Finkenwerder Landungsbrücke in Hamburg

If you sit outside, you have a nice area with a relatively nice view of the Elbe. However, the menu is different than if you sit downstairs or inside. The restaurant's design is very cold and less appealing to me, but it's a comfortable place to sit and eat. The food is good.

We went there today to eat fish sandwiches. The snack stand wasn't open at the time. But the very friendly waitress got us the sandwiches we wanted anyway, thank you! They were delicious, fresh, and just right.

We're in town thanks to Harry Potter and were looking for something near the hotel. We ordered two Hamburg panfish dishes and one herring dish. You can't really go wrong with herring, but the rest was a disaster. The fish was served with fried potatoes and a Dijon mustard sauce. Unfortunately, everything was drenched in the sauce, which completely drained the flavor of the food, and the potatoes were completely mushy. The fish didn't come with any lemon, and it wasn't seasoned. And why? Well, the sauce wouldn't have been necessary.

Unfortunately no fries and light beer

I ate there today for the first time in a while. The positive aspects were the friendly service and short wait times; it simply wasn't very busy. The pan-fried fish I chose tasted absolutely fine, but the portion size was very meager for the price. In other fish restaurants, something like that would pass for a senior citizen, or even a child's menu.

So what kind of restaurant is this, that's terrible. I ate a pork steak that had no taste, croquettes but store-bought and only onions, no sauce, totally lifeless, the plate I can unfortunately only advise against

The location, right on the pier, is excellent. The service (an Asian man) was very friendly and prompt. Special requests were happily accommodated. The portions are rather small, for example, for one man. We also heard this from neighboring tables. The food was still good and tasty. Plaice for €27 with a handful of fried potatoes and no salad (just something green to decorate the plate – yellow-green parsley and a soft baby tomato) is quite something. The ambiance is dated. The restrooms are a major problem. Old fixtures, water constantly running onto the floor, cleanliness... Not wheelchair accessible!! The door only opens halfway, making it impossible with a walker or similar. No grab handles and veeery small restrooms. Plenty of outdoor seating for watching the ships. Parking is available.

Our out-of-town guests have always been enthusiastic about the plaice, but today it was bland and almost cold. The fish soup was a thin vegetable broth! The fish platter was no longer available at 1 p.m.... Whatever happened to this wonderful fish restaurant? Absolutely not recommended!

I'm a huge fan of this restaurant and always recommend it. But now, after a long time, I'm back and found a nice spot on the terrace, and then it's "self-service"? Sorry, I can't understand that. No matter what shitstorm comes next, I find it absolutely outrageous. I'll probably only come here when the weather is bad, sorry.

Passive-aggressive service. Whether that's why I didn't fully tolerate the food is anyone's guess.

You should definitely visit and eat there

An absolute must for us on every visit to Hamburg – taking the boat from the Landungsbrücken to Finkenwerder and eating plaice. But what happened here? On our visit on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was almost empty. The Finkenwerder plaice was not only very small but also quite tasteless. We certainly won't be going back to this restaurant anytime soon!

Very expensive, they're just taking advantage of the location. The chicken strips with the salad were already cold. I had to ask for the baguette, and then I got a cheap pre-baked baguette roll!

An absolute insider tip in Finkenwerder! I was completely thrilled with the Finkenwerder Landungsbrücken restaurant. The location right on the water is fantastic – with a magnificent view of the Elbe River and passing ships. Perfect for simply unwinding and enjoying the maritime atmosphere. The food was excellent: fresh, lovingly prepared, and with a regional touch. I especially recommend the Finkenwerder Scholle – simply divine! The service was also top-notch: friendly, attentive, and warm. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. A place to feel good – whether for lunch, coffee and cake, or a cozy dinner. I had eaten panfish, as a fried potato fan I was disappointed by the fried potatoes, many burnt thin potato slices and then to charge 23€ for this children's portion is a disgrace

Disappointing: Fish soup in a small bowl with 1 mini mussel, 1 mini shrimp, a few pieces of fish, about 1.5 tablespoons of vegetables, and a faint fish flavor, all for €9.90.

Great restaurant with a very large beer garden and a great location on the water. Friendly staff.

The terrace is self-service, but offers a beautiful view of the Elbe River and the old customs house. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We were here on our motorcycle, and Finkenwerder is definitely worth a trip.

A very nice, spacious restaurant with a tasteful ambiance. My plaice was excellent, although you had to pay extra for the Finkenwerder-style bacon.

We were here on July 5, 2025, with a group of 10 people. We chose pan-fried fish and other dishes. Everything was excellent, and the service was super friendly. We would love to come back.

