Delicious food! Steaks cooked exactly as ordered. A concise menu, which speaks to the quality. A charming, rustic dining room, likely a former inn. The service was friendly and attentive, perhaps a little too polite, as every sentence ended with "Sir" or "Madam," which I don't particularly like, but oh well. The food arrived on time, even though the restaurant was packed on a Saturday evening. A minor point of criticism: the meat dishes are truly generous, while the side dishes and sauces are a bit meager. I would have preferred a normal-sized portion of fries, and the sauce was only enough for half the schnitzel, but I'm sure that would have been rectified if I had mentioned it. The drinks were nice and cold, which is very important to me. All in all, a fantastic evening with delicious food and drinks. We'll be back! And not just once, even though it's 40km from where we live on the other side of the Rhine.

Very friendly service, quick and efficient. The food was very generous; my Hungry Man platter was so full that there was unfortunately no room for dessert. We can definitely recommend Fido's.

We went to Fidos for the first time yesterday. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was excellent. There were six of us, and no one had to wait for their food. Everything was absolutely delicious. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The rump steak was absolutely fantastic. It couldn't have been better. The meat was tender and crispy, cooked to perfection, even medium-rare. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and friendly. This won't be our last visit.

To the owner of this restaurant: I was stopped at the traffic lights today, heading towards the A57. When I saw the restaurant, I thought I might want to eat there. The light had just turned red, so I waited a while and took a look around. The first thing I noticed was that the conservatory or glass extension on the left really needs a good cleaning. Then there's that dirty caravan parked in the parking lot behind it. And all the leaves in front of the restaurant, even though it's autumn, could still be cleared away occasionally. That's why I wouldn't eat there.

The food was very good, the service friendly, but we found the wait time of over an hour from order to meal to be a bit long, especially since only 3 tables were occupied.

The food was incredibly delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, and they also accommodated special requests. Just two small things for the future: the parking is a pain, and Gerolsteiner water isn't a must. Otherwise, a completely enjoyable evening.

The food is highly recommended. It was very tasty, and everyone was full. What I found negative was that we were immediately informed that some items on the menu were unavailable. Other dishes had increased prices that weren't listed on the menu. But we were kindly informed. It can happen that a dish is out of stock. Here, however, there were at least five or six. That shouldn't happen.

From the outside, it's a rather inconspicuous restaurant, located at a major intersection on the B58 between Wesel and Sonsbeck. You could drive past it without noticing. But we were there four weeks ago and had coffee. Last Saturday, we wanted to try the food. By the way, I like to try restaurants, and I have to say, the service was very good, the atmosphere outside in the beer garden was very natural, and the food was excellent. I had five different types of meat for about €30 a platter, each piece prepared and grilled differently. A treat for the palate for anyone who loves meat. I was surprised by the steak, which was perfectly grilled, as well as the piece of turkey, which was very thick yet evenly cooked, juicy, and tender. Maybe you can get schnitzel on the other side of Rheinberg for three euros cheaper, but the quality is significantly worse—yes, I tried that four weeks ago. All in all, the three or five euros compared to other restaurants don't make me any poorer, but I'm happy to spend it for the enjoyment, because it's worth it. I'll gladly drive the 30+ km to eat at Fidos. So, if you're driving the B58, take a break and treat yourself; the dessert also deserves five stars!

The food was delicious, but the service was overwhelmed. They tried hard, but they weren't keeping track of the whole thing.

There were six of us and we had reserved a table for 12:30 on a Sunday. The food arrived around 2:00 p.m., despite repeated apologies. One person had fried potatoes, the others had fries, which we all complained about because they were wobbly and undercooked. The waiter simply said he would inform the trainee. We had to pay the full price, and the fries we paid for but didn't eat were apparently simply thrown away.

We had schnitzel and a burger, and I'm pretty sure the burger meat was frozen. The bread didn't look very good either. The schnitzel was OK, but all in all, it was way too expensive!

The meat had a fabulous flavor of its own; no sauce, salt or pepper was needed.

Yesterday, two of us ate at Fidos Alpen. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Poor value for money; no salad was included with any of the dishes. Drinks were too warm, apparently the ice cream machine was broken. Both meals (stuffed schnitzel), the meat, and the filling were completely dry. I don't recommend this place.

The food was great, but unfortunately, you're not allowed to look around. Huge cobwebs at the entrance. The beer garden was very messy. The ventilation grates were very dirty...a shame, a shame, a shame.

