The food is delicious. The ambience/decor looks good. But the tables are far too narrow. There are no spaces between tables - you sit back to back. It's drafty in the winter garden because people aren't able to close the doors. Cold feet included... It's also way too loud and it's hard to have a conversation!!!

The food was really very tasty. The waiters are also very nice. When it comes to clearing the plates, they are perhaps a little too quick. I had previously asked by phone whether we could stay longer than 2 hours. I was assured that this would not be a problem. Unfortunately, we were then asked to leave because the table was supposedly reserved for others. Unfortunately the atmosphere is a disaster. Everything is much too narrow. You can't get up without problems. It's really drafty outside in the annex and it's way too loud.

We used to enjoy going there or getting something to eat, but unfortunately the owner changed this year. Prices have gone up and portions have become smaller. Tzatziki has to be ordered separately for the starter and with a 20€ portion you are expected to have more than three small potatoes and calamari soaked in oil... it's a shame that it couldn't keep up to the standard.

Hello from Bremen, currently in Lohr am Main, did a little visit to the forest and on the way back to the accommodation was the Felsenkeller..., spontaneously in without a reservation because it's a holiday here. Asked politely and then it went quickly, got a table, had a drink and placed an order. All in all - I was satisfied, the food was hot and tasted good. TO NOTE: If the first guest was without a reservation before 5 p.m. (a few minutes were missing), that is service. If IT wasn't possible, I would have accepted it too. Was very satisfied.

We ate there on October 31st, we had a starter of a farmer's salad, a main course, a gyro platter and a farmer's platter, a dessert of Greek chocolate cake and a Greek coffee. The food was great, not over-seasoned, not too little and not too much, just right, the liver and meat were cooked to perfection It took a little longer, but it was freshly prepared. The ambience is great, not as kitschy as most Greek restaurants with artificial flowers and statues. The staff is courteous and very friendly. Price-performance ratio fits. We'll be back

Höchstens durchschnittlich. Zunächst ist festzustellen, dass nach der Übernahme neu renoviert wurde. Trotzdem ist die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ungemütlich , was nicht zuletzt an den an die Decke montierten grell-kaltweißen LED-Leuchten liegt, die man sonst nur aus südländischen Döner-Gaststätten kennt. Es erinnert auch mit der herrschenden Lautstärke eher an eine bessere Bahnhofshalle. Wenn man sich ein Gericht aus der Speisekarte aussucht, ist man gut beraten, wenn man sich gleich die Nummer merkt, denn der Kellner kann mit dem Namen des Gerichts nichts anfangen. Man muss dann also noch einmal die Karte aufschlagen und ihm die NummerNennen. Der gereichte Beilagensalat bestand aus recht trockenen gerupften grünen Salatblättern. Die geriebenen Karotten und der Weißkrautsalat waren meiner Meinung nach nicht selbstgemacht, sondern Fertigsalat. Das ganze wurde getoppt mit einem Esslöffel einer etwas süßlichen (wahrscheinlich) Joghurtsoße. Na gut, man konnte es essen. Das Bifteki mit Schafskäse gefüllt kam als flaches Steak auf dem Teller mit ein paar wenigen, alle zwei cm vorhandenen dünnen Grillstreifen. Ansonsten war das Fleisch grau - aber immerhin schien es durchgegart, was allerdings mit Ausnahme der kleinen Grillstreifen eher gekocht aussah. Röstaromen Fehlanzeige, geschmacklich allerhöchstens Durchschnitt. Die dazu gereichten Knoblauchkartoffeln waren etwa 10 kleinere Kartoffelscheiben, die in Öl frittiert wurden, mit ein paar Tropfen einer nicht näher zu erkennenden weißen Soße garniert. Der Reis war eine etwa 5 cm große (kleine) Halbkugel auf dem Teller. Geschmacklich wahrlich keine Offenbarung, allenfalls unterer Durchschnitt. Insgesamt würde ich die Atmosphäre mit höchsten 2 Sternen bewerten und im Allgemeinen schwanke ich zwischen 2 - 3 Punkten - ringe mich aber gerade noch so zu 3 Punkten durch. Ich kann es nicht empfehlen, werde auch dort nicht wieder Gast sein.