**We went to the beer garden - I can't comment on the quality of the food*** We took the HADAG ferry to Finkenwerder and stopped in the beer garden for a drink. The shandy tasted stale; the other drinks were okay. The self-service service was understandable for a beer garden; however, there were some weaknesses: the staff were more preoccupied with their phones than serving guests (and that was a self-service area!). The dish drop-off area was overcrowded - a feast for the ravens!

The Finkenwerder Landungsbrücke used to be a place for solid fish cuisine. On our last visit, the tables were about half full. First impression: The dishes on the menu have shrunk by two-thirds – only three or four fish dishes that you can get anywhere in Hamburg. The fried herring, which the restaurant used to excel at, are – of course – no longer available. After about 25 minutes, we were informed that our table – which was at the edge of the outdoor area – would not be served and that we would have to sit more centrally. When asked about an order, staff responded several times by saying that someone else was in charge and that the order request would be passed on. This happened about four times. The service (the term expresses a very high standard in this case) never knew which table to bring the orders to, which is why the guests present spontaneously formed a support group to clarify who would get what on the waiter's tray. The current service staff agreed that they disagreed – and cheerfully and publicly aired their differences in the restaurant. When asked about the matter, a particularly distinguished, energetic little waiter said that one had to express one's opinion – and that he, and the restaurant as a whole, were very well-respected and popular. Finally, a brief comment on the food: The Hamburg Pannfisch was mediocre basic quality – and at over €20 per portion, a decidedly unfair price-performance ratio for that quality.

Unfriendly, rude, ignorant. Unfortunately, all we got was a wait and rude answers to polite questions. We left the restaurant.

Very nice ambience, very tasty food.

The waitress was prone to errors – possibly due to an intern – but this was "corrected" with humor and self-deprecation by an experienced waitress -> charming and entertaining! My godmother, among other things, didn't receive the dish she ordered, but found it so delicious that she didn't want to give it back.

The food was overpriced and simply not good. The potato salad was a mixture of mayo and a lot of mustard... the fish was almost undercooked. The beer was flat. The baguette that came with the salad was only brought upon request and was incredibly small. The wait times were long, and the dining room was cold. The iced chocolate came without a straw. Even paying took ages, even though the place wasn't full... All in all, not recommended.

Expensive-uncomfortable-not very tasty.

The restaurant used to have a much more extensive menu, but now it's unfortunately very limited. The quality of the food was good, but the service was at times overwhelmed.

We were a group of 6 people. Two of us ordered only one drink, and two ordered coffee and cake. My wife and I, since we hadn't eaten anything else that day, each ordered a regular fish platter. The drinks and cake were served within the usual timeframe. After we'd finished our fish and coffee, we still hadn't received our fish! After about an hour, I asked the server, who was more absent than present in the dining room, when our food would finally arrive. She told me that we would have to wait a little longer, as they only had one (cooking?) plate available for preparing the fish, and other guests before us had also ordered fish! After I asked again 10 minutes later when our food would finally arrive, we were promised that our order was being processed and that she would bring the fish, which she did. Unfortunately, my salmon fillet was killed twice: once during the catch and the second time in the pan. The top part of the salmon fillet was completely dry due to overcooking, which the server confirmed even after I pointed out. In summary: According to our friends, the cake was tasty, but the food was rather below average, poor service, and poor time management when serving different dishes – we don't need THAT – there are much better places. What a waste of time.

The plaice was truly excellent. And the service was impeccable. We hadn't made a reservation in advance for two people. The young but extremely good waitress found a solution. If you don't know the restaurant, don't go. But the fish (and that's all we ate) was excellent.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food, on the other hand, was abysmal. Even though it was just the lunch menu, some salt and pepper should have been possible. The rice was still floating in water. The potatoes with the turkey didn't come with a drop of butter or sauce. You could also describe the whole thing as tasteless and unloving. Certainly not again.

Yes, we had a short stay there to take the harbor ferry. Everything was as expected...

The place is right next to the ferry and a bus station, very central, and has a large outdoor and indoor area. The server was friendly, but there were a few odd comments/innuendos here and there (like, 'I don't want to go to the table ten times, you decide.') Furthermore, the server didn't seem completely sober (confused/stoned?). The food, however, was plentiful and very tasty, so there wasn't much to complain about.

It's not a restaurant, but a ferry dock for various ferries, all of which can be used with the Hamburg network ticket. A day ticket costs 7.50. From here, you can go directly to Teufelsbrück or the Landungsbrücken in Hamburg.

