Fondette in Berlin

Does the place still exist?? Impossible tel find it....

Very central and comfortable, the staff is friendly and always attentive, with a big smile. The place is nice and warm. I liked it. I hope to return. Greetings from Chile.

We had reserved a table and had it confirmed. The day before we even received an email asking whether the reservation would remain the same. Today we went with great anticipation to celebrate our anniversary and were told that the fondette has been closed for about 2 weeks. It's a shame and we're also a bit disappointed.

High prices (which we were prepared to pay for good food), the cheese fondue we got was so little, that we left hungry. That wasn‘t the worst - I told the first waitress, that it was too little (for the price of 44€!!), she apologized and walked away, we then told another waitress that we were left hungry and would leave to get some food somewhere else - she also just nodded and said, that we had at least gotten a nice ‚cheese appetizer’. How does this place even exist with such bad customer service?

Wir (2 Paare) waren voller Vorfreude auf das Restaurant. Leider wurden wir ein wenig enttäuscht. Wir waren auf der oberen Etage und vom Service war leider aufgrund von vermeintlicher Überlastung nicht viel zu sehen. Zumal es die Kellnerin und dann auch noch sagte, das unten einfach voll sei. Wir hatten das Käsefondue Original und Raclette. Zusätzlich wollten wir zum Raclette Rinderfilet bestellen, worauf hin wir an einem Freitagabend um 19:00 Uhr erfahren mussten, dass es erst zu prüfen ist, ob noch etwas vorrätig sei. Das verwunderte etwas. Von der Dicke und Geschmack des Raclette Käse waren wir enttäuscht. Da hatten wir schon oftmals viel besseren Käse genießen dürfen. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend, trotz des eher mangelhaften Service. Unsere Vermutung ist, dass das Lokal doch eher von den vielen Touristen in dieser Gegend besucht wird. Das Angebot an Wein ist sehr gut und auch preislich sehr fair. Alles in allem bleibt es dabei: Mittelklasse mit viel Potenzial nach oben.

A lovely quirky restaurant with friendly staff and amazing fondue. The atmosphere was warm and intimate and service excellent.

Both fondue and raclette are almost as good as in Switzerland, and Viognier La Baume wine suits these cheeses very well. Additionally, the side dishes that come with it, such as potatoes and pickles, are also of very high quality. I definitely recommend it.

This place is really nice, Alpin style! But the service for a coffee was really bad, the choice was really limited and the hot chocolate was not good (was it with water ???)

Pas une fondue suisse! Le fromage de la fondue est indéterminé ! Pas bon et extrêmement cher, attention à l’insigne trompeur à l’entrée du restaurant, 22€/personne et non 22€ LA fondue

My wife and I popped into this charming little place whilst being caught in a snow storm whilst walking around Berlin. We found the food to be tasty and well priced with a decent drinks selection. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English as regrettably I speak no German. Whilst outside I noticed that they have themed table arrangements with one table being inside a antique ski lift, unfortunately due to weather this was not being used. Over all I would recommend this place for those wanting a few drinks and light eats to relax from the tourist trail.

En primer lugar, la calidad de las fondues es buena, tienen buen sabor y las raciones son adecuadas. Desafortunadamente, eso es principalmente con los aspectos positivos! Las fondues llegaron a la mesa no lo suficientemente calientes, lo que les dio una textura extraña y los recauditos no fueron lo suficientemente fuertes como para calentar la mezcla de queso mientras estaban sobre la mesa. Tuvimos que devolver uno a la cocina para recalentarlo, lo cual se hizo rápidamente. Pedimos una botella de champán y se sirvió en copas de vino: la camarera admitió inocentemente que no tienen copas de champán. Obviamente, ella también tenía poca experiencia en abrir tales botellas, ya que se derramó medio vaso cuando la abrió. La ensalada para principiantes fue decepcionante con un aderezo blando que se usó en dosis homeopáticas. El espacio para sentarse en el piso de arriba es estrecho y largo, no muy agradable para quienes miran la pared durante toda la noche; Las mesas de abajo son oscuras y deprimentes. ¡Teniendo en cuenta lo fácil que es hacer una buena fondue de queso, este lugar claramente tiene mucho que aprender y mejorar para que valga la pena la factura de la noche!

Meiner Meinung nach...sehr nette Bedienung...und die Ambiente selbst..hat mir sehr gut gefallen😊 jedem zu empfehlen der gerne in Ruhe sein Abendessen genießen möchte in einem guten Restaurant 👌👌♨️

Sehr zentral und schön gelegen hat das Fondette mich mit dem Ambiente, ebenso wie mit dem erstklssigen Essen und der angenehmen Atmosphäre überzeugt! Das Personal war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Ich komme gerne und häufig wieder!

