Das vegane Restaurant in München

We've eaten there several times, but today it wasn't worth the money...both schnitzels (I think they were frozen schnitzels now) were completely hard and dry. The fries were also dry and burnt...for €60 with a drink! You could do better! What a shame.

We're thrilled 🥰 We were here for breakfast/brunch in the morning. We enjoyed it so much that we had lunch here too. Delicious, friendly service, and a very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Dogs are allowed inside and outside. We'd love to come back on our next visit to Munich.

Good vegan food, large portions, and very tasty! Very close to Sendlinger Tor, but still quiet and not too busy outside! I was particularly impressed by the restrooms; not only are they clean, but they also have a special, diverse restroom! They've taken inclusion seriously here! Highly recommended ❤️

This was the best vegan food I've had anywhere in a long time, and I'd almost dare to leave out the "vegan" part of the description. But I haven't been able to judge that for some time. So, again, yes, vegan can be great. The atmosphere is also super nice, and the staff are in a great mood. I'll definitely be back :)

I've been there three times and felt uncomfortable every time, whether it was busy or not. The service was always unfriendly and arrogant. If you don't like people, you shouldn't be a waiter. The food was OK. Fortunately, there are plenty of other restaurants in Munich with good food and a nice atmosphere.

We went for dinner on our vacation in Munich and loved it so much we ended up going back two more times. The food was delicious, and although the menu isn't extensive, that's precisely the most positive aspect, because what they do offer are well-made and very filling dishes. I tried the bowl, the Caribbean burger, and the goulash (a special off-menu menu), all of which were delicious. Aside from the food, the atmosphere and staff were also very pleasant. And they're dog-friendly.

Schnitzel was incredible. The Caesar salad was incredible. They don’t sell booze here- that was disappointing. The couple next to us did not talk to each other for their entire meal and it made us very uncomfortable. We couldn’t figure out if they were on a terrible date or maybe brother/sister. The man kept choking on his food and washing it down with his non alcoholic brown beer. I was seriously concerned and thought I had to give him the Heimlich maneuver. And I totally would have if he needed it. We finished the meal and left with no incident. Anyway, good vegan food.

The best vegan schnitzel we had on our trip the last few weeks, and deliciously flavorful cheese dip as a starter. The portions are generous and we left feeling full and happy. We were hoping for a cocktail, but there was only non-alcoholic beverages, which is no big deal, just thought it might be helpful to those reading this review.

We had a delicious meal here with two adults and two children! The service was very friendly! Our favorite was the BBQ platter!

The food was good, but the peach iced tea didn't really have much flavor, and the Snickers cake was rather bland. The bill was way too high for two dishes, two drinks, and a slice of cake. The service was very pleasant and friendly.

Loved the food! Lots of great plant based options. Also loved that it was alcohol free which in a way ‘forced’ us not to have alcohol with our meal which in a way is a staple. Lovely outdoor patio, glorious in the warm weather. Highly recommend the curry bowl and the pasta - good sized portions! Wish we could’ve had the dessert but we’re full. Service could’ve been quicker but was fine overall. Would recommend for vegans / vegetarians!

I used to always go to Max Pett whenever I was in Munich. Last year, there was definitely a different chef there in the summer. You can really tell that someone else is there now. The food used to be phenomenally delicious, but now it's rather average. It's a real shame! The service was excellent, though; everything was quick, very friendly, and the atmosphere outside was lovely.

Went here for dinner as I was looking for a good vegan spot for my first night in Munich. The food is excellent, the mocktails are also delicious. If you're looking for an authentic German schnitzel, the vegan option is a must try!

It was nice trying vegan food as a non-vegan person. Schnitzel was a bit too small and left me hungry as it came with salad only as a side. A pretty expensive too, 21 € for a small piece. With a small juice the total was 28€. Not really worth the money.