We recently visited the Finkenwerder Landungsbrücke and sampled mainly fish dishes – and were absolutely not disappointed! The fish was fresh, excellently prepared, and of a very high standard of flavor. Whether classically fried or subtly seasoned – every dish was a delight. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the kitchen are particularly noteworthy. You can tell that the cooking here is done with experience and care. The restaurant's decor, however, is rather simple and seems a bit lackluster. We would have preferred a more harmonious ambiance that would do justice to the high quality of the food. A little more charm or maritime accents would certainly have rounded out the experience. Another disappointment was the long wait before we were even served. It really took a while for someone to take our order. That was a shame, because in such a good restaurant, you expect a certain level of attentiveness from the service. Despite these shortcomings, the food really impressed us, and we give it a well-deserved four stars. If you value excellent fish and can overlook minor service and ambiance issues, this is a great place to go. We'll definitely be back – hoping the service improves!

Was war denn hier heute los ? Oben auf der Terrasse keine Bedienung, stattdessen musste man an einem Container kaffee oder Speisen bestellen und mit Pager abholen. Unten und im Restaurant wurde bedient. Kaffee war nur lauwarm, dafür gab es einen Keks. Bisher wurde überall bedient, heute leider nicht, warum auch immer.

We were there yesterday to eat plaice. Super large plaice, excellently fried. The service was also very nice and humorous, so I definitely recommend the restaurant!

Overall a good restaurant. Unfortunately, there are no places provided for people who need shade, although they are available. At a time when skin cancer is increasing due to the sun, it is irresponsible.

I had panfish which was very tasty, but the portion was almost less than a child's portion. 23.90 To ask for this is bottomless impudence! The waiter seemed very overwhelmed and constantly stressed.

Sitting outside when the weather is nice is simply awesome. The food is also recommended, whether fisherman's rolls or fish dishes. Will definitely come back.

Location is great on the Elbe, easy to reach by ferry. The food, we had hamburger panfish, was unfortunately not warm. The fish was tasty, the fried potatoes and the mustard sauce not so much. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed for the price.

Very tasty food and friendly, attentive service. The interior is a bit old, but still comfortable. The absolute highlight is of course the beautiful terrace in the summer season.

Today we ate there again after a long time. The food was tasty but not outstanding either. The service person was alone today and mixed up a few things, but they were sorted out. However, there were some dishes that were not on the menu and drinks that were not available. I wouldn't say that you can advise against a visit. But I would be happy if the operator read the sometimes bad reviews and worked on them. See you next time.

Nicely located restaurant. Right on the water. Food is great. The staff is very friendly. Ambiance is very nice. Easily accessible by regular bus and ferry services. Both stop right in front of the door. Buses: 150, 251, 450 and 350. Nearby about 3 minutes walk. X40, 146, X46. Ferry 62 and 64. There are also parking spaces.

We reserved a table for 11 people, my mother's 91st birthday. When we were all there, we were told there was hardly anything left to order for food and drink Even though we had reserved the reception was very bad Not recommended. That was the last visit.

The “Hot Love” ice cream sundae (!) for 9.99 euros came in a drinking glass with one scoop of ice cream instead of three and cold instead of warm raspberries. When I asked the waiter politely, I got an annoyed response. We could take the cup to his boss. That's not his job.

A special reservation was made a month in advance for a 70th birthday and everything was agreed upon. Shortly beforehand, everything was confirmed again on our part. On the day of the birthday there was NOTHING! Just as agreed! There was no extra room because someone else was already sitting there. The food was not as agreed, there was supposed to be a small buffet with extra duck, etc. The food was frozen, the sauce was too salty, the red cabbage tasted strange and the duck didn't work at all! It wasn't fresh, there was frozen crispy duck (more Chinese style) on all the plates and it looked exactly the same. The ambience was not nice as it was not separate but in a large open space, with high fluctuation. The only thing that happened quickly were the questions about the drinks, which was intrusive for me because no one drinks that quickly. By the way, I find the toilets much too narrow. Unfortunately, we definitely won't be going there with the family anymore.

Actually quite nice. We just don't understand why it was so empty when we were there? The quality is good, yes - the portion size could be larger for the price but otherwise ok. The waiter was on the ball and friendly and the food tasted good. The ambience is OK and cozy, but the cheap Christmas decorations at the entrance have to go. Next year put up a real tree with good decorations.

Just disappointing. It used to be a good "home-style" restaurant. We made reservations by phone. Unfortunately there was on December 23rd. no alternatives in Finkenwerder. The staff apparently did not receive a table reservation made over the phone to celebrate a 90th birthday. We should just choose a table...The sparkling wine we ordered was a sparkling Prosecco that was poured together from two bottles that had already been opened. When asked about this, I was “mixed” a new one and told that we could order a whole bottle... there would be more carbon dioxide in it. Unfortunately we had already ordered at this point, otherwise we would have left. The plaice we ordered was everything - just not fresh. Frozen goods that also tasted slightly oily. The boiled potatoes with butter sauce that were ordered twice came together in a disposable glass. The fried potatoes were ok, the remoulade sauce that was ordered came from a tube and was charged extra for €1.50. Convenience doesn't always have to be bad - but unfortunately it was. We skipped dessert. Not recommended!

