Really delicious food, and it was great to sit outside in the winter, protected from the weather, and drink mulled wine! It was fun.

We've eaten there twice now; the service is very friendly, we like the ambiance, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it.

We stopped here for an afternoon snack because we were hungry for fish, and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. The selection of food and drinks is very good, and the staff was very friendly. Prices are on the higher side; unfortunately, the fish sandwich with fried fish for €10.50 didn't completely convince us, as it was a bit dry. Otherwise, a solid experience with room for improvement.

The exclusive herring roll and a 0.75L bottle of local beer come with it. The service is relaxed and cool 😎 Very good, keep it up! 👍

Wonderful place to enjoy delicious fish. The four of us went on a long weekend in Norderney and spontaneously arrived there in the afternoon. There was space, although it was well attended. The service was super nice, friendly and really in a good mood. The dishes ordered were personally served to the pond by the chef, were fresh and looked very tasty. As it turned out, they were tasty too!! Everything is also priced for the island. And the small, green dessert is also recommended (pistachio liqueur). The next visit to the island will certainly include a stay here.

Very good fish specialties, delicious beer and generally a nice, relaxed atmosphere. A bit expensive but the quality justifies the price. If you want to eat good fish and drink delicious beer, the fish connoisseur is in good hands👍🏼

Because of the many positive recessions, we went to the fish connoisseur. Location with kiosk ambience with top redtaurant prices. Service was friendly and the menu was brought to the table quickly. Likewise the drinks and food ordered. Matjes rolls overloaded with tartar sauce but very little herring. The fish soup, which was described on the menu as containing plenty of fish, came in a medium-sized disposable glass. The taste was ok, but I missed the fish addition. A few mussels and a few pieces of fish, the rest were strips of vegetables! Completely over the top for 19 euros. After I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waitress, it was explained to me that fish soup is, after all, a use of leftovers and that we are, after all, on Norderney!! Okay, I've taken note of that and won't be visiting this kiosk again! Because there are much better restaurants on this beautiful island! I am aware that good food must and can have its price. But I can expect something in return!

The restaurant is recommended and the dishes are tasty. The reservation system or the reservation signs, which indicate the time from which it is occupied again, are advantageous. This means you can use tables without a reservation, as long as the time slot that is still open fits into your own planning.

The food is generally ok, a small selection of burgers and fried fish or fries. Unfortunately the latter were cold until they reached the table. Very small selection of drinks. There are also only tables in the covered outdoor area. Don't forget your jacket! Can you do...

Service was friendly and attentive; Unfortunately, we only tasted the breading of the fried fish with potato salad, we couldn't tell whether the potato salad was fresh or..., the side salad was very tasty. Conclusion: we had imagined enjoying it differently!

We took a short break here with our small tour group. Absolutely delicious, especially the salmon roll "Korean style" :-)

Two years ago I got some really tasty fish rolls that tasted exceptional, and the fairly high price was justified. Now (2025) absolute average. The fish & chips tasted below average: jacket potatoes in slices, not even cross-fried, the fish with a thick panko crust and absolutely tasteless. Definitely overpriced for this average quality at best. There are better ones on the island... enjoyment is different!

Great location and mega fish sandwiches!

The Norderney fish connoisseur offers good fish dishes, but not all of the options are convincing at the moment. The matjes was really tasty, while the fried cod with grandma's potato salad and green salad was disappointing. The fish was rather dry. The salads were average and could have used more flavor. The service reacted to criticism rather defensively and showed little interest in improving. Still, the restaurant isn't bad, but there is potential for improvement. Because I know it better from last year. Maybe the restaurant can improve its offerings.

We sat at the table for over 10 minutes and were completely ignored by the waitress! She passed us several times without any reaction from her; It wasn't really full either. It's a shame, we liked it there so much last time.

Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen waren wir hier zu Gast. Der Kabeljau war viel zu stark paniert, man hat nur eine zu stark Gewürze Panade geschmeckt. Fischstäbchen schmecken besser. Der Kabeljau war auch nicht mehr der frischeste. Personal war freundlich. WC ist zu klein, nichts für stabilere Menschen.

You sit outside - even when it gets cold. Heaters are available but were not in use. The service is not very attentive, you eat on paper plates. The food was nothing special, too expensive considering the high price level. It's a shame, as the name promises “fish enjoyment”.

