Five Guys in Berlin

These restaurants don't always take a long time and are rude to eat just kaka

We were at Five Guys on Friday (November 22nd) because we urgently needed to go to the toilet. So we went straight to the toilets, but were stopped straight away by a security man. According to him, we were only allowed to use the toilets if we bought something beforehand, as we needed a code for the toilets and this would be on the receipt. Since I have problems with irritable bowel syndrome and really needed to, I asked the gentleman if my fiancé could buy something and if I could go to the toilet while I was there. Of course I wasn't allowed. So we had to buy something quickly. There was also a code on the receipt, but I didn't need it for the toilet (!!!). While my fiancé was waiting for me, he observed some people going to the toilet without ordering. Despite the urgency, we were turned away and that's not possible. In this respect, we cannot recommend Five Guys at Alexanderplatz and will not continue to visit the chain for the time being.

Solid burgers, quick and friendly service. Quality was perfect, burger and fries were very good

The burgers are very good and are among the best I've ever had. However, some of the staff hardly speak any German. All in all, it's good that we went there and tried the burgers. However, the prices are no less juicy than the burgers.

Very expensive for such quality. The burger tasted good, but the buns were cold. At this price you have to cook better. I had a stomach ache afterwards because the kitchen was probably not clean.

Great food, everything else absolutely terrible - Very expensive, ~25 euros per person - more cumbersome and strenuous for both sides - an amazing volume in the store, no idea how the employees can stand this all day - You only get your food packed to go. Even if you eat in the store. This means that you have to tear the bag and somehow make a tablet from it. - Generally very uncomfortable atmosphere due to unbearable volume, bright lighting and people standing around waiting everywhere - Milkshake with lots of toppings, most of which are too big to fit through the straw, which gets soggy quickly Food is awesome. I loved my visit to Five Guys at Alexanderplatz! The burger was perfectly fried and the meat was incredibly tender. The selection of fresh toppings leaves nothing to be desired. The fries were crispy. The staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely my new favorite burger shop in Berlin!

Hamburger is good. But the drinks are not good. The atmosphere of the shop was not good.

In the middle of Alexander Platz, so it was busy, the lady at the till got mad because the language barrier. It is not necessary to buy fries for your burger, because it is huge

Great team of employees. Everyone knows what to do. The table was wiped before eating and we were asked later if everything was OK. Really attentive. The taste of the burger and fries was perfect. I'm no longer used to being able to refill drinks without limit. This also applies to ketchup, mayonnaise and napkins. Was there for the first but not the last time.

Let me tell you for the Turks who will come to Berlin, it is an overrated company and you do not need to choose the hamburger that you can find everywhere, when Germany's wide delicatessen culture and its companions are beer and pickles. I bought a small cheeseburger for almost €10 and it's smaller than a cheeseburger at McDonald's for €2. The service doesn't speak German and is very difficult to understand. Absolutely not recommended. Prices are bottomless

I'm currently on a school trip to Berlin Alexanderplatz and I'm thrilled. It was the first time at Five Guys, it was a bit expensive 1x cheeseburger bacon & 1x small fries 18€, but it was really tasty and really great.

The place itself has its own vibe and style but the food and milkshakes were amazing. So the Biscoff and Oreo milkshake were really wow, the price is relatively good for the quantity. There is also a pin board where you can “immortalize” yourself or something :)

When I say "Small Cajun fries, please" that's a complete order and a complete sentence. Then the cashier doesn't have to ask about the size or offer other products just because he's mentally teasing the girls at the neighboring checkout and isn't focused on the matter. He can ask if that's all and doesn't have to repeat the menu by heart.

The visit there was bottomless. Two cheeseburgers, one fries and a drink = €37. Incredible. And that for fast food. The burgers are nothing special. We ate on site and yet everyone was only served the food in a take-away bag. The prices are also stated without VAT, which is then added on top, which is really a disgrace. The drinks from the vending machine taste disgusting. If I could, I would give 0 stars.

