No standard stuff, a little more expensive than the standard fish stalls, but you also get more and, above all, more taste. Finally no cheap remoulade from a tube

After watching a documentary about the store, among other things, I was very curious. Sitting outside in a rustic ambience under a roof and with a heater in stormy weather. Very hungry, I ordered a fish soup for 19 euros. It tasted excellent but a small half mason jar was only 3/4 full. 4 slices of bread with aioli. I actually wanted to fill myself up with the fish soup and not the bread. Not a good price-performance ratio. I went out hungry and bought a much cheaper match roll in the city center. Very unfortunate

First impression was great, lots of people and a good review attracted us here. It was very full and after the first question (2:00 p.m.) whether a reserved table could be occupied for 4:00 p.m. one employee said no and shortly afterwards a second said yes, but there were already people sitting there. We then sat down. Ordering drinks and food was quick and arrived quickly even though it was full. I had Mediterranean salmon fillet which was very tasty. My companion had fish & chips which somehow looked and tasted like frozen food. Unfortunately, even the delicious tartar sauce couldn't make up for this. Price-performance for the island is slightly high considering that it is an open location, which works well in good weather.

Sensationally delicious, very friendly

This wasn't a run-of-the-mill fish sandwich but something special. The prices are a bit high, but the preparation is also special. I can't say much about the service since we ordered rolls to take away. But it didn't look too bad on the side for sitting on high chairs.

Very good food, relaxed people and a nice location. The fried fish roll is more expensive than the competitor with the red lobster, but it's worth it. With the pulled salmon poutine you also have a dish that simply tastes excellent. We like to come back every time. See you next time

I had salmon, which was really incredibly good. The Spanish employee creates a pleasant atmosphere. The dark-haired waitress was definitely too snippy and didactic for me and should perhaps be careful not to gossip about guests in front of guests. Therefore I wouldn't go there again. But I can't get the salmon out of my head🫤🙄🙄

It was a celebration for us again, the food was great and the service was an absolute blast. We'll be back!

The lady who initially tried to serve us was extremely unfriendly. She left one question unanswered and said we should read the card properly first and then it would come back. She didn't come back. This is all about handling masses and making a lot of money quickly. Warmth is a foreign word here! 3 stars only because the salmon roll was tasty.

Great at the beginning, then just expensive and portions too small. So, for the guest the offer became increasingly poor. Fried fish in a roll for over 10€... crazy!

The fish connoisseur offers a wonderful selection of fresh fish dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. We decided on the fried fish with potato salad, and the dish was completely convincing. The fried fish was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfectly fried and with a light breading that brought out the fish flavor nicely. The potato salad served with it was classically prepared, with a balanced ratio of acidity and spice - an ideal accompaniment to the fish. The friendly service and the pleasant ambience make your stay in the Fischgießerei special. If you appreciate fresh, well-prepared fish, this is the place for you. Absolutely recommended for all fish lovers!

Immer lecker und einen Stopp wert. Mittlerweile schon ein Klassiker auf der Insel. Steht den gehypten Läden in nichts nach. Das Essen ist definitiv besser als an vielen anderen Orten.

Super tasty dishes. We were there once for dinner and once we had a fried fish sandwich. Everything tasted wonderful to us. The roasted potatoes are highly recommended.

Super cute little spot on the island. The dishes are interpreted in a more modern way but are super tasty. You can't sit inside, but that's not a bad thing. The seating on the side is very comfortable.

Not “just” the fish, but also the 🍔 meat were superbly prepared. The onions in the burger were almost certainly deglazed with red wine 👌🏻Everything was perfect and the prices were appropriate for the quality, as is appropriate for the island. Will come again on this vacation. Addendum: a year later only a maximum of 2 stars. Dry fried fish, potato salad without any taste. Add salt to the dippers. Sad development. Unfortunately it was to go. I would have left it back at the table.

Very pleasant atmosphere, calm, attentive service. The tone is more casual. The oysters were very good and extremely fresh, which is why they are not always available. The breading of the fried fish was super crispy and not greasy at all. The salmon poutine is highly recommended. Cool shop, great food, casual service.

A great team with the necessary North German charm in a wonderfully rustic, no-frills but really cozy location with simply delicious food. A must for every fish lover visiting the island. Even the fried fish roll knocks you out of your shell. No comparison to the sticky fish sandwiches that you can get on every corner of Norderney. But the rest of the dishes also set standards. I love eating fish!!!! Guys, you are great!!!

Food super fresh and delicious Clear recommendation

Because of the media hype, we wanted to eat at the Fischgieniesserei on our departure day. When we arrived the outside area was already full so we popped in (we hadn't been there before). A service employee with a beard came in behind us and announced in an unfriendly, arrogant manner that there was nothing going on inside, only in the outdoor restaurant and that you can only order inside. We turned around and went to eat somewhere else - thanks for that. We definitely won't be coming back and unfortunately we won't recommend the restaurant to others. 5 stars MINUS

Mediocrity. You can invest your money better in Norderney in restaurants with friendly, individual service that really serve dishes prepared with love and don't give you the feeling of mass processing.