If there were zero stars, that would still be too many. This 'restaurant' is an insult to anyone who has ever experienced good food. My 300g heart of rump steak, ordered medium, came cooked like a piece of lava from the volcano - dry, tough and full of tendons. Tender? None. Taste? A sad mix of indifference and negligence. The ambience? Worse than a cellar dungeon – spider webs included. The service? Unfriendly, lame and resistant to criticism. Hygiene also seems to be a foreign word here. If you want to save time, money and your health, you should avoid this place. You'd rather go nowhere than here.

Boxing Day. Over an hour for the STARTER! waited. And another just over an hour for the main course, a total of almost 2.5 hours just for the food. The gourmet schnitzel (we had a total of 5) was supposed to have mushrooms on it, none of us had mushrooms on it! Plus there are literally a handful of fried potatoes for €3 (probably half a potato) No recommendation from us!

We ate at Fidos today and were thrilled. The service is very good, absolutely friendly and accommodating. The food was a dream. No matter whether it's meat or the side dishes, everything is lovingly prepared and very tasty. We had the Hilton Platter and the Scarlett O'Hara Steak. Addendum December 25, 2024 We were there for Christmas dinner today. The restaurant was filled to capacity and we had to wait for almost an hour, but that's acceptable given the hustle and bustle. The food was again excellent, simply fantastic. The service is great, everyone is very nice and attentive. Always keep an eye on everything and see if anything is missing. We were there for the second time now and are totally thrilled. We can definitely recommend a visit.

Were there yesterday for the Christmas party with 20 people. Staff was slightly overwhelmed, but tried hard. Food was good, it actually came to the table at the same time for everyone...but... the boss was very rude and very unfriendly towards us. The side salad (not included in the main menu) was really disappointing. The sauces were served on the plate (in separate bowls) so I would have liked a few more fries. If you don't eat much, you'll definitely be full here. We left after dinner and we definitely won't go there again. SHAME

We were at Fido's for the Christmas party. The food and the waiters were great, but the boss was very rude, which is why we quickly ended the Christmas party there and moved to a new location. I'm sorry for the staff, but none of our group of 20 people will go here anymore and won't recommend the restaurant.

The mood at our Christmas party plummeted after the host told us it would be impossible if we didn't say that people weren't coming and that reservations were made for them. There were around 20 people there and three places remained free. Such a palaver, even though half the place was empty. After eating we moved on straight away. If the landlord's announcement had come in the form before we ordered, we would have left straight away. The heating was with a gas stove, so I don't feel comfortable with a large gas bottle in the interior. The waitresses were nice, but seemed rather intimidated to me, as the boys couldn't help the situation. The food was disproportionately expensive, €17.50 for a 100g steak...so it's a steakhouse pub, not a trendy bar where you're happy to pay the price. I didn't have the nice welcome feeling that I appreciate in a good restaurant here. We won't be coming back.

We had schnitzel and the vegan Köttbullar. A big plus point is that vegan dishes are also offered. The Köttbullar and the cranberry sauce were delicious and you can tell that you really put some thought into them. However, I think the price of €19.50 is a bit too high. Otherwise highly recommended.

At first I thought it was a restaurant. But it gave me the impression of a pub with tables for eating. It starts with a menu, but there are no drinks on it. You get it upon request after you have been asked three times what you would like to drink. The waiter then poured the first beer down my pants. The starter that we chose four times only came twice and the rest when asked when the others were already ready. The steak 300 gr. was good and grilled medium. That was it then. That's why the star. It wasn't nicely presented. On dishes that look cheap and shabby. The cutlery didn't match. I don't want to go on any longer either. The room looks terrible and would definitely not visit the store again. But the prices are quite high for what you get.

Great restaurant with fair prices

Stopped here by chance and oh man, what a great meal. Friendly service, great food. No convenience, here you have to decide if you want conveniences, the food is ready in 10 to 15 minutes. But I like to wait 20 minutes for my schnitzel and it is freshly made. I will also drive 70 km here. You didn't feel like you were being deprived these days. Price performance is simply top.

This review is based solely on my impression on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and unfortunately the staff was quite overwhelmed. Still very friendly. Drinks were only available after a good 20 minutes and the starter took almost 45 minutes. Then we waited another 30 minutes for the main course. However, the food (when it comes) is excellent. There was nothing to criticize, my steak was just the way I like it (medium rare). The dessert was also great... Maybe there was a staff shortage that day🤷‍♀️ But.....We'd love to come back

The whole buffet was visually very attractively decorated, various types of sausage and cheese, even salmon was on offer - and the roast beef was great. It's also great that a chef has freshly prepared the scrambled eggs or omelette according to your personal wishes; There were also freshly baked waffles. I'm a rather 'critical' guest, but even I had no reason to complain. The service staff were very friendly and attentive, the table was nicely set and there was no crowding between the tables. The price is justified across the board. We will definitely come back!!!!! Thank you very much for this successful morning.

