We've been to the restaurant several times for cabbage dinners and also just with friends. The family's grandson has now taken over, and the food is still as high-quality as ever! We ate there for the first time on my girlfriend's birthday. I love fried potatoes and have discovered that, no matter how expensive a restaurant is, fried potatoes rarely taste better. What can I say? They were perfect, and the rest of the food was also very, very tasty. We had several types of meat, cooked to perfection, and the poultry was juicy. The Pinot Gris was wonderful. After Devin found out about the birthday, he treated us to two non-alcoholic aperitifs, which were fantastic. Thanks again for that. We immediately arranged for our final holiday meal, and that too was excellent, and we had a truly lovely evening on the terrace.

We enjoyed dinner as a family. We all enjoyed the various dishes. The service was friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is beautiful for typical old German cuisine, and the restaurant in Fikensolt is lovingly decorated.

War OK, aber nicht der Renner, bewertet werden Schnitzel mit Spargel, Schinken und Kartoffeln: Schnitzel gut, Kartoffeln viele schwarze Flecken, Spargel (mir persönlich) zu fest und mit Zitrone (wozu ????), Schinken OK, etwas zu dick geschnitten. Das für 35+€ ist zu heftig . Junior hatte Pommes dazu, die leider nicht durch waren und zu rot gewürzt. Leider keine Empfehlung von uns

We just had dinner there at 7:30 p.m. Jägerschnitzel with salad and fried potatoes for €20.50. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was typically Frisian and cozy. The drink prices were reasonable. The food was very disappointing. We didn't finish our meal. The meat, in particular, tasted raw and like ready-made food. The fried potatoes and gravy were the same. Everything wasn't fresh, somehow. It was a bit skeptical that everything was on the table in under 10 minutes. Tough luck. The drinks were on the house because of the complaint. Thanks, but still, we won't be returning. Maybe we just chose the wrong dish.

We had a wonderful evening; everything was just perfect, from the ambiance to the friendly and prompt service to the delicious and very tasty dishes. I had a rump steak that was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The fish pan was also excellent; we couldn't fault anything. Very friendly welcome, we were on a first name basis. The rooms are lovingly furnished with Ammerland furniture, wooden beams, old bowls and dishes, a pole oven, blue print curtains and tablecloths with lace edges. The food was plentiful, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The price-performance ratio is right.

The fikensolter bückelkroog is the only authentic restaurant in the area. As with the other visits, the restaurant was packed to capacity on a Wednesday evening. The food was again excellent.

Der fikensolter bückelkroog ist das einzigste authentische Restaurant in der Gegend. Wie bei den anderen Besuchen, war das Restaurant auf einen Mittwoch Abend voll bis hinter beiden Ohren. Das Essen war wieder hervorragend.

We were there with eight people, everything was perfect, great atmosphere, delicious food with reasonable portions. The price/performance ratio is completely fine. I can recommend the restaurant with good knowledge. What bothered me a little is that everyone is on first name terms. My parents are both over eighty years old, so I find it inappropriate.

The Fikensholter Bückelkrug is always worth a visit in Ammerland. An inn like from old times, the rustic atmosphere has been preserved, the guest feels the coziness and doesn't feel like a number, but as a guest. I don't know of any restaurant that manages to combine tradition, personality and cosiness - the regional, seasonal, very good food is almost irrelevant. Devin Kapahnke, like his grandmother, is passing this special feature on. Unchanged 5+ stars for us for years.

A rustic restaurant with very friendly service and very good, home-style cuisine. Rustic and very cozy! The food was very lovingly prepared and very tasty. The portions were very generous. Despite the fact that there were a lot of guests on site (eating kale), we were served very quickly and in an exemplary manner. Everything was perfect! Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bedient, alle waren sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das Essen , der Nachtisch und die Getränke haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich mag auch sehr die gemütliche Atmosphäre im Lokal.

