The food, lots of staff & ambience were pretty good. However, when I entered the children's play area I was shocked. A relatively small room (with a very nice "indoor playground cage)" with extremely bad air. I didn't notice any ventilation and the windows were closed (not accessible). The room looked like a smoking island, dark & ​​musty. Since Espitas has a lot of space, I would support a redesign of the play area.

Had a spontaneous meal there today after a long time. Very child-friendly, great staff, food was good and the rice pudding was delicious.

We were 7 adults and 1 child for a small celebration last Friday at the super buffet. Here you can actually find everything you would find in Mexico. Steak fans in particular will get their money's worth. But fish, shrimp and lots of desserts are also offered. The service with the drinks was very good and quick. We also received good advice here. There is a nice play area for children. It was a very beautiful evening. Thanks.

On Sunday, like many years before, we were at Espitas as a big trade fair conclusion. ACTUALLY they always had a buffet in the evening on Sundays, which was really great. When I made my reservation I didn't see (or they changed it afterwards) that this year there is no longer a buffet on Sundays but only a la carte. That was a bummer, but it still could have been nice if the service hadn't been so unbelievably bad. Three of our group had the wrong time in mind (7:30 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m.) so they were there too early. But it wasn't a problem because more than half the restaurant was empty anyway. So they sat down and ordered drinks that weren't there until we arrived... an hour later! And so it went on the whole time. We were constantly ignored, didn't get a menu for ages, and drinks then had to be reordered because the receipt was supposedly lost. Ordered food and nothing came for over an hour. We continued to be ignored until someone in our group flagged down a waiter and said “oh oops, sorry, the meal voucher was lost”. Then I got a little more grumpy because... seriously? Losing your receipt can happen. But from the same table twice and then just completely ignoring the fact that nine people are sitting there for hours without eating?? The waiter then offered that “drinks are on the house.” That calmed us down and then the food came... about half an hour later or something? What strikes me right now... he hasn't re-recorded our food order. I thought the receipt was lost...? Anyways. Food was good, but a little too salty even for me. (and I actually like it salty) Half of us then each ordered a drink. Overall, we were probably there until a quarter to eleven or something? (Espitas actually closes at 10 p.m., but if we don't get our food until just before ten, no...) When paying, it suddenly said “No no, only the drinks from the one lost round don’t have to be paid for”. So, for example, I paid for my drink in full because I came later and mine wasn't on the lost receipt. So in the end there is no excuse for the endless waiting and the “lost vouchers”. There were 3 waiters there (two guys, one girl) and there were a maximum of 8 tables occupied. We were the largest group with 9 people. And they just couldn't do it. It was really unbelievable. And then they also claim that it's so busy and stressful, that's why everything takes longer and that's why the receipts are lost. In general, there was never a single apology. Just flimsy excuses. And in addition, the waiter sneaked a tip of over one euro from us because he didn't have any cent coins and always rounded up nicely for service that absolutely no one in the store provided. That was the last time I ate at Espitas, which is a real shame because I had good memories of the last few years. But Sunday evening just ruined everything with this unapologetic incompetence.

We are, or were, regular guests at Espitas. Every year after the book fair, the restaurant was our highlight to celebrate together. But unfortunately everything went wrong this year. Our first drink order didn't arrive for over an hour - receipt was lost. The same game with eating. Long waiting time due to a lost receipt. Finally, when the group's mood reached its lowest point due to an acute growling stomach, there was something like an apology and an offer to cover the drinks as compensation. We gladly accepted this. After 2.5 hours of waiting, the (slightly salty) food finally arrived. And in the end it turned out that the drinks were not to be taken over completely. 🙃 Which was a bit of a stingy move considering the enormous delays. All in all a very disappointing experience. I'm not a complainer by God, but that was completely unacceptable. How you can lose your receipt twice is simply a mystery to me. 😅

Very nice restaurant, clean, perfect atmosphere. Unfortunately, we and our neighboring table had to wait over an hour for our food... it was due to a lack of staff, but it could still have been avoided, especially since there were still a few guests when we entered the restaurant. For the inconvenience, we at both tables were given the excuse that it was just being served, it would start immediately... No drinks taken over or other attention, as is actually usual. What a shame! But the food was tasty and not cold after a while. Just too over-seasoned, even for Mexican.

