New owner, excellent food, friendly service! Everything was perfect! We'd love to come back!

New owner: Everything done right. I've had the most delicious fried potatoes here in years! I had the trio meat plate and was surprised by the excellent quality. All the ingredients were fresh. The salad was also recommended. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. One server simply walked away while we were ordering, but since it's a family business, you have to take the "black sheep" with you 😆 All in all, a 100% recommendation! Give it a try, reservations recommended. Mmmm, it was delicious and wholesome!

We were at Franzuse Hüske on August 30, 2025, under new management. It was great, and the restaurant is highly recommended. The food is very varied and of absolutely upper-middle-range quality, at very reasonable prices. Of course, we couldn't try everything. However: The roast suckling pig with a crust was characterized by a great flavor and a hard-to-achieve, easily edible, crispy, yet "tender" crust. The lamb was sensationally tender, aromatic, and tasty. My house-smoked and grilled Duroc fillet was a special experience. Incidentally, they smoke it themselves at their other restaurant in Kevelaer. The onion soup, topped with cheese and served with smoked and toasted croutons, was very harmonious and aromatic without being salty. A dessert we ordered, a crème brûlée, was also a culinary delight without being too sweet. There's still room for improvement: The wait staff could be a bit more attentive. But that will definitely be improved and is more of a symbolic deduction. The chef explained that they only have about 8 square meters of space in the kitchen and that this is a real challenge, given the dishes they offer and the potential number of guests. Considering this, any longer wait times are put into perspective, although we didn't experience any during our visit. All in all, it seems like they put their heart and soul into it. The cuisine is a real asset to the place and diverse, deviating from the usual standard. The prices aren't cheap, but absolutely reasonable for the quality you get—in fact, they're quite reasonable for the price. Thumbs up! Give it a try ❤️

The food was good, and the service was attentive and friendly. The two young men put a lot of effort into the food, and with a little patience, it worked. The smoked filet was delicious, and the salad included bell peppers—a real rarity. All in all, a successful evening.

Only partially: smoked pork with fried potatoes at a friend's house was great - beef schnitzel was absolutely disappointing! The sauce and onions didn't live up to the menu description. The small appetizer platter was good, but without bread. The bread with three dips was really just a couple of half-baguette slices. A shame! :-(

We ate there yesterday for the first time under new management and were very disappointed. The schnitzel plate was poorly presented. You could count the fries and I ordered more (see photo), the sauce had already soaked into the schnitzel. Unfortunately the fries were too greasy. The ladies behind us were also discussing the fries negatively. At 17.80 euros they were too expensive and you had to pay extra for the side salad. With the steak they didn't ask how you wanted it. You asked for medium and it got done. Also too small for the price. The staff couldn't smile and were very emotionless. It's a shame that you take home such a bad impression the first time.

It was OK, but nothing more. Service was very disorganized. Let's chalk it up to "freshly opened."

The menu is extensive, with something for everyone. Mussels, game...everything delicious.

Durch die nette Angestellte des Freilichtmuseums auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam gemacht worden. Kurz telefoniert und wir konnten mit 6 Personen kommen. Der Service ist super und das Essen echt spitze. Ein paar von uns hatten Burger mit veganen Patty, einer ein Schnitzel und ich den Lachs mit Reibekuchen. Wir waren alle sehr begeistert von den Gerichten. Eine echte Empfehlung wenn man mal in der Gegend ist.

Immer einen Besuch wert. Sehr sehr leckeres Essen, super freundliches Personal und tolle Ambiente. Wärmstens zu empfehlen.

Tolles Restaurant. Nettes Personal Gutes Essen mit ausreichenden Portionen zu einem fairen Preis. Toiletten waren sehr sauber.

Für mich sehr gute Küche, im Sommer sitzen wir auch gerne gemütlich im Biergarten.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal dort essen und ich muss sagen wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Personal und mit dem Essen. Das Schnitzel dad ich bestellt hatte war auf dem Punkt und dazu dann noch 2 Beilagen. Meine Freundin hatte einen Gemüseburger und der war auch echt super belegt und echt groß. Zuerst einmal muss ich sagen das, das Personal super freundlich und sehr komunikativ ist. Das Essen ist einfach nur klasse, es ist super lecker. Alles ist sehr sauber. Natürlich kann man auch Essen zum mitnehmen bestellen. Preise sind sehr human und wie ich finde, auch sehr günstig. Immer wieder gerne und ich kann nur sagen, Guten Appetit.

Unter den Möglichkeiten die die Umgebung bietet ein schönes Restaurant mit guten Essen. Das Essen ist kein Gourmet 5* essen jedoch für den Preis wirklich in Ordnung und hat uns immer gut geschmeckt. An sich auch für eine Feier zu empfehlen ist es schon, dann sollte aber vorher reserviert werden da nicht allzu viele Plätze vorhanden sind. Den Stern Abzug gibt es meiner Meinung nach für die Lautstärke und teilweise für den Service. Es war immer schon relativ laut im Restaurant, ob der Akustik des Gebäudes oder den Personen geschuldet kann ich schlecht beurteilen, wir waren allerdings mehrfach dort. Abgesehen davon fanden wir es immer etwas stickig im Restaurant, da selten Mal ein Fenster zum lüften auf war. Dazu sagen muss ich aber dass das unsere Erfahrungen sind und das nicht bedeutet das in dem Restaurant IMMER diese Bedingungen sind.