Over 30 minutes until the drinks were ordered, 1 hour until the starter. Empty glasses, although 4 times someone (always different waiters) was at the table because of an incorrect order. Food was OK. Conclusion: It's a shame. It could have gone better.

Unfortunately not recommended. Reserved for 20 people, space provided for 15. My food arrived after 1.5 hours, my wife's 20 minutes later (no apology). The gyro was good. The colleague's lamb was inedibly oversalted (no excuse), the fish platter was cold and full of bones (no excuse). The two tables next to us came when we had already ordered food and ate before us and then got ouzo (we didn't). The last three colleagues at our table had to ask to get one. General: Very, very high noise level, a lot of food was carried through the restaurant looking for the person who ordered it, then went back into the kitchen, came out again because they had probably identified the table that ordered it. Red wine was served either in a red wine glass or in a white wine glass with a carafe. Too bad. Another restaurant we have to cross off our list.

I was there on August 8th. with friends in the Felsenkeller. The first time since the new owners ran the restaurant. Unfortunately I have to say that it was a complete disaster. The food itself was good and that's exactly what I think is a shame. The service was subpar. We sat down at our seats at 7:45 p.m. and ordered drinks. These were brought quite quickly and we ordered starters and main courses. The starter came after about 15 minutes. However, one of them was missing, but after we informed us, it was brought a few minutes later. Drinks that were ordered between the starter and the main course were forgotten and only came after repeated requests. At 9:15 p.m. the lukewarm main course finally arrived. Here, too, the gyros were missing from three plates. The service staff tried to explain to us that it wasn't finished yet and the whole thing slowly became a laughing stock. Because gyros were served to other tables at the same time. So we had to wait another 10-15 minutes for the rest of our main course. Sort of like gyros for dessert. Instead of simply serving it to us, the waitress kept it in his hand and tried to appease us with justifications until I said he should please just put it down. The rest of our food (which we ate very slowly because we were still waiting for our gyros) eventually got colder and colder. Actually, we just wanted to pay and leave before we were stuck there for another hour. But paying was just as complicated and took quite a while. When we were ready, justifications came back that no one had asked for. A simple: "We're sorry, it was very stressful today" would have been enough and people would have understood. Instead, we were told that we shouldn't come anymore. It's a shame about the restaurant, but there is no second chance for this experience of a different kind. Too bad about the restaurant. I never experienced such conditions at Costa and the restaurant wasn't even full.

We were with the new owner for the second time (08.08) and again a complete disappointment!!! There were 5 of us again and again a starter was forgotten. Like the last time... the only positive thing is that this time the drinks and the starter came quicker... then we had to wait another 90 minutes for our main course, which of course was missing something!! And the newly placed orders for the drinks would have been forgotten if they hadn't been constantly asked!! But then to say you don't need to come anymore if you say the service isn't good when there's not much going on, so sorry, that's an absolute NO GO!!! As a small note, we were in Aschaffenburg, which is part of it, everything worked smoothly, the waitresses sometimes came to the table and asked if you wanted anything else or needed, not like in Lohr where you don't even notice when the drinks are are empty and everyone walks past.