Ich habe mich von einem letzten Urlaub an die Fischgeniesserei erinnert und bin diesmal gezielt hingegangen, weil ich das Ambiente als so angenehm in Erinnerung hatte - und es hatte sich nicht geändert: gemütlicher Außenbereich, chillige Musik und leckeres Essen. Außerdem habe ich selten so einen entspannten Service gesehen (also wirklich im positiven Sinne) - das war schon ansteckend! Ich komme gern wieder.

A very cozy restaurant with nice treats. You can end the evening here in a cozy atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and always has a funny saying.

Our service staff was bomb. Nice “Hamburger Jung”, definitely not easy on the tongue. Rarely have we laughed so much when ordering. We were there unannounced with 12 people. Everything worked smoothly. Again and again...

Ate something there on our last day of vacation :) It was very tasty and was really fresh :) Short waiting times. Next time we will stay a little longer. Unfortunately it had started to storm, so we were only there for a little more than 30 minutes :) Tip: It's best to reserve in advance :)

Salmon rolls tasted good... although not exactly cheap. The waiter was so rude; incredible. Should change jobs. Complained about customers. Prohibit us from paying individually. Absolutely not a recommendation if you want to feel comfortable and welcome.

If you want to be insulted by a high-strung waiter because you didn't make a reservation, then you have come to the right place. Thanks for the first bad impression of Norderney. Man, if it gets too much for you, look for another job, but don't take your frustration out on the guests.

Outdoor area right next to the garbage cans

This restaurant clearly wants to be seen as chic, but unfortunately, it falls short in several areas. The menu reads well, but the dishes leave much to be desired, and the food is underwhelming. The service is another area that misses the mark, some of the staff are damned-right rude! Pricing is on the higher end, which would be fine if the quality & service matched the cost. Unfortunately, it's hard to justify the expense when the overall experience is more about appearances and delivering the dining experience. There may be potential here, but unless it refines it's approach it will continue to disappoint & miss the mark for those seeking a chic venue.

We ordered herring fish rolls and salmon fish rolls to take away. Went relatively quickly. When we got home and unpacked, we found that the fish sandwiches were freshly prepared. Very large, well topped with fish, lettuce and onions and, with the herring, figs. A delicious fresh tartar sauce with Mathes and a honey mustard marinade with salmon. Both absolutely delicious. Absolutely brilliant together on the fish sandwich. This is how fish sandwiches should be. Keep it up!

Reviews on here made out that this place was one of the best on the island but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We arrived and were not seated at a table even though it wasn’t all too busy and we have a table reserved. The waiter just shrugged at us when we asked. We ordered and the food arrived, which was fine but nothing special. The real reason to write such a negative review is the rude service staff. When asked a question the waiter waved their hand in my girlfriends face and said wait. I couldn’t believe such rude people would be put front of house. We normally tip but with service like this that’s less than likely. Until they get new staff or new attitudes I’d recommend elsewhere. Go MANUFACTURA PASTA PIZZA instead they actually work for the money.

There were four of us plus the dog. Delicious burgers with side dishes - 0.75 liters of beer - very nice service. Clear recommendation.

The food was very good, fresh and something different. However, the service didn't work at all. Very arrogant, guests were treated ignorantly and people passing by who asked for a table or even just looked interested were brushed off in an unfriendly and annoyed manner. Something like that doesn't work unless you don't need it. Ambience: nice inside, better fast food outside. It's a shame, but not again!

Sorry for the bad review, but in the interest of fairness, it is based exclusively on the purchase of a fried fish sandwich to take away. It's possible, very likely, that the food in the restaurant is much better, but unfortunately the bread roll wasn't it. It starts with the ordering process, inside at the counter. Sure, the man there has his hands full, there are dozens of guests sitting outside and waiting for drinks. But then the store doesn't even offer such a take-out service; it doesn't seem to need it at all! So, you can tell it's taking time. Possibly even longer. Plus the waiting time after ordering. You end up standing around stupidly outside the store for a while. And then the bun. Simple ribs, a lettuce leaf, an almost tiny dollop of remoulade, plus fish. As befits fried fish, it is breaded. It means something different here, some hipster term, I forgot. Sorry... Doesn't matter. The fish itself is good, really! But he fills the standard bucket! just half way through. Add to that the sadness of that one lettuce leaf paired with a drop of tartar sauce, and the whole beautiful fish is lost in a pile of dry stuff. And the whole thing (attention, sit down!) for €10.50!!! Yep, that's right: ten euros of fuffz!!! For larger fish fingers with bread. And then it's not even fantastic. Let's face it: this island is expensive. Very! Expensive. But there are other places here where you can get (much!) better fried fish sandwiches for a little less money. Anyone can do the calculation themselves. The restaurant food might be great, I don't know. Given the really high prices in this store, I actually didn't even try it. But the street food experiment failed disastrously here. So my provocative question again: Why? Then just leave this niche to others who can simply do it better. As I already said, despite the prices the store seems to be buzzing, is something like this really necessary? I just don't understand. No matter, the recommendation remains: stay away from the fried fish roll! It's definitely great as a plated meal for just over €20! Seriously, because the fried fish itself IS good, even if it's really little...

