If you want fresh fish, this is the place to go. It doesn't get any fresher or tastier than this. The restaurant itself is located right on the lake and offers a beautiful view.

I can't say anything about the restaurant, we only went to the fish shop. It was fantastic, a great selection of smoked fish, fried herring, etc. Sales are direct and straightforward, from the fisherman! We'd be happy to go back; it's a must if we're ever in the area again.

At 7:45 p.m. on a Friday evening during peak summer season, it was no longer possible to order dinner and drinks! Six hungry men would certainly have generated a good turnover. Germany, a desert of service?! What a shame – not good advertising, especially considering the very rude response to our polite inquiry. The quality of the food, unfortunately, cannot be rated.

First time here, delicious food, view of the lake, peace and quiet. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. Highly recommended.

This is an absolute insider tip... here the eye will be satisfied, but also the heart, the palate, and the body. The selection and quality of the dishes served is impressive and highly recommended. Reservations are a given, and a tip for all snobs and know-it-alls... go somewhere else; you won't find anything to criticize here. Kudos to the chefs... you are sensational!

Reservations are highly recommended – you'd have to be really lucky to get a table spontaneously. My family has been there several times on their vacation and was thrilled. My family and I went to this restaurant during our sailing vacation. We were returning from a long trip, on a cold and rainy day, with two small children, looking for a port with a restaurant for dinner and to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We saw that this restaurant closed at 8:00 PM, so we hurried to get there on time. We arrived at 7:30 PM and didn't feel at all welcome. On top of that, we were told the kitchen was already closed, when Google said it was closed at 8:00 PM. I'm giving them 3 stars because I don't want to offend them, but I do ask them to change the hours posted on Google Maps so that the same thing doesn't happen to other people.

Unfortunately, the customer service is completely unfriendly! After politely asking if there's any possibility of getting a table, you're rudely dismissed and simply left standing in the rain. Anyway, we left our money at Kleeschen, where we received a warm, friendly, and welcoming welcome!

Super rude staff. We asked for a table and the waitress just said „No!” Out loud and didn’t even look at us and ignored us.

A short trip is worth it. Picturesquely situated overlooking Lake Stolpsee, you can enjoy freshly caught fish. Be sure to try the whitefish!

We were there a week ago on Saturday evening, after a bike ride. It was a great evening, both and especially because of the very good fish dishes (green eel, steamed and fried pike-perch, salmon, and one meat-eater with a Hamburg schnitzel 😉), but of course also because of the lakeside location and the excellent service. Although it was busy, everything went smoothly. I had made a reservation in advance by phone, which I think isn't a bad idea at peak time at 6 p.m. Thank you for the wonderful experience – not only do they serve good fish here, but also (insider for the staff!) GLASSES 😂 We'd be happy to come back!

The service at the fish smokehouse was super friendly.

The place handled the lunch rush well; reservations are recommended. Drinks orders came very quickly, and the freshly prepared food didn't take long to arrive. We were thrilled with the excellent value for money and service. The view of the lake is magnificent, and you can even sit on the terrace in the sun and enjoy the beautiful weather. We'd love to come back.

For the price it's a disgrace. You usually pay over €24. In return you get the “side vegetables” from the can (they are particularly tasty with the potatoes and carrots) and a very small fish fillet. All in all, absolutely not recommended

Fish sandwiches are delicious and the price is right

We would have liked to have eaten there on Sunday lunchtime. There were reserved signs on four tables. When we asked whether there was still room for two people, we were sent from one employee to the next. The waitress explained to us briefly and succinctly that she needed all four tables and left us standing. Rarely have we been turned away so unkindly in a restaurant. We probably won't come back.

The ambience inside and outside doesn't necessarily invite you to linger. The taste of the food was delicious but the portion size is rather inadequate for this price. The price-performance ratio here is not right at all, even if the fish is not cheap to buy, which we all know. Something needs to be readjusted here. The service staff should show more empathy towards their guests

Stopped spontaneously and had very tasty, fresh fish dishes. Fast service… food was on the table within 15 minutes. We'd love to come back.

We, 4 adults, wanted to have lunch at this fish restaurant around 12 p.m. yesterday. There were 2 people on the terrace, all the other around 8 tables were unoccupied. All tables in the restaurant are empty. Reserved signs on all tables. When I asked a woman, obviously from the service, whether we could have a sit-down meal, she replied: There's no room for you here, go to the fisherman's, there's a fish sandwich. I think we will never enter this restaurant again and advise everyone not to visit. Too bad for Himmelpfort.

This place is absolutely magnificent! We stumbled upon it by accident and got to see how the fish is smoked and prepared. The salmon was incredible, and the staff, especially the fisherman and his daughter, were very friendly. They taught us a lot about the lake and its native fish. The view over the lake and the fishing boats is stunning and we felt genuinely welcomed, making it a truly memorable cultural experience.

There should be 6 stars for the fish, and for the location too, too good to be true. Right on the lake. (You can also come by boat) We had trout and zander and were more than satisfied. Next week again!

The fish restaurant in Himmelpfort is a real highlight for fish lovers. We were particularly impressed by the smoked fish - tender, aromatic and of the highest quality. The idyllic location directly on Lake Stolpsee contributes to the relaxed atmosphere and invites you to linger. The staff was extremely friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The family atmosphere and the attention to detail make the visit a special experience. We will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the restaurant!

Excellent fresh fish dishes at reasonable prices. Next door there is a fish shop with a large selection of fresh fish and our own delicious smoked fish and fish sandwiches.