I live in US and have been working in the hospitality industry all my life and the way of tipping has always been above 25-30% and FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE TO NOT LEAVE A TIP to a server, for me to do this is very strange. Why? I got there with my wife We sat down Waited at least 25 min for somebody to come and see us - which proper way host/es seats people down with menu-s And after somebody showed up we had to ask him for menu-s Asked about 2 sprites and water We got after another 10 min the water and one sprite And the server this time was a girl Which we gave the order and the numbers that the order come with Their way of working with numbers We only order entree-s- main dishes And okay being patient for another hour The order comes in wrong My wife speaks german fluently and told them that the number of the plate and the whole thing is wrong And the food runner different from the server takes the plate back The girl that took our order comes with an attitude I wrote this down this is ur order which never arguing with a customer is allowed on the hospitality business We told her is this one we told u that has this number on side Then she took the plate with her and left and another guy shows up explaining the plate to us Which we told him its not that And then he comes with a menu on his hand to explain us the food very very rude way of speaking to a guest And we told him its a different food with a diff number and he told us okay, he will wrap up that food for to go and it is gonna be Gratis for us meaning free to fix the mistake which they never brought that food back And then the head server came and fixed the issue to bring us the right food And then we asked for the check cause as a 2 top to enter a restaurant by 7:30 pm And to get out by 9:40 for only 2 entree’s Thats a long time And told us that their mistake is discounted on the check Like I was gonna buy their mistake Which in these cases I am not saying buy ur guest the entree But at least dont count discounting ur mistake as a favor to the guest and show them In these scenarios u buy ur guest a drink and I am talking about a sprite beverage Or you buy them dessert My experience in providing hospitality Number one and the most important is never argue with the guest The guest is always right Mistakes/wrongs Seating not in proper way Orders taking too much time Horrible server attitude And not correcting it being nice and offering smth small to the table So u can fix the whole mess I am totally disappointed as a GUEST!

It's a shame that Christmas parties are no longer accepted. Only tables for up to 10 people, as the tables should be occupied twice in the evening instead of reserving places for 25 people for a celebration. In principle it's understandable - but on the other hand it's questionable whether it's really financially better for the business. You shouldn't forget that the Christmas party usually doesn't cost the employees anything and is covered by the company - so you eat and drink a lot (you're more likely to get a dessert and an extra coffee if it doesn't cost anything) 😜. Apparently lucrative enough for all the other restaurants, because they are all already fully booked. But no problem - we'll celebrate somewhere else. Still disappointing and a real shame. Maybe this should be reconsidered.

Absolutely recommended, great service, very tasty food, had gyros with calamari, just calamari and acropolis plate. The calamari could have been a little more tender and crispy, but all in all it was great. After a disappointment elsewhere while eating as part of a bike tour and hotel in Lohr, we are going there for the third time today and are already looking forward to it again. Reservation makes sense.

We were in the recently opened Felsenkeller last Friday. We used to always enjoy going to Costa's, so we were very happy that the Felsenkeller was finally opening again. Regarding our visit, we made a reservation at relatively short notice, unfortunately the new beer garden was full to the last seat, so we got a place in the restaurant, not bad, there weren't many tables occupied here, so we could have a good chat. About the service: We were able to order drinks straight away, even when our drinks were empty, we were immediately asked if we would like anything else. All the employees were super friendly! To eat: We ordered sheep's cheese as a starter, which we received within about 20 minutes. Delicious! For the main course we had gyros with calamari, which we received after about 50-60 minutes and tasted great too. The garlic potatoes had a kind of garlic cream on them that was too intense for me personally, I like garlic, a lot of garlic too, but that was just too much for me, but that's a matter of taste. When it comes to the heat of the food, I have to say, yes, not quite as hot, but the Greeks, or southerners in general, don't eat as hot as the Germans want, that's the way it is. All in all, after 3 weeks of ongoing operation, very good, there is room for improvement but it will work out, I'm sure! Lohr has another good Greek restaurant, I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

As everyone knows, beginnings are difficult, so I won't go into the very long waiting time, the starter came after 60 minutes and the main course again after 45 minutes. Definitely still has to be played in... But a word about the Caesar salad. Unfortunately it consists of 90% iceberg lettuce. It doesn't belong there, but half of it would have been enough. Then there would be more space for the chicken strips. Unfortunately there were only 5 strips the size of little fingers. Maybe there's still something we can do about that, because at 12.90 euros there's unfortunately no right ratio at all. As was the case with Costa back then, the newly designed location is positive. What was created was very successful. But I also found it louder than back then, but everyone has to perceive that and decide for themselves.