Went there for brunch today. We are completely thrilled and more than satisfied. Large parking lot, great ambience, very friendly and fast service, a buffet that leaves nothing to be desired and an exceptional drinks menu with the very best gin. We would particularly like to highlight the charging stations where you can charge for free during your stay. We will definitely come back and would be happy to recommend it.

Es sollte eine kleine Geburtstagsnachfeier meiner Schwiegertochter sein. Getränke kamen schnell und dann war wohl Pause. Nach 50 Minuten konnten wir endlich etwas zu Essen bestellen, obwohl der Laden nicht so doll besucht war, bzw. nicht mal zu einem Drittel gefüllt war. Die Vorspeise kam erstaunlich schnell. Ich hatte frittierte Scampi. Die waren tot frittiert. Der dazu angepriesene Dip wurde vergessen . Wieder Pause. Die lehren Gläser und die Teller der Vorspeise haben wir nach ca. 45min. selbst auf den Nachbartisch gestellt. Unterirdisch und katastrophal. Eine Stunde nach Bestellung haben wir das bisher verzehrte bezahlt und sind gegangen.

Es war für unser Geburtstagskind ansprechend geschmückt bzw dekoriert.Ein kleines Törtchen mit Kerze, sehr zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter und eine nette Bedienung ließen für uns den Geburtstag perfekt werden.Dankeschön...Wir kommen gewiss wieder.

I have no idea what the food is like. Ordered an hour ago and haven't received anything yet.

Unfortunately, the evening buffet was a total failure for us. Most of the options at the buffet were permanently empty and there weren't enough plates. The plates were often dirty. The corn tacos at the taco station were already old and the dirt from the grill was scraped off and put into the taco. A vegan dish could be ordered from the menu, but the full buffet price had to be paid. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The drinks were good too. But for the price it's just not worth it.

The food is quite tasty and a good portion size. The ambience, space, and commitment to a whimsical + memorable vibe is really awesome, makes it unique compared to any other restaurant in Saxony, let alone Leipzig. But the service is painfully slow. It is for this reason only why I would hesitate returning, despite the delicious food. It took 15-20 minutes to even receive a food menu - I am not sure why they don't just the food menu on the table like they leave the drink menu there. It took another 20 minutes to flag our server so we could pay. We were begging to give our money and leave at this point because it was over 2 hours for a dinner between two people. I cannot imagine what it is like for large groups to eat there. The server was mediocre in service — not rude, but also not particularly friendly or that polite either, nor acknowledged the long wait times. I did try to leave tip. Therefore, I think this is a fair rating. Good food and a memorable/fantastical vibe, but you should budget a lot of time to eat here.

A very nicely decorated restaurant. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The buffet was very attractively set up. Unfortunately I didn't find much that I personally liked. Probably had the wrong idea about Mexican food. The €28 per person was too much for me. I would still recommend it. It was an experience but it will stay that way.

I was here with my colleagues from work. The service is in high level, very friendly personal. The food was tasty, atmosphere very pleasant. Would definitely come again.

We eat here regularly. Espitas has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for a while now. I always eat pulled pork quesadillas as a starter and pulled pork tacos as my main course and I'm super happy with them. Unfortunately, the last time the pulled pork was extremely spicy, which I wasn't familiar with. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it because it got too spicy for me. Has the recipe changed? I personally find that stupid. 🙈 Otherwise I'm always extremely satisfied. We'll still come back. Very best regards

The service is hardworking and friendly. But it's not easy with this crowd. The buffet quickly emptied and there was a long wait for drinks.

You can eat really well here, the buffet is well stocked, you can especially notice something special in the dips and sauces. The staff is very friendly. Fine fitting Mexican music and made me want drinks. The drinks were originally prepared. I'd love to come back because it's worth the trip. You think you've been on vacation for a short time. A large parking lot is available and you can get there very easily using public transport. Today I was here again and we ate ala card. There was something for everyone and everything was very fresh and delicious. Really really good.

