We ate here again ;-) The portions are very good. A balanced price-performance ratio. We had plaice filet and mussels and can recommend it. I don't see the self-service issue as a problem, what just annoys me is that some employees would rather look holes in the air than clear and clean the vacant tables. But I will still come back again and again.

I had a small snack and mulled wine with sea buckthorn liqueur. It was cozy outside in wintry temperatures thanks to fur layers on the benches. Very friendly service.

We were in Grömitz again this week, this time we ate here three times and every time it tasted delicious and the staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We saw how a family of 8 people, two wheelchair users, came here and the staff reacted immediately and did everything possible to help the guests. Service was also served immediately, which is not part of the service in this restaurant as this is a self-service restaurant. Therefore, full marks from us and thumbs up for the team. Back to the important thing: The food was delicious every time, and the waiting time was also completely fine. Unfortunately, the seats inside are very limited and are very popular for dinner, even outside of the high season! So be patient, or dress warmly and take a seat outside. On cold days, I can personally recommend the Glüh Gin. We'll definitely be happy to be guests in your restaurant again next year.

We have been going on holiday to Grömitz once or twice a year for 24 years now. We eat there several times each time. We have never regretted it. In our opinion the best fish restaurant on site. Everything TOP. The Seegold in the city center - a branch of Falkenthal - also has the most delicious fish sandwiches. The fresh fried fish and the fish rolls are particularly recommended. In Falkenthal itself, everything tastes good!!!!!!!!!

The food was really good. But the best was the staff. Everyone was really nice and welcoming and they spoke good English. On top of that, it's a really nice restaurant where you can buy a Togo sandwich, for example, or you can eat in the restaurant. It lies right down to the water

Oh well. Tried this type of self-service restaurant for the first time. Nothing for our taste. My baked potato was manageably small. Likewise the accompanying portion of crabs. You also had to look for the salmon in the pumpkin soup. Price/performance is not right. The wines weren't really cool and the service at the food counter was extremely unfriendly. You also need 2 people to be able to transport the food at all. The only advantage: lake view

All in all a nice restaurant with good food. “Only” fish is served here. Salmon fillet with noodles was delicious. The fish soup was better in taste and filled with meat. I don't rate service because there is no service.

The service is always nice here and daily specials are recommended. It's not cheap, but it's good quality and always tasty. Nicely furnished, you can sit inside or outside when the weather is good and you have a beautiful view of the beach and sea. When we are in Grömitz we always go there and we can only recommend eating out, even if it's just for a delicious fish sandwich.

I was there right after the Xletix and ordered two fish sandwiches to go and was very impressed. The service was very quick, even though the store was full. The rolls were prepared (cut and spread) and then filled as needed. I had a roll with herring and one with pollack schnitzel. Both tasted really good. Will definitely come back. 👌

Nach der herzlichen Begrüssung durch den Empfang wurden wir direkt zu einem Strandkorb im aussenbereich des Restaurants geführt. Essen und Getränke werden an der Bar bestellt und auch selber abgeholt, Essen war sehr lecker und auch die Portionen war genügend. Keine lange Wartezeit bis zur Ausgabe der Essen.

Wir waren jetzt zum 2. Mal hier essen in der Hoffnung daß es besser geworden ist. Wir bestellten wie letztes Jahr 1x Scholle im Stück und 1x Falkenthal Teller mit 3 Fischsorten und Bratkartoffeln. Das Essen mußten wir selbst abholen wegen fehlendem Service, aber OK ist halt SB Food. Leider war die Scholle frittiert und nicht gebraten. Sie schmeckte stark nach Öl. Mein Fischteller war ganz OK bis auf die Bratkartoffeln sie schwammen in öl, waren nicht genießbar. Wenn man mit frischem Fisch wirbt, dann sollte der Koch wenigstens wissen wie man ihn zubereitet. Unser Fazit nach dem 2. Besuch... es gibt keinen mehr!☹️ Ich habe mal als 4. Foto eine Scholle vom Restaurant Seestern in Heiligenhafen beigefügt... so sollte ein Scholle aussehen.

A good self-service restaurant with good, maritime food at fair prices. We would rather eat here than be served worse food elsewhere. Our insider tip is the trio with matjes. We are always greeted warmly here and find the staff friendly and attentive. Even if that doesn't matter that much with a self-service concept.

