. They apologized for that. They were obviously pleased with the review of the fries. If I'm ever in Hamburg again, I'll stop by again to check if the fries can maintain their quality 😉

Typical Landungsbrücken: This is what a fish sandwich should taste like, while you can people-watch. And the restrooms are very clean.

Authentic and friendly service. Even just before closing time, the food was still pleasant. The food was fresh, generous, and the fries were the best I've had in a long time. Excellent value for money. The only thing was that the tables were very sticky.

The currywurst was greasy, the sauce tasted awful, and the fries were hard… having been fried at least twice. The seating was dirty.

I can only rate the fish sandwich; the other dishes seem to be okay. The fish sandwich (matjes) was unfortunately bone dry, and there was relatively little fish for such a large, dry sandwich. I also find two small onion rings cheeky; I briefly considered asking if they could at least add a few more onions, but it wasn't worth begging for. They also had veggie fish, maybe I should have tried that. And the cappuccino, unfortunately, didn't taste good at all; it was a bit watery. The coffee machine did manage to create a solid milk foam, though; the foam stood up to wind and weather :D I rarely complain about food and like to try new places, but here I was simply disappointed because a fish sandwich is always a little treat, something I treat myself to when I'm traveling in the north, and I'm always really looking forward to it and am used to something different. When things like this happen, I always wonder if the owner of the fish sandwiches himself would say, "Yeah, cool, you can sell them like that, they taste good." What a pity.

My regular spot in Hamburg! Whenever I'm here, I sit at the Freibeuter. The fries are world-class, the service is very friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting. I'll be back again and again! 💚

If you think of it as a more upscale snack bar, with cheerful, friendly staff, a delicious meal, and a great view, then you won't be disappointed. Sure, it's not a restaurant, but you're in the middle of the action, there's plenty to see, and it's still better than many other options right on the piers. The food was always freshly prepared. We've been there several times and we're very satisfied.

We tried the veggie backfish. The staff was very honest right away and told us that the "fish" is prepared in the same fryer as the classic fish. This wasn't a problem for us, and we were happy to be offered the fish-free alternative.

The food was horrible. We ordered fish and chips. We waited 30 minutes, the staff ate with their bare hands in front of us, didn't wash their hands, and then they still prepared the food. The only portion was drenched in oil, and it made me sick immediately. The tartar sauce came from a tube, and the fish was dry. Unfriendly staff.

The staff was unfriendly, they ate behind the counter and were on their phones without washing their hands. The portion of fish and chips consisted of five small frozen nuggets from a supermarket bag, and the tartar sauce came from a cheap, rubbish container. For 7.9 a portion, it's just plain rude. The atmosphere was quite nice considering the view. Not recommended; go to one of the other shops next door.

Yes, the staff didn't drink vodka and they weren't rude either. On the contrary, very friendly. There were four of us here and we all enjoyed it very much. If you don't always want to eat just fish, here is a good substitute. Like everywhere else on the Landungsbrücken, the view is very beautiful. You can see the harbor, the landing stages and also the Elbphilharmonie and much more...

Fries were good! However, unfriendly staff who prefer to drink their vodka while working! Always take small sips into their paper cups, apparently they need this. It's a shame that doesn't create a good impression

Fish sandwiches are just that—just a piece of fish in a sandwich. No salad, remoulade, or anything else. Unloved and overpriced. Everything else is frozen food from the deep fryer. Anyone who asks for a little more remoulade will be asked to pay more. This barely meets the minimum requirements for a food item. Seats are scarce, and it seems they aren't even cleaned. Tourist rip-off par excellence

What could be better than a perfectly seasoned currywurst with a heavenly sauce, accompanied by an ice-cold, freshly tapped beer? Exactly – nothing! The taste is a masterpiece, the sausage is nice and crunchy, the sauce is spicy with the perfect spiciness, and the beer rounds the whole thing off perfectly. A must for every connoisseur! I'll definitely come back - and bring friends with me! Cheers!

The porky, pulled pork on fries with BBQ sauce and coleslaw is my favorite. I can only highly recommend it. During the cold season they also offer red and white mulled wine. When you are at the Landungsbrücken you just have to take a look

The sausage is juicy, nice and crispy on the outside, and the curry sauce impresses with a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness. The freshly prepared fries are also crispy, soft on the inside and generously portioned. The staff is friendly and works quickly, even when there is a lot of traffic. Added to this is the unbeatable atmosphere: with a view of the Elbe and the ships passing by, the snack becomes a real experience. ⭐ Conclusion: Fresh, tasty and in the best location – a culinary port hit!