As someone who eats mostly vegan and also wants to try all the traditional foods during travel, this spot was perfect! The vegan schnitzel was just what I was looking for and it was delicious. Not to mention the yummy side salad and fries which were accompanied by delicious dipping sauces. I also ordered the soup of the day which happed to be lentil and that was also delicious. To top it off they have an array of NA drinks to choose from and although I was full, the dessert options looked great. The tables outside have a lovely ambience and the service was outstanding. Hope to return one day during future travels!

A full 5 stars is deserved. The food is excellent. The best service I've ever experienced. They immediately warned me that there would be a longer wait due to a cooking absence and kept me informed. The food still arrived after 15 minutes.

Some of the best vegan food I've ever had! Great service, desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks, too. Just be aware that they don't serve alcohol here.

Max Pett in Munich is the first vegetarian restaurant in ages and has become an institution. It impresses with a diverse, purely vegan menu featuring creative and flavorful plant-based dishes. The portions are generous, and the ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared. The cozy ambiance invites you to linger and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive, although there may occasionally be a wait. A good selection of non-alcoholic beverages completes the offerings. For anyone who loves vegan cuisine or would like to try it, Max Pett is a clear recommendation and a true treat in Munich!

Incredible vegan food. Best schnitzel in the world and I have tried to find vegan schnitzel everywhere. No alcohol here. You will be charged €5 for a carafe of tap water, no ice.

The food used to be better, especially the selection. Service wasn't very attentive, and the wait for drinks was unbearable; draft beer took half an hour.

One of the best choice for everybody who wants to have a great meal, escpecially if you are vegan. We were there already a few times, tried a few things and we highly recommend anything from the menu.

Excellent vegan food and I highly recommend ordering the Asparagus Ravioli special…it’s amazing and was blown away. This dish should be a regular on the menu. Staff was very friendly and very attentive. Cute place as well. Note: I’m not even a vegan and loved this place!

The best vegan food in Munich. We had an amazing salad and schnitzel here both served with fresh salad and vegetables on the side. Followed by a tiramisu. Each dish was excellent, the service was friendly and welcoming. They also have a wide selection of non alcoholic drinks and a calm atmosphere. Highly reccomend.

The wild garlic cheese spaetzle blew me away! The appetizer and dessert were also very good; you can tell the attention to detail is put into the cooking here. We were only visiting Munich for one day, and I'm glad we ate here :)

I don't recommend the burgers, but the pork chops are good. The only downside is the price.

What a hit! The food was incredibly delicious (schnitzel, burgers, and spaetzle) and the service was simply fantastic! Our requests, and especially those of our little daughter, were so warmly and kindly attended to! Highly recommended! 🤩🥳

If you haven't been convinced about vegan food yet, you should try this place. By far the most delicious vegan restaurant. At first, I was skeptical about whether the cheese would actually taste good, but we almost ordered a second portion.

The terrace is super nice, and despite the constant arrival of people, the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff is friendly and speaks English. The food is made with love. For dessert, I ordered vegan chocolate ice cream and was surprised by how good it was.

Unfortunately really bad today, despite feedback to the kitchen there was no indication of poor quality but a whopping €70 bill even though plates were returned half full. Were here several times and things got progressively worse. 10 years ago this was a great store. Service was nice.

The vegane Schnitzel was great, and the hot french fries too. We also ordered mexican bowl which was also good. However, the tapioca pudding and the guavalemonade didn’t meet our expectations. The drink tasted very sour and artificial and we didn’t really enjoy it. The coconut flakes in the pudding were very dominating. There were many elements in the pudding like the roasted groundnuts, coconut, fruits and they really didn’t fit together. But the main course is definitely worth it.

One of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been to. We went there twice during our stay in Munich. The Kaiserschmarn is absolutely amazing!

The obvious choice when you want vegan food. The menu is a mix of inventive and familiar - everyone in the group can find something they'll enjoy. The front of house team is attentive and reliable, but the kitchen can be very slow at peak times - lunch stretched over two hours. Please note also that the breakfast menu is served until 12:30, so the earliest the main menu will start flowing out of the kitchen is 13:00. The atmosphere is welcoming and laidback - the food is vegan; the toilets are unisex; the soundtrack is Chappell Roan.

