Falkenthal Seafood – Restaurant Kurpromenade in Grömitz

We were there on the weekend, of course it was full, that's just how it is on a Saturday. The portions were sufficient and I enjoyed my food. Unfortunately, the fries ordered for the child were greasy and cold. Unfortunately, the complaint led to a discussion - the fries couldn't be cold... Please? Just touch them instead of explaining to the customer that they couldn't be cold. I've never experienced anything like that before. In winter, our clear recommendation is to sit far away from the window front, otherwise it will be cold. And …. Unfortunately, my clothes smelled like snacks after the visit It's a shame, the location is very nice, most of the employees were quite nice, but this unnecessary discussion coupled with the lingering snack smell made me deduct points.

We always enjoy going there because everything is just right: food, service, ambience and the prices. The portions will fill you up a lot, it's always fresh and delicious!!! The staff are always friendly and very attentive and accommodating. One of my favorite restaurants!

It's quite annoying that you can't reserve a table here and then stand in a queue in front of the restaurant until you're lucky enough to get a table, but if you get a good table, feel free If you introduce him, you've really been lucky. It's basically the same principle as Gosch. You get your drinks and order at the counter. A beeper picks up his food and then picks it up again. Value for money is acceptable for this area. We can't complain at all about the quality of the food, as it was really tasty and very tasty. Unfortunately, a musician stood in front of the restaurant and sang extremely loudly, which detracts from the ambience a bit. The usher was very polite, but that's probably his trick. But we would come here again.

Delicious fish in a rustic, modern atmosphere, prices reasonable

We had the backfish burger 3 times. First the good. Salad was fresh and tasty, the fries were crispy and hot. But the brioche was completely burnt and the fried fish could hardly be found on the already small brioche. It looked more like a piece of kibbeling with a little bit of tartar sauce. The service was attentive and the ambience is really nice. Unfortunately the backfish burger was a failure. But we will try again.

The food selection was very non-transparent. There were two different day cards on the table. The usher had offered me rump steak and prawns, which weren't on any of the daily menus, but I ordered them anyway. I got a rump steak, but it was really good in terms of quality and preparation. My wife had ordered a sea bream, which unfortunately wasn't there anymore, but there was sea bass, but that was clearly communicated in advance and was also very good. Overall: Food really good, service concept can still be significantly optimized, but we would be happy to come back.

The food is very good but in winter it is quite cold as the entrance gate is permanently open. Since it is not possible to reserve a table, you should be prepared for longer waiting times in the evening.

We called specifically to reserve a table because we liked it there on our last visit to Grömitz. The reservation request was grandly dismissed: it wasn't necessary; no one would be turned away hungry or go home. When we asked because we had to travel some time: no, that wasn't necessary. Ha-Ha, After 25 minutes of arrival and an extra parking ticket, we were turned away and told to wait in front of the door in a queue of about 25 people in 4 degrees and drizzle - no thanks. If we had been told beforehand that reservations weren't being accepted: OK. But this store won't see us like that again, luckily there are plenty of others.

We have been coming to Falkenthal for years 👍We have never been disappointed. There's nothing wrong with the taste or the price. And no matter who it is, it's a really nice team 🤗Even if you can't make a reservation, you just have to wait a little bit, but usually not for long.

The food is very good and high quality, the staff is super friendly, but I deducted a point because of the self-service. Tables are cleared but you have to get the food yourself like in a canteen and that doesn't quite match the prices

We ate here again ;-) The portions are very good. A balanced price-performance ratio. We had plaice filet and mussels and can recommend it. I don't see the self-service issue as a problem, what just annoys me is that some employees would rather look holes in the air than clear and clean the vacant tables. But I will still come back again and again.

I had a small snack and mulled wine with sea buckthorn liqueur. It was cozy outside in wintry temperatures thanks to fur layers on the benches. Very friendly service.

The “place to be” when it comes to the tastiest fish dishes! In addition to a large selection of culinary highlights and fine drinks, it is a restaurant that makes you feel good. The staff is courteous, always helpful and there is almost a family atmosphere. A 100% recommendation and all the stars there are for Falkenthal Seafood Grömitz and the team around it.