Absolutely recommended even under the new owner. The staff is "reservedly" friendly. Although reserved does not have a negative connotation. The food is really very good. Some things actually tasted better to us. The side dishes like rice and potatoes could be a little more, yes. The restaurant (beer garden) was full when we arrived. We were warmly welcomed and the drinks were picked up and brought quickly. The starter also arrived promptly, the main course took a little longer, but everything was within reason. You could preheat the plates, but the complaining is at a high level. Some reviews are really unfair. You have to give the new restaurateur the chance to develop himself and the team. Especially when the kitchen is overrun, it can take longer. We'll definitely be back. 👍

Ambiance very nice. Unfortunately, that was it. Waited 20 minutes for drinks and 1.5 hours for food at 8:00 p.m. So the main time for eating is over. At least everyone around us was ready. After an hour I asked... Our little daughter was close to despair and crying. Well, when our food finally came at 9:30 p.m., we got pita twice more on the house. Nice gesture but we had our food there. It would have made more sense before. Food was OK.

Wer hier richtig gutes griechisches Essen erwartet ist an der falschen Adresse. Wir haben fast eine Stunde aufs Essen gewartet und als es ankam war es nur noch lauwarm. Den Geschmack würde ich als unterer Durchschnitt bezeichnen. Der Chef hat uns herzlich begrüßt danach kamen nur noch schlecht deutsch sprechende Kellner die nur das Nötigste für uns getan haben, nach den ersten Getränken wurden wir nicht mehr gefragt ob wir noch etwas möchten haben dann auch nichts mehr bestellt, Denn die Preise auch bei den Getränken lassen zu wünschen übrig, für das was man bekommt. Ich hatte eine Apfelschorle 0,4 in dem vielleicht ein Schnapsglas voll Apfelsaft war für 4 €

I would like to rate it differently, and that is my personal impression. I wouldn't come back again. The restaurant is fully booked but we still got a table at 6 p.m., which was great too! And the staff was super friendly and helpful. But the restaurant is so full that we had to wait a long time for our food at the neighboring table, they came 5 minutes after us but got their food 5 minutes before us. Everything took a long time, the drinks, the food and the bill. The food was clearly fresh but tasteless and unseasoned. The food used to be better. But maybe we were just unlucky. It was also so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation. It wasn't for me but there were a lot of guests outside.

Wartezeit deutlich über 1 Stunde, Getränke kamen erst nach Erinnerung, Vorspeise wurde nach dem Hauptgang serviert. Gyros war eher fettig und nicht sehr kross. Immerhin war das Personal ganz freundlich. Insgesamt noch viel Chaos im Ablauf. War unter dem Vorbesitzer deutlich besser.

Unser erster Besuch beim neuen Inhaber. Die Terrasse ist jetzt ziemlich eng bestuhlt, so dass zu viele Gäste Platz finden. Das schaffen weder der Service, noch die Küche. Wir haben gut 1 1/4 Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet, die Getränke haben auch zu lange auf sich warten lassen. Bei allem Verständnis dafür, dass sich Das neue Team im neuen Restaurant erst finden muss: Warum nimmt man nicht einfach nur so viele Gäste an, wie man angemessen bedienen kann? Das Essen war ganz gut. Leider gibt es keine vegetarischen Hauptgerichte, so dass man sich mehrere Vorspeisen als Haptgang bestellen uns von mehrerer Tellern essen muss, wenn man auf Fleisch und Fisch verzichtet. Das Gyros war überwürzt. Wenn sich der Service nicht wesentlich verbessert, kommen wir nicht mehr. Schade.