We sat outside, protected from wind and weather. It was very cozy and rustic at the same time. Fortunately, we were there for dinner in the late afternoon as we hadn't made a reservation. The restaurant seems to be doing very well and is constantly full. I would therefore recommend a reservation, at least for the evening. The service was very friendly and helpful. The selection of dishes is manageable, which definitely benefits the quality. We ordered the salmon poutine and the fried fish “Fischgeniesserei” style. Both tasted incredibly delicious and were creatively prepared in their own way. It is served on (recyclable?) disposable plates, although I would prefer reusable tableware for sustainable reasons.

Nachdem Wir nun schon mehrmals Gäste ( bei jedem Besuch auf Norderney) der Fischgenießerei waren , hat uns unser Lieblingsessen Backfisch mit Kartoffelsalat nicht so wie sonst geschmeckt. Die Panade war verändert , viel zu fest und hart - sodass man vom Fisch fast nichts mehr geschmeckt hat. Gerne werden wir beim nächsten Inselbesuch es erneut probieren.

Sind oft über die Jahre da gewesen. Essen , Service als gehobenes StreetfoodFast Food waren ok. Da schon immer etwas grenzwertig bei den WC Anlagen für uns kein Restaurant .. gestern wieder auf einfaches gutesEssen gefreut das erste Mal echt schlechte Leistung beim Essen. Lach pulled fehlte eine gravierende Zurat die gerösteten Zwiebeln. Ich kenne das Gericht bisher das ich das beurteilen kann. Salat mit Garnelen ..mh lass ich die Garnelen weg liegt der Salat bei 20.-€. So betrachtet war das schon frech.. salatblätter mit 2-3 Tomaten.. Dressing und fertig.. Garnelen gut (4 Stück für 10.- ca.) bin echt entspannt was das angeht zahle gerne viel für anständiges Essen.. aber danach bin ich noch ins Surf Café um was zu Essan da auch noch sehr wenige Salatblötter.. kannte ich bisher anders.. Bootshaus gehört auch dazu da war das Essen gut und alle sind satt geworden. Was ist da passiert?

Unfortunately there is a very unfriendly waiter here who creates an unpleasant atmosphere. I can't rate the food because the waiter in question wasn't able to wait 1 minute to take my order and instead preferred to throw around rude comments. It's a shame that he seems so unhappy in his job.

Dear holidaymakers Before we got there we thought that there are always bad experiences, but I guarantee you that you will get the worst customer service of your life here! It doesn't matter whether you are German or a tourist. The staff is incredibly unfriendly and rude! Within five minutes we noticed that other customers had received incorrect orders and the staff were extremely annoying! If you walk a little further towards the beach, you will reach the surf café or the Riffkieker! You will receive wonderful service there! No matter what time of day, fair prices, friendly staff and most importantly: a view of the beach and the North Sea, not of the street! Please be aware of the bad reviews at least for this restaurant because I don't understand how they could get other positive ones! There are other places where you can enjoy your vacation.

We had a great evening with very tasty fish (there are also some vegetarian dishes!) and an excellent waiter who had a friendly East Frisian “snout”. A negative point is the disposable tableware, but you can ignore that! :)

Unfortunately we can't say anything about the quality of the food. But our experience with the advance service was unfortunately very poor. We made a reservation online and wanted to order the Helgoland lobster - since according to the menu it should be ordered in advance. There was no response from the fish connoisseur. We then wrote two more emails, but we received zero-point-zero feedback. Of course, we tried several times by phone, but were never able to reach anyone in person. At some point it's enough. There are plenty of other very good restaurants on Norderney, so it wasn't worth trying any further for us, so we'd rather go somewhere else.

Service: One friendly, the other lecturing and rude - that has nothing to do with Nordic charm, it's just unfriendly. Food okay, but don't understand the hype.

Food ok, burger that falls apart on wooden table without a plate, not very practical. The shrimp whose protein has simply leaked into the oil is not worth the price. Is praised for no reason. The bearded waiter has zero decency or respect from guests, yet the guest pays his salary. You don't dare to criticize the gentleman. I strongly recommend going to job advice, a waiter is not the right choice. The ambience and background music are very pleasant.
