The Fallerhof is located very close to the motorway, making it easily accessible for an overnight stay – but this also means a slightly higher noise level. The service was very friendly, the breakfast was extensive, and the coffee was good. The rooms were clean, although a bit small.

This was our first time at the Fallerhof. We were passing through for one night. This will be our hotel near the border in the future. 🙏 The restaurant is highly recommended. We had four dishes, including a starter and a main course, all very flavorful and delicious. That alone makes us want to come back. 😋 🤗 The food is still cooked with love and passion here. Niklas at the reception is very personable and friendly. 😉 We also had a personable and very friendly service at breakfast. So what more could you want? We highly recommend this hotel. 🍀🩷

We were there for dinner, so I can't rate the rooms. The service in the restaurant was excellent. We received a warm welcome. The food was very good. The strips of beef fillet and the pork medallions were cooked to perfection. The other three dishes we had were also excellent. I highly recommend everything.

Well, I can't say enough about this hotel, except that it's close to the highway for an overnight stop. We're currently staying at the guesthouse across from the gas station. You have to pay for the room before you see it, and when you see your room, you understand why. Purely 90s, veeery small rooms that apparently had to be decorated very uniquely to earn a star rating. The rooms are so over-furnished that two people can't even move around in them. The foam mattresses are the size of children's beds and completely worn out, the pillow fillings are completely lumpy, and I seriously had to straighten the boards that are supposed to serve as the slatted frame because my mattress was sliding right through to the floor. I don't even know where to stop. This room, including the tiny bathroom, is so awful that it's unparalleled 😵‍💫🫣😱There's even a note on the table in the room apologizing for the unrenovated condition. However, we still had to pay the normal room rate, and a pillow and mattress could still be replaced, and the black mold in the bathroom grout could be removed if the room wasn't completely renovated. The food, in my opinion, isn't worth it; it's a lot of fuss for cold, soggy food from the convection oven. The staff is very friendly, to add another positive aspect to the proximity to the highway, and the breakfast is okay, but due to the number of rooms and RV parking spaces, it's anything but relaxing in the morning. I'm giving it one star solely for the staff and the location for an overnight stay.

We also have a positive review. It's a great location for a stopover, with a gas station right next door and the A5 motorway within easy reach. With two teenage children, the room and beds were a good size, clean, and comfortable. Excellent value for money. Great breakfast and friendly, courteous service included. We can't say much about the town itself, but perhaps the guesthouse with its sauna and steam bath would be worth a longer stay. Freiburg and Colmar are nearby day trips.

The food was good, the accommodations were terrible. If you're taller than 5'11", you shouldn't stay there. The beds are so small your feet stick out. The rooms look better in the photos than they actually are.

We stayed overnight here on our way to Genoa. The location is perfect, right next to the highway—but you couldn't hear it from the room. Late check-in is also possible. There's also a gas station right next door, which is perfect. We had a family room, which was fine. The beds weren't quite as good for me, though, as the mattress was too soft for me personally, and one bed simply had a plate underneath instead of a slatted frame. This could be improved. We stayed overnight here years ago. We'd go back anytime.

It's a shame that when you stop by for a quick coffee, there are no sweet pastries...even at 11:00 a.m. you'd expect one...

In the restaurant, a glass of Fürstenberg beer (0.4 liters) costs €4.50. At the Breisach Wine Festival, Faller charges €5 for a 0.4-liter Fürstenberg in a plastic cup. Please don't argue with stand fees, insurance, staff, and energy costs. €5 for a 0.4-liter beer in a plastic cup at a wine festival is a rip-off and extortionate.