A stunner, but definitely make a reservation

Sorry, but I've never had such a bad fish sandwich. Dry roll without butter or tartar sauce. Totally loveless, well, and the friendliness wasn't a disaster either. I never again. That was nothing!

We had booked a table. But walk-in customers also had a chance to get a table on weekdays. The female waiter was super nice. The fish dishes are delicious. The vegetables were partly frozen, but mixed with fresh vegetables. Everything very tasty and colorful. There is a small boat dock for guests arriving from the water.

When I requested a reservation, it was rejected because it was supposedly already fully booked for 3 days. There were “Reserved” signs on every table, inside and outside. The female waiter initially turned us away in a very unfriendly manner, saying it was fully booked, although hardly any guests came into the restaurant throughout the evening. Despite everything, the food was very tasty.

That was really something good! The fish dishes were really tasty, something you can't get that easily elsewhere. On the terrace you have a beautiful view of the lake. The service is quick and friendly. I had reserved terrace seats a day in advance, otherwise they would be fully booked.

Unfortunately not a full score, but only because the portion was really puny. There was even a lot of savings on the side dishes. Really just 3 half potatoes or a mini portion of fried potatoes. It's a shame, because the taste was great. But for over 20 euros you want to be full. The male waitress wasn't exactly cheerful. But the lady who also served us.

Unfortunately, we can only agree with the bad reviews as we didn't have a chance to enjoy the food. The two of us opened there around 6 p.m. on a Wednesday. The restaurant was busy due to the wonderful weather, but there were still seats available both inside and outside, albeit overwhelmingly with reserved signs. When we asked for a table, we were arrogantly turned away by the lady serving us, without even trying to seat us somewhere else after a bit of a wait. It's a shame, but we won't be going there again in the future... We finally found what we were looking for in the town right next to the lock and even though everything there was fully booked, we were still able to find a place for us.

A really great fish restaurant with extremely good quality, regional. You have to book days in advance otherwise you have no chance of getting a table. The restaurant doesn't have to worry about guests at all because, as I said, demand is extremely high. Unfortunately, the service is only very moderately motivated and anything but enjoyable. I didn't know that the infamous Eastern charm still existed in gastronomy. If you don't care about service and friendliness and want good, fresh, regional products, you should definitely go here...pure nostalgic...

The food was good, sufficient and, in keeping with a fish restaurant, had many fish dishes. There is still a bit of work to be done when designing the area surrounding the terrace. But the view of the lake is very beautiful. If you just want a small snack (fish sandwich) on the way through, you'll get your money's worth. What was a little strange to me was that a reserved sign was placed on every free table and then removed at will when the guests who arrived were "pleasant". We didn't understand the system behind it - except perhaps there weren't enough staff?

Great, super unfriendly service! I wanted to ask if there was another table for three people (how naive of me!). The first service person ignored me with a stony look, the person behind the counter greeted me with a curse: "Shit..., there are only two of us here!" Well, I'm sorry that I'm a bother as a potential customer. As I stood in the restaurant, I remembered that something similar happened to me here last year. Ok, this won't happen to me a third time. Well, we were welcomed very friendly as guests elsewhere in town and had a delicious meal. Of course I can't judge what the food is like here in the fish restaurant. But if you like being treated badly, this is the place for you.

This excellent fish restaurant, in a wonderful location by the water, is located a little deeper in the town on the main road. There is a large parking lot next to the restaurant. From the terrace and from the party tents you have a fantastic view of the Stolpsee. Large parasols offer protection and the comfortable seating invites you to linger. The service is very good, friendly, quick and competent, the food is stylishly prepared and individual dining requests are also fulfilled. My vendace with fried potatoes was a dream and the trout was also great. Definitely a highlight of the day and it shouldn't be the last visit. Highly recommended.

The two of us had lunch on July 4th. Staff helpful. Food was served carelessly without taste. Naked salad, dill sauce without taste, fish not well cooked, fried potatoes also prepared carelessly. Portions far too small and price far too high. We do not recommend the restaurant.

We have been coming to Himmelpfort on vacation for 5 years. We ate there at least once every year. The first 2 years it was really excellent. After that it fell off more and more. Fish is fried fresh, but the side dishes are just bad. Tk vegetables. Roast potatoes terrible. At an average price of 25 euros, it is not affordable. I know that everything has become more expensive, but you can also overdo it. Maybe we should rethink the philosophy. But that's probably not desired anyway. 7.30 p.m. Kitchen closes. Nothing works without a reservation. Guests are sent away. Although there are enough free tables. I know, staff problems. Too bad. A little tip, Templiner Hof

Whenever we visit Himmelpfort, we always have a meal at Stolpseefischer. The excellent hospitality and the delicious 😋 food with a view of the Stolpsee have now become a must for us. The food has become about 6 euros more expensive (like everywhere else), 🤷‍♂️ which unfortunately cannot be changed given the current politics.

Wir waren wegen der schlechten Bewertungen hier etwas verunsichert. Haben uns aber trotzdem entschieden das Restaurant zu besuchen. Wir hätten echt etwas verpasst! Wir haben vor unserem Besuch reserviert und wurden dabei freundlich empfangen. Als wir ankamen, durften wir uns einen der freien Tische aussuchen. Das Essen war super lecker! Wir hatten die sensationelle Rauchfischsuppe, danach den Saibling und das Hechtfilet. Dazu einen ausgezeichneten Riesling. Der Kellner hat sogar am Nebentisch für den Gast den Fisch filetiert. Der Service war super nett und freundlich. Es wurde auch gescherzt. Fazit: Wie man den Menschen im Service begegnet, so bekommt man es zurück.