Totally overpriced for subpar food. I have no idea why this chain is so hyped, but it does a lot of things worse than the competition. For a small burger, small fries and a drink you'll get almost exactly €20. It's steep, but you can go out for a "real" meal elsewhere - there you would have a cozy atmosphere, service at your seat, etc. Here, however, after paying, you are handed the paper cup for your drink and then you have the first disappointment: the cola is really "easy on the stomach" - warm and practically non-carbonated. Then you get your menu, packaged in an ecologically questionable paper bag, aluminum foil around the burger and paper cups for the fries. You can also get sauces in paper cups. Except for the aluminum foil, it's all residual waste - at that price, why not just reusable tableware? In any case, you now want to sit down and only now find out that there is no space available. So that you don't have to eat standing up, you sit at a dirty table with strangers. The noise and the atmosphere are more reminiscent of a train station than a cozy restaurant - at least it is warm. When you open the paper bag you can see that two thirds of the fries are flying around loosely. So you dig out the burger underneath and find that the fries taste okay, but they cover the salt requirement for the next three days and the temperature is surprisingly close to that of the cola: namely lukewarm. That leaves the burger: unwrapped from the aluminum foil, you realize that the fluffy bun has been completely flattened - a shame. At least it tastes okay - but nothing more than that, kind of boring. Simply too little for the price. No tasty seasoning, no homemade sauce (just standard ketchup/mustard/mayo/...), no aromatic cheese, nothing, just plain taste. At over €10 just for the burger there has to be more. All in all, one of the worst burger menus I've ever eaten - and at the same time one of the most expensive. Next time I'll go to the big M. I'll get lukewarm fries there, in a not very clean atmosphere, but the burger is at least average (instead of below average/boring) and not mashed up, and the cola is at least ice cold - and that Everything is available for half the price compared to here. On the other hand, if I want to eat out again for €20, then I would rather go to a real restaurant, with better service, a nicer atmosphere and good food. Five Guys cannot begin to offer all of this.

It was my first time at Five Guys, and I was really curious about this place because I've heard a lot about this chain. The menu is rather short: mostly burgers. I ordered a cheeseburger and french fries. The burger was tasty and solid. A good thing is that extras like vegetables and sauces are included in the price. The french fries were crispy and perfectly salted. Fun fact: they’re fried in peanut oil, which gives them a unique flavor. A nice touch is salted peanuts free of charge. The whole place has a fabulous atmosphere, like an American bar. It’s crowded and loud, but the staff work really quickly and polite and always smiling. I found only one downside: the prices are a bit too high for me, but that’s just my opinion. So, I definitely give five to Five Guys!

Horrible experience! The first instance of coming in was these rather unpleasant staffs that constantly yelling at you to get to the counter and order while you‘re there trying to figure out what to actually order. Food was an absolute average for its expensive price, burgers from some Döner stands were even more delicious. It was not worth the penny at all. We were already having a ridiculous time there and just wanted to go through the night, but these highly arrogant and rude cleaning lady was the icing on top! I have been living in Berlin for 5 years, but never encountered a cleaning personnel this entitled to start commanding the costumers. Like we were there and had pur foods for free and has little right to be respected. What a nightmare! Will never come back and highly do not recommend! No wonder there were only tourists that was dinning there.

The store wasn't very busy, but the order still took longer. (small fries & bacon cheese hot dog) Fries weren't fresh & dry, the bacon was rock hard & the bun was barely there so flat it was pressed.

Great for something quick, food was really nice. The syrups for the coke zero & regular coke definitely needed to be changed though as the taste wasn't nice at all.

Ambience: just ugly and loud. You want to be outside again quickly. Service: The fries were spread all over the paper bag and not in the paper cup (?) where they were supposed to be. Eat; I ordered a so-called veggie sandwich. A burger bun arrived with grilled vegetables (onions, lots of onions, champions, peppers) no sauce, no spices! The whole thing with a cola for €17??? I would never go there again.

Was there at 11:00 in the morning, super nice, nice service, super great food, fast food that wasn't this good in a long time, no additives in it that are intolerable. Clean toilets, quick food on time. Everything is still warm and it was really fresh. I would recommend it again at any time. Ambiance was a bit loud music, but as we all know that's a matter of taste. Otherwise no trays which might be irritating for some. But it's something new that's clearly different from McDonald's. How do I get out of here now?

It is a great place to grab something quick. The portion size of the fries is quite generous. They have multiple flavours of coca cola and fanta to try out. The taste of the burger and fries is quite nice considering it is a fast food burger joint. Will definitely recommend it for a quick grab.