The apartment is very limited in its amenities. Initially, the kitchen only contained two spoons, no other cutlery, no pots or pans, and there is no oven. Cooking utensils are available upon request from the staff – but not all of them. The apartment was also not cleaned upon arrival, so we had to wait a long time for it to be cleaned. Despite the new building, there were already red stains on the walls that hadn't been removed. The apartment is rather small, with a small TV and no streaming options like Netflix. Due to its direct location near the highway, it is also quite noisy. Although the stay is offered for six months for business purposes, this is hardly realistic under the given conditions. Garbage disposal is also inadequate, as the garbage is not fully collected. Overall, the standard of a comfortable apartment is unfortunately not met.

Perfect for a stopover: clean, friendly, very good value for money, and a great restaurant with hot meals until 9 p.m. We'll be back.

This was our 6th stay for a week, or 10 days. Great restaurant, beautiful room, excellent staff and always there for us! We were superbly looked after! We would love to come back!

Excellent transit hotel, simple room and a good breakfast

We stayed here for two nights. We booked a quadruple room and received a connecting room for free. Perfect. The restaurant, with its good menu and friendly service, is also highly recommended.

Stayed overnight and ate there on our way to Italy. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. Wiener schnitzel and venison ragout. 👍🏻

Excellent location, but the good news ends there: cramped rooms, small window overlooking the outside, unacceptable lack of air conditioning. In August 2025 we have gone back seventy years.

This hotel is a great option for those passing through. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. However, we were assigned two rooms in the basement. With an outside temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, the heat in the rooms was unbearable. There was no air conditioning or even a fan. To sleep, we had to open the windows, which caused a lot of outside noise. Furthermore, there was no mosquito netting, which meant we were bothered by insects. Regarding the rooms: the family room had a small bathroom, while the double room, surprisingly, had a spacious one. The vegetarian burgers were no longer available, and as an alternative, we were given a choice of two dishes with chanterelles that were very similar.

We stayed there twice for one night. Everything was great. The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. It's just a shame we live 800 km away, otherwise we would eat there regularly.

Everything was great. I especially recommend the restaurant's cuisine. The food was simply excellent. The service and staff were also super friendly. After our trip to France, we spent one night here before driving home for the second leg. The four-bed rooms are quite small, as is the bathroom. The beds are very soft and the bedding, especially the pillow, is balloon-shaped, making it difficult to sleep on. However, everything is very clean and the bathroom is well-maintained. The restaurant is very good; the food is excellent and the taste is truly delicious. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is sufficient and good.

The Fallerhof is simply fantastic. The staff is incredibly nice; everyone is friendly, helpful, and creates a truly pleasant atmosphere. I was able to do my school internship there for a week and felt completely at home from the very beginning. The food is delicious, freshly prepared, and made with lots of love. You can tell that quality and taste are really important there. Overall, my impression of the Fallerhof was very, very positive. Whether as a guest or, as in my case, as an intern, you simply feel very welcome there. I can only recommend the Fallerhof.

A friendly welcome from Ms. Faller, who was very flexible due to an early arrival. The breakfast is delicious. The clean rooms are practically furnished with a 160 cm wide double bed. The shower has decent water pressure and a good temperature setting. The location near the A5 motorway is ideal for travelers. Nevertheless, I would recommend everyone to explore the Black Forest and perhaps stay an extra night or two. It's worth it. The value for money is excellent. I would stay here again.

For anyone passing through to France (or back). 3 minutes from the highway, functional rooms (small in the main building, modern bathroom) – sufficient for an overnight stay. Good service, friendly, almost family-like atmosphere. Restaurant with a varied menu. Good breakfast. Neighboring gas station. We've used this frequently for 25 years. There are many lovely small inns nearby, but not so close to the highway, often with early closing times, and some without breakfast. Keyword Fallershof: uncomplicated.

I only went to the garden restaurant. It was okay. The waiter was completely overwhelmed. He had all the tables booked and was alone. As a result, everything took quite a while. But he was nice.

This is a rest stop with a hotel and restaurant. We were just passing through and stopped in for a bite to eat. We both had fried pike-perch with the skin on, highly recommended. The skin was crispy and the meat wasn't dry. The chanterelle risotto was delicious. The waiters were friendly and accommodating. We'd be happy to come back.