Visited twice and was completely disappointed twice. An overpriced Wiener Schnitzel fried in vegetable fat - that borders on taste rape. Sour Labskaus in the deepest pink without meat - NoGo... Only the service was super nice. Ambiance more like the 70s. By the way - plaice for 30 euros, everything should be right - but a few grams of bacon on top for 3 euros - everyone should decide for themselves...

Our women ordered plaice without bacon cubes but promptly served it with it. No leaf of lettuce and no lemon, just greasy fried potatoes. We men had each ordered the English fried steak, which was served completely fried, with the same fried potatoes. There were some vegetables hidden under the steak. Even without salad and for 30 € value for money = still go. The ambience was dusty and the door to the toilets couldn't be closed so there was a bad smell in the anteroom. The website is an impudence compared to the truth, never to be recommended again and, for God's sake, not recommended. SHAME

Always very tasty food and friendly service. I prefer to sit in the “old part” of the restaurant. It can be a bit classic. It's worth it 😊

Service disaster! Went there as a family (2 adults and 2 small children). With very little business (2 tables inside, 4 tables occupied outside) we didn't even receive a card from the service. We were only asked after 10 minutes whether we were already being served. No, I would like the card. Instead of simply passing a card over from the other table who had already ordered, the lady disappeared and only reappeared 10 minutes later. In the meantime you had to organize a card from the next table yourself. At the same time, another service person was on the way with drinks and cleaning up, who ignored us twice. After 20 minutes and two whining children without even being able to place an order, we left.

I was very impressed with the service and the quality of the cuisine! Only the “external image” could be “spruced up” a bit. Therefore “only” 4 stars 😊

We went there for dinner with a large group. This was plentiful and very tasty. Our Chanty created a great atmosphere with his accordion! Our waitress (Valli) looked after us well and gave us her all when it came to dancing!! 😁 We'd love to come back this time next year.

A special atmosphere in this typical Finkenwerder restaurant. Retirees rehearsing songs in the large room, a terrace near the Elbe, typical dishes. A good address if you like places frozen in time...

Overwhelmed, uncoordinated and unfriendly staff. First contact after waiting 20 minutes, we were then able to place the order after another longer wait. Guests who arrived far after us were already served here and also ordered during this time. Then our water came and the table next to us also got their order, but ordered completely and far after us. The Tusch behind us was also waiting for their food. They had ordered well before us. After a good 1 hour wait, our food unfortunately arrived incorrectly and the ravioli were inedible. More jalapenjos than ravioli and very spicy. Baked potato with chicken went back, ordered with salmon. Meanwhile, the ravioli were eaten out of sheer desperation and hunger. At some point we canceled the salmon because it just wasn't coming. We ordered the bill and we had to wait ages for that too. Only when we got up and put the money on the table did the salmon we ordered arrive and a very unfriendly waitress who told us that we had to pay for the meal. Incredibly bad and incompetent.

Price/performance & service absolutely top, gladly again!

We were there for dinner with 16 people from a senior group (including wheelchair users). Location is well suited for people with disabilities. Service staff very friendly and accommodating. The food was served very quickly and prepared tasty. For the seniors, it was a successful trip with a cozy get-together on the sun terrace with coffee, cake and ice cream.

Nice restaurant on the Finkenwerder pier with a well-shaded terrace and a partly beautiful view of the Elbe. Can be easily reached with line 62. Friendly, non-intrusive service. The prices are HH-adjusted and therefore OK, the food is surprisingly good.

Waiting time of over 1 hour, staff completely overwhelmed and fussing.

My experience with the salmon salad was inedible. Instead of a dressing, the frying oil from the salmon was simply poured over the salad, which resulted in a greasy texture. I also found dripping water at the bottom of the plate, which further spoiled the overall impression. The yellow wax beans in the iceberg lettuce irritated me because they are not usually served raw. This raised concerns about the way it was prepared, so I returned the food. The Finkenwerder plaice was okay, but the potato salad was bland. Another negative point was the constant complaining of the service staff about the workload, which is inappropriate in the catering industry and reduces the taste experience. The pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant and the excellent location should be positively highlighted. Overall, I was disappointed with my visit and hope future guests can have a better experience.

Nice restaurant right at the Finkenwerder pier on ferry line 62, with a great terrace and a view of the water. The service was alone, so a bit hectic but still very friendly and accommodating. The food was super delicious, very tasty. Would love to come back at any time. Recommended!