Food was great. There were longer waiting times at the beginning because it was completely full, but overall it's definitely a recommendation

Highly recommended! We really wanted to eat vegan Kaiserschmarren and found it here. We also had the vegan oven cheese. Both were super tasty! The service was also very friendly, served us quickly and gave us very good advice. We will definitely come back!

Such a great restaurant. Really all the dishes we tried (schnitzel, salad, ravioli, Kaiserschmarrn, apple cake) were really delicious. Definitely worth a visit for everyone (even non-vegans). The prices are a little higher, but the portions are large and the food is really good and the service is also very nice. Gladly again :)

I have to preface by saying the food was excellent. The vegan schnitzel was in a league of its own but the ofenkase and ice cream (especially the snickers) were also really delicious! Portion sizes were generous so it's very fairly priced. The experience was tainted by the slow and inattentive service. We waited quite a bit between each dish and the beer we ordered with the main arrived after we'd finished it. Then they forgot to bring the dessert all together.

The two of us had dinner at Max Pett on a Saturday evening. We've been to vegan restaurants several times but never to one with typical German food. So we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The service was really not good tonight we had to wait a long time to order drinks. Before the food came we were offered dessert because the kitchen was about to close. The dessert arrived 5 minutes after the main course and was therefore cold to eat as we had to eat the main course first :( My plate was almost cleared away while I was still eating without asking 😅 To eat: The starter of baked cheese was delicious for us. The schnitzel was not convincing. Unfortunately, the salad was bitter and the consistency of the schnitzel was very tough and greasy. Unfortunately, the ketchup tasted like cinnamon and my drink wasn't the juice spritzer I had ordered, which I then saw on the receipt. The Kaiserschmarren looked very perfect to us and for over €10 it wasn't very fair if it wasn't homemade 🥹 In total we paid €77, which unfortunately wasn't worth it at all for us. Maybe Max Pett had a bad Saturday evening, unfortunately it didn't convince us 🤷🏽‍♀️

I had the “oven cheese” as a starter and the soy viennese schnitzel as a main course and both of them were delicious. The “cheese" was really tasty and surprinsingly similar to actual cheese (and I am French !) The waiters were great and kind :) It is a great way to get the essence of german food…but vegan 🌱

I was here recently for the first time, the food was incredibly good, the portions were more than sufficient, and the price-performance ratio was just right. The schnitzel with the cucumber and potato salad was really first class, will definitely come back! But what you should definitely know: absolutely no alcohol is served.

Unfortunately, I cannot understand the good reviews of this restaurant. As soon as I entered the restaurant, my first glance fell into the open kitchen, where a dirty, wet rag and garbage lay on the floor, next to a bucket full of an indefinable liquid. The sight made me want to turn back, but I didn't want to disappoint my companion. To drink I had non-alcoholic Riesling which was served in a sticky glass and was undrinkable for my taste. As a starter I ordered the beetroot carpaccio. The beetroot had an unpleasant leathery-tough consistency and tasted of nothing except old earth. The accompanying salad was carelessly and blandly prepared, the dressing was a watery white sauce that lacked any acidity or seasoning, except for the taste of salt. My companion had the baked cheese as a starter, a chewing gum-like mass with an unpleasant mouthfeel. For the main course I had the schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad. The salad was again inedible like the starter. The schnitzel had the typical consistency of soy dried meat, which I don't like for a breaded schnitzel because the texture is too coarse and spongy. There are now better alternatives here. The breading was ok, but fried a little too long and very greasy. The only thing worth mentioning is the friendly and attentive service. However, since I don't go to a restaurant because of the service, this will certainly be my first and last visit to Max Pett.

