Gosch in Norderney

My wife and I have been coming here to eat for years and it has always been delicious, no matter what dish we have ordered. The interior is very cozy. The staff is very polite and helpful. We always enjoy coming back to eat here, whether in winter or summer. If you've never been here before, you should stop by and see for yourself. I can only recommend it to everyone. Thank you for existing.

If you want to get something to eat quickly, it's worth a visit. The self-service works, the service behind the counter during the ordering process answers questions from guests who don't know about Gosch in a Nordic, concise and dry way... friendly is different. In my opinion, a photo of each dish is missing so that you can get an idea of ​​the food. My baked potato was pretty mushy (maybe the wrong kind?), and the salmon slices were poorly arranged around it. System catering...?

Four of us tried to order something to eat on a normal day. The store wasn't crowded either. I've never been so rudely attacked by the service staff in the food serving area as at Gosch on Norderney. The gentlemen at the drinks were nice.

Self-service, on high chairs in the covered outdoor area with radiant heaters. Perfect for a quick meal in between, but not a cozy holiday restaurant for dinner. That's why we didn't bother and just picked up a fried fish sandwich for €6.50. Fried fish was tasty and fresh. Service at the hatch is not necessarily overly motivated.

I only ate a fish sandwich with fried fish on hand on the way. Value for money here is okay for €6.50. It was a large fish stick :-) in a long roll. Otherwise relatively expensive for self-service. Looked comfortable though.

Very tasty and fresh fries. The herring roll was not well topped and was a cheap baked roll. You can get this in a better version elsewhere. Self-service, but courteous counter staff.

We stayed as a couple in the Gosch, as is known SB, staff polite and friendly. My wife had fish and chips, although the fish was very dark, I had the platter of fish fillet, lots of bones. 🤦‍♀️

All I can say is: Gosch shrimp - delicious to melt in!

As always, very tasty. There is no table service, you place your orders yourself at the counter and then pick them up. But it doesn't bother at all. It's cozy inside and outside. Good selection of food and drinks. Gosch is a must for us as soon as we are either on Norderney or in St. Peter Ording.

No, Gosch, that was nothing. Food was okay, but above all the service was subpar. Sure, Gosch is more of just a better snack bar, but taking the order and being visibly annoyed was definitely too much of a good thing. First and last time there. 👎

Wir holten uns da oft im Straßenverkauf n schnelles Krabbenbrötchen auf die Hand. Aber eher auch nur, weil die Lage so gut ist. Preislich wie alle anderen Fischbrötchenbuden, geschmacklich auch, aber trotzdem wirkt das helle Brötchen einfach nur pappig und lieblos. Ein paar Meter weiter ist das Brötchen knusprig und die Krabben liegen dekorativ auf nem Salatblatt.

Auf Norderney angekommen, führt der erste Weg zum Mittag nach Gosch. Letzte Jahre war’s auch nicht berauschend, diesmal aber enttäuschend. Goschen Norderney hat stark nachgelassen. Ist nicht lohnenswert . Schlechter Service, noch schlechteres Essen. Wir waren früher immer Gosch Fans, das ist lange vorbei.

There was fish & chips today. Not good quality of ingredients. Small fries including hard fragments and a few small pieces of fish in batter that were fried too long. There is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of craftsmanship. Remoulade OK.

Formerly yucky, today yucky – welcome to Gosch on Norderney, where the fish are slower than the service! 🐟😬 If you feel like tasting old fat and turning your stomach, then you've come to the right place! The food was a disaster. I seriously wonder if they reuse the fat from the time of the first fish sandwiches because it tasted so old I almost felt like I was transported back to a time machine. 🚀 The bowl? I don't know what to call it, but it definitely wasn't a bowl - more like a bunch of sad, non-fresh ingredients that would have been better left in the fridge. 🥴 And then the cashier... wow! Friendly as a sun - but only until the moment I didn't leave a tip on the card machine. Immediately her mood turned into a hurricane of insults! 😤 With a theatrical *clap* she slammed the beeper and the bill on the counter and turned away in a huff, as if I had just plucked the last herring off her plate. My son showed more manners in kindergarten, and he couldn't even speak properly back then! 🤷‍♂️ Gosch used to be really great, but this seems to be the new 'Gosch principle': ripping off with lousy food and a bad mood. It's a shame, Norderney deserves better. 🌊👎

Eating the fish was super tasty

The table was stuck, two of the four dishes were mediocre and two were terrible. Baked fish (block) like from the freezer. Annoyed staff. Wasted time. Never again x 4!!!

Rarely have I experienced such unfriendly staff. No response to my greeting - neither hello nor hello. Locality and price performance are good. It's just a shame about the unmotivated staff. A simple restaurant for anyone who wants to have a bite to eat or drink. We often go there in the evening to have a nightcap.

Clean is different. The tables stick and are not disinfected. After clearing away the women stand around and wait.

There was a quick fried fish sandwich on hand. Taste ok to good. The price is also reasonably reasonable at €6.50, although not cheap. The service was (once again) unbearable... 0.0% joy at work. Friendliness and things like goodbye, bon appetit or similar are probably foreign words. Otherwise good, directly opposite there is a fountain with benches and the Comversationshaus with a green meadow and also plenty of benches.

A kind of posh snack bar! As expected, fish dishes and fruits of the sea, but also classics such as currywurst and pommis. The prices are just okay. Since you have to pick up the dishes yourself at the ordering counter and therefore provide part of the service yourself, the term restaurant would be wrong for me. The dishes you get leave nothing to be desired... they are very tasty.