The atmosphere is modern and very nice. The food selection is also very diverse. The waiting time for food was also relatively short. Unfortunately there wasn't the ouzo we expected before the meal. Even after the meal we were only invited for an ouzo when we were paying. The Athens platter was delicious, but unfortunately the garlic potatoes with garlic paste spread over them didn't work at all. Especially since it definitely came from the tube. Overall everything is ok, but no more Costas Felsenkeller (unfortunately)

Yes, the service is still trying to improve, but once you're noticed it's quick and *very* warm. The ambience has a certain “minimalist chic” and, as you will see later when eating, that is no coincidence at all. The only thing that is irritating is the lighting. Inside there is a rather cold and very bright LED light, but outside it is dark as hell and already questionable in the area of ​​the steep stairs to the street. The food comes in the same style as the decor. It is high quality, tastes largely as it should and is attractively presented. You can argue about the question of whether you have to warm up the plates, but no one can tell me that the food tastes significantly different 2 degrees warmer. It is more symbolic of effort and care, but a certain amount of effort. A pro pos: By the way, I can't believe that some people here are making fun of the lack of a free ouzo. If I'm willing to spend 20 euros on a main course and tip 15%, I can buy my own ouzo. By the way, I got one. From a lovely young lady. She probably read the reviews.

Ambience after renovation 👍neat and clean Service was ok, but when I'm asked at least 20 times during my stay if everything is ok...it starts to get annoying Food...sheep cheese and calamari were good...however the side dishes were very little...no taste and the garlic cream was just not good...tzatziki would be much better with it...but the downer was the salad. ....it was already brown and wilted...they don't serve that anymore!! No second visit for us!!

Ambience is great there is nothing :) You feel like you're on vacation Food was very good Dishes contain a lot of garlic, + point from my side :), but if you want less you should say so when ordering. Gyros with Metaxa at around €18 but also quite expensive (actually with rice, I reordered). My starter was reasonably priced. For the next few sentences I would like to say that the restaurant has only been open for about 3 weeks and it may still have to get used to it. We'll definitely come back and check it out :) We only got a food/drinks menu after 22 minutes (but only because I asked one of the at least 7 waiters about it, who, by the way, walked past us several times and should have seen that we were sitting at the table with nothing but cutlery. We then ordered the food after 28 minutes and the drinks came to the table after 30 minutes. The starter arrived after 55 minutes and the main courses after 72 minutes. Ps.: we were there on a Tuesday around 8 p.m. And another thing, the salad in the pictures was of course nicer at the table, I was already stirring it around when I took the photo :-D

We were there in the Felsenkeller after the reopening. For starters there was saganaki and pita. Both starters were good in and of themselves, but the tzatziki was missing from both as usual, which made it taste bland and dry. For the main course we had the calamari. Once with grilled potatoes as on the menu and once with garlic potatoes. Calamaris were good, both very little and tasteless, no seasoning, no salt and nothing. Again, no tzatziki, just garlic mayo, which we didn't like. When eating Greek you also want to eat tzatziki. In the Side salad was some brown leaves. Another 2 euros were charged for changing the order from grilled potatoes to garlic potatoes. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

I was very disappointed having waited over an hour for the food to be cold and lukewarm and the facilities were like in the train station. All I can say is Once and never again from the spices. Absolutely bad. 0/ 8/15 They were totally overwhelmed, it's like a chip shop.

We always enjoyed eating here. Unfortunately we are disappointed after the change of ownership. We had to wait over 1.5 hours for our food, which was also more expensive and less than before. Nach dem Besitzerwechsel und einer sehr aufwändigen Renovierung waren wir sehr gespannt auf den „neuen Felsenkeller“. Die Renovierung brachte auch eine deutliche Erweiterung des Aussenbereiches mit sich. Viele Tische wollen auch entsprechend bearbeitet sein. Das Ambiente ist toll geworden und man fühlt sich wohl - auch wenn es bei voller Besetzung ziemlich laut ist. Nachdem nun wenige Tage geöffnet war, ist der Andrang immer noch groß - wahrscheinlich darf sich alles noch einspielen. Wir waren nicht zufrieden - lange Wartezeiten, keine Abstimmung zwischen den Bedienungen. Teilweise brauchte es mehrere Nachfragen. Auf unser Essen haben wir 1,5h gewartet. Qualität des Essens ist OK - kein Highlight, absolut in Ordnung, stark knoblauchlastig aber letztlich bekommt man für einen fairen Preis soliden Standard. Mehr nicht. Wir werden sehen, ob die Performance besser wird, wenn sich alles eingespielt hat.