We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. We were there with children and that's exactly what doesn't seem to be desired. We were treated very unfriendly when ordering and then very abruptly asked to wait outside the terrace. There is no criticism of the food, apart from the excessive prices. But there will be no further visit.

I can recommend a visit there to everyone.

Even before you enter the place, it smells of rancid oil. Then you are greeted with a know-it-all lecture, and after ordering you are thrown out and have to wait outside in the rain. You can't get a table either because everything is reserved (but half empty). If you like impossible operation and poor quality, you'll find what you're looking for here.

Roll was older and no longer fresh. Unfortunately the meatball wasn't to my taste at all. The crab roll was okay so far. The crab was nice and juicy but the roll was too hard. Unfortunately the sauce was saved.

Ein etwas anderer Imbiss. Man muss da schon hin wollen, denn einfach so vorbei geht man da eher nicht. Aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Das Brötchen war zu meiner Überraschung warm. Es war ein sehr leckeres Matjes Brötchen! Es gab auch gar nicht so viel Auswahl, was ich positiv sehe.

A top fried fish roll is available here! Fresh young team. Good rolls, not cheap stuff. A little expensive, but that's what you're used to on the island. The latte macchiato was also good. Thank you for the great lunch snack

The fish connoisseur on Norderney is a real highlight for everyone who appreciates good food and a relaxed atmosphere. As soon as you enter you feel welcome - the service is attentive, friendly and ensures an overall pleasant experience. The food was excellent: the pulled salmon poutine surprised us with a great combination of hearty salmon, coleslaw salad and crispy dippers. The prawns in garlic and chilli stock were perfectly cooked and had a pleasant spiciness. The Caesar salad, one with juicy chicken and one with fried fish, was fresh, crunchy and wonderfully seasoned. The selection of drinks also left nothing to be desired. The Norderney Brauhaus beer went perfectly with the food, and the selected wine rounded the whole thing off wonderfully. Conclusion: An all-round successful evening with delicious food, great drinks and excellent service. The fish connoisseur is a must for every gourmet on Norderney!

Yesterday we had another great meal at the fish connoisseur, having reserved a table online from home. Food, drinks and service were great, the “special” ambience is unique... a must on Norderney!!!

Waren aufgrund der guten Bewertungen hier, und waren äußerst positiv überrascht von der Qualität und der sehr guten kulinarischen Erfahrung! Hatten eine hervorragende Fischsuppe, einen Lachs Burger mit einem (nachgefragt weils so gut war) Dinkel Bun. Fish and Chips (nicht zu Tode frittiert) und einen sehr guten Salat. Außerdem noch einen Mandel Kuchen. - Wirklich selten dass in einem Lokal alles gut, frisch und nicht 0815 ist!!! Einziger Kritikpunkt ist, man isst draußen ( zwar schon unter Dach, aber so „Heizpilze“ wären schon echt der Hit an so kalten Tagen. Aber kalte Tage sollte man wohl gewöhnt sein auf Norderney 😂

The biggest disappointment since there were fried fish rolls. Tiny fish with too little tartar sauce in a roll that was too big. Simply a bad experience for €10.5.

Not “just” the fish, but also the 🍔 meat were superbly prepared. The onions in the burger were almost certainly deglazed with red wine 👌🏻Everything was perfect and the prices were appropriate for the quality, as is appropriate for the island. Will come again on this vacation. Addendum: a year later only a maximum of 2 stars. Dry fried fish, potato salad without any taste. Add salt to the dippers. Sad development. Unfortunately it was to go. I would have left it back at the table.

A mix of snack bar and restaurant. Really delicious food (we had herring and fried fish), chilled out music, a cheerful operator (the NDR broadcast lured us here) and a very successful atmosphere under the heat lamps in the outdoor area. We really liked it :-)