Changing freshness: Last week, excellent eel roll, completely fresh eel, generously topped. Today: musty, tough eel in a bun, with stingy toppings. The suspicion arises that it was the same eel now in the winter season...

We were in Grömitz again this week, this time we ate here three times and every time it tasted delicious and the staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We saw how a family of 8 people, two wheelchair users, came here and the staff reacted immediately and did everything possible to help the guests. Service was also served immediately, which is not part of the service in this restaurant as this is a self-service restaurant. Therefore, full marks from us and thumbs up for the team. Back to the important thing: The food was delicious every time, and the waiting time was also completely fine. Unfortunately, the seats inside are very limited and are very popular for dinner, even outside of the high season! So be patient, or dress warmly and take a seat outside. On cold days, I can personally recommend the Glüh Gin. We'll definitely be happy to be guests in your restaurant again next year.

Self-service restaurant with a large selection of fresh fish.

We have been going on holiday to Grömitz once or twice a year for 24 years now. We eat there several times each time. We have never regretted it. In our opinion the best fish restaurant on site. Everything TOP. The Seegold in the city center - a branch of Falkenthal - also has the most delicious fish sandwiches. The fresh fried fish and the fish rolls are particularly recommended. In Falkenthal itself, everything tastes good!!!!!!!!!

The food was really good. But the best was the staff. Everyone was really nice and welcoming and they spoke good English. On top of that, it's a really nice restaurant where you can buy a Togo sandwich, for example, or you can eat in the restaurant. It lies right down to the water

Oh well. Tried this type of self-service restaurant for the first time. Nothing for our taste. My baked potato was manageably small. Likewise the accompanying portion of crabs. You also had to look for the salmon in the pumpkin soup. Price/performance is not right. The wines weren't really cool and the service at the food counter was extremely unfriendly. You also need 2 people to be able to transport the food at all. The only advantage: lake view

All in all a nice restaurant with good food. “Only” fish is served here. Salmon fillet with noodles was delicious. The fish soup was better in taste and filled with meat. I don't rate service because there is no service.

The service is always nice here and daily specials are recommended. It's not cheap, but it's good quality and always tasty. Nicely furnished, you can sit inside or outside when the weather is good and you have a beautiful view of the beach and sea. When we are in Grömitz we always go there and we can only recommend eating out, even if it's just for a delicious fish sandwich.

I was there right after the Xletix and ordered two fish sandwiches to go and was very impressed. The service was very quick, even though the store was full. The rolls were prepared (cut and spread) and then filled as needed. I had a roll with herring and one with pollack schnitzel. Both tasted really good. Will definitely come back. 👌

Wir waren jetzt zum 2. Mal hier essen in der Hoffnung daß es besser geworden ist. Wir bestellten wie letztes Jahr 1x Scholle im Stück und 1x Falkenthal Teller mit 3 Fischsorten und Bratkartoffeln. Das Essen mußten wir selbst abholen wegen fehlendem Service, aber OK ist halt SB Food. Leider war die Scholle frittiert und nicht gebraten. Sie schmeckte stark nach Öl. Mein Fischteller war ganz OK bis auf die Bratkartoffeln sie schwammen in öl, waren nicht genießbar. Wenn man mit frischem Fisch wirbt, dann sollte der Koch wenigstens wissen wie man ihn zubereitet. Unser Fazit nach dem 2. Besuch... es gibt keinen mehr!☹️ Ich habe mal als 4. Foto eine Scholle vom Restaurant Seestern in Heiligenhafen beigefügt... so sollte ein Scholle aussehen.

Nach der herzlichen Begrüssung durch den Empfang wurden wir direkt zu einem Strandkorb im aussenbereich des Restaurants geführt. Essen und Getränke werden an der Bar bestellt und auch selber abgeholt, Essen war sehr lecker und auch die Portionen war genügend. Keine lange Wartezeit bis zur Ausgabe der Essen.

A good self-service restaurant with good, maritime food at fair prices. We would rather eat here than be served worse food elsewhere. Our insider tip is the trio with matjes. We are always greeted warmly here and find the staff friendly and attentive. Even if that doesn't matter that much with a self-service concept.

Were here twice this weekend and despite the high volume, the staff was always friendly and accommodating. The food was great, a great price-performance ratio! Stay as great as you are!

