We had a truly perfect evening at this Greek restaurant. Even the appetizer was a highlight – fresh, aromatic, and beautifully presented. We were particularly impressed by the finely balanced spices, the high-quality olive oil, and the freshness of the ingredients; you can immediately taste the passion that goes into the cooking. The main course surpassed even this level. The meat was incredibly tender and perfectly grilled, the side dishes were superbly seasoned and authentically Greek. Everything arrived piping hot, appetizing, and in just the right portion size. The whole experience was rounded off by very friendly, attentive, and warm service, with our smiles on every face, making the evening even more enjoyable. Add to that the cozy atmosphere, and you immediately feel welcome and well taken care of. We will definitely be back!

We celebrated my loved one's 70th birthday at Gasthaus Filosofia and were absolutely delighted. The service was warm, attentive, and always present – ​​without being intrusive. We were particularly impressed by how naturally and carefully they addressed our allergies. We felt truly well taken care of. The kitchen was outstanding. The buffet was fresh, varied, lovingly prepared, and left absolutely nothing to be desired. Every guest raved about it – from the appetizers to the dessert. A huge thank you to the entire Filosofia team for this unforgettable evening. A clear and heartfelt recommendation!

Excellent cuisine and an exceptionally friendly team

The best Mediterranean Greek restaurant in town. The gyros is amazing and worth a visit for that alone. The service is excellent and always attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy. But I'm not one for fussy things anyway. Be sure to try the quzo with pickled fig.

The best Greek restaurant in Lahr: - Very attentive and friendly service - Very good meat quality - Very well prepared, meat and fish cooked to perfection, good side dishes (vegetables a bit too chewy), homemade desserts, etc. - Imaginative starters - Some starters (zucchini, eggplant) could be larger - Everything is more delicately prepared and presented than what you'd usually get at a Greek restaurant. - Reasonable price-performance ratio I would like to see the specials menu change more frequently. It would also be conceivable to offer a set menu that changes monthly. Otherwise, the menu is varied, so you can always have variety if you want it. The dining room is noisy when busy and quickly becomes stuffy due to the low ceiling. They could look into ways to improve the acoustics and provide more fresh air.

A wonderful evening there, as part of a birthday celebration, ended the day with a delicious meal. (Thanks to Heidrun T.!) The food and service were both top-notch, and the lamb and pistachio ice cream were absolutely fantastic!

Unfortunately, the portions were very small, the salad was tiny, and the portion sizes didn't match the price. The quality was okay, but nothing special. The staff was very friendly.

From the appetizer to the salad and main course – everything was wonderful and finally something other than the classic "Greek canteen." A surprising dessert and then a sweet finale from the kitchen, what more could you want? 100% recommendation! Only the artificial flowers and the noise when it's full somewhat diminish the experience. Otherwise, a truly great restaurant; we'll be back. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine.

I'll reserve the fifth star once we've enjoyed more dishes. Strengths: Very friendly service and good food. Those who want "fast" food should look elsewhere, though. So far, a clear recommendation.

Finally, a Greek restaurant that doesn't just serve a cheap grilled dish with lots of meat and fried potato slices, but instead knows how to combine the most diverse flavors of Greek cuisine into a whole. During our visit, we had the mixed appetizer platter and a salad each with gyro and lamb fillet. The service was warm and generally attentive. Unfortunately, the appetizer platter was much too small for the price. The dishes were delicious, but for almost €20, the quantity was really modest. The salads were much better value for money. Unfortunately, they were a bit bland and required more seasoning. I think it's best to choose one of the meat dishes at this restaurant and select individual starters to avoid the excessive price of the mixed platter. Overall, unfortunately, it was a rather mediocre visit. If I go again, I won't get a salad. The review will probably be much better then.

My wife, our eleven-month-old daughter, my father-in-law and his wife had dinner at Filosofia (zum Löwen) on April 9th, 2025. With a prior reservation, we were assigned a nice table and a children's chair. The atmosphere in the restaurant was Greek in style but stylishly decorated. You immediately feel comfortable in the atmosphere. The restaurant toilets were very nice to look at and very clean. My wife had the pike perch fillet, my father-in-law's wife had the scampi, my father-in-law had the gyros and I had the suzukakia (the minced meat). All dishes were very attractively prepared and very tasty. The portions were sufficient and the various starters (pita, ground olives, goat cheese) were also very tasty. The wines my father-in-law and his wife selected also matched the food and were very tasty. Overall, it was a great experience eating in this very nice restaurant. The fact that we were visiting with a small child didn't bother any of the guests or employees. The dog present didn't bother anyone and got his water bowl and was allowed to stay in the restaurant. The price-performance ratio was also fair and appropriate for the high-quality food. Thank you for this great experience in your beautiful restaurant! We'd love to come back!