Food very good after reopening. Staff very friendly and quick even when the restaurant is fully booked. There is a small criticism for the time it took for our food to arrive. Of course, this still has to level off and was really still within limits for the number of guests in the restaurant. What is particularly worth mentioning is what was conjured up from the somewhat outdated rock cellar. It has been completely renovated from top to bottom. The new ambience has become very nice and you feel very comfortable. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately we had to wait over 1.5 hours for our food. Then one dish was cold, there was no suitable cutlery (fish knife) for the fish dish, the other two dishes were at best okay and actually far too expensive for that. In general, people save on the cheap side dishes (grilled potatoes and fried potatoes) and the tzatziki or garlic sauce comes from the bucket. We then had to wait half an hour to pay. All in all very disappointing and can no longer be compared with the previous owner.

Very courteous service staff. However, kitchen organization still seems a bit overwhelmed in the first week after reopening with a new host. The restaurant was fully booked and we therefore had to wait a long time for drinks and food. The starter platter was excellent, the main courses would have deserved a little more side dishes, but were good. We'd love to come back.

Now Costa, what "should" I say about you (you and Irini), apart from "Efcharistó", which would be far too little. Thank you for the wonderful time with you, your friendship, kindness, good food of course and security (somehow home). We will miss all of this together, but will always be remembered despite it all. You have introduced us all to Greek hospitality and treated many of us like friends, and this has often turned into a real friendship. Unsere übliche Einleitung sparen wir uns, wir haben uns auch gegen Fotos entschieden, da wir nicht wollten, das die Bilder etwas anderes wiedergeben, als das, was wir präsentiert bekommen haben. Der Service war ausgesprochen gut, sehr nette Begrüßung, auch bei der Platzwahl gab es nicht zu mekeln. Speisekarte lag schnell auf dem Tisch, die Getränke wurden im Eiltempo serviert. Wir entschieden uns für die Nr: 39 & 44.! Das Gyros mit Kalamaria ( fritierte Tintenfischringe)war unterirdisch schlecht, die Kalamaria waren zäh wie Leder, nur ein gesundes Kau - Organ, konnte ihnen Herr werden. Das Gyros schmeckte so dermaßen nach Schwein, das uns binnen Sekunden der Appetit verging. An dem zweiten Teller, ist positiv zu erwähnen, der Fleischspieß, er war zart, gut gewürzt und auf den Punkt genau gegrillt. Die Kalamaria s.o.. Bei beiden Gerichten, gab es Knoblauch Bratkartoffeln und Reis, beides war okay. Der Beilagen Salat war ebenfalls ganz OK. Unser Fazit: Ein Restaurant das bei uns glatt durchfiel. Ob wir nochmal wiederkommen, auf jeden Fall, um zu schauen und zum probieren, denn ☝️es kann nur besser werden.

Ein rundum wunderbarer Ort. Essen schmeckt zu moderaten Preisen. Und der Eigentümer ist ein absolutes Unikum im besten Sinne. Mit Herz und Seele bei der Arbeit und voller Energie. Ein Tisch muss gerade im Winter auf jeden Fall reserviert werden, denn der Laden ist immer brechend voll.

I went to the village fountain with friends to eat goose. The food was so incredibly delicious. The staff friendly and on the ball. The ambience in the vestibules exudes a touch of nostalgia and invites you to reminisce. The rear area/hall has been renovated and modernized. Precisely because all in all it was a great experience, we are thinking about going back for a goose meal at the end of January. But this time we want to walk via Steinbach to Halsbach. Then there is more space in the goose's stomach. 😅 I'm already looking forward to it. 😋