Not up to the challenge (yet)? Online booking and check-in went smoothly, and even a late arrival was no problem. There are plenty of parking spaces. The room was functional, but visibly dated: dust on visible surfaces, an unpleasant, pungent smell from the drain. A notice about upcoming renovations was posted, but the current condition remains noticeable. The breakfast was fresh, but designed more for a quick turnaround than for atmosphere—overall, everything seemed to be in constant operation. At check-out, I was greeted without a word—no eye contact, no inquiries about my stay, no farewells. Especially with the slogan "Where hospitality is at home," more attention would have been appreciated.

We stayed at the Fallerhof guesthouse for three days. The rooms are very clean but small. I've never had a mattress with angled corners before. This is necessary because the double bed was designed for a corner. Overall, though, the room was OK for two nights. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

The MRSV Frauenfeld chose the Fallerhof as their base for motorcycle tours in the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains: It couldn't be better: beautiful rooms, delicious food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. We'll be back!

The restaurant at the Fallerhof offers excellent regional cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The dishes are fresh and lovingly prepared, and the service is attentive and warm. A beautiful place to enjoy and relax—highly recommended, and we'd love to return!

Unfortunately, disappointing – cleanliness and condition unacceptable We were looking forward to our stay at the property and were aware that it was simple and affordable. Nevertheless, one expects a certain minimum standard from a property described as a "modern apartment" – especially in terms of cleanliness and functionality. We were already disappointed upon arrival: Several outlet covers were missing in the kitchen, which poses an unnecessary safety risk, especially for children traveling with us. The cold water only flowed very weakly from the faucet, the extractor fan was very dirty, and there were cobwebs and spiders in several corners of the apartment. What was particularly unpleasant was that the bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival – there was hair in the sink and shower. Furthermore, the towel rack was loose and the mirror was damaged, causing additional dirt. We reported the defects immediately and also provided photographic evidence. The defects were apparently remedied after our complaint. Unfortunately, our request for a refund for the first night due to the significant disruption was not honored. Overall, we were disappointed with the accommodation. Even at a reasonable price, cleanliness should be a given. Therefore, we would unfortunately not recommend this accommodation. Note: This review refers to the apartment in the holiday home, not the hotel.

If you want to spend your free time in a cramped, dark basement room, this is the place for you. The highlight, however, is the bathroom: moldy grout, loose shower and wall brackets, and moldy faucets/flush fittings on the toilet. The ventilation was also broken – and that's despite the bathroom having no windows. We stayed in the main building.

Waren für 1 Übernachtung mit Frühstück zu Gast (Durchreise mit Fahrrad). Alles war prima und gut. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt würde ich ein etwas größeres Zimmer buchen. Hervorragende Speisekarte war sehr lecker, saisonal angepasst und seeehr freundliches Personal. Konnten sogar unsere Fahrräder in der Tiefgarage abstellen. Gerne wieder! 😃

According to the notice posted, the rooms in the inn will be gradually renovated from autumn 2025. Despite the proximity to the highway, it is very quiet. If you need one or two overnight stays, the hotel is a good starting point 👍🏼

Wie waren hier zum zweiten Mal auf der Rückreise von Süd-/Zentralfrankreich nach Karlsruhe. Beim ersten Mal haben wir es nach Autobahnnähe und Bewertungen im Netz ausgesucht und waren uns beim Parkplatz nicht ganz sicher, ob er zur Tankstelle, zur Autowerkstatt oder zum Restaurant gehört. Die Antwort war dann doch relativ einfach: zu allem drei. Beim zweiten Mal haben wir das Restaurant ganz bewusst wieder angefahren, denn das Essen hatte uns total überrascht, es ist wirklich ausgezeichnet. Die Weinauswahl konnten wir zwar fahrbedingt nicht testen, aber die Weinkarte spricht für sich und für Qualität. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und das Restaurant hat durchgehend warme Küche, was einen Aufenthalt auf der Durchreise natürlich deutlich vereinfacht. Wir werden jedenfalls den Fallerhof immer wieder mal besuchen.