Wow. Just left fondette about an hour or so ago and can't get the cheesy smile of our faces (sorry) really lovely place. We had the fondue and racellete as a sharer for two. More than enough for even the healthiest of appetites. Plenty of good choice beverages as well. Special shout out to our waiter Micheal who was great. Highly recommended

Wahnsinnig herziges Weihnachts-Dorf Feeling. Mann kann sogar in den Gondeln essen. Das Fondue mit Champagner war perfekt! Und als Drink kann ich den Apple Smule empfehlen.

Ein Stück Schweiz in Berlin, endlich =) Wir haben ein wunderbares Weihnachtsfest genossen, mit super feinem Raclette und Fondue. Die Gastgeber Ylli und Simi haben uns verwöhnt, danke!!!

I've had the raclette and the fondue and both are so delicious you end up eating until you can't eat anymore.. and then eating some more. The place is really cute too, you feel so cozy holed up with nice warm food, the staff are great and make you laugh.. highly recommended escape from winter!

Coming from France, finally find very good cheese is very nice! Great time in this restaurant! I would come here again!

If you love cheese and good drinks it's definitely the place for you. I was here with a group of friends. We tried both fondue and raclette they were really delicious. They also have a great selection of drinks that go well with the cheese, my personal favorite on was their riesling. Going back after Christmas for sure :)

Bestes Fondue der Stadt! Man kommt sofort in Weihnachtsstimmung dank der liebevollen Deko. Die Gastgeber waren super herzlich und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Komme definitiv wieder vorbei!

Wir haben zum 18. Geburtstag unserer Kinder hier gegessen, weil wir mal was anderes essen wollten. Diese Erwartung wurde zu 100 Prozent erfüllt. Wir haben 2 mal Fondue und 2 mal Raclette bestellt plus zusätzlich Kartoffeln und sind davon mehr als satt geworden und es hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Daher bin ich auch gerne bereit den sicher nicht ganz günstigen Preis zu zahlen, denn hier wurde eine Marktlücke im Berliner Restaurant Dschungel gefunden. Einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die aus meiner Sicht absolut nicht angemessenen Getränke Preise und das Dessert, welches gut war, aber eben auch nicht mehr. Da erwarte ich bei 6 Euro einfach mehr. Dennoch eine absolute Empfehlung, wenn man in Berlin mal anders Essen gehen will.

Die guten Rezensionen kann ich in keinster Weise bestätigen. Wir hatten einen Tisch gebucht für unsere Weihnachtsfeier mit einer größeren Gruppe und haben eine Menge Geld dagelassen. Beim Raclette welches für eine Person 22 Euro kostet, bekommt man jeweils ein kleines Glas Gurken ca. 6 Stück, Silberzwiebeln, ein mini Glas Feigenmarmelade und ein Glas Birnen, die man sich dann aber zu zweit teilen muss. Wenn man sagt, dass das zu wenig ist wird man unfreundlich angemahnt, das man sich das zu teilen hätte. Einzig die Kartoffeln und der Käse waren ausreichend. Ein Glas Wein für 0,1 Liter kostet fast 4 Euro. Die Käse- und Wurstplatte für zwei ist ein kleines Brett mit ca. 5 Scheiben Salami, Schinken und ein paar Stückchen Käse für fast 20 Euro. Zudem mussten wir unseren Tisch nach drei Stunden Stunden räumen , was uns vorher keiner gesagt hat und wir hatten den Tisch mindestens zwei Wochen vorher reserviert. Ausgetrunken hatten wir auch noch nicht, mussten wir dann im stehen machen. Wirklich tolles, neues Berlin!! Das braucht echt keiner.

Ich war beruflich unterwegs in Berlin als ich per Zufall das Lokal entdeckte. Was für ein Scheunenfund! Mehr kann man da nicht dazu sagen. Ich als Eidgenosse ging mit ehrlichgesagt relativ geringen Erwartungen in das Fondue/Raclette-Restaurant mitten in Deutschland. Ich wollte es halt einfach mal ausprobieren, und nun habe ich ein neues Lieblingslokal. Das Fondue ist besser als jedes in der Schweiz, das ich bis jetzt hatte! Selbst das von Mama kann nicht mithalten! Das gesamte Ambiente und auch die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und super sympathisch. Es fühlte sich an wie zu Hause. Auch die Hygiene lies nicht zu wünschen übrig. Einfach nur Top! Alles in Allem wirklich absolut empfehlenswert. Ich werde wieder kommen!

Great spot for a Swiss style dinner. I had the Raclette which was very nice (actually first time I had some Swiss food :)). Place has a wonderful ambiance, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Fantastic place to try your first Swiss Cheese fondue. Really novel food experience (first time trying this!) in a cosy but central location with great food and service. The little design details by the owners of the place make the entire dining experience a delight all the way through. Highly recommend you check it out!
