Close to the train station and worth visiting when having longer transfer time. Burger was average.

The staff was initially abrupt, but then friendly. The food is relatively expensive. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. The quality of the food was good and the taste was average to good. The breaded chicken strips in the children's menu tasted slightly fishy. (Perhaps fish was fried beforehand?) The potato gratin with the pork cheeks seemed to be covered with a simple grated cheese. It was seasoned too heavily with nutmeg. Unfortunately the Wiener Schnitzel was very oily. Presumably it was cooked in the deep fryer? The fries with the schnitzel were great. The side salads were fresh and tasted good. The beer tasted great too. The vegiburger was tasty, but unfortunately the price of €20 wasn't entirely justified. The location is of course ideal for train travelers. Very central between the zoo and the train station.

We had a mixed stay. Service was nice and friendly. Food was ok, but just a bit too expensive for us. We left €120 with 2 adults and 2 children. Price/performance is therefore no longer within the range for us.

Well-located brewpub right next to Karlsruhe main train station. There seems to be a lot going on, which speaks volumes for the place. Service is very friendly and helpful. The food is really tasty, but the portions could be larger - also considering the prices. Overall, a nice restaurant, where the rustic ambience (brewery inn) doesn't quite fit in with the upscale (and correspondingly expensive) cuisine.

Our salvation when we were stranded at the main station in KA. The total contrast to the to-go bakeries in the main station, where there is hardly any seating and you are more likely to be checked in. Nice service here, nice ambience, thank you for your kindness and the opportunity to warm us up...

When the chicken sandwich finally arrived it was very, very tasty. The beer also tasted good, even if it had evaporated a bit...😉. It just takes a while, although I'm a bit surprised that it takes about 10 minutes for a cyclist. Hugo and Cappo also take that long. Either the team is not yet well-coordinated, or we will generally have to prepare for longer waiting times in the future due to the ever-present shortage of staff. The service itself was very friendly and at least apparently surprised at the waiting times. So food 5☆ and service because of the service 4 ☆, otherwise it would only be 3. The location between the train station and the zoo is convenient, but also a bit busy... the prices are accordingly... you shouldn't be knee pik...😉

The restaurant is very well located right next to the train station and zoo. You sit comfortably and quietly. Service was friendly. The food was very tasty and fresh. However, the prices are very high.

It's actually quite nice there, but the prices are expensive, and the waitress broke a glass and blamed it on me. A shame.

I absolutely cannot recommend the Rest. Erste Fracht, Karlsruhe. The price/performance ratio is not right here! We ordered Frachtburgers for €20 plus. The burgers had a rancid taste overall. The oil used had probably been in use for a very long time. The burger bun was very soft and not tasty. The side fries were okay (but the portion was extremely small). We were overcharged for drinks on the bill. We were then given a free coffee instead. Conclusion: We will never visit this restaurant again. A trendy restaurant with high prices. Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes does not match the price at all.

We were there on March 23, 25. Food was terrible!!! I had mushroom risotto. Firstly, it was the wrong type of rice and was completely overcooked. Any porridge on the plate. My wife and daughter had pulled pork burgers. Meat and buns were COLD!!! and fries at the top were good, at the bottom they were full of fat. And to charge between 22 and 25 € for this is an outrage!!! IF IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO AWARD MINUS POINTS, THEN -3!!! Hopefully the beer is better, we didn't try it.

I stopped here during my scheduled two-hour layover in Karlsruhe. It was great. The weather was perfect for sitting outside. It's very nice, next to the Karlsruhe Zoo, directly across from the main train station. I'd love to come back next time I'm in Karlsruhe, not just for a Coke Zero, but also for a meal.

Pleasant atmosphere and wonderful morning sun. A very decelerated and friendly service. That was amusing and somehow likeable - but just not particularly suitable for service. Luckily there was little going on. The food was good, just a little low for the price. (15€ for a sandwich) The roasted thyme sprig was particularly delicious.

Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with our visit to the Alte Güter restaurant. The service was unfriendly and initially unwilling to bring us a children's chair. It was only brought after we specifically asked for it - but only after the drinks. Unfortunately, the specialty drinks we ordered were non-carbonated and didn't have the usual taste. After our complaint they were replaced, but the problem persisted. Only when we asked for a bottled Coke did we get a carbonated drink. The next mistake occurred while eating: We ordered a hamburger, but the meat wasn't cooked properly. Overall, both the service and the quality of the food were disappointing. Unfortunately, the atmosphere couldn't make up for it. Unfortunately, after this experience, we cannot recommend the restaurant.

Price increases are all well and good everywhere, but charging €20.90 for the “small burger with a mini children’s portion of fries” is almost a bit cheeky. If anything again, then just drinks and football!!! It's a shame ☹️

A very nice, modern restaurant (with a large beer garden in summer) at the entrance/exit of the Karlsruhe Zoo (Stadtgarten), opposite the main train station! Food looks and tastes good, with the exception of the potato and cucumber salad with the Wiener Schnitzel! The Rustic Leek Bruschetta, Erste Freight Burger and Erste Freight Vesper Platter were very good! The prices are above average!! Service still has room for improvement! We had to wait a long time at the beginning for someone to come, even though many tables weren't occupied! We also wanted to change a supplement, which was not allowed! Ambiance of the inn is nice and modern! What should be positively mentioned is the very good location at the Stadtgarten and near the Karlsruhe train station!

Good food, if a little on the heavy and rich side, nice atmosphere - not least thanks to the super-friendly staff. Drinks-wise very much focused on - I am quite sure excellent - craft beer, but the house redwine was really good too.

The food has always been good to very good. Unfortunately, the service is mediocre at best. So we had to ask several times to be able to pay. While paying, the gentleman was “incidentally” busy taking care of other things. In order to be taken to the seat, we were passed through to three different service staff in an uncharacteristic manner. You don't feel quite welcome. And: if you order a “Coke Diet” but there is only “Cola Zero”, a reputable service person will point this out. But well, as described...

We felt in good hands with Martin in all areas, good atmosphere.

We had a really great evening here. Our waiter Thomas was totally accommodating and not only gave us perfect advice about the beer, but also recommended a great burger. I took medium rare. The burger was the best I've eaten in a long time. Perfectly fried, crunchy, delicious sauce and great taste. You don't see it often. Many thanks to Adonis, Simon and Aline in the kitchen. 10/10! We'll be back.

The restaurant has a good menu, which also includes vegetarian dishes. You can find dishes in various price ranges. The service is friendly and the food is served quickly. We have a clear recommendation from our side.

Unfortunately, the oatmeal bowl I ordered was disappointing. The “fresh” fruits obviously came from inferior cans, probably directly from the buffet at the hotel across the street — and not from our own kitchen. The croissant wasn't fresh either. Additionally, expecting a tip from wait staff felt more like a duty than a friendly gesture. Overall, the experience was neither satisfactory in terms of quality nor hospitality.

Pasta not recommended because only half portion! First of all: we knew that the “Erste Freight” was priced in the upper segment, but we wanted to try it out. Reserving a table for 4 people was easy and the ambience (inside) was appealing and seemed quite cozy. My friends ordered 3x burgers and I ordered 1x “Winter Fettucine Pasta” (with pumpkin vegetables and roasted pumpkin seeds - veg.). After ordering, the food came to the table pretty quickly. The burgers looked good, a decent portion with tasty looking fries - but I was horrified to see that the portion of pasta was more like an appetizer or what I imagine a children's plate to be. Or to put it another way: half a portion. This can be found among the main courses for €18.90 - no salad included! The taste of the dish was very good, the fettucine was a bit too al dente, but that didn't really bother me. Unfortunately, after this treat, I had to scrounge through fries from my friends to get my fill. Therefore only recommended if you want to have a small snack and don't care that you are paying almost 20€ for it. For the same price or €2 more you could also order a (veggie) burger and be guaranteed to be full.

Having been in KA one more than one occasion, we regularly return to this place. The food is good, the beers are excellent and the service is amazing. We were lucky enough to be served by Martin on the first occasion and at every time since, he’s greeted us like returning friends. Highly recommend this place, and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Martin, you’ll be sure to be well looked after.