Im Vorfeld meines Aufenthalt im "Löwen" einen frühen Termin zum Abendessen gebucht, weil ich einen Abendtermin in Lahr hatte. Das Restaurant großzügig, hell und modern ausgestatten, wie vom Restaurant beansprucht sehr umfangreiche Auswahl aus dem griechischen/mediterranen Bereich. Sehr freundlicher Service und zügige Servierung der Bestellungen, die Portionen angemessen (keinesfalls klein!), schmackhaft und das Essen sehr bekömmlich. Zum Abschluß noch einen Ouzo aufs Haus, leider war ich zeitlich etwas eingeengt.... Das Inhaberpaar sehr sympathisch, ein halbprivates Schwätzchen hat sich schließlich auch noch ergeben... Insgesamt ein sehr gutes elbenis, einer der besten "Griechen", die ich im Südbadischen kennengelernt habe.

Toller Service, Freundliches Personal und ein super leckeres Essen!!!! Einfach perfekt! Ich liebe griechisches Essen und suche schon lange nach einem wirklich guten Griechen in der Umgebung. Unfortunately I have to give 3 stars. And that's just because of the extremely friendly service. The food for 2 of us was cold, very little and really pricy. The price-performance wasn't right at all. I liked the ambience and the service but the restaurant couldn't score points with the food. And 5.50 for an orange juice? Wow... Unfortunately the salad beforehand wasn't really good either..

By far the best Greek restaurant you can find in southern Germany. Every dish is prepared with love. There are classics like gyros but also excellent vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Really a nice restaurant and not just a Greek place where meat is plentiful. Very nice atmosphere, great service. The Greek mocha is highly recommended. Although the price is demanding at 4.50 euros, it is really celebrated and limited to the aluminum jug at the table 😍 in the picture you can see the Filosofia plate for one person, highly recommended

We went there for dinner at the weekend. It was the first time we ate there. The restaurant is located on a small, sloping side street, and there are actually no parking spaces there, so you have to accept parking a little further away. Not really recommended for older people with mobility restrictions. The restaurant itself is not very big, but it is very nicely decorated...you miss the typical Greek flair here. The ambience seems a bit “upscale”. When the restaurant is full it gets quite noisy, which is not that pleasant. The taste of the food was okay, but not really outstanding. Portions are far too small and the price is far too high for the quantities. There is no option to choose side dishes such as French fries or rice. The staff were consistently very friendly and attentive. All in all it was a very clean restaurant, the toilets are also really great! We will most likely not come again as we are not fans of going home hungry. If the ambience and beautifully designed plates are more important than the quantity on them, you can't go wrong here.

Wow, what a treat that was!! We had been wanting to eat Greek for a long time and had settled on standard gyros plates. But wow, it was delicious and really well prepared. After a delicious starter plate, we decided on salads, with octopus and not gyros. Finish with a delicious desert. Service was very friendly and accommodating, we would be happy to come back.

I was there twice this week and was impressed by the super friendly service and the quality of the food. The rum steak was fried to perfection and the lamb chops were also perfect and tender. The potato slices are great. For dessert, the warm galaktobouriko (puff pastry) with homemade pistachio ice cream is simply heavenly. Must try: the triology of starters (taramas, octopus/calamari salad and eggplant puree)

Anfang Januar 2024 wurde unsere größere Taufgesellschaft mit ca. 20 Erwachsenen und 8 Kindern im Filosofia in Lahr bewirtet. Vorab hatten wir ein Menü sowie Deko etc. mit den Inhabern besprochen. Das Mitbringen eigener Kuchen war überhaupt kein Problem und für uns ein tolles Entgegenkommen! Das Essen war grandios, von der gesamten Festgesellschaft erhielten wir die gleiche Resonanz. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und sehr gut organisiert. Essen gab es reichlich sodass wir noch zwei Tage von den Resten essen konnten welche auch dann noch sehr lecker waren. Zusammenfassend kann ich nur eine sehr gute Bewertung abgeben und das Restaurant mit den unglaublich netten und kooperativen Inhabern empfehlen! Nochmals vielen Dank, wir hatten einen tollen Mittag bei euch!