Were here twice this weekend and despite the high volume, the staff was always friendly and accommodating. The food was great, a great price-performance ratio! Stay as great as you are!

Our first visit to Falkenthal! Super nice atmosphere, outside with a view of the sea, unfortunately you can't reserve a table :( the service at the tables is very friendly! The self-service concept was new for us and as we were faced with a very unsympathetic and very toxic cashier when we placed our food order encountered, 2 points deducted! We even considered going back, some people would be better off not having customer contact. But the recommendation and the hunger for fish gave us a delicious bouillabaisse and the daily special "sea bass" was also excellent.

Wir waren jetzt mehrfach als Paar und mit Freunden zu unterschiedlichen Jahreszeiten im Falkenthal und immer absolut zufrieden gewesen. Essen war immer sehr gut, vorallem die Tagesempfehlungen ( Viertel Stern Abzug für die Riesengarnelen, die sind wirklich immer 5 Min zu lange auf dem Grill ). Herausheben möchte ich hier den "Empfangschef", selbst im größten Stress immer ruhig und freundlich, und das ist sicherlich manchmal garnicht so einfach in der Hauptsaison. Wir werden weiterhin regelmäßig kommen, Danke an das ganze Team

We walked along the beach from Biesdorf and were now hungry, a fish sandwich for around 4.50 euros and other dishes looked very good. Prices were okay, normal drinks also goodies, champagne Aperol etc. of course more but otherwise great quick service and seats were also available.

We've never been there because we don't like fish, but the Koberer is great.

Everything was great except for self-service

The restaurant is very nicely decorated so that there is an appealing ambience. The service is rather modest and for certain people it becomes more and more accommodating, for others it is completely self-service. The food is good, but not very good for the price. Therefore only 4 out of 5 stars.

We were there for the third time today (vacation) and we can only recommend this restaurant. The service is very good 👍 the employees are very friendly and helpful. Even if a guest doesn't really like the place, everything is made possible to find a better one. I haven't experienced that yet. The food was very good and the way it was prepared left you wanting more. Dear operators, no matter what your employees earn, a wage increase is due in the new year. Very good food, prices moderate. Atmosphere is quite restless, plan to wait for a table. Food is prepared quickly.

Food and ambience is awesome. But you have to eat with at least one second person so that they can keep the table free. As a solo traveler, I tried it twice and each time the table was occupied before I could even order my food. Unfortunately I can't share. Maybe it would be possible to do something about the service for solo travelers so that they have the opportunity to eat with you.

Super nice view and great little huts to sit on the terrace. But it would be nice if there was a ban on smoking inside these huts. There were smokers sitting in front of us and the whole hut smelled. Unfortunately, even ordering the food isn't so nice. It's okay that it's self-service. But if I have to wait in long lines twice for food and drinks because the areas are separated, my mood is bad. This is extremely poorly regulated. But the staff was very friendly. We had the fish and chips and were extremely disappointed. The fries were extremely dry and barely seasoned. The fish was juicy, but quite tasteless. The tartar sauce was nothing special. We would come back just to drink.

To be honest: Even after repeated visits, the food on the menu doesn't convince me, especially. a. Soups, salads, sauces are rather weak. Then why 5 stars anyway? 1. Smoked fish: eel, mackerel, salmon, herring, halibut - straight from the factory and "fresh" at the counter. 2. Fresh fish of the day, e.g. E.g. sole, red snapper, monkfish, sea bass, from the display. 3. The team: everyone is in a sensationally good mood, from the admission manager, counter staff, service staff... really warm atmosphere.

We live in the area and often went to Grömitz to eat at Falkenthal's. So we can assess what developments are like on site... increasingly disappointed with the whole thing. The food: little for a lot of price increase Price/performance: Mediocre, no longer unique. There is otherwise an employee at the reception in front of the door who is actually the heart of the store and the real boss. Everything lives through him. Everyone knows him, everyone likes to come back, everyone feels like family with him. (We assume the "boss" may not have realized this) When he's not there like today, things go haywire. The shop seems chaotic, the shop is untidy, the shop feeds off tourists who cannot assess what is going on. The pickle season for gastronomy in winter is yet to come.

