Filini Bar & Restaurant in Hamburg

The service so absolutely atrocious. Came for lunch in between congress sessions. Waited 45 minutes, asked the manager to please send a waiter 3 times and still nothing. Ended up leaving. It was busy but it was not that busy. This staff are all over the place and just terrible service even by European standards.

Even with high expectations this restaurant was better than expected. Very good food, excelent taste and charming service. Dont let it scare You that its a hotel restaurant, its worth a visit on its own.

First of all, the most important thing: The food in the new Balaustine restaurant in the Radisson Blu Hotel was absolutely excellent! A broad cross-section of Levantine cuisine is offered. I tried a whole bunch of things and everything seemed high quality, fresh and very tasty. I think the pricing is absolutely fine, especially given the very good location directly on Planten and Blomen and with a quiet terrace facing the park. Because I don't know much about wine, I unfortunately can't provide any information about the wine list. Given the high quality of the other dishes, the dessert fell a little short - however, I also had the crème brûlée, which is not originally from the eastern Mediterranean and so I find that absolutely forgivable. In terms of atmosphere, I also think it's a good idea to turn the hotel breakfast restaurant into an evening restaurant. The furniture, decorations and place settings are harmonious and this creates a very pleasant atmosphere for dinner, which doesn't look like a “hotel restaurant in the breakfast room” at all, but rather like an upscale restaurant for dinner. For my taste, the music could be a little quieter, but that's just a nuance. The colleagues in service were very friendly across the board and asked several times whether everything was OK - very good! I think it's good that in addition to the QR code there is also a paper card on which the "mode" of the joint existence is explained. It's also great that the waiter explains again how it's meant to be done. Overall, a very nice evening - I'll definitely be back (also because the kitchen is open until 10 p.m., when it gets longer in the office it's really great) and I'll certainly bring guests with me again - the mix of quality of the food and location suits me simply very good.

Now with a new name (Balaustine) and a new concept (Middle Eastern cuisine) and an absolute recommendation! Very tasty food, fresh and prepared with lots of herbs. The service is, as usual, good and attentive.

I can't say much about the food. We sat down and were so annoyed by the arrogant, snippy waiter that we left without ordering anything. You felt more like a nuisance.

(This is about dinner; the hotel breakfast is fine.) Ordered pizza. Waited 40+ minutes. Wrong pizza came. Sent it back. The right one arrived a few minutes later. It was obviously a frozen industrial pizza that had been heated in a microwave or oven. Terrible (and overpriced). Couldn’t finish it. Avoid.

Waiter very unprofessional, downright unfriendly. The waitress cannot carry plates or take notes. Also, food and drinks could not be ordered together. There was no spoon with my Bolognese. Fettuccine were significantly less cooked than "has a bite", almost raw. So it was rather disappointing. The edge of the plate was smeared because the waiter can't carry three plates. (See photo, this is how it was put) The request “is everything okay?” Was asked in passing. I answered the question with “well no,” but the waiter just walked on and ignored the answer. The waiter described the burger as "is fresh", but when I asked if the meat was frozen, he didn't know. Then asked in the kitchen - the burger for 18.50 has a frozen patty. So it's not fresh. Ambiance is okay, the rest is a disaster. Service would be okay for a snack bar, but absolutely unacceptable for this price range. The waitress was Mr. Farzad S.

Das Essen war gut, jedoch bestand die Speisekarte aus Pizza, Burger und Currywurst, was in keinster Weise zum Hotel passt. Der Service war chaotisch, langsam und äußerst unprofessionell. Vorspeise und Hauptspeise wurden gleichzeitig serviert. Der Kellner kam nur, wenn man ihn rief, wenn man Glück hatte. Fazit: nie wieder!