We were here for the second time on the return journey from southern/central France to Karlsruhe. The first time we chose it based on proximity to the motorway and reviews online and we weren't quite sure about the parking lot whether it belonged to a gas station, a car repair shop or a restaurant. The answer was relatively simple: all three. The second time we deliberately went to the restaurant again because the food totally surprised us, it was really excellent. We weren't able to test the wine selection due to travel, but the wine list speaks for itself and for quality. The service is extremely friendly and the restaurant always serves warm food, which of course makes a stay in transit much easier. In any case, we will visit the Fallerhof again and again.

Rooms (apartments) in the new building are clean, spacious and modern. Cutlery and kitchen utensils can be borrowed upon request. The service staff are friendly and helpful. There were occasional difficulties with special requests for food. But basically very tasty. Fallerhof is very close to the motorway but without any noise pollution. It only takes about 20 minutes to get to Freiburg and 3 minutes to the next Rewe.

Due to my training, I'm staying in the new long-stay apartments. The rooms are modern, clean, and very bright. Breakfast and dinner are also excellent. The staff is very friendly and up for a laugh – the boss even offers a beer every now and then. 🤝🏼 Highly recommended!

Rural, family-run hotel with an attached restaurant in a very convenient location to the motorway. The reception was objectively friendly. An ideal overnight hotel for us due to the excellent restaurant. The breakfast was rich and of good quality, with excellent, soft-boiled eggs. We'll be back.

Wir waren anlässlich eines Geburtstages in kleiner Rund eingeladen. Das Essen war recht durchwachsen. Die Steaks waren soweit gut, leider nicht alle gewünschten Garpunkte. Unter frischem Gemüse im Februar stelle ich mir nicht teures Importgemüse (Zucchini, Paprika, Auberginen) vor, sondern einfach mehr Regionalität - was letztendlich auch die Erzeuger unterstützt. Davon abgesehen war das Gemüse mit viel zu viel Öl und ziemlich matschig. Die Kräuterbutter war recht fad, das Kalbsgeschnetzelte leider auch. Auch die Saucen haben nicht überzeugt. Ich persönlich finde auch frische hausgemachte Spätzle sollten nicht braun angebraten auf den Teller kommen. Die Lauchrahmsuppe war sehr lecker, die Brühe von der Flädlesuppe hatte eine extreme Kräuternote, die an eine Mischung aus Thymian, Salbei und Rosmarin erinnerte. Leider nicht unser Geschmack. Die Dame und die beiden Herren, die uns bedient haben, waren freundlich. Die Dame allerdings war sehr laut, als gehe sie davon aus, dass die älteren Menschen am Tisch schwerhörig sind. Gemessen am Preis ist hier noch viel Luft nach oben. Zum Essen würden wir nicht mehr wiederkommen, da gibt es bessere Adressen.

I had booked a double room in the main building for one night. When we arrived we were moved to the guest house without giving any reasons. Very noisy! The room was a disaster (actually 0 stars!)! Far too narrow, a bed mounted in the corner (you can't even imagine that) and a patterned mattress as a seat or whatever. Like a cramped children's room! The bathroom (from the 80s perhaps) and just as narrow. There wasn't even a towel to dry your hands! There were only one large and one small towel on the bed. Unbelievable for 3 stars!!! The TV with a terribly bad picture (very old) Breakfast, let's say, went like this. The coffee didn't work at all, so I drank water. Most of the employees were very friendly, but that's not enough. We will therefore book somewhere else next time. We ate the scary dinner in the event hall. That was a 10 out of 10! We have been guests there many times and have always been satisfied. This time I thought I'd book an overnight stay. Unfortunately that was as described above.