Really good burgers if you want real burgers from a fast food chain. Small is enough for everything. We shared a small plate of fries and couldn't eat them together with the burgers. Noisy environment absolutely. But choose e.g. the tables closer to the door, because the kitchen brings too much of the noise.

It was our first five guys experience, the drinks were not cold in some vending machines, there was a strong smell inside, the place needs ventilation, but there is nothing to say about the burger, especially the potatoes, it was very delicious.

Sorry, but 32 euros for a burger, fries, a Coke and a shake is so cheeky and misses the target group. The burger is okay but never worth 12 euros, I'd rather not say anything about the small, sometimes black fries that you get carelessly in the cup and in the transport bag (ONLY 9 EUR), you can't go wrong with Coke in the postmix, and the shake consists of 150% sugar.

I had heard that it was the best fast food burger... the cold potatoes and not completely cooked, you wait a long time, and they didn’t want to let me into the bathroom because I was supposedly not eating there... 70 meters from there is another hamburger place with better quality and service! I also paid €25 for a hamburger with small potatoes and soda.

The walls were full of excellent reviews of critics. When we got in we firstly saw the reviews and then the prices of the burgers. They were too high, so we got worried but at the same time we had high expectations of the food. What came was a disaster. The bread was stale and for sure many years old, the size was not fitting the price and the general quality was extremely low. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Ps. Remove the misleading reviews off, we spent 10€ for a bad meal.

A lovely place tucked in Alexandarplatz and it has seating arrangements both outside and inside the place is immaculately clean and the service is spot on We had our usual food with a vegan burger and normal burger one drink to share and one regular fries The ketchup and mayo is free unlike in other places in Berlin where you have to pay The staff speak both German and English so it is easy for non German speakers Just be aware when they call your order they call the numbers in German but they will help if you ask The food was delicious the fries were slightly over done but it was ok the drink was good I couldn’t get the ice of the machine maybe it was me had free peanuts whilst waiting for the food I would recommend this place it is good food centre of city and nice ambience

The employee almost fell asleep when taking the order. We were completely yawned. Absolutely disgusting! Hopefully there will be terminals there soon and such arrogant, unfriendly employees will be sorted out. 0 stars!

I ate the most disgusting burger that I gave 3 bites to and didn’t like it, upon taking it up with the manager that I’m not satisfied with a meal I payed 81euro for she said and I quote „What can I do you ate most of it” she offered me a free milkshake like that’s going to fix anything + it doesn’t matter if I bit it once or two times, the meat was appaling and I was not offered anything in return

Nothing special, but the burger is better than other fast food chain burgers and the place offers more variety in that regard. Service was ok but the communication was spotty because I was spoken to in English instead of German, not a problem for me, but I would have liked it differently.

The best restaurant I've ever eaten at. Everything is freshly prepared according to your own wishes and tastes very tasty. The staff responds to your wishes and is very friendly. Ambience great. Keep it up.

It was friendly and delicious. The price seems to be slightly cheaper or similar to that in Korea.

Once and never again. Bacon was crispy but unfortunately already a bit cool. Small fries 5.25 and no matter whether you take with you or stay, you just get everything stuffed into a paper bag, in which of course the fries fall out of a cup that's too small... not at least on a tray like at McDonalds. But it's enough for the (relatively) quick number...

Was at Five Guys for the first time today and it was probably the most disgusting meal in terms of burgers that I have had so far. Incredibly sticky, greasy and simply not tasty. The rolls were soggy and full of fat and sauces I found it inedible. Don't know if that's standard, but for me the whole thing was unique! Then it's better to go to McDonald's and that's saying something.

Some of the fries were not ready, and it would be good if you wrote a menu or a single burger. But otherwise good burger and like that you can choose what you can put on your burger, but the atmosphere was very loud because of the kitchen.

I have never experienced such rude staff. The bouncer follows a customer to the toilet and then demands that they present a receipt and that you are not allowed to go to the toilet until you have ordered something. The boss is very unfriendly. We weren't allowed to go to the toilet, but another man without a bill was allowed to. And when we asked why, the store manager simply kicked us out of the store: I've never experienced such unfriendly behavior from customers. And of course you lose the desire to order something. It would be good to rethink which staff you hire. Unfortunately we couldn't order our burgers. And the leader refused to tell us his name. The highlight “you could have taken a receipt out of the trash and shown it” Given the prices, where a large fries costs almost 9 euros, you would expect better handling.