Sehr gutes Restaurant und super nettes Personal

Wir waren am 2.Januar mit sechs Personen da. Die Bedienung war außerordentlich freundlich und bemüht. Sie allein bekommt 5 Sterne. Auch etwas für Kinder zusammenzustellen, da es keine Kinderkarte gibt, war überhaupt kein Problem, aber mit 12 Euro etwas teuer. Zum Essen: ich gebe einem Vorredner recht, dass die Vorspeisen überteuert sind. Wir hatten die gemischte Platte für 18.90. Objektiv ist diese etwas mehr als die Hälfte wert. Geschmacklich war sie dennoch gut. Der Salat war absolut unterirdisch. Ein bitteres Dill-Öl (?)-Dressing, kein Salz - dann lieber ein schnödes Fertigdressing. Hauptgang: Fleisch können Sie. Absolut empfehlenswert und superlecker bis zum letzten Bissen. Da kommt kein anderer Grieche dran. Großes Kompliment. Gemüsebeilage naja. Sehr Zucchinilastig. Das können Griechen auch besser. Kartoffelscheiben Daumen hoch. Die gemischte Platte hätte für die Preisleistung etwas üppiger ausfallen dürfen, gerade im Bezug auf Zaziki und Kartoffeln. Alles in Allem gediegenes Ambiente und empfehlenswert, aber mit Luft nach oben, um dem Ambiente vollends gerecht zu werden . Beim Salat bitte dringend üben. Salatdressings können so einfach und doch gut sein. Also strengt euch an, ihr könnt das - dann wirds richtig lecker.

Wir waren spontan in dem Restaurant und haben eine Tisch bekommen. Das Essen war sehr gut angerichtet und geschmacklich wirklich gut. Das Tzatziki und das auch Gyros waren sehr lecker. Die Anruchtung des Essens war gut. Die Vorspeisenplatte hat geschmeckt und diese würden wir auch empfehlen. Alles in allem würden wir wiederkommen.

Modern & gemütlich. Fantastisches Essen: sehr hohe Qualität & tolle Varianz. Service: zuvorkommend, schnell, herzlich … und all das zu fairen Preisen. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Griechisches Restaurant neben dem Hotel Löwen. Wir waren zu zweit während der Chrysanthema dort spontan zum Abendessen. Ohne Probleme bekamen wir einen schönen Tisch zugeteilt. Trotz reduzierter Menükarte während der Chrysanthema abwechslungsreiche Speisenangebote. Sehr leckerer Salat. Vor und Hauptspeisenteller nicht überladen trotzdem ist man echt satt geworden, ... dazu waren die Speisen liebevoll angerichtet, das Fleisch auf den Punkt zart und schmackhaft!! Der Service war sehr nett und stets bemüht allen Wünschen gerecht zu werden! Vielen Dank!

Tolle Erfahrung! Als erstes will ich den sehr freundlichen, authentischen und aufmerksamen Service loben. Wer „Standard 0815 Griechisch“ erwartet und sich mit billigem Fleisch, ertränkt in Sahnesoße vollstopfen will wird hier bitterlich enttäuscht. Hier gibt es feine abgestimmte Speisen ihn einer höheren Güteklasse. Geschmacklich war alles top und wir kommen gerne wieder. Besonders empfehlen will ich das hausgemachte Pistazieneis mit Pistazienkruste.

Bin das erste Mal da gewesen, essen war top! Die Portionen waren nicht zu groß was auch zu Nachhaltigkeit führt das nicht viel verschwendet wird. Geschmack und Optik vom Essen waren sehr Hervorragend. Ich kann's nur empfehlen.

Leider war am Sonntagabend das Gyros aus, aber das statt dessen bestellte Wolfsbarschfilet mit Tagesgemüse, Salat und Reis war sehr lecker. Auch die anderen Gerichte haben meinern Begleitern gemundet.

Essen sehr gut. Fleisch hervorragende Qualität. Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Punkteabzug gibt es für die viel zu warmen Getränke. Die warme Vorspeise ist viel zu teuer. Bei allen Vorspeisen stimmte das Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis nicht.