Had dinner alone in this restaurant this evening. I don't have a bad word to say. The new waiter first introduced himself and then gave reliable and experienced advice about the house specialties. Wir wollten einen schönen Abend verbringen. Leider war er uns nicht gegönnt. Wir hatten für 18.30 in Leipzig bestellt. Die Bestellung aufzunehmen ging super schnell. Leider hatten wir nach 40 Minuten immer noch kein Essen. Andere Gäste die später kamen aßen schon. Wir sind dann ohne Essen gefangen. Dabei war das Restaurant noch nicht mal voll. Schade. Es wird immer schlechter zumal das Essen immer teurer wird.

We have ordered there 3 times. The first time everything was ok, the second time the sauces were mixed up, that can happen, the third time was a joke. A thimble full of sauce for the savings and after 5 phone calls to clarify the matter, all that was left was to put off and shift the responsibility onto a different person! The service is ridiculous and absolutely not recommended, especially not at the price!

The Espitas is a restaurant that impresses with a wonderful atmosphere and an extremely pleasant overall atmosphere. Vanessa deserves special praise, as she served us excellently. Despite the high volume of activity in the restaurant, she made sure that our every wish was fulfilled. The food was not only extremely tasty, but was also on our table in no time. I like the concept of Espitas, but only at the buffet times, à la carte, the portions are far too small for me. But I still like to go there, but only for the buffet. Reservation is then required! Very big disadvantage: long waiting times for drinks. I'm still going back.

Delicious Friday evening buffet with great savings

For us it was a successful meal. With 11 people, the service was great, friendly and quick. We all enjoyed the food very much and there were good portions for which we didn't have to wait long despite the starters.

We were there with a larger group and had a great evening with delicious food in a great atmosphere! We were thoroughly impressed. I had the Soft Tacos Pulpo&shrimp and can recommend the coriander mayo with it! The margaritas and other cocktails were also delicious. The girls from the service are worth highlighting👌

Wir waren als Familie im Espitas und hatten Burritos, Chimichangas, Tacos und eine BBQ Burrito Bowl. Alles mehr als ausreichend. Geschmacklich war die Bowl zu BBQ lustig und das Chili con Carne etwas zu salzig.

Zum ersten Mal hier gewesen und begeistert. Das Essen super und die Auswahl hat einen förmlich erschlagen. Einziger Kritikpunkt. Die Couch sind nicht fest am Boden verankert, jedes Mal wenn die hinter uns aufgestanden sind, wurden wir näher samt unserer Sitz Couch an unseren Tisch geschoben.....

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Das lohnt auf jeden Fall einen Besuch. Nur haben wir ewig auf unser Essen gewartet. Während unsere Tochter schon den Nachtisch bekam, warteten wir seit über einer Stunde auf unser Hauptgericht. Aber das ist dort sicher nicht der Standard. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.

Sehr schöner Laden. Wir waren Freitag Abend zum Buffet da. Super organisiert und sehr leckeres Essen. Das Restaurant hat einen eigenen, großen Parkplatz, der war leider komplett überfüllt und wir mussten "wild" parken.

Zum Buffet gezwungen, obwohl im Internet steht, dass man auch a la carte essen kann. Teller wurden nicht abgeräumt. Ansonsten ein schöner Abend.

Wir waren heute Abend zum Buffet da. Reservierung und Anfahrt haben super geklappt, der große Parkplatz war (trotz hoher Belegung) gut zum parken. Man könnte nur im Winter ggf. die Einfahrt besser beleuchten. Der Service war freundlich, allerdings auch spürbar etwas gestresst. Zum Essen muss ich ehrlicherweise sagen, dass ich etwas enttäuscht war. Es kann natürlich am Buffet gelegen haben, aber mein Eindruck war eher „Covinience“ und wenig authentisches Essen. Es gab zwar reichlich Fleisch, dieses war aber kaum mariniert, man musste es sich eher mit Saucen selbst marinieren. Auch war die Würzung insgesamt etwas fad und ließ vor allem Säure und Schärfe vermissen. Auch wenn ich gut fand, dass es viel Auswahl gab, so war es wenig mexikanisch. Mein Tipp: mehr Limettensaft im Essen und statt des Edamer, Feta und Camembert vielleicht Cotija oder Oaxaca Käse. Auch frischer Koriander gehört für mich einfach dazu. Für extra Punkte vielleicht eine „Bau-dir-deine-Nacho“ (oder Taco) Station mit der man sich selbst Nacho überbacken kann. So leider nur 3 Sterne. Preis war für die Menge ok, man wird satt, etwas besonderes würde ich nicht erwarten.