Our first visit to Falkenthal! Super nice atmosphere, outside with a view of the sea, unfortunately you can't reserve a table :( the service at the tables is very friendly! The self-service concept was new for us and as we were faced with a very unsympathetic and very toxic cashier when we placed our food order encountered, 2 points deducted! We even considered going back, some people would be better off not having customer contact. But the recommendation and the hunger for fish gave us a delicious bouillabaisse and the daily special "sea bass" was also excellent.

Wir waren jetzt mehrfach als Paar und mit Freunden zu unterschiedlichen Jahreszeiten im Falkenthal und immer absolut zufrieden gewesen. Essen war immer sehr gut, vorallem die Tagesempfehlungen ( Viertel Stern Abzug für die Riesengarnelen, die sind wirklich immer 5 Min zu lange auf dem Grill ). Herausheben möchte ich hier den "Empfangschef", selbst im größten Stress immer ruhig und freundlich, und das ist sicherlich manchmal garnicht so einfach in der Hauptsaison. Wir werden weiterhin regelmäßig kommen, Danke an das ganze Team

We walked along the beach from Biesdorf and were now hungry, a fish sandwich for around 4.50 euros and other dishes looked very good. Prices were okay, normal drinks also goodies, champagne Aperol etc. of course more but otherwise great quick service and seats were also available.

We've never been there because we don't like fish, but the Koberer is great.

No longer has that typical restaurant character, it is more self-service. A few years ago it was more comfortable. The food remained at the same good level. It is really very tasty. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right.

We were there for the third time today (vacation) and we can only recommend this restaurant. The service is very good 👍 the employees are very friendly and helpful. Even if a guest doesn't really like the place, everything is made possible to find a better one. I haven't experienced that yet. The food was very good and the way it was prepared left you wanting more. Dear operators, no matter what your employees earn, a wage increase is due in the new year. Food and ambience is awesome. But you have to eat with at least one second person so that they can keep the table free. As a solo traveler, I tried it twice and each time the table was occupied before I could even order my food. Unfortunately I can't share. Maybe it would be possible to do something about the service for solo travelers so that they have the opportunity to eat with you.

Super nice view and great little huts to sit on the terrace. But it would be nice if there was a ban on smoking inside these huts. There were smokers sitting in front of us and the whole hut smelled. Unfortunately, even ordering the food isn't so nice. It's okay that it's self-service. But if I have to wait in long lines twice for food and drinks because the areas are separated, my mood is bad. This is extremely poorly regulated. But the staff was very friendly. We had the fish and chips and were extremely disappointed. The fries were extremely dry and barely seasoned. The fish was juicy, but quite tasteless. The tartar sauce was nothing special. We would come back just to drink.

Nice shop with very tasty fresh food on the promenade in Grömitz 👍We had the oysters, the Falkenthal fish plate and the Buillabaisse from Baltic Sea fish 😍simply delicious and highly recommended with 2 roses to wash it down 😉

To be honest: Even after repeated visits, the food on the menu doesn't convince me, especially. a. Soups, salads, sauces are rather weak. Then why 5 stars anyway? 1. Smoked fish: eel, mackerel, salmon, herring, halibut - straight from the factory and "fresh" at the counter. 2. Fresh fish of the day, e.g. E.g. sole, red snapper, monkfish, sea bass, from the display. 3. The team: everyone is in a sensationally good mood, from the admission manager, counter staff, service staff... really warm atmosphere.

We live in the area and often went to Grömitz to eat at Falkenthal's. So we can assess what developments are like on site... increasingly disappointed with the whole thing. The food: little for a lot of price increase Price/performance: Mediocre, no longer unique. There is otherwise an employee at the reception in front of the door who is actually the heart of the store and the real boss. Everything lives through him. Everyone knows him, everyone likes to come back, everyone feels like family with him. (We assume the "boss" may not have realized this) When he's not there like today, things go haywire. The shop seems chaotic, the shop is untidy, the shop feeds off tourists who cannot assess what is going on. The pickle season for gastronomy in winter is yet to come.

Fried fish was delicious...could have been a little crispier for me...a matter of taste...😉...service very friendly despite the stress...feel-good atmosphere...
