Erbil's Vegan & Mediterran in München

I was once a regular and satisfied customer. However, shortly before the VAT reduction from 19% to 7%, prices were increased by at least 10%. I don't want to support this. Furthermore, in my opinion, the quality has declined. The seitan products are far too oily, and the falafel products lack seasoning. It's a shame, really, but luckily there are many alternatives nearby.

I'm not vegan, but my girlfriend is. To be honest, I was a little skeptical at first about what to expect. However, I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The restaurant is truly beautiful and perfect for a date. It's located in a quiet side street, yet still not far from the Ostbahnhof (East Train Station). The food was absolutely fantastic and speaks for itself. I was more than satisfied with the taste. The prices are also perfectly reasonable these days – of course, that's a matter of opinion, but I was personally very pleasantly surprised. Dearest Erbil, I've barely been able to eat any of the food I ordered from you in the past few orders, but I thought, "Maybe this time will be better!" Fat chance – it's getting worse and worse! I've been a regular customer for years! Where do you even begin? You couldn't possibly put any less love into your products! The food is swimming in oil, the seitan is tasteless and greasy, and probably boiled, not fried. I couldn't even eat a quarter of it! It's unbelievable that you sell this for so much money! It's also unbelievable that so many people still accept what you serve! I support every vegan business, even if it sometimes pushes me to my limits! You've crossed the line! We ordered two kebabs and between us, we could only eat half of one! That's truly awful! I've tried calling several times to speak to you, but I couldn't get through! I will never order from you again and I will advise everyone against ordering your terrible food! I've honestly lost count of how many times I've eaten at your place. First at the main train station, and then at your current location. Maybe you were only so successful because there were few alternatives, and people thought it was better than nothing. But you can't rest on your laurels! You'll never see me again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The vegan seitan doner kebab at Erbils is simply incredible! The flavor, the spices, and the side dishes are all amazing. You can tell they put love into their food, and even non-vegans come here specifically for it – because it's just so delicious! I also want to give a special shout-out to the fantastic staff: always friendly, cheerful, and welcoming. You immediately feel at home.

The service is quick and friendly. If you don't know what something is, they'll explain everything, and in the end, you'll have delicious and tasty food on your plate. 😋

After waiting 15 minutes at the order counter—without a single "hello" or any greeting whatsoever—I finally left. It seems they're only interested in preparing Uber Eats and Lieferando orders. That would have been acceptable if the employee had at least greeted us briefly. Then we would have waited until they had time for us. As a regular customer, this was definitely my last visit. This all happened on December 2nd between 5:55 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

I had a very tasty meal. It's always delicious here! And the prices are fair too. The staff is friendly and attentive.

I was in Munich for a concert and had researched Erbil's restaurant beforehand. I ordered seitan doner, börek, and lasagna, plus two drinks. I was absolutely thrilled with the food. The seitan doner was incredibly good, and there were several sauces to choose from. The börek was just as delicious. The entire menu is 100% vegan, and you can always talk to the staff about any allergies. The staff was very friendly and chatty. I felt extremely comfortable during my short visit and will definitely come back whenever I can.

I'm thrilled! They have so many delicious things here, and the variety is incredible. I wholeheartedly recommend the falafel dürüm and the cheesecake. The staff is exceptionally well-organized and very friendly. Even when it's busy, orders are processed surprisingly quickly. Everything is packaged securely and neatly for takeout. It's truly impressive!

The seitan dürüm was great. The falafel, unfortunately, weren't very good. Friendly staff. Quick preparation. The furniture inside has definitely seen better days.

Unfortunately, the doner lacked flavor and seasoning. It was also very oily. I think that could be improved. I do like the concept, though.

I can't agree with the majority. Maybe I'm just used to better vegan options in Stuttgart, but the seitan dish wasn't anything special. The sauces were bland, and the rice didn't have much in common with authentic Turkish pilaf. There was no hint of butter, and some of it was stuck together (that happens when it's 1-2 days old and heated up), and the seitan wasn't anything special either. The portion was quite large, which I like, and the shop was nicely decorated and the service was very friendly. Maybe okay by Munich standards, but I'm definitely used to better in Stuttgart (Ewin Kebaphaus, Dilgelay, etc.).