It's really a shame. We were looking forward to a lovely evening and had pre-booked a table which we were then allowed to look for on our own. There was no accompaniment. There we sat at the table and were so disturbed by a "large group of men" with loud hooting and shouting that we couldn't understand our own words. Why invite guests to a restaurant if you can't order everything on the menu? When we found something that was good for us, the food we ordered was served after more than an hour. Wonderfully served in a pan! If you then compare the dish with the menu, it is strange to find no champions, but an enormous number of onions that covered everything up. When we asked, we were answered 1. Champions are out too! 2. This is our last day! I'm sorry, what? We didn't come to eat leftovers! The service is good and attentive. However, we are unfortunately very disappointed and gave ourselves two days to think about it.

Once again we had an excellent Christmas dinner with the gang, but the waitress was very stressed and couldn't get the drinks straight away. We were clearly overwhelmed, but the staff were still friendly and we'd be happy to come back

We were in Westerstede from November 10th to 12th, 2017, to relax. Based on the name and the food on offer, we stopped at the Bückelkroog. A very warm welcome from the owner, and we were soon seated at our table. The decor, with its chairs, tables, dishes, cutlery, and bowls (and the excellent service), reminded us of the 1970s. Everything was immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. Wonderful. The daily special, "Kale" with Pinkel (a kind of pork sausage), Mettwurst (a kind of smoked pork sausage), boiled meat, fried potatoes, and regular potatoes, was excellent and very filling. With the appetizer, you should order a small portion (which is also possible)! Add two Pilsners, and the bill came to just under €33. The next evening, we returned to the Bückelkroog, and the owner was happy to have us back. We've rarely experienced such a warm welcome! Today we both had the herring fillet. 3 large fillets with fried potatoes and green beans. Very tasty! Again: a very large portion! Plus 1 Alster (spiced fish) and 1 wine recommendation. All in all, just under €30. Very reasonable prices! Service, ambiance, dishes, prices – everything stands out from the dull, boring monotony. Anyone who isn't happy here should talk to the manager. We were VERY satisfied and will come back whenever we're in the area. Best wishes from the two from Dortmund. Update: We were here again on November 24, 2018. Almost all the tables were occupied. A warm welcome, friendly service, and despite the crowds, we didn't have to wait long for our food. And again, it was GREAT! Matjes fillet, Jägerschnitzel (very generous, very tasty), 2 Alster (spiced fish), 1 Coke for just under €31. Sensational value for money! For us, it's not worth going anywhere else. Update 2: We were here again on November 20, 2021. Many tables were occupied. The current hygiene regulations were observed. And again, we didn't have to wait long for our food. 2x kale: TOP-TOP-TOP. The portions are, as always, very generous – and truly delicious. Plus, 1 large Alster beer + 2 rhubarb spritzers for just under €36. And then there's the always very friendly and really very quick manager. This is gastronomy in its own right. We'd love to come back here. Update 3: We were here again on October 23, 2024. We've been trying to come here every year since 2017. The manager is, as always, super friendly, recognized us, and was happy. Very friendly service, and the grandson in the kitchen – very nice! Spargel war leider aus, aber unsere gewählten Alternativen waren unglaublich gut. Das Rumpsteak in Pfeffersauce war sehr zart, medium und wirklich groß. Die gratinierte Tomate war eine leckere Ergänzung. Wir kamen für Spargel und würden für das Rumpsteak wieder kommen. Charmante, aufgeweckte Betreiberin und gutes Team.

We didn't have a reservation but still got a table. Everything was beautifully decorated with beautiful china and antiques. There's really a lot of passion here. The food was very tasty and the portion was big enough, at least for me.

Es lohnt sich, einen Restaurant Rundgang zu machen. Das, was wir gegessen haben, hat sehr gut geschmeckt, lediglich die Bratkartoffeln waren für meinen Geschmack zu matschig. Die Berichte waren aber den Preis wert. Man fühlt sich hier willkommen, wird sehr freundlich bedient und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Great atmosphere, tastefully furnished with lots of old things from the kitchen and living room. The food, the service and everything about it is simply good!