So when I say “fish enjoyment” I really imagine something different! A manageable selection of fish dishes....more in snack style and modern....and prices that are worth it. Completely overpriced! Also the glass of Pinot Gris we had, which was more of a puddle, the contents...you really can't call it "a glass of wine", for €6.15 as was the special that I ordered, which came with it A mini bottle of Mezzo Mix with 0.2 content for €3.30 is really a rip-off! Likewise the fried fish with potato salad, a normal standard fish dish at every fish snack bar in northern Germany for a whopping 21.50!!! It's just a rip off. Sorry guys, we've been going to Sylt for years, but even Sylt is significantly cheaper......in everything...than Norderney!! Hard to believe, but true! I really missed a fish plate with various fish fillets, fried potatoes and spinach etc. in a "fish connoisseur". Likewise mussels or shrimps in garlic sauce etc... I would probably have had to go to Gosch, which I actually didn't want to do. But with the price of the fried fish, I don't even want to imagine what a mixed fresh fish plate with side dishes costs on Norderney. On Sylt about 15 € ......and the glass of wine is really a glass of wine! And I'd rather not say anything more about the "Spezi"!

My daughter and I went to this fish restaurant for the first time today. Since we really wanted to eat fish, we ended up in this overpriced shop because there was no alternative anywhere. The fried fish was undoubtedly good, but the price of €21.50 was unaffordable. For 0.15 l glass of Pinot Gris wine it was a whopping €6.00!!! No, we won't be coming back because these excessive prices don't even exist on Sylt at Blum and they have a really good and extensive selection of fish, which you can't say about this shop

No standard stuff, a little more expensive than the standard fish stalls, but you also get more and, above all, more taste. Finally no cheap remoulade from a tube

After watching a documentary about the store, among other things, I was very curious. Sitting outside in a rustic ambience under a roof and with a heater in stormy weather. Very hungry, I ordered a fish soup for 19 euros. It tasted excellent but a small half mason jar was only 3/4 full. 4 slices of bread with aioli. I actually wanted to fill myself up with the fish soup and not the bread. Not a good price-performance ratio. I went out hungry and bought a much cheaper match roll in the city center. Very unfortunate

First impression was great, lots of people and a good review attracted us here. It was very full and after the first question (2:00 p.m.) whether a reserved table could be occupied for 4:00 p.m. one employee said no and shortly afterwards a second said yes, but there were already people sitting there. We then sat down. Ordering drinks and food was quick and arrived quickly even though it was full. I had Mediterranean salmon fillet which was very tasty. My companion had fish & chips which somehow looked and tasted like frozen food. Unfortunately, even the delicious tartar sauce couldn't make up for this. Price-performance for the island is slightly high considering that it is an open location, which works well in good weather.

This wasn't a run-of-the-mill fish sandwich but something special. The prices are a bit high, but the preparation is also special. I can't say much about the service since we ordered rolls to take away. But it didn't look too bad on the side for sitting on high chairs.

I had salmon, which was really incredibly good. The Spanish employee creates a pleasant atmosphere. The dark-haired waitress was definitely too snippy and didactic for me and should perhaps be careful not to gossip about guests in front of guests. Therefore I wouldn't go there again. But I can't get the salmon out of my head🫤🙄🙄

The lady who initially tried to serve us was extremely unfriendly. She left one question unanswered and said we should read the card properly first and then it would come back. She didn't come back. This is all about handling masses and making a lot of money quickly. Warmth is a foreign word here! 3 stars only because the salmon roll was tasty.

Wir haben uns jeden Nachmittag ein Fischbrötchen gegönnt. Es sind wirklich die Besten Fischbrötchen der Stadt. Ob Backfisch, Fischfrikadelle oder Brathering, sehr leckeres Brötchen, alles super frisch und wird individuell für dich zubereitet. Immer wieder gerne.

The fish connoisseur offers a wonderful selection of fresh fish dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. We decided on the fried fish with potato salad, and the dish was completely convincing. The fried fish was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfectly fried and with a light breading that brought out the fish flavor nicely. The potato salad served with it was classically prepared, with a balanced ratio of acidity and spice - an ideal accompaniment to the fish. The friendly service and the pleasant ambience make your stay in the Fischgießerei special. If you appreciate fresh, well-prepared fish, this is the place for you. Absolutely recommended for all fish lovers!

Super tasty dishes. We were there once for dinner and once we had a fried fish sandwich. Everything tasted wonderful to us. The roasted potatoes are highly recommended.

Super cute little spot on the island. The dishes are interpreted in a more modern way but are super tasty. You can't sit inside, but that's not a bad thing. The seating on the side is very comfortable.

Very pleasant atmosphere, calm, attentive service. The tone is more casual. The oysters were very good and extremely fresh, which is why they are not always available.