Everything is just right here. The staff is super friendly, the selection is fantastic, and the food is delicious. And all at really fair prices. Absolutely recommended for anyone looking for delicious vegan food in Munich 😉

For once, don't ask, just choose from the varied menu. Completely vegan and delicious! Pick-up and delivery service available. A few tables in a simple dining room. We had a very comfortable seating.

The various dishes are consistently excellent. The doner kebab plate is very generous in terms of portion size. The food is cooked early, and the paper used to wrap it gets soggy quickly. Still, it's better for the environment than aluminum foil. We sat outside and didn't like it when the staff used the adjacent tables for their smoke breaks. Here, the restaurant's own guests were disturbed while they were eating when the wind was blowing badly. Otherwise, it was really great!

Superb vegan restaurant. I had the seitan doner kebab (highly recommended). A very large selection of vegan dishes, both sweet and savory. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are totally reasonable. Very good value for money. Highly recommended. Won't be my last visit :)

We tried different things and everything was exquisite: döner in lahmacun, börek, appetizers/meze, and ayran. I am especially amazed how tasty the vegan börek and ayran were! The owner and the staff are very friendly as well.

Unfortunately, the taste of the seitan kebab was disappointing. And that wasn't due to the seitan, but rather the way it was layered. Initially, there was almost only seitan on top, with no vegetables or sauce. It tasted good for a short time in the middle when the proportions were right, but by the end, the bread was drenched in sauce and very soggy. But the guys are nice.

I came across this restaurant after a trip to Munich. Every dish is handmade and made with love. Everything was very fresh and delicious. From main courses to desserts, even the homemade ayran! Update: Tried the meatball plate today: very tasty!

I'm from Berlin and was only in Munich for two days. I ate by far the best kebab of my life here. High praise. Extremely good! The price and size are perfect.

What you see is what you get, literally. There are plates of food on display and that’s the meal. I regretted having placed the order after I saw him take the plate and just put it in the microwave. As for the taste, unless you really want seitan or meat alternatives, there are other options around and for the price, one can do better. Also, if you use an apple master card expect to pay a fee there. Nowhere else in Munich have I been charged for using the card, so that is strange. All in all, I don’t recommend this place. The service was somewhat off-putting too.

A delight both to eat in and to take away. The various sauces provide additional variety.

I very much welcome the offer of a vegan doner kebab. I find seitan, in particular, unbeatable in terms of the meat illusion. At Erbil's, too, the first bites were close to the original. All the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. What didn't work, however, was the balance of the ingredients. The sandwich bread was too fluffy and not crispy enough, with too little substance. As a result, the bread was soggy and falling apart after half the meal. Too much doner kebab with too little salad and sauce led to a rather crumbly and dry overall experience in the second "half." I find the decor inviting for a snack bar, and the price-performance ratio is good for the quality offered. €6.90 for a sandwich with good-quality vegan ingredients is very reasonable in 2025. The service that day was sober and hectic—not bad, but not exactly heartwarming either.

I got a seitan durum to go. It was delicious and I was quite full. The owner is very friendly, and you can also sit inside, with a nice atmosphere.

I had the seitan kebab to go. Unfortunately, the bread completely fell apart while eating it. I would have preferred a runny sauce. The tzatziki was more like a cream on one side of the bread, specifically the side that completely fell apart. It tasted quite good, but the eating experience was unfortunately not that exciting.

Another fine HappyCow find in Munich. We had a potato pide, a small starters plate, and a dessert. Everything was super tasty, service was friendly, and the portions were decent. If you're around the Ostbahnhof, this is a great choice.

Highly recommended! Be sure to take the restaurant’s sauce recommendation into account. Tomato & pepper with ginger & turmeric are a great mix. The staff is very nice and accommodating and the Dürum was also a 10/10.

We had the falafel dürüm, the tofu schnitzel sandwich and spinach pide. Unfortunately everything was very dry and bland. We do not recommend the sandwich and pide. The Falafel Dürüm was still ok.