The waitresses don't know any please or thank you and they certainly don't know how to smile. If you want to eat something you have to wait until one of the conditions has finished writing your WhatsApp message. If you want to know what types of tea there are, all you get is a perplexed look.

Even if you have to get the food yourself, it's quick and well organized. Plus, the food is super delicious. Ambience very nice.

The Gosch in Binz is much more beautiful, the most beautiful is the Gosch in Sankt-Peter Ording and almost by the sea, the Gosch in Norderney is in the middle of the city, which is about as ugly as Bottrop or Gelsenkirchen (sorry) there are just too many Construction sins. But the food was - as always - very good.

Gosch is not far from the beach, like all Gosch branches I know, it is set up as a self-service restaurant only with a clearing service, otherwise comfortably furnished and clean, some with high tables, staff friendly, food is delicious. We will definitely come back to one or two branches.

Gosh as you know it. Not exceptional but good. Noble snack bar. You know what you are getting and the price is ok.

We ate here three times during our vacation - not without reason. Good selection of fish, reasonable price, good quality, very fresh. We enjoyed it very much (the zander fillet with prawns and the king prawns, all fresh from the grill, are particularly recommended) and the process (self-service, no reservation possible) proved to be very practical. A beautiful and clean holiday island with a great beach. You can feel that you are on the North Sea. A harsh climate with lots of sun and wind, waves that you have to get used to. Everything is geared towards tourism, lots of shops and restaurants with nice and friendly staff. The island is worth a trip and it's easy to get there. There's a ferry every hour and you're there after an hour and a half.

I can't judge the service and ambience. But the fish sandwiches are delicious.

About 10 years ago I ate regularly at Gosch on Sylt for the first time and was thrilled. Over the years I have eaten at Gosch at a few offshoots, in various holiday resorts, and noticed that it was no longer what I knew from Sylt back then. Now on Norderney I was extremely disappointed with Gosch. You can now compare it with the North Sea restaurants, only the prices are higher at Gosch, the service is worse and the staff is unfriendly and totally uninterested in the customer. No thanks, that's enough for me. Shame about the “Gosch” brand

Mass production! absolutely nothing special, basically North Sea quality on a different plate. Fish rolls sold outside are not recommended, mine was very sticky and was already a bit on the table. Inside there are almost only standing tables, so to speak you want to have the customer in the store, but make it as uncomfortable as possible for them so that they can quickly give up the table again. I don't have to go back here.

We always enjoy visiting Gosch.

Auf der Suche nach einem leckeren Backfischbrötchen haben wir uns ganz auf den bekannten Namen "Gosch" verlassen. An der To-Go Theke bekommt man die Brötchen direkt auf die Hand. Für 7,50 Euro bekommt man leider einen Backfisch, den selbst Iglu besser hinbekommt. Quadratisch, trocken, alt und nicht der rede wert. Wer mal in den Genuss eines echten Backfisches, frisch frittiert gekommen ist, der kann hier nur den Kopf schütteln und das Weite suchen! Hier gilt eher sehen und gesehen werden aber wer qualitativ hochwertig essen gehen möchte, egal ob auf die Hand oder vor Ort, sollte sich doch andere Lokalitäten suchen!

Disappointing! It was our first time at Gosch and we didn't know the “self-service concept”. We didn't like that at all. We were there at lunchtime and the shop was busy. Our food was very disappointing, frozen breaded fish, ready-made mayo with a few dried herbs added and offered as “remoulade”. Fries not cooked through. Ready-made salad with a few pieces of pepper and cucumber, mixed with a few drops of ready-made dressing. No, people, that passes for cafeteria grub for me; for me it has nothing in common with good food. The fish fry around the corner is way better - even without a well-known name. Why is the store still full? No idea!!!

Delicious food in a beautiful setting

The menu distinguishes between “grilled” and “fried” shrimp. In practice, the shrimp are all prepared in the same dripping pan. So there are no grilled shrimps at Gosch on Norderney, what a shame!

Food wasn't exceptional. There is also covered outside seating, but we sat inside. Very cramped in terms of space. We had to order food at the counter and pick it up ourselves. But after the meal it was cleared away. But, I was told, that would be typical of Gosch. For me personally it wasn't anything special. For me, eating in a restaurant means not sitting on your neighbor's lap, a waitress who gives good advice and food that tastes good.

Unfortunately the food is not recommended. Baked fish, currywurst and Thai noodles with shrimp were ordered. All of the dishes didn't convince us and weren't very appetizing in our opinion.

Das Marketingkonzept von Gosch auf Norderney scheint aufzugehen: der zentral gelegene Laden im Imbißstil ist meist bumsvoll. Warum, war uns unklar: Bei den relativ stolzen Preisen ist die Selbstabholung der Speisen an der Essensausgabe inkludiert sowie in meinem Fall ein Pannfisch mit 3 zu trockenen Fisch-Filets an Mini-Salatbeilage und sparsam bemessenen Kartoffeln. Dafür ging alles recht rasch ... und eine junge, freundliche Angestellte hatte uns geholfen, in dem Trubel einen freien Tisch zu finden.

My visit to Gosch on Norderney today was unfortunately disappointing. The food was as usual, but the service left a lot to be desired. The lady behind the counter was particularly negative because you could clearly see that she didn't feel like working. Friendliness and commitment were sought in vain, which greatly spoiled the overall impression. For a restaurant that has built a good reputation, this is unacceptable. This urgently needs to be improved.

Almost outrageously bad food at an even more outrageous price. Things were much better a few years ago.