We were at Falkenthal today and didn't think it was nice at all. It was very full and we were waiting with several people in front of the restaurant. An employee said to wait as soon as something was free you could sit down there a recommendation of what would be particularly tasty today. After waiting, we were assigned a table. If I didn't know, you would think you were in a star restaurant. But no... self-service! So now to the food. Baked fish with fried potatoes, tartar sauce and cucumber salad. Baked fish one smooth6, dry and not to be enjoyed (zero seasoning). Fried potatoes a 3, cucumber salad 6. After an employee cleared the plate and asked if it had tasted good, we said no, fish would have been very dry otherwise it was fine so he took the plate and turned it around um and said out loud Wonderful. We'll never go to Falkenthal again, we felt like we were on the Reeperbahn ... with a bouncer who was making an unpleasant noise about handing out the guests. Oh yes, one more thing. He went into the restaurant every now and then and took something with him He took a large fish out of the refrigerated counter with his hands (without gloves) and showed it to a customer. He then put it back there (no handwashing). We'll never be back!

We always enjoy coming here. It always feels like a bit of a vacation. The stremella salmon with warm potato salad is the best. Definitely try it! The service is always super nice, even though it's self-service and the staff just clears away.

Wir wollten gestern im Falkenthal essen. Als wir dort ankamen, stand schon ein anderes Paar und wartete auf eine Tischzuweisung. Also warteten wir zusammen. Dann kam ein anderes Paar auch ohne Reservierung und offensichtlich kannten die den Kellner. Innerhalb von 2 Minuten haben sie einen Tisch bekommen und wir standen immer noch da. Wir sind sofort gegangen, denn ich finde diese Vorgehensweise unmöglich. Wir werden dort nie wieder essen gehen und das Likal auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Es ist zwar ziemlich nervig, dass man hier keinen Tisch vor reservieren kann und dann in einer Schlange vor dem Lokal steht, bis man dann irgendwann Glück hat, auch einen Tisch zu bekommen, aber wenn man einen guten Tisch bekommen hat, so wie man sich ihn vorstellt, hat man wirklich Glück gehabt. Es ist im Grunde Das gleiche Prinzip wie bei Gosch. Man holt sich seine Getränke und bestellt an der Theke. Sein Essen bekommt ein Pieper mit und holt es sich dann selber wieder ab. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist für diese Gegend akzeptabel. Wir können uns was die Qualität des Essens angeht, überhaupt nicht beklagen, denn es war wirklich sehr schmackhaft und sehr sehr lecker. Leider hat vor dem Lokal ein Musiker gestanden und extrem laut gesungen, was das Ambiente ein bisschen schmälert. Der Platz Einweiser war zwar sehr höflich, aber das ist wahrscheinlich auch seine Masche. Wir würden aber wieder hier hinkommen.

Bevor wir zum Essen gekommen sind,mussten wir auf einen Tisch(4 Personen) anstehen. Ich wurde von einer Person (Bedienung) angesprochen,ob ich einen Tisch benötige .Ich antwortete,ja für 4 Personen. Die Antwort des Personals ,wenn Du 10€ auf den Tisch legst,brauchst Du nicht anzustehen . Wir haben davon abgesehen,da so was ja wohl überhaupt nicht geht. Wir haben dann generell davon abgesehen in so einem korrupten Lokal zu Essen. So sollte auch jeder denken und so ein Lokal meiden.

Leider hat das Restaurant an Qualität des Essens und an der Gastfreundschaft nach dem Inhaberwechsel massiv eingebüßt. Der Dorsch war sehr trocken und die Bratkartoffeln nur verkocht und nicht angebraten. Zudem war die Soße sehr flüssig und hat sich vom Fett getrennt. Auf die freundliche Nachfrage ob man neue Bratkartoffeln bekommen kann, wurde man leider völlig unverschämt und unfreundlich vom Geschäftsführer angeschnauzt mit der Aussage das Essen wäre top und man soll nicht das ganze Essen schlecht reden. Leider nicht mehr zu empfehlen.

In einem Touristenort in der Hochsaison gibt es um 20:15 Uhr nichts mehr zu Essen! Anscheinend hat man es hier nicht nötig, Geld zu verdienen.