Ups and downs. The black pudding and the burger were well received, but the level of cooking was a coincidence. The cornflake chicken was relatively tasteless and boring. The light beers were okay, the darker ones not so much. The staff was nice and tried hard, but somehow everything took forever. When the television was turned up to full volume for football, we fled to the Knock Out Festival.

What you are looking for in Germany: simple and hearty dishes, good beers in a warm and informal environment.

A delicious rump steak with pepper sauce! And in a cozy environment where beer is central.

Ambiance is nice.... The service is overwhelmed and unfriendly (because it's understaffed, so people can't help it). The food and the café really don't taste good. That was a waste of money and time!

Went there for dinner on December 30th, 2025. We had crispy pork belly and pork head brawn. Unfortunately, the pork belly crust was limp and soft. Nevertheless, the food was okay overall. The service was quick and friendly.

I made my own beer tasting. Delicious! Note to the operator: Please be sure to offer a small & large beer sample. e.g. 3x 0.1 l or more… People find a favorite and or become aware of your other delicacies.

Grande brasserie située tout juste en face de la gare de Karlsruhe, l’ambiance y est conviviale et agréable. Nous y avons testé la carte tant au niveau des entrées, des plats que des desserts et nous avons très bien mangé. Le service est sympathique et l’addition très correcte. Coup de cœur pour les burgers que nous avons trouvé vraiment qualitatifs.

Unfortunately very loud and very crowded on Saturdays, was there some time ago. Fries super tasty. Cornflake chicken is very limp. Highly recommended burger according to friends. Gingerbread baked apple dessert very hard. :/ Homemade lemonade highly recommended. Service very friendly

Service staff seemed quite overwhelmed, not attentive, the waitress had language difficulties (couldn't book the cider I ordered despite reading the menu), we had to ask 3 times to pay Our table was also a storage table for the menus, although there would have been a shelf next to it, the waitresses regularly pushed past me to get to the cards, which was a shame Price/performance is also rather poor, the prices are very high, the goods seem more like convenience products I also have to rate the snack plate negatively, very unimaginative, no butter, tough ham, actually just sausage, 4 small pieces of cheese for two

Wir wollten ihn irgendwo abstellen, also fanden wir ein "Hotel"-Schild vor dem Bahnhof und fragten die Hotelangestelterin im Restaurant, ob wir ihn irgendwo abstellen könnten. Die Würzung war ausgezeichnet. Vor allem der Kürbisstrudel war sehr gut mit Rosmarin gewürzt. Es war ein einzigartiger Geschmack, den ich vorher noch nie hatte. Die Preise sind ein bisschen hoch, aber die Toiletten sind sehr sauber, die Einrichtung hat eine nette Atmosphäre und das Essen ist sehr gut, so dass ich die Preise für angemessen hielt. Alle Angestellten waren sehr freundlich. Restaurant und das beste Hotelpersonal. (Auf Japanisch) We were carrying suitcases that were too wide to fit into the coin lockers at the station. I wanted to leave it somewhere, so I found a sign in front of the station that said ``hotel'' and asked around. Then, without making a disgusted face, he took it with me. When I came back from sightseeing in the city, I thought I'd have a drink at this restaurant as a thank you, but I was just getting hungry, so I had a late lunch. We ordered soup, burger, and Kürbisstrudel, and they were all very delicious. The seasoning was great. The Kürbisstrudel in particular was flavored with rosemary and was very delicious. It was a taste that I had never had before and could only be tasted here. The price is a little high, but the restrooms were very clean, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was delicious, so I thought the price was reasonable. All the employees were also very kind. Especially since we had a fixed train time, they really responded to our request for food to be served quickly and we were really surprised that it came out in about 10 minutes. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were the best.

We were here more by chance. But Martin convinced us. The burgers were super tasty. The draft beer was ok and the India Pale Ale and the non-alcoholic craft beer were great. The service and service will make you want to come back.

We had the waiter with the long hair and the pigtail. It was a very nice evening with good food and ice-cold and delicious beer. The only thing that bothered me was the music was a bit too loud. The food is also a bit expensive, but very good. Nice evening and gladly again!