Essen war Standard und nix besonderes. Der Service war eine Katastrophe, die Teller wurden nicht abgeräumt...Keiner frage nach Getränken. Die servicekräfte standen an der Theke und hielten einen Plausch, aber überall waren die Getränke leer und man sah an den Tischen sehr wenige vom Personal. Wir haben an einem Samstag reserviert, Im Internet sowie bei der Reservierung stand das wir an diesem Tag von der Karte bestellen können oder eben Buffet essen können. Als wir ankamen, gab es die Option von der Karte zu bestellen urplötzlich nicht mehr, sodass wir gezwungen waren vom Buffet zu essen was aber leider keine knapp 25 Euro wert war. Wir werden nicht wieder kommen. Denn es war einfach ringsrum nicht das was einen schönen abend beim Mexikaner ausmacht.

Es war einfach kalt. Alle haben gefroren und es war somit ungemütlich. Der Service war auch sehr reserviert im Umgang. Das Essen war für mich eher Standard als besonders hervorzuheben. Die location an sich ist ja optisch gut, nur bei der Kälte einfache nicht angenehm um dort zu sitzen. Im Winter ist das ESPITAS nicht zu empfehlen......

Wir waren samstags zum Grillbuffet da. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend gewesen. Das Ambiente ist mal was anderes, für den Moment atemberaubendes: man fühlte sich kurz wie im Urlaub. Leider war das Essensangebot eher so lala. Liegt wahrscheinlich daran, da hier auf Masse zubereitet wurde. Ich denke wenn man außerhalb der Buffetzeiten isst, ist die Qualität besser. Mit einem Preis von 27,49 ohne Getränke okay. Die Getränke finde ich nur teuer. Der Milchshake war kaum mit dem Pappstrohhalm trinkbar.

Diese enttäuschende Erfahrung war dann für mich das letzte Mal, dass ich der Gastro ne Chance gegeben hab. 50€ für labbrige, wirklich nicht leckere Tacos und zwei mittelmäßige Chimchangas. Dazu noch lächerlich kleine Portionen. Nie wieder.

Wir waren heute dort. Es ist eine Wunderschöne Kullise. Nur leider war es so das wir Verdorbenes Essen zu uns genommen haben. Man hat es schnell runter gespielt. Der Koch der immer erklärte was man vor sich hat ist einfach Spitze Erklärt super und war jeder Zeit sehr Freundlich. Gut fand ich auch das es normales Essen für die Kids gab. Schade war die Bedienung. So regte man sich vor Kundschaft über die Kollegin auf welches das Besteck vergessen hat. Oder es wird die ganze zeit ein genervtes Gesicht gezogen. Auch wir es nicht schön das man 3 mal nach der Rechnung fragen musste und da 30 min. Auf eine Reaktion. Ich weiß nicht ob wir wieder kommen .

Wir waren gestern mal wieder hier Essen. Machen das mindestens 2 mal im Jahr. Und kommen so gerne hier her. Wir hatten gestern die Grillplatte für 2 Personen (die definitiv auch für 3 gereicht hätte 😅) das Essen war wieder ein Traum! Auch die Bedienung/ der Kellner war sehr freundlich. Für die Kinder gibt es auch genug Beschäftigung 😊

Wir hatten einen kleinen Tisch und auf Nachfrage einen anderen Tisch zu bekommen obwohl einiges frei war,wurde erst längere Zeit geklärt ob wir woanders sitzen können. Als wir dann einen Neuen größeren Platz hatten ging das warten wieder los. Selbst nach zweimaligem Fragen wurden wir nicht weiter bedient,erst beim dritten Fragen am Dresen schaffte es dann jmd zu unserm Tisch. Es ist ein toller Ort, schönes Ambiente. Wir waren zum Neujahreslunch. Die Auswahl am Buffet war sehr gut,alles warm und Essen hat geschmeckt, natürlich keineswegs wie in Mexico!Preis-Leistung aber Gut. Der Service macht diese schöne Location sehr kaputt. Getränke werden scheinbar ohne System verteil(3x stand man verwirrt mit Getränken vor uns,aber wir hatten es nicht bestellt).Lange Wartezeiten und selbst für die Rechnung mussten wir 2x fragen. Das kann man natürlich besser machen...Ob wir wiederkommen Wissen wir nicht.