The bathrooms are free, which is very rare in Berlin, and they are clean. The food is very rich and very sufficient.

As in NYC, so as should be, everything is soaked in fat, it is not the best burger and not worse one , it is Five Guys burger . Strongest position in menu are French fries 🍟. 46 euros for 2 cheeseburgers, 2 large fries and 1 mixed soda .🥤

It's somehow not as special as some people suggest. The burger is quite tasty, and the fries are... well... special... you have to like them. Order in the finest Indian English. It was interesting and somehow charming. I just didn't understand the price at all. So acoustic! And like the fries, these were also salted accordingly. Yes, but the location...! No! Just no! Nothing justifies these prices! We ate more or less out of the bag, even though it was stated on-site consumption when ordering. It was okay, that was it. I don't need to go there anymore.

Everything is fine, but the price is quite high. However, it is worth trying, but only with a drink - the number of flavors in the machine is gigantic. Everything here is gigantic and American, so it's just nice. From burgers, through nuts, unlimited ketchup, to US newspapers and awards hanging everywhere.

Rude staff Disrespectful Intimidating children

Really good burgers and extremely good fries. All you can drink! The service was a bit rough because I didn't immediately understand how the system worked. The noise in the store is extremely unpleasant. Loud rock music and even louder screaming of order numbers.

The concept of the restaurant was unfamiliar to me and the three young people. The cashiers were grumpy and couldn't bring themselves to give instructions on how to place an order. We don't speak German, so we deal in English. The customer service staff's English was unclear and difficult to hear due to the noise from the kitchen. The french fries I ordered had been thrown into a take-away bag so that they were scattered around. The food itself was average in taste.

Negatives: - Long Wait Time: It took about 25 minutes to get my order, even though everyone else in the restaurant already had their food. - Cold Fries: By the time I received my meal, the fries were cold and unappetizing. - Excessive Noise: The music was unbearably loud, forcing me to yell my order at the counter. This constant noise made the entire dining experience very uncomfortable. - Rude Staff: The staff member handling the orders was incredibly rude. He yelled out order numbers aggressively and repeatedly, creating an intimidating atmosphere for customers. Overall, it was a hellish experience. I would not recommend this restaurant unless they address these issues. Turning down the music and improving staff behavior is crucial, especially given the high prices. Customers deserve better.

Ordered to "eat here" and then everything was thrown carelessly into a bag. Little fries! Half the bag is full of them and who still makes fries from old potatoes like that and leaves the peel on? Terrible. The burger was wrapped in foil. Hello? If I want foil I order a kebab! I've never experienced burgers in foil.

Came to 5 guys with my family and saw a guy taking water in his bottle from the machine. I've been to quite a few 5 guys around the world and I've always been allowed to refill my water for free. So, my mum asked a staff at the counter about this and he directed her to the machine to get the water. My mother who is not skilled at using all this tech asked a young gentleman for help and he filled her bottle with sparkling water. I understand that we didn't pay for this but it's not like my mother took the water knowingly. The manager very rudely came up to my mother and started yelling at her in German. He did not have to yell at her and could have said it in a calmer manner. To top it off, we had ordered regular Cajun fries and received normal salted fries and we did not resort to yelling. Even when we complained about the fries, we only got given a little Cajun fries but again we just accepted it and did not make a fuss. There is a certain amount of understanding one needs in life and perhaps, the manager should reflect on the culture of hostility he has created towards tourists who do not understand the language.

I recently visited Five Guys in Berlin and was overall happy with my experience. A small downside was the longer waiting time compared to other Five Guys branches I've visited. It seems that the Berlin team sometimes struggles to keep up with the high demand. Despite this, the staff was friendly and eager to provide guests with a pleasant experience. Another plus point was that it was the only place in Berlin I visited that had gender-segregated toilet facilities. I found this to be very pleasant and rare in the city. The restaurant's location is central and easily accessible, making it a convenient option for a quick, tasty meal in Berlin. Overall, I would recommend Five Guys in Berlin, especially if you're willing to wait a few minutes longer for your burger.