Here is my review of our experience at Filini above. The restaurant is advertised as: creative Italian cuisine in the center of Hamburg. And: an Italian culinary journey. In fact: an expensive, unnecessary trip to a microwave country. Terrible. We didn't order Italian food, but ordered 2 x curry rice with so-called vegetables and 3 x beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The former came first. Not the latter at first. After 18 minutes later something different than what we ordered came, which we complained about. About 15 minutes later we got the 3 meat dishes. The time required was 4 minutes, which can only work with a microwave dish. All 3 dishes cold. In the meantime the curry rice was also cold Vegetables and probably the rest were just cheap frozen goods anyway. All dishes were in the microwave - tried to warm them up. Easy to tell because the waitress had to serve the bowls, not even plates, with a towel under the bowls. And hot/warm outside, cold inside. And at above-average prices. We returned all the dishes. And of course you don't have to pay. Annoying, unnecessary and just really bad. That's not enough. For a Chardonnay 14 euros. A Riesling 13 euros. At 0.15 l and at best average quality. Overall: never ever again. My recommendation to anyone who wants to know is: avoid Filini. And the earwig crawling on the table didn't matter. The service staff deserves praise. She was polite and accommodating. And tried to save something that had completely "messed up" the kitchen. There was just nothing that could be saved.

Salad was good but fresh out of the fridge, pizza was an absolute Desaster. Obviously a frozen base product with low quality toppings. The service was very friendly and to tell the whole story, the order was given at 21:45 when the kitchen closes at 22:00.

Frühstücksbuffet war dem Standard des Hotels entsprechend gut und bodenständig. Besonders hervorzuheben hier die warmen Pfannkuchen und das reichhaltige Angebot an Süßgebäck wie Muffins & Co. - für Hamburg fehlen hier aber eigentlich noch Franzbrötchen. Februar 2023 als Konferenzgast: Mittags- und Abendbuffet, jeweils etwas sehr fischlastig. Wo jetzt die spezifische "italienische" Ausrichtung des Restaurants herkommen soll, bleibt mir jedoch ein Rätsel. September 2023 als Einzelgast: für den Cheeseburger wurden 18 Euro aufgerufen, die Bedienung auf der Terrasse dauerte etwas (hingesetzt 20:17 Uhr, die Bedienung kam um 20:35, das Essen um 21:07, und es war nur mäßig voll an diesem Abend). Das Ambiente ist so lala, es ist halt in erster Linie ein Frühstückssaal. Fensterfront auf den Vorplatz des CCH, die Plätze etwas weiter hinten im Restaurant strahlen aber halt mehr den Flair einer fancy Betriebskantine aus, denn wirklich gemütliches Restaurantflair. Bei gutem Wetter kann man allerdings auch draußen sitzen, da gibt es dann eine Terrasse mit der Atmosphäre eines kleinen Biergartens sowie ein paar Loungemöbel.

Wir waren als external zum Frühstück und fanden es großartig! Die Essensauswahl ist gut, der Servive sehr flott und freundlich. Vor allem die Dame am Empfang war sehr herzlich.

Sehr leckeres Frühstück, große Auswahl, das Personal ist auf Zack und sehr bemüht, einen guten Service zu leisten. Es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Um Andrang zu umgehen, sollte man etwas früher da sein, aber auch zu späterer Uhrzeit bekommt man noch gut etwas vom Frühstück.

Vi bestilte to pizzaer fra deres aftenmenu, og fish and Chips fra børnemenu kortet. Pizzaerne var fra frost, og var lige drysset med lidt frisk parmesan og rucola - bestemt ikke +13 euro værd. Fish and Chips var også fra frost og blot dyppet i ønskebrønden. Vi blev betjent af en tjener som knap nok kunne engelsk. Ikke en oplevelse der var 360 kroner værd.

This is a Hotel Restaurant - Italian themed. So all reviews stating that this is not an authentic Italian.. duh. I asked for a carbonara with some mushrooms added and they did it, great taste. Do take note of the amount of food you get as it could easily fill the both of us.

Ich war auf einer Schulung im Hotel. Zum Mittagessen ging es hierher. Essen gab es am Buffet. Und es war wirklich lecker, von daher empfehlenswert.

Orkar du ta dig ut från hotellet rekommenderas du att göra det.

Auf Anfrage wurde keine Getränkekarte, über die Weinkarte hinaus, gereicht, der Wein wurde weder gezeigt noch konnte gekostet werden. Bei 12€ pro Glas schon frech. Anscheinend war unser Tisch auch der einzige, der kein Brot bekommen hat. Dass es besser geht, hat man bei den Servicekräften am Nachbartisch gesehen. 2 Sterne dafür, dass wenigstens das Essen lecker war.

We stayed at the hotel and went to the restaurant for a “quick” dinner. Service was good and the environment is nice. Food to reasonable prices and you get a proper meal, so you do not leave the restaurant hungry.