The restaurant has lots of space to accommodate big groups. Unfortunately, the food is not good. The ceviche was a disappointment, parsley instead of coriander, no lemon juice, and the fish was untasty. We were there on a Thursday, when they had pork ribs day. I couldn't finish the ribs, the food was low quality.

Uns hat es nicht gefallen. Die reinste Massenabfertigung. So schmeckt leider auch das Essen. Beim Service ist auch Luft nach oben. Wir haben lange warten müssen ehe wir unsere Bestellung aufgeben konnten. Dann ging alles super schnell (Fertigessen). Wir sind enttäuscht und kommen definitiv nicht wieder.

Netter und freundlicher Service. Gute und leckere Auswahl an verschiedenen Gerichten vom Buffet zu Weihnachten. Mal was anderes als die gutbürgerliche Küche. Die grosse Eingangstür könnte aber deutlich leiser ins Schloss fallen.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal dort essen und es war hervorragend! Man wurde schnell bedient und es wurde auf alle Wünsche eingegangen. Es sind alle super freundlich und herzlich. Das Essen war eine 12/10!!! Super viel Auswahl, viele Soßen, alles appetitlich hingerichtet! An Kinder wird beim Essen ebenso gedacht. Wir kommen ab heute immer wieder. Danke für den tollen Abend! ❤️

Wir waren vor längerer Zeit spontan im Restaurant. Es hat sehr gut geschmeckt und alles hat gepasst. Wartezeit nicht lange, gute Speisekarte, nette Bedienung. Kleiner Haken war der extreme Wespenflug trotzdessen wir drinnen saßen. Aber kein Grund deswegen einen Stern abzuziehen, nur sollte man es vielleicht in den Griff bekommen.

Wir waren am Sonntag zum Brunch da und werden das Restaurant nicht nochmal besuchen. Die Kellnerin war nett, die Kollegin, die für das Abräumen und Servieren zuständig war, eine Katastrophe. Mehrmals haben wir unfreundliche Antworten bekommen und was für mich gar nicht geht, ist, dass die Gläser beim Servieren oben am Rand angefasst wurden (das habe ich bei der Kellnerin angesprochen). Zum Glück hatte ich bei meinem Getränk einen Trinkhalm. Ich hatte mir einen Pancake geholt und der war kalt. Im gewürfelten Feta war ein Haar, das Fleisch war trocken. Das kann, sollte aber nicht, passieren, aber bei unserem Besuch ist einiges zusammengekommen. Was mir persönlich noch gefehlt hat, waren aufgeschnittene Baguette-/ Brotscheiben (es gibt aber Brötchen) für zum Beispiel den Eiersalat, Chili con Carne usw. Dass es ab um 12 Uhr Tacos gibt, haben wir auch erst später durch einen Gast gesehen. Schade, wir hatten uns auf den Brunch gefreut.

Was für ein Saftladen. Trotz Reservierung vor Ort, zwei Telefonaten und einer Bestätigungsemail konnten wir am Abend nicht Essen. Anscheinend ist die Reservierung untergegangen. Eine Wiedergutmachung gab es natürlich nicht. Das bestätigt den Eindruck vom letzten Mal, als auch das Essen nicht ganz so prall war, man dem Restaurant aber nochmal eine Chance geben wollte. Nie wieder.

Ein sehr gelungener Sonntag. Das Buffett war reichhaltig und frisch. Ich fand die Auswahl war völlig in Ordnung. Auf Sonderwünsche wurde eingegangen und wir haben auch auf Wunsch einen anderen Tisch bekommen. vielen Dank, wir kommen gern wieder