Very good food. I really liked the vegetarian Back fish. The location is of course great and the price considerate. Note: The vegetarian Back fish is fried in the same oil as the other fish for the people that mind that. The service was ok, but kind of rude, based on our one visit.

We were there early, just before 12. Fries and fish & chips are both hot, greasy and unhealthy, what more could you want ;) Of course the fries are salty, spiced and crossy, but I prefer that a thousand times over the plain outdoor pool fries, that taste like nothing. Good service at the exit. Prices are absolutely ok for the location. There are some tables for sitting outside.

The fried fish in the roll tasted very good even if there was a lot of tartar sauce on it. The service was also good. While one of the two took the order, the other started preparing it. Both were also very friendly and nice.

The fried fish roll was hot and tasted good. Fried fish very crispy. But nothing special. The standard fried fish that you can get everywhere there. I've eaten much better ones. Service was ok but could be a bit friendlier.

For me it was a complete disgrace, the day before I got a currywurst with whole rolls and the next day I got half of it without a discount!!! Something like that is not at all intended to attract tourists.

I've never eaten such miserable fish. After the first bite I had to stop. When I asked for my money back, this was only possible after discussions. I showed the seller the clearly bad food, it was obvious. They became rude and were reluctant to give me my money back.

Had dinner here with my family at the weekend. Price performance would be ok if the portion was appropriate.... My family had currywurst fries and I had the pork plate + drinks... Taste was top notch... unfortunately they saved on the fries... if I pay a good 35 euros, then I also expect that you get the portion accordingly. It felt like it was just a small scoop of fries. Otherwise everything is satisfactory. Nice view over the harbor etc

Today we decided to go for a walk along the pier and treat ourselves to a lunch at Freibeuter. Sadly they didn’t have any Schnitzel left, but I will forgive them this time 😅 the chilli cheese fries are epic and the Currywurst with Pommes is also pretty great! Will gladly come back when they have Schnitzel again!

I think these were the best fries I've had in a long time. Mulled wine was really tasty and at a great price, with a shot of €4.90. Another really good idea, pea soup with bockwurst, is rarely available in tourist hotspots!! In my opinion it's definitely worth it 👍

Currywurst very good and totally crispy fries! Ambience like everywhere else on the jetty, loud, windy and exhaust fumes in the air...

It's going ok! Service was very friendly but: The fried fish is extremely cheap frozen goods. It also spends quite a long time in the deep fryer. Remoulade is also the “good” cheap one from the big tube. The view was nice, the Astra was cold so it was still enough for 3 stars.

At our time (Saturday), the rolls were more like dog toys (tough as rubber). The fried fish died in the deep fryer at least three times. The fish nuggets were the absolute, as Mrs. Geißen always says, the absolute “burner”!!! And that literally! The crust... was so "crusty" that the thing crumbled when you poked a chip fork into it. The “nuggets” were well past the frying peak! The staff, on the other hand, is very friendly and humorous! What I found very amusing is that the privateer does merchandising. With the food on offer it takes on more of an ironic and sarcastic character.

Knusperschnitzel mit Pommes bestellt. Das Schnitzel war so klein, so etwas habe ich selbst auf einem Kinderteller noch nicht gesehen. Zubereitet wird es wie folgt: aus dem Schrank nehmen 3 Minuten in die Fritteuse unter die Pommes werfen und zack fertig. An der Kasse chillt die Mayo zusammen mit dem Ketchup den ganzen Tag in der prallen Sonne bei 30 Grad. Sieht man aber nur, wenn man nach 10 Minuten mal bedient wird, gesprochen wird auf jeden Fall nicht wirklich. Die Currywurst war so schlecht geschnitten, dass selbst für einen Hund Aspirationsgefahr bei so großen Brocken besteht. Die Pommes waren Geschmacklich inordnung, deshalb 2 Sterne. Ambiente mit Ausblick auf die Elbphilharmonie und die Elbe ganz nice, ist halt ein Imbiss.

TOP! Sehr sehr freundliche Bedingungen. Super Stimmung. Die Pommes waren gut gesalzen und gewürzt und die Preise sind sehr gut. Wir haben sogar ein Geburtstagsständchen bekommen 🥳🤗.

Waren mit den Kindern vor Ort. Mitarbeiter 2 personen sehr nett,kinderfreundlich,lächelnde Mitarbeiter. Haben uns Pommes bestellt alles Ok. Meine kleine Tochter wollte unbedingt Capri Sonne die sie leider nicht zum Verkauf anboten. Die nette und freundliche Mitarbeiterin hatte eins Für sich selber gekauft und gab uns ihres und das nenne ich wirklich toll weiter so ❤️👍