In some places on the walls there are pieces of wallpaper hanging down. On our There were no napkins at the table, so we had to ask for them first. The drinks arrived well chilled. The meal took about 90 minutes for 6 people, even though there weren't many guests there. The fries were in the deep fryer for too long, but all the meat dishes were great, whether steak, turkey or schnitzel as well as some kind of grill plate.

The waiter with the long hair who wears a bun is very, very polite and also funny and humorous. He jokes and serves very well. I had a meat platter and the meat was as I ordered it. I have to say I didn't really like any of the meat.

In principle, all of the food tasted very good, but the deduction was unfortunately due to the fact that my tuna steak was completely cooked through instead of being translucent in the middle. Both the starter, pita bread fried in garlic oil, and the vegetarian, vegan shrimp squid variations were first class, the main course all tasted very good, as already mentioned. The staff was friendly, and what should be particularly mentioned is the vegetarian/vegan cuisine, which is extremely good for a steakhouse, with enough choice and good quality. We'd love to come back.

Every supplement and every extra bit is billed separately, disguising the total cost. It's better to list the costs from the start. A printed, folded paper menu with 10 dishes not available doesn't look like a restaurant. In addition, none of the drinks were even remotely carbonated. That used to be much better. Yesterday I was there for the first time and I personally imagined something different. The first impression counts. Space and ambience: Closely. Tables are placed too close together. When I stretched my arm, I could have grabbed the person next to me on the shoulder. Lots of people in a small room. Loud. Eat: As a starter we had rings of fire, refined fried prawns with garlic and lemon. Tastes great, highly recommended. 9 shrimps, 1 piece of bread and a dollop of greens for 11 euros. 🧐 1. Main course, steak 200 grams with fries, beans wrapped in bacon and herb butter. Tastes great. Deduction point: herb butter was frozen. Stupid to eat. An apology was subsequently made for the circumstances. Health department regulations explained. The costs of 2.50 euros were not subsequently charged. Plus point. 2. Main course: three tournedos with baked potatoes, pepper cream sauce and a side salad. Baked potato was optimal, meat was ok. I asked that the meat not be rosy but a little more cooked. It was through. 😄 Side salad could be improved, the same raspberry blackberry dressing that you get in every normal kebab shop. Service: The service was friendly and tried to make you feel comfortable. Personal conclusion: I don't think the price-performance ratio is right. It was good and worth the experience. Point.

The store used to be really good. Now it's no longer worth visiting. The only plus point is an attentive waiter, but nothing else works. Here some examples: - No drinks menu - Eating takes over 45 minutes despite the restaurant being empty - the quality of the food is poor. Half cold, it doesn't taste fresh, it seems more like it's frozen - every supplement and every extra bit is billed separately and disguises the total cost. At the same time, the portions are very small so you won't be full with the main course + 2 side dishes. - Overall price is rather above average and does not correspond to the quality offered

That was our last visit. There is no drinks menu. Only a semi-dry Merlot was offered as a dry red wine. There was no choice. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit. Schnitzel without side dishes (neither salad nor fries) with some diced ham and mushrooms € 19.00. And then out of the deep fryer. Then the dessert: Tiramisu was supposedly sour, there were no cherries, then we decided on ice cream with cream. The cream would have fit on a teaspoon. And the ice cream balls weren't much bigger either. The price is simply too high for that.

To the positive, that staff and the operator are very friendly. The food tastes good. To the negative, we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for our food. There were four of us, so we were able to bridge the waiting time. Unfortunately there was no response from the operator as compensation.

Well, what can you say about that? Everyone liked the food (9 people), but the starter soup (Christmas menu) wasn't really hot. The meat was delicious, the plate was presented rather carelessly and the dessert (tipsy plum) was refined with sprayed cream. Christmas menu of a different kind. The very stained tablecloth matches this, without any Christmas decorations. My conclusion: just over, it's also wrong. A pity!

Schade, das war heute wohl unser letzter Besuch im Fidos. Das Steak war ok, die anderen Gerichte jedoch bestenfalls Durchschnitt. Kalter Rosenkohl, Pommes, die nach altem Fett schmeckten, Rinderrouladen so lala... Der ,,Service" war eigentlich nicht vorhanden. Das Preis-leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht mehr.