I have been coming here again and again for years, with family and friends, and every time there are always several people in the square for the schnitzel. It's really outstanding, I actually almost always take it and I have to say, the recipe is changed and adapted, but it remains great. It tastes good and the consistency is really impressive. You can choose the side dishes, either salad or fries, which I also think is great. The desserts are actually all excellent, and the alternating cakes have almost never disappointed me. Unfortunately, on our last visit, the otherwise beloved Kaiserschmarrn wasn't particularly special, the compote wasn't good and the consistency wasn't as usual. It's a shame. Another point of criticism I have is that the restaurant, with little staff and space, has become more and more uncomfortable over the years. Also that you have to wait a long time to order, until you get food and drink and what you are allowed to pay. The coordination needs new planning, and some of the tables are positioned in such a relaxed way that people just walk past you all the time. It's a shame, because the food has been one of the best vegan alternatives I know for years and it has more than convinced even non-vegan people.

The sanitary facilities are particularly noteworthy - very clean, they are cleaned very regularly and I like the layout of the toilets. Let's get to the food, simply delicious! Just called, I was there in 5-10 minutes. Daily dish (potato gratin with salad, walnut/chestnut soup) ordered ToGo. ☆ Warm welcome on the phone and in the restaurant ☆ Food was ready after 3 minutes. ☆ Super tasty dishes, nice hot soup, delicious dressing on the salad ☆ beautiful details such as crispy, purple vegetable strips as a refinement/garnish to the dish. ☆ Everything vegan - I have no intolerances and thought it was brilliant. Very rich. Traditional Munich dishes in a vegan version. Nice place and friendly staff. We had Shnitzel and Bavarian Spinach Cheeze Noodles.

I was invited to this place, and lucky me, I got to try out a ton of different dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the dessert—the Kaiserschmarrn and the Apfelkirchal were so good! And the cashew cheese... uff, amazing! On top of that, the service was very friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.

Great vegan restaurant with a good variety of options. We really enjoyed the vegan Cheeze and also the main courses with schnitzel and the beyond meat burger (glutenfree version) were great. Also the vegan ice cream is good. The staff is friendly and makes sure you have everything you might need. I would recommend to make a reservation.

We went to Max Pett's with friends and had a very nice and cozy evening there. The dishes are all vegan or vegetarian, absolutely delicious dishes, the preparation is extremely good, the ingredients are super fresh. We had delicious non-alcoholic drinks and super delicious desserts. Be careful: the homemade vegan ice cream is truly addictive!

I went one day without a reservation and didn't get a table. The next day I was able to go to dinner and although they got the dishes mixed up, the food was excellent. The soup of the day was spectacular.

Great restaurant ideally located at Sendlinger Tor. The food tastes really great and it's a pleasure to have the entire menu to choose from. The staff was very nice and helpful and the plants and large windows give a friendly atmosphere. There were burgers, schnitzel, tagliatelle with mushroom sauce, salmon and more delicious things, we found everything delicious.

Unfortunately our last visit to your restaurant today was a big disappointment. The service employee seemed to have to serve the entire restaurant alone and only received support from a young lady who was probably an intern. This understaffing led to significant delays, for example we had to wait 15 minutes for cutlery. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations in any way and we did not enjoy it at all. Despite our dissatisfaction, the full amount was charged, which we found to be very disrespectful. We used to be your guests regularly and were always impressed by the quality of the food and service. However, it seems that your concept has changed: less service, while at the same time the prices have increased significantly. We very much regret this development as your restaurant has always been a special place for us. All the best to you, we won't come back!

Vegan enjoyment with small weaknesses 😜 The Max Pett in Munich impresses with its purely plant-based cuisine. The soup of the day (lentils and vegetables with smoked tofu) was a poem: aromatic, rich and perfectly seasoned. The Cesar salad also impressed with its fresh preparation and creative vegan dressing. The portions are quite large - unfortunately there was no room left for the tempting pieces of cake. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. The Max Pett is a top address for vegan cuisine in Munich. The only catch: you can't get enough of it and want to come back every day!

A must for vegans and everyone who appreciates good vegan food. The varied menu has something for every taste. There are some gluten free options. The quality is top. The dishes are very attractively prepared and generously portioned. Very nice service and relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely come back next time we visit Munich :)
